Overcharges! Do not believe his sales pitch! You WILL end up paying more than you think and heaven help you if you don't pay on time. He will drop your case right in the middle. Quick and in a hurry. Worst lawyer ever! Wastes clients time and does the bare minimum to get by. Does what HE thinks is best. Not what the CLIENT wants. Save yourself heartache and time. Get a good lawyer the FIRST TIME. It's NOT CLAY.

I hired Stewart Vance. I gave him all the required information. He told me not to worry I was in good hands. Well, two months later I receive a letter from him saying he was not going represent me. After trying to contact him, he finally called back. He basically said there was not a lot of money to be made and it may go to trial. Stewart Vance failed to preserve critical evidence, which would have made this case so easy. Their law office bases the foundation of an accident on the police report. I was not listed at fault. Due to Vance's failure to preserve the evidence, the time-frame has expired to retrieve this critical data. In Law School and law enforcement training you are always taught to "Preserve" the evidence. Due to Stewart Vance's lack of professional work ethics and taking care of his client, he has made it difficult for another attorney in handling my case. Stewart Vance's advertisment should be "Call us if your case is worth a lot of money and we do NOT have to do any work.

This law office should be ASHAMED of themselves. If they had any semblance of human decency, they wouldn't be able to look at themselves in the mirror after what they've allowed their son to get away with and how they've abused their power in his case! Adam Callaghan is a REPEAT animal abuser and has a disgusting history of torturing and beating innocent and helpless animals. In his most recent case, his father (aka Christopher Callaghan) abused his power and network connections to get his son essentially off the hook and seal records (while in a previous court case with a different judge, his conviction was not sealed due to already existing previous offenses). If you're considering using this law office, please ask yourself - what sort of integrity and common decency could these people possibly have if they continue to abuse the system to let their deranged and mentally unstable son continue to terrorize animals, face zero consequences, and try to sweep it under the rug?! Absolutely appalling and disgusting excuse for a legal practice and I would rather spend my life in jail than ever support this family.

I hired Chris and his team (shout out to Franklin!). I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They helped me through the worst experience of my life (and I spent 4 years in Afghanistan). They went above and beyond for me. It wasn't just a job to them, they truly cared. The old saying goes that "In order for a settlement to be effective, both sides walk away disappointed".. well I wasn't. I hope I never need a lawyer again but if I do, I know who I'm calling.

This man ignores the law when he sees fit. This is unacceptable behavior for an attorney and he should be investigated immediately for obstruction of justice and abuse of power. Do not hire him. If you would like to know more search up “Adam Callaghan animal abuse” and you will see how his own son tortures and kills animals showing psychopathic tendencies and a complete lack of morals and empathy. Attorney Callaghan abused his and his wife’s power to make sure their son got minimal charges. If he cannot be trusted to follow the law in this instance then why would he not abuse his power in other cases as well? This man needs to have his license revoked.

I hired them to do a clerk’s deed. It took a year! To get anything done. They done it twice and both times it wasn’t right. Not to mention I paid the court house $120 to file it. And I’m still in the same boat I was to start with. Very disappointed and discussed!! Save your money!!!

He took 1400 to do legal work....never did it. I had to begin pressing criminal charges to get my money back...even then he kept 300 dollars claiming he gave it to my girlfriend. I don't have a girlfriend so I'm now pressing charges a second time. He is a liar and a thief.

Absolutely the worst attorney ever. I hired Josh O'Neal to handle some matters pertaining to my business. He FORGOT to file my documents on time, basically, FORGOT me, and caused a life altering mess. After forgetting to file, he would not speak to me, take my calls or give me an appointment to see him. I had to hire another attorney to fix the mess he created as best as she could. Mr. O'Neal never, offered a refund or anything to correct the damage that he caused me. I had planned to file a Mal Practice suit, and was advised by two different attorneys that I had a black & white case, but due to the issues he caused and put me in financially, I could not pay thousands of dollars to hire financial analysts to prove the revenues that was lost, and to handle my case. I would never recommend him, ever.

I had a car accident September 2021. A lady totaled my car with my 9 month old baby in the rear. She ruined the frame of my car!!!!! He agreed to represent my family and I. We did everything that was asked of us, but it was extremely difficult to keep in touch with him! I've emailed, Facebook, text , left voicemail and I haven't heard from him in almost an entire year! So now the statue of limitations goes into play. I wasn't able to file my claim! I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!!! A waste of time!

This guy cannot even process a simple home closing without complications. While trying to send me some closing related documents via email, he failed to attach any documents to his outgoing email. This did not occur just once; it happened multiple times! In one instance, he actually attached someone's else documents by mistake! (Wonder if there might be one or more Bar Associations, not to mention the other two parties whose documents I got, that would love to know about that?) Not only did he have problems with the simplest things like attaching documents to an email, he also was very unprofessional in regards to processing documents on a timely basis. This lack of professionalism actually resulted in a full week delay in closing; costing my elderly, handicapped parents additional closing and other costs that they would not have had to pay if closing had occurred when it was originally scheduled. It's my suspicion that if you cannot properly and professionally handle a home closing, it’s just a reflection of your overall legal ability. All I know is that if you want a hassle-free closing, don't let anybody stick you with this guy! I would also be very leery about choosing him to represent me in regards to any legal matter!

After hiring this man on a contingency basis (we had a contingency contract), he without our knowledge billed our insurance company for services for several thousands of dollars. The insurance company paid him for most, but not his entire invoice. He then began trying to bill us monies, even though he was dismissed from our case by our insurance company. He took us to district court for $10,000, but the judge only made us pay for phone calls and copies only, resulting in a judgement of $2,000ish. He appealed this to circuit court, who dismissed the case. He then reprimanded the judgement back to district court. WE paid the judgement in full and have EVERY RECEIPT!!! Now, out of the blue, over 2 years later, we received a levy on our property from this Attorney claiming we owe him interest on the judgement. We were unaware of any interest owed and have NEVER RECEIVED ONE piece of correspondence from this attorney until this came today. We contacted district court, whom shows our payment in full. We were also informed by the courts, as well as attorney we have contacted that he does this to numerous people, and takes advantage of any and every one he can and uses the legal system to do so! He is not an above board or honest attorney and will take advantage of you any way he can. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ATTORNEY. I would give him 0 stars, but the system makes you give at least one. We have every bit of documentation to verify this review. Years later, this man is still trying to milk monies from us for work he never did. He was dismissed from our case and did not represent us. He is not an honest attorney.

I hired Mr. Etheredge for several matters and he assured me he and Dustin Fowler would keep me up to date on my cases. That did not happen and I did not receive a favorable result. I was overcharged and never provided a contract or letter describing what I paid over $25,000 for. I have complained to the bar, but nothing has happened.

My experience with Sandra Lewis is that she was extremely rude and inconsiderate towards me during my case. She performed only two out of eight tasks that she gave me her word on. She charged me over $4,000 and when I asked about the other tasks, she gave me a sarcastic answer. I did not get the results that I should have gotten, although I did get some favorable results. You deserve better.

What a Car Accident Lawyer Can Do for You

A car accident lawyer specializes in representing individuals who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents. These lawyers help victims secure compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, pain and suffering, and other losses resulting from a car crash. They also negotiate with insurance companies, investigate the cause of the accident, and, if necessary, represent clients in court to ensure they receive fair compensation.

If you've been injured in a car accident - whether as a driver, passenger, cyclist, or pedestrian - a car accident lawyer can help protect your rights, navigate the insurance claims process, and ensure you receive the compensation you're entitled to.

When Should I Hire a Car Accident Lawyer?

Consider hiring a car accident lawyer in several situations, especially when the accident results in injuries, property damage, or disputes with the insurance company. Key situations include:

  • Serious injuries: If you’ve suffered significant injuries, such as broken bones, spinal injuries, or traumatic brain injuries, a lawyer can help you seek compensation for medical expenses, future treatment, and pain and suffering.
  • Disputes with the insurance company: If your insurance claim has been denied or the insurance company offers an unreasonably low settlement, a lawyer can negotiate on your behalf to ensure you get fair compensation.
  • Liability disputes: If the other driver’s insurance company is disputing fault or claiming you were partially at fault, a lawyer can gather evidence to prove the other party’s negligence.
  • Wrongful death: If a loved one was killed in a car accident, a lawyer can help the family pursue a wrongful death claim to recover compensation for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and other damages.
  • Uninsured or underinsured driver: If the at-fault driver lacks sufficient insurance coverage, a lawyer can help you explore other compensation options, such as filing a claim with your own insurance company.
  • Complex cases: Accidents involving multiple vehicles, commercial trucks, or complicated circumstances require legal expertise to manage complexities and hold all responsible parties accountable.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can help ensure that your rights are protected and that you receive the full compensation you deserve.

What Does a Car Accident Lawyer Do?

A car accident lawyer provides various legal services to help injured individuals pursue compensation for their injuries and losses. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Investigating the accident: Gathering evidence like police reports, witness statements, photos, and video footage to determine how the accident occurred and who was at fault.
  • Filing insurance claims: Assisting clients in filing claims with their insurance company and the at-fault driver’s insurer to ensure all necessary documentation is submitted correctly.
  • Negotiating settlements: Working with insurance adjusters to secure fair compensation for medical bills, property damage, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
  • Calculating damages: Determining the full extent of your damages, including current and future medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, lost income, and non-economic damages like pain and suffering.
  • Handling medical bills: Coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure your medical bills are paid and helping you avoid financial hardship during the claims process.
  • Filing lawsuits: If the insurance company refuses a fair settlement, the lawyer can file a lawsuit and represent you in court.
  • Representing you in court: Presenting your case before a judge and jury, providing evidence and witness testimony to prove negligence and your right to compensation.

How Are Car Accident Lawyers Paid?

Most car accident lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle your case. The key aspects include:

  • Contingency fee: The lawyer’s fee is typically between 25% and 40% of the total settlement or award. You won't pay upfront fees; the lawyer's payment comes from the compensation they recover for you.
  • No fee if no recovery: If the lawyer doesn’t secure compensation for you, you generally don't owe any legal fees.
  • Case expenses: You may be responsible for certain costs related to your case, such as filing fees or expert witness fees. These are usually deducted from the settlement after the lawyer's fee is paid.

Discuss the fee structure during your initial consultation to understand how much you'll owe if your case is successful.

How Much Does a Car Accident Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a car accident lawyer is generally based on the contingency fee arrangement. General estimates include:

  • Contingency fee percentage: Lawyers typically charge between 25% and 40% of the total settlement or award. For example, if you receive a $100,000 settlement and the lawyer's fee is 33%, the lawyer would receive $33,000, and you'd keep the remaining $67,000.
  • Case expenses: Additional costs such as court filing fees, expert witness costs, and administrative fees can range from $1,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on the case complexity.

Ensure you get a clear explanation of fees and expenses during your consultation.

Top Questions to Ask a Car Accident Lawyer

Before hiring a car accident lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with car accident cases?
Confirm the lawyer has handled cases similar to yours, especially involving serious injuries or complex liability issues.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Understand the contingency fee percentage and any additional costs you may incur.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Seek an honest assessment of your case's strengths and potential challenges.
  4. How long will the process take?
Get an estimate of the timeline for settling or taking the case to trial.
  5. Will you handle my case personally?
Ensure you know who will be managing your case and their level of involvement.
  6. What kind of compensation can I expect?
Ask about the types of damages you may be entitled to, including medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

How to Check the Credibility of a Car Accident Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check their bar status: Verify with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  • Review their experience: Look for specialization in personal injury and car accident cases.
  • Read client reviews: Consult platforms like Avvo or Martindale-Hubbell for testimonials and ratings.
  • Ask for references: Request contact information of previous clients willing to discuss their experience.
  • Check professional affiliations: Membership in organizations like the American Association for Justice (AAJ) indicates a commitment to the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Police report: A copy of the accident report filed by the police.
  • Medical records: Documentation of your injuries, treatments, and medical expenses.
  • Photos and videos: Any visual evidence from the accident scene and of your injuries.
  • Insurance information: Copies of your insurance policy and any correspondence with insurance companies.
  • Witness information: Contact details and statements from any witnesses.
  • List of questions: Prepared questions about your case and the legal process.

Being well-prepared helps the lawyer assess your case accurately and advise you on the best course of action.
