I had a profoundly disappointing experience with Sell & Melton. From the outset, the firm's communication was severely lacking, with calls and emails often going unanswered for days. When responses did come, they were often terse and uninformative, leaving me feeling neglected and uninformed about the status of my case. The firm failed to provide the guidance and support I expected, and their apparent lack of interest in my concerns was both frustrating and disheartening.
Moreover, the legal advice and representation I received were subpar. Critical deadlines were missed, and important details were overlooked, which adversely affected the outcome of my case. Despite their high fees, the quality of service was significantly below expectations. This experience not only cost me financially but also caused considerable emotional distress. My first experience with Nelson & Smith was about 12 years ago when my brother was in a horrific car accident, where he fractured a vertebrae. We were lucky to have stumbled upon this firm at the time, but the attentiveness, care and professionalism, of Mr. Smith and his staff, displayed towards my brother and his case are the reasons why we have and will remain lifetime clients. Since then, Nelson & Smith has handled a minor car accident claim of mine, and the workers compensation claim of a friend. I had a BK-7 on my TransUnion report. The date is incorrect. It shows from 2016 but BK was in 2012. I also had 60 days late on a car loan from 2019, no collection and charge off Citi bank from 2019 paid. Started rebuilding December 2021 with 522 FICO 8 but none of the strategies worked. I followed all really good advice on journaling my accident injuries and recovery. I was a little taken aback that the information needed to verify my employmnet was not secured in a timely manner after I was terminated. It was at least 2 months after my severence that I was informed of a need to get my former employer records. I thought that this was completely up to the legal representative to get the information. I did assist as much as i could. I guess I was feeling that the process was so long ,that I needed more updates consistently. Overall it was good towards the end of my rehab and recovery. The longest issue I guess was the billing errors on the part of the insurance company and the hospital. I did feel better after actually meeting my lawyer . Very very nice. I am glad I contacted the law firm,]. They answered my call immediately. They have been with me now a year and a half trying to get everything straight.
I would highly recommend the services.

Cassandra laughed at me when I explained to her my situation, Cassandra also explained to me that it’s “all about money” when it comes to the business. A few days after I posted my review on Google Mr.Malone reached out to me condemning her actions and explaining to me how it works, and essentially it is about the money because it can cost almost 500k to get your case started. After talking with him I removed my review from google because he seemed sincere. However I just want someone to understand for me it’s the principle and not about the money. I sent all my records over to Mr.Malone around 06/04/2024 and sent an email on 06/22/2024 for an update. Mr.Malone informed me that he would look over my files and get back with me in about a week and if he couldnt help he would refer me to someone who possibly would be able to. I have not heard back, and I’m done, basically if you didn’t lose a limb your case will not be taken seriously and the doctor can do anything to you with no consequences. It’s really sad that everytime I’ve needed a workplace enviorment lawyer or a negligence lawyer this is the energy I have gotten. If you only signed up for the more lucrative cases you’re already doing it wrong. I’m just going to leave this firm to itself. I am leaving my review up and cutting contact. Hopefully I can find someone who is willing to do it for the right reasons. This has been very traumatic for me and I just want someone that is doing it for the right reasons.

I found this attorney to be unexperienced with resolving a driving on suspension charge. When first obtained, we were confident in a positive outcome. She was made aware of the difficulties that we were facing with getting the driver's license restored. As time went on we were not offered a solution. She kept half of the money and withdrew from the case when we could not accept her lack of resolution or effort.

I haven’t even settled yet and I’m regretting going with this law firm. Im in the process of waiting for an offer, which I know takes time. My issue is I’ve been calling leaving messages with their answering service to have someone call me back so that I could check the status on my case. It’s been 3 weeks and STILL have not gotten a call back. Again, I know stuff like this takes time, but at least have the common courtesy to give me a call back, especially if I’m only calling to get a status on my case. I’m thinking about dropping Bethune, and just hiring another attorney. This is ridiculous!
Update: Please stay away from this law group! The absolute WORSE! So I went through with firing Bethune and hiring another law group to handle my case. Bethune is the most money hungry law firm I’ve dealt with in my life. I should’ve known to run when I found out I was pregnant back in May and could no longer continue my treatment. Bethune law firm suggested that I waited until January 2025 for me to have my baby, then continue my treatment. Today, I received an email with a copy of an attorney lien basically saying I owe them $5400 for doing absolutely NOTHING! Funny how when I was calling every week to get a status update on case, nobody would contact me back. Now they want money?? This is absolutely ridiculous! All they care about is All State cutting a check for the whole $100,000. Such a greedy a** law firm.

I had this firm on retainer for the last 6 or so years for a child custody matter as i live out of state at first they were great but since 2021 they started raising there rates and billing thousands of dollars with no communication with me when there was nothing going on in my case then when I dispute the charges it takes 6 months for the attorney to call me about it had a discussion about how to end the case and the fraudulent billing and was told she was going to fix the problem received a email a few days later that they were removing themselves from my case and refused to talk further just continued to send billing statements worse lawfirm if you have a case that isn't quick and easy
Beware anyone who has them or is looking at hiring them in the savannah area be prepared to be ripped off
Ps To owner maybe pay attention to your lawfirm and less about your podcasts and seminars
Im sure I'll get some bs auto response from owner just know I had too finish my case myself and did a better job with better outcome then with them representing me and didn't cost me thousands of dollars magic
