Accidentally dialed her instead of the hospital to schedule a test. Didn't state who she was when she answered, so I asked to schedule the test and she said "This is a law firm, you should probably call the hospital" and hung up. Not sure how she gets any business.

She was short on the phone and didn’t seem like she even want to hear what I had to say. Then told me she don’t give legal advice for free when started explaining my situation. I was only Stating that it was messy and had to go to trial. Was trying to find out how much I need up front. She is just a rude person from my short experience.

She is legit incompetent to handle anything of importance. She sent my confidential documents to my X in the middle of our nasty divorce. The letter was to contact her in so many days or she would file a motion to drop me as a client, she sent it directly to My X who of course w/ held the letter. So I lost my Judacare attorney due to her negligence. She had my address, & sent other documents to me. But the one of such importance she sent to my X. Also when I retrieved my documents, she had another clients documents mixed in with mine. Another clients Social security #’s , child custody information, address, phone # etc . Irresponsible to say the least! She never did the work to have child support w/held so my children went w/ out. She is a joke amongst other attorneys, when I found new counsel they laughed & stated she should never be allowed to take anyone’s case. Absolutely incompetent! It’s sad when you are in an abusive situation & desperate & have to rely on Judacare appointed attorney to help you and you end being abused by a so called attorney who is suppose to help you. I almost gave up & went back to that abusive situation because I was so afraid to fight in court without the attorney I lost. Turns out, she did me a favor. With how poorly she handled my case I would hate to see how she would have handled herself in court. My only regret is not turning her in to the bar. She should not be allowed to represent anybody!

Miranda Lezcano is only in it for the money. She refuses to do any work. I emailed her with a question about our court order and I was charged $15 for an email back telling me to figure it out myself. In court she just sits back and let's whatever happens happen. Because of her not only am I in an unfair situation but my child too is in a situation that is unfair.

This women will literally lie to you Saying you don't have a case in order to shirk work. Text book gold-brick . She will go as far as even trying to persuade you with erroneous information to convince you to not appeal your case. She represented my guy Curtis Brown and ended up causing a mistrial due to her ineffective performance. This poor man is doing 34 years in prison due to her negligence. I ask for my casefile and she won't even give me documents that negate my guilt. Marcella you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself.. When confronted by the Office of Lawyer regulation about emails that allude toward prosecutoral misconduct being withheld. She literally ignored me. Public defender Marcella depeters is the epitome of what's wrong with America's justice system. Shame on you.

I hired Grace for my divorce. Initially, there was a retainer fee provided. Throughout the course of the divorce, Grace never kept me updated on the cost of his representation. I was never informed or given a bill until the end of the representation. Common practice for any other attorney is that they keep you informed and let you know if more money is needed for representation. Grace's main concern was the negative relationship he had with my ex-wife's attorney of which he had previous controversy with. Most of the face to face meetings were wasted time of Grace bragging about himself and talking about his personal hobbies which I was billed for that time. During the representation, Grace informed me that I needed value for my home. He gave me the option of getting an appraisal or going by the tax role. I told him I could not afford an appraisal and the tax role was accurate as to the value of my home. He took it upon himself to hire an appraisal company who in turn harassed my ex-wife numerous times before I had to call Grace and remind him that I had never agrees to an appraisal. In the final bill, Grace charged me for the appraisal, which was never done, as well as his time consulting with the appraisal company. The few things that Grace did for me I could have easily done on my own. Total waste of money and time. There are far better lawyers out there. I wish I would have done more research on him before hiring him.

Abusive foulmouthed. Very rude in front of our small children cursing and bragging about his toolbox. Bragged about knowing and shared details of a criminal case which he was not attached because he was friends with the sheriff and the sheriff told him all the details. Very ignorant of the law and had to keep looking things up in law books like a student. NEver heard of or was familiar with the law as related to family law. Just spent his time bragging about how smart he was. If you need a lawyer you would be better off going to the mall or walmart. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Called for a consultation regarding a tenant landlord situation and before I could get to what the issues were he kept talking over me. Telling me as if I was a child what I should and shouldn’t be doing “you’re responsible for .... “ and here I didn’t even get to the reason WHY I was calling. It’s not as if we paid rent late or were withholding rent or that we damanged anything. Called to see if what the company was trying to do to us was even legal. I felt like he was already representing the other side! It was a CLC referral which offers a FREE 30 minute consultation and then the option of retaining them at a discounted rate not sure is perhaps that is why he seemed like he had very little interest in helping. He was very rude and demeaning. My husband and I are very well educated and responsible people (Nurse Practitioner and Police Officer) so for him to speak to a potential client like he did was appalling! Would NEVER recommend this law firm as Ronald Diersen was the one I spoke with! HORRIBLE!!!

I hired Steve Clubb to help me navigate a very difficult situation and depended on his knowledge as an Elder Care attorney. He was hired to do three specific jobs and he didn't finish a single task. Left me in the lurch and made my husband and my situation worse off than it was. He also lied about doing certain things that the court requested and left me to have to follow through on filing paperwork. He sat in a meeting with his boss and myself and lied straight to our faces. I would say find another lawyer and law firm altogether as the firm did nothing to help us even after we showed proof of his incompetence.

Unfortunately Stephen Clubb did not keep his word on several occasions. To begin with I hired Stephen for a 3-4 hour job (his estimate) that was supposed to be a smooth process. Instead I received countless runarounds and no follow up. It was next to impossible to have Stephen contact me with any progress or even basic communication, after over three months of waiting I realized his word meant very little. In the end I had to hire another attorney that completed the project in less than three days. I highly do NOT recommend.

If you want an attorney that won't answer your emails, reply to your questions and concerns, AND still charge you for reading every email you send, then Attorney Krajnek is for you. On the other hand, if you want an attorney that will properly represent you, then I would go with just about any other attorney you can find.

Unimpressed with the way this attorney talked to us during pre-trial hearing. He got agitated quickly when after a minute we still hadn't made a decision on accepting his offer or going ahead with a trial. Seriously a minute to make a decision and he escalates to degrading talk loud enough for others in the room to hear. This guy has no patience or respect for other people. I would never hire him.

Dan did my parent and grandparents' estate documents. We had him also do ours which included a will, living revocable trust, power of attorney, health care power of attorney, joint marital property agreement, etc. The documents cost nearly $3,000 to prepare once additional fees were assessed for deed transfers which was about double what a colleague of mine had mine done for. However, we were willing to pay the extra amount to have things handled properly. Also we knew that he was familiar w/ my family's assets and documents and we held some joint properties so we thought it was worth the price. After the documents were completed we realized that an asset that was jointly owned w/ my parents was left vulnerable in the event of my death and would not securely pass to my children. Instead it would go to my husband even though my parents told him that it was to stay in the bloodlines (i.e. me, my children, etc.). When I questioned it, he said that that is what I told him to do and that he made notes to that affect. However, we never discussed how to handle that asset and I knew my parents had told him that it should remain in the bloodlines. He charged my family several hundred dollars to rectify the matter. When I asked him to share some responsibility in the matter and reduce his fees, he refused. Dan is polite, personable, and good at returning calls. However, I would not recommend him because of how this matter was handled.

I hired Att Marquette if you would to know how good of lawyer he is look up Parent vs Home Depot & Citi Bank and make your call on hiring his service or not. We spent over 5 years in federal court and thousands of dollars on a lawsuit that should have been open and settled with in 6 months. Home Depot and Citi Bank applied another persons credit card purchase to my credit card 6 months after the purchase and claimed it was mine to pay. Read the case! I lost because my Laywer filed under Wisconsin cousumer act. And had me settle with Citi Bank. And told me we will go after Home Depot. ( well wrong). The Judge though out my case because we can't sue Home Depot Under the WCA.because they do not collect the dedt. Or issue the C/C, Citi Bank does. And ask him why he did not try to collect the 25,000 I still owed him,and what happend in the case will Lee at the end.I would love to no his answer. He never gave as an answer. This cost me 4 lawsuits and 10,000 of thousand of dollars. Thanks

Mr. Beisenstein instructed me to seek a lawyer to prepare a written offer on a property that he knowingly was going to sell to his friends. So I spent all this money to prepare a document all for him to say it was already sold. I contacted him for a year about the property and he wouldn't return my call. It was only after I went into his firm that he called me back. Go with a lawyer that is not sketchy because this guy is bad news

What a Business Lawyer Can Do for You

A business lawyer provides critical legal guidance and support to entrepreneurs, startups, and established businesses. Whether you are forming a new company, drafting contracts, or navigating complex regulations, a business attorney ensures you are legally protected and operating within the law. They can also help prevent legal disputes or represent you in negotiations, transactions, or lawsuits that arise during the course of business operations.

Business lawyers have expertise in areas such as business formation, contract law, intellectual property, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. They ensure that your business is compliant with relevant laws and help mitigate risks that could threaten your company's success.

When Should I Hire a Business Lawyer?

Hiring a business lawyer is essential at various stages of business development, including:

  • Forming a business: When deciding on the best structure for your company (LLC, corporation, partnership, etc.), a lawyer can guide you through the registration and compliance process.
  • Drafting contracts: If you need contracts for employees, partners, suppliers, or clients, a lawyer ensures these documents are legally sound and in your best interest.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, or dissolutions: If you are buying, selling, or dissolving a company, legal counsel is critical to avoid costly mistakes.
  • Compliance and regulatory issues: A lawyer can help navigate complex regulations, particularly in industries like healthcare, finance, or tech.
  • Resolving disputes: Whether it's contract disagreements, intellectual property infringement, or employment issues, a business lawyer helps mediate, negotiate, or litigate on your behalf.

What Does a Business Lawyer Do?

Business lawyers provide a wide range of services that cater to different legal needs of a business. They can:

  • Help you choose the best legal structure for your business.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with employees, suppliers, customers, or business partners.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Advise on tax strategies to minimize your business's tax burden.
  • Assist with intellectual property protection, such as trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
  • Handle mergers, acquisitions, and business sales, ensuring all legal paperwork is in order.
  • Resolve disputes through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation.

How Are Business Lawyers Paid?

Business lawyers typically charge either by the hour or on a flat-fee basis, depending on the complexity of the work. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rates: The lawyer charges based on the time spent working on your case. Rates vary depending on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat fees: For certain tasks, such as incorporating a business or drafting a standard contract, a lawyer may offer a flat fee.
  • Retainer: Some businesses may hire a lawyer on retainer, paying a fixed amount each month to have ongoing access to legal services.

The payment structure is often discussed during an initial consultation so you can choose the one that best suits your business needs and budget.

How Much Does a Business Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a business lawyer depends on factors such as:

  • The complexity of the legal issue: More complex matters, like mergers or intellectual property disputes, typically cost more than routine tasks like contract drafting.
  • The lawyer's experience and location: More experienced lawyers or those in larger cities often charge higher fees.
  • The nature of the billing arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $150 to $1,000 or more, depending on the lawyer's expertise. Flat fees are usually available for simpler matters like forming an LLC or drafting a standard contract.

It's essential to discuss fee structures upfront to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Business Lawyer

Before hiring a business lawyer, ask the following questions during your consultation:

  1. What is your experience with businesses like mine?
Find out if the lawyer has handled legal issues for companies in your industry.
  2. What services do you offer?
Ensure the lawyer can meet all your business's legal needs, from contract drafting to dispute resolution.
  3. What are your fees, and how do you bill?
Get clarity on how you'll be charged - whether by the hour, flat fee, or retainer.
  4. How do you handle conflicts of interest?
Ask how the lawyer ensures there is no conflict in representing your business.
  5. Can you provide references from other business clients?
Speaking with past clients will give you an idea of the lawyer's expertise and professionalism.
  6. Do you have experience in my specific industry?
Industry-specific knowledge can be crucial, especially in highly regulated fields like healthcare or finance.

How to Check the Credibility of a Business Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable business lawyer:

  • Check state bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is in good standing and has no disciplinary actions against them.
  • Look for client reviews or testimonials: Online reviews, testimonials, or word of mouth from other business owners can provide insight into the lawyer's reliability and effectiveness.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should have satisfied clients who can vouch for their services.
  • Check professional memberships: Membership in respected legal organizations (such as the American Bar Association or a local business lawyer association) can signal credibility.
  • Review their website and professional profile: A well-established lawyer typically has a professional website showcasing their areas of expertise, credentials, and case success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with a business lawyer, prepare the following:

  • A description of your business and its structure: This will help the lawyer understand your legal needs.
  • Any current contracts or agreements: If you're seeking contract advice, bring copies of existing contracts.
  • A list of legal issues or concerns: Be ready to discuss any potential legal challenges, such as regulatory compliance, disputes, or transactions.
  • Financial documents: If applicable, bring financial records related to the legal matter you're seeking help with.
  • Questions about fees and billing: Ensure you understand the lawyer’s payment structure and fees upfront.

By preparing these materials, you can ensure that your first meeting with a business lawyer is productive and informative.
