She doesn't deserve even one star. I got nothing from this office since I signed the contract which has been a month. All the information I got was from the first free consultation. Lack of communication, frequent small errors, empty promises made me upset. Why would I pay for this kind of service? Would I want this person to represent me? No, I'm breaking up with her. I'll let you know how much she returns from my retainer.

CAUTION! Michelle Cohen- Huggies is NOT to be trusted. It is only a matter of time before the claims of her unethical tactics become proven and she is disbarred. I too, have experienced her attempt to win by default and lie that I was properly served for an unlawful detainer. filed for a motion to quash (must be within 5 days from when served) and was dismissed. If you are her opposing council, do not under estimate her willingness to lie, cheat or steal!

Beyond rude to people trying to do the right thing and pay off an debit. They refuse to send you anything via the mail such as receipts or agreements for payment contract but want your debit card info, imagine that. The employee Aaron i spoke with hung up on me when asking how we’d go about sending receipts and placed me on hold about 20 times in our hour long bs conversation. Hopefully I’ll be able to speak to someone perfessional to get this resolved as that’s what I was attempting to do.

Amy took my case at the last minute for a move away order that was being contested. She went above and beyond, working after hours to make sure that she knew my case in and out and could represent me as best as possible. My move away was granted, and even after the trial, Amy ensured that I got everything I needed as far as a signed order and helping get my children over to me, as I had to leave the state immediately on military orders. I will absolutely be using her again in the future if the need arises in family court.

Ms. Beckman did nothing to fight for me. She never called to tell me that the divorce was finalized. I called for an update one day and she screamed at me...not raised her voice, not yelled but screamed. The next day she sent me a bill for her services.

Karen is an EXCELLENT Attorney. She is well versed, well spoken and detail oriented. She thinks of the unthinkable as it relates to defending her client. Keeping her client well informed of all possible outcomes appears to be a motto of hers. Then she strategically and systematically fights for you with everything she has. Justin belittled me consistently and billed every second without answering the questions I had. He would interrupt when I was trying to clarify the legal process. His out of country location makes him hard to use for in person family court with an aggressive style and lack of patience or compassion.And would not meet expectations that he had set.

Justin Kirk Tabayoyon was a blessing to me. I was served with papers to not take my son out of state two days before my move, even though my sons father agreed on my move, and only had one entire day to find an attorney before my hearing. I interviewed several attorneys and chose Justin because he seemed so knowledgeable about the local law enforcement, legal admin and judges. It was a very difficult time in my life and he made it all possible for my son and I to move out of state in an acceptable timely manner. He wasn’t the cheapest attorney, but I’ve gone down that road before and accomplished nothing. Ive never had any billing issues with him. Either way, fighting anything is not cheap and I say he was worth EVERY penny. Thank you so much Justin Kirk Tabayoyon!!!

Ms. Snider is very knowledgeable, ethical, hard-working and tenacious. Her services are especially indispensable if the case is infected by evasiveness, dishonesty, or even outright fraud emanating from the opposing party. In my case, she obtained a much-needed modification of a particularly onerous spousal support obligation that had been negotiated by another attorney years earlier. She refused to tolerate evasive, incomplete, non-compliant discovery responses from the other party and mopped the courtroom floor with two different experienced Sacramento family law attorneys in the process. I am extremely grateful for Ms. Snider's efforts on my behalf, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Our case was HIGHLY litigious, and we had to fight against corruption, fraud, cyberstalking, and other forms of severe harassment perpetrated by the abusive father, his corrupt attorney, and bribed "experts." I have to disagree with the negative reviews on here. I hired Mr. Pinsky to handle my divorce. He was extremely knowledgeable, and thorough. He was very clear about the expectations of my case, and I ended up with a great settlement. Even after the divorce was finalized and other issues came up, Rand was always available to take my calls or answer my emails. Just recently we had to go back to court over alimony, and thanks to Rand, I ended up getting twice the amount the ex wanted to pay. I found him to be very professional, patient, and organized and would not hesitate to refer to him to friends.

I hired Rand Pinsky concerning child support issue. This was the worst mistake I had ever made. He didn't have any ambition for helping me in my case and no concern for my young daughter. He just agreed with the plaintiff's lawyer ; be never tried to fight for me at all. I would of been much better off representing myself, I trusted him to do a good job for me; instead he talked me into signing to agree with plaintiff with out myself fulling understand what he was convincing me to do. Needless to say now my young child and I are struggling much worse since child support was decreased by 50%.
I fired Pinsky soon after that ; then he refused to return the remainder of my retainer deposit. Before I started using him as my lawyer I asked about if I don't use all the money in retainer for his services -I will be reimbursed for the unused amount and he said ,yes ! But lied, he said he won't reinburse the unused money after all. He tried avoiding all my calls and hanging up on me. His secretary apparently was told to ignore all my calls, also. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company just to get my money back.
Avoid this lawyer so you don't have to experience what I had to. He will act friendly to you at first, but he only wants easy money, he doesn't care about his customers well being at all. Please don't be fooled by his lies, he'll only make things worse for you if you hire him.

If you're looking for a divorce attorney who is not above lying, playing tricks, refusing to meet and confer with opposing counsel before hearings, and frequently interrupting, talking over and essentially bullying the judge into getting his way, then Eric's your guy. Eric is representing the defendant (my ex) in our divorce case. I have wondered why my many attempts at settlement over the last several months were getting nowhere, despite my ex complaining about the 6-figures in fees he has paid Eric. I now understand why. Using these weasely tactics, Eric has successfully ducked and dodged any spousal support order (we've been separated 2.5 years after a marriage with domestic violence). I wouldn't consider this behavior ethical, but some don't care. Your choice.

This lawyer was the absolute worst lawyer I’ve ever. He wouldn’t ever answer my calls and did absolutely nothing for my case. He was hired and after 6 months never heard from him. And then during the year we had him he did nothing for the case. And somehow all our retainer was used up even though he didn’t even do anything. Get any other lawyer but this one cause he has no care in the world just money hungry.

Mr. Miller has been my attorney for 6 years. He is a great attorney and has won EVERY hearing that my ex has filed against me. He also gotten the Judges to award my ex to pay portions of my attorney fees. His rates are fair and I really enjoyed having him represent me. I currently refer him to everyone I know, even strangers that I meet in my daily life, and I will continue not only refer him to others, but I will continue to use him any time I need legal help. Hasn’t contacted me in 3 months, even though I call every week, and his staff tells me to leave a message. . Hired a new lawyer and found out that I have a pre-trial divorce meeting in one month which he never informed me of. Complete waste of money. Other side’s lawyer said that he never communicates with them. New lawyer says she has same problem with him. Doesn’t do the work!

I went to her free consultation and was blown away by all the information she gave me so I decided to hire her with no doubt that she will do a great job. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I've handed her all the related documents and summarized my case so she can be fully prepared but I was shocked how she came in without reading / learning about my case.
I was very nervous at the hearing so I listened to her advice but all she did was to take the easy way out for her, ignoring the best interest in me. It seemed like she didn't wanna put effort in protecting me or fighting for my benefit at all. Probably because she wasn't prepare at all. Even the opponent party said, " You should speak up, that's what you are here for "
She came unprepared, her legal knowledge is very limited and she made many mistakes. I was shocked when I read the legal document she created after the court. I needed to point out many of her mistakes. My case included simple calculations and she has an MBA but couldn't get the easiest math correct. I wish I never hired her.
I told my friend who's going through her divorce now that I regret hiring her then she happened to know her. She told me that Lucy's response on avvo was so fast, she was thinking of hiring her too but her emails were not responding to the questions she asked so she ended up not hiring her.
I checked her profile prior to hiring and felt I was very mislead of the " Rising star " award. I don't know how they give out awards but do NOT be mislead by that because it didn't apply in my case. The receivers is the worst performer in court.
She did such a lousy job. I never write reviews but decided to post here to save another me.

I has assumed my daughter would get advice and assurance when we hired Ron it’s seems these days he so busy he can barely return phone calls or emails. Have had two appointments by phone both of which I had to call because he apparently was running late. My daughter has been left without communication and a timeline we have spend our retainer and nothing has been finalized and have no direction as to how this might end. Frustrated and sorry my daughter retained Ron when he is so busy with his other cases. We hired him expecting advice assurance and resolution. Still waiting in limbo. He’s a nice man and other reviews appreciate his skills . I had hope for similar experiences.

Ron Marquez was assign by the court to be the Child's Advocate Attorney for my 2 pre-teen kids. This was a heavily litigated case over the past 2.5 years. Ron barley glanced at the court files and spent less than 20 minutes with my children.
On the date of the trial Ron was reprimanded multiple times by the judge for not knowing the details of the case. Ron simply wanted to maintain a 50/50 custody timeshare. Ron made no attempt to represent the wants or needs of the children he was hired to advocate for.
At the end of the trial the judge relieved him of his duties involving the case.
I have seen many child custody cases of the years and Ron was the least prepared and knowledgeable lawyer I have seen to date. He was unconcerned for the wants and needs of the children he was suppose to represent.

Mr. Marquez seemed to have the right things to say but it was obvious that he takes the short road to end a case. Frivolous meetings, expensive email and phone charges and change of venue at court time make it very expensive and fruitless. He did not support the case when it was court time, manipulating his client with nonsense and pressuring his client to settle in the opposing clients agenda. Attempts to talk to his boss or anyone in his office was impossible, no return calls or emails to resolve this issue. He also has a pending issue with the CA State Bar that he did not disclose.

Hired to help with my nasty divorce. I’m a professional business woman and my ex was attempting to steal our assets and my income by making false claims of abuse to simply increase his chances of getting large support orders. Mr. Rinaldelli and his office staff were very helpful in guiding me through the frustrations of the whole divorce process. He really made me feel like her cared about me and my situation and helping get me to a better new life beyond my failed marriage. Was very aggressive in court and very sharp and saw all the angles my ex and his lawyer were trying to employ. After a tough battle he was able to convince the court of my ex’s lies and I didn’t have to pay any support whatsoever. And he accomplished all of this in less than six months even though my ex was trying to drag the case on to force me to pay his lawyers fees and pressure me to settle. In the end I had to pay no support, no attorney fees, and was granted a restraining order against my ex. Mr. Rinaldelli and his office really helped me to move past my divorce and I’m very thankful. He was also very reasonable in his payment arrangements, discounts, and overall fees. I believe my ex paid his lawyer almost twice what I paid Mr. Rinaldelli and he lost almost everything he wanted. Hire Mr. Rinaldelli for a child custody modification. All paperwork was given to him within 2 days of retaining him, it took him over 7 months to file my paperwork. I had called, emailed, left message after message only to be ignored for months. Once I finally did speak to him he just gave excuse after excuse. He was highly recommended by a past client that is why I didn't just fire him. He agreed to two continuous' without even consulting me. Once we finally did go to court SIX months after the filing date due to continuous after continuous he was great. Very professional and does know the law very well. But it should not take over a year for a simple modification. An order after hearing was never filed by him although I did request one several times. If he only would be respectful of his clients time and money outside of the court room he would be great.

Not so great. Everyone got riled up, whick he did on purpose, and that went poorly in court. We ran around preparing for an eminent trial that never happened and the preparation was exceedingly expensive.
A new attorney sorted things out right away, and knew what to do
in court and how to negotiate successfully beforehand.

Just too many instances to mention with this 4k character limit, but I will squeeze in as much as possible. In 2002 I found myself in heartbreak hell. My girlfriend at the time decided after a ten year relationship and a beautiful 2 year old daughter that she wanted to call it quits.. She knew she had the control box to my heartstrings (my baby girl). So of course she ran with it. My daughter brought to me unconditional love. Now her mother was trying to prevent me to embrace it. So naturally, family courthouse found its next victims. Things were not going as well for her as she planned so she upped the anni a bit and decided to cut her arm and say I did it even though I was 25 miles away from her in a completely different city. The facts didn't seem to matter at that point because she had rallied up the officers so much that I was going to jail regardless of the facts. Next thing I know I am in jail with a false DV charge. So that sets the stage, along with, supervised visits, my 2 year old daughter was now living in a 1 bdrm apt with mom and new boyfriend illegally, unlawfully calling my probation officer and councilors telling them lies such as I'm stalking her and she is afraid for there lives so the police come and arrest me. This happened on 5 different occasions, including one time while I was at work, another was on my daughters b-day and while the guests were arriving I was handcuffed on my way downtown, and when my mother came to visit from out of state. She would also have my daughter call me at work at 7am crying with the words "I miss you daddy" then ripping the phone away from her saying "ok we got to go" all I hear is my daughter crying before hanging up. The pain was unbearable. Thats about the time Mr Tillman came into my life. I was wounded so bad there were times I could not talk. Seriously couldn't think right. I was at the lowest point possible. I was so bad that often times when I tried to speak my point I would reach mid sentence and completely lose focus and forget what I was actually talking about.. Pat would get upset with me asking if I was on drugs, and if I was, he wasn't going to represent me because he himself didn't want me raising my daughter if I was high. Thats when I knew Pat was a stand up righteous man and didn't tolerate any bullshit. So shortly after hiring Pat things started looking up. By him sorting through all facts and docs he quickly seen how the ex was manipulating the system, and doing a hell of a good job at it.
What happens next is why I consider Pat my real life super hero and why I will forever be indebted to him. I didn't realize it at the time, but as he was gaining me credibility in the eyes of the court by strategically bringing the truth to light. He was also molding me bringing me back to life. Chopping up all the lies and false accusations fully discrediting the ex and all the garbage that came out of her mouth. He subpoenaed the councilors that were over stepping there boundaries by making recommendations to judges based on unethical non permitted phone conversations and strictly prohibited meetings with the ex. One councilor in particular at "new Beginnings" met personally with her twice and one 45 min phone conversation. The councilor "Sally Dandenberg" new this was unacceptable business practice and arrogantly denied the accusations. Then to everyones amazement Pat produced the original recommendation note Sally had given to the judge and so arrogantly denied ever existed. The news of our victory and Sally's pathetic pity tears quickly reached my probation officer. Fearful of receiving one of Pat's anti corruption subpoena slaps, my probation officer had signed off on my remaining 3 years probation term, for he knew he was guilty for punishing me based on the ex's false accusations.

Initially, I had an attorney dragging my case out, “nickel and diming” me along the way. I dismissed her from my case and filed a substitution of attorney with Mr. Urquhart. He took my case that turned into a trial, and helped me (a father) win custody of my child that allowed us to move out of state. Mr. Urquhart and his staff handled my custody case with amazing attention to detail. Anytime I had a question he, or his legal assistant, were always quick to answer it. I would highly recommend Mr. Urquhart to anyone!

Arrogant, non-communicative, combative with his own client, argumentative and defensive when questioned. What's not to like? He works part-time in Vacaville so you're at the mercy of his schedule of being in the office about 2 weeks a month. He doesn't like answering questions other than in the most brusque and dismissive manner. It was really an appalling waste of money and I terminated his services.

Update: I still haven’t received confirmation from Mr. Tepper in regards to removing themselves from my case. Mr. Tepper and his firm has essentially abandoned the case. I also asked for a partial refund considering there’s no way they went through $9000 over the past 1.5 years but they haven’t responded to that either and I likely won’t ever get my money back.
I retained Mr. Tepper for my custody case over the past six years. Unfortunately, I had to request that he withdraw from my case due to mishandling and significant delays.
In 2023, I hired Mr. Tepper to handle both a child custody modification and a child support modification. However, at the hearing, the child support matter was never addressed, and only a partial stipulation was reached for the custody. I was under the impression that the agreement covered all aspects of the case, but that was not the case.
The opposing party later backed out of the stipulation, requiring the case to be brought back to court. I immediately retained Mr. Tepper again, at which point he required an additional retainer fee. Despite this, his firm took ten months to file the case.
At the first court hearing in January 2025, the judge appeared confused by the filing. Instead of clarifying our objectives or advocating on my behalf, Mr. Tepper requested to dismiss the case with the intention of refiling a new Request for Order (RFO). After the hearing, he initially assured me he would file a new RFO, but the following day, he told me he would first speak with the opposing party’s attorney.
After that, Mr. Tepper became unresponsive. I have had to call the police multiple times during child exchanges due to issues with the opposing party. Despite these serious developments, Mr. Tepper has failed to respond or even communicate with the opposing party’s attorney regarding these matters.
Overall, I have paid Mr. Tepper $9,000 since 2023 to modify child custody, yet the case has become a giant mess. Nothing has been resolved, and I have now been forced to retain a new attorney to fix the damage caused by these delays and mismanagement.
Given the mishandling of my case, the excessive delays, and the lack of communication, I can no longer recommend Mr. Tepper’s legal services.

Scott Tepper blocked my phone number after telling me that he would appear at court for me for a setting date. He never advocated for the reunification of my child. He didn’t even know my case after 2 years of being his client. If I could rate him 0 stars I would. He’s the embodiment of the lack of understanding and class in our county.

At first, everything seemed great and very promising. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience to help others avoid what I went through.
I paid this attorney thousands of dollars, but in the end, absolutely nothing was accomplished. It felt like they were draggingtheir feet the entire time, and at moments, it seemed as if they were representing my ex-husband instead of me. Thankfully, I didn’t have any children with my ex-husband—otherwise, I can’t imagine how much worse things could have been.
Please do your research and find an attorney that someone you trust has actually used and recommended. Even then, proceed with caution. In my experience, the Najera Law Group was only in it for the money.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. If you are looking to waste your money without any results then Travis Whitfield is for you.
I have been dealing with my divorce, child custody, and child support issues for over a year now. Travis and his team got involved and screwed that all up. Everything has been delayed due to him fumbling with the case. He paid little to no attention to the case and passed it along to multiple associates and paralegals to WASTE your money.
Throughout my case, most of the time when they sent over documents for me to review and sign, I always had them correct one thing or another, they were hardly ever accurate. Yet, they still billed me to correct THEIR mistakes. There is a long laundry list with this law firm.
If I can help at least 1 person avoid this law firm; I have done my job. You don't want to add to your problems during your hard times looking for a capable lawyer. Don't waste your time and money with this law firm.

I got a recommendation to check this lawyer for my divorce by a friend I say whose judgment I could trust. He asked what I wanted.
I said I want to make it as amicable as possible, I want what is fair, I want my peace, my freedom and most of all I want my kids to go through this as smoothly as possible. As long as I have my health, peace of mind, stable job and an option for my children to go to (their mom as I have learned exhibit strong narcisisstic traits which finally explained everything that troubled me all those years). His other question relevant : Do you think your wife is going to make this very difficult for you? My response was " Absolutely 100% she did not have to make threats that she is going to make it like hell for me, I knew"
He convinced me with these words:
I will fight for what is right for you and her
I do not tolerate using the children as leverage
I am not one who try to squeeze the other party unfairly
We move with the children welfare always the priority.
I said I am in. This was me filing for a divorce I tried all I can to work out for 20 years only to realize 18 years that nothing will ever change.
The promises not one of it were ever even came close to even get a jumpstart.
the best words he made were after the first court day in which I was shell shocked he did not do or say anything to advance or make known our contentions. The very first court day a few minutes before we even were called in to the courtroom I knew then that I made a very big mistake. As we were preparing all that I would say what about my, what about the, and what not. His one and best answer amongst was maybe we can add that in the next court day this is just the start!
When the proposals came and I so much had disagreement to some claims that were so absurd as we went along each proposal. Some I had no idea whatsoever how to proceed I asked what can you say, what legal advice can you give me. The best answer he has made was " well I do not know you are the one who has to decide what you want to do with it I am just putting note to make sure that we represent exactly what you want and how you wanted. One other answer he made was I do not deal with those financial stuff. It is not my line of specialty. So I asked maybe he can give me recommendations who to contact after all he has more than 2 decades at least of doing his job. But no he referred me to his secretary. First secretary left a few months after . I have a pending heart surgery. My job security is non existent, there is an active deliberate operation to try to get rid of me. My lawyer knew this so I am lagging with my payment of his services which is just about the only thing they are good in communicating with me. Now he is asking to be relieved from being his representative due to an irreparable relationship and an outstanding service fee. There never was an representation nor there ever was a relationship. I know nothing about law but I have common sense and I am in customer service. I am actively looking for a new lawyer that can simply just represent me for what is legally fair for me, the wife and the kids.
I did not know I hired a paralegal.

Beyond rude to people trying to do the right thing and pay off an debit. They refuse to send you anything via the mail such as receipts or agreements for payment contract but want your debit card info, imagine that. The employee Aaron i spoke with hung up on me when asking how we’d go about sending receipts and placed me on hold about 20 times in our hour long bs conversation. Hopefully I’ll be able to speak to someone perfessional to get this resolved as that’s what I was attempting to do.

From my own personal opinion and experience Ms. attorney Koliwer did not represent me well during my custody case. I found her knowledge of the law writing response motions to be almost non existent. I asked her several times to present evidence in which she repeatedly declined and was non responsive during our emails. I would never recommend her to anyone to ever attempt to acquire her legal services. I‘m in the process of gathering the evidence to submit a complaint to the California bar.

Kandy No showed appointments with me. She did not know the facts of my case. She did not present to the court clear and convincing evidence that I provided to her. This is not something I typically do - writing a review for an attorney - but thanks to an “unhealthy” and highly litigious ex-wife, I’ve had more lawyers in my life than I care to admit. Since I unfortunately have a lot of experience within the family law system, I can say with the utmost confidence that Lorie Nachlis, without question, is the best family law attorney you will ever find.

[Disclaimer] I did not hire Nachlis Cohade Lopez-Whitaker LLP (NCLW) for family law services, I am only sharing my experience in their evaluation/intake process. I was searching for family law services and reached out to NCLW via website, email, and phone 4 times over a two week period before getting a response back from them. Once I was able to connect with someone from NCLW, we set about scheduling a consultation but communication & expectation-setting around their process was piecemeal. I characterize my overall experience with them as unresponsive and unprofessional.

Marnie is incapable of handling a litigated case. Her reputation is such. She fails to respond to OC (months on end) putting you at risk. She is unable to create a strategic plan. She will bill you for years, not produce anything, then attempt to prep a 5 day trial from scratch in a couple hours on a weekend, ensuring your loss in the case and loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars. It’s intentional.
The firm loses documents and makes grave errors on documents. They overcharge to correct their own errors. The firm “sells hard” to get new clients but has no intention of doing the work. Many are forced to leave but only to find she will fabricate fraudulent billing statements long after you’ve left.
