I engaged John Dubiel at Bristol & Dubiel LLP to assist me in obtaining a judgement for an overdue debt of close to $1.0 million. John was responsive and did a great job of working with me on the debt. The debtor came up with all kinds of crazy excuses/affidavits but through John's excellent legal work and guidance we were able to obtain a summary judgement for the whole amount and everything we asked for. A coworker that knew I needed a divorce attorney recommended Jan in 2007. I'm Asian and at the time spoke limited English. She patiently listened to my story and assured me that she could help. I suggested having a translator for the court room but Jan told me that she understood me well and that together we would present the case. She turned an impossible situation into a very good settlement for me and my children.
Since then I think of Jan as a friend I can reach out to for any legal needs including my will, healthcare and durable powers of attorney.
Most recently she helped my son with his own child custody settlement.
If you need legal help I highly recommend Jan Holleywell-Smith, she is a very good attorney.

This law firm I still believe is a good firm to represent your case. Although, I tried to retain them most recently. My review is regarding the intake staff personnel Sarah. Sarah’s professionalism, communication, and ability to listen and assist a client is subpar. First call, I specifically asked for a particular attorney, she then suggested another attorney. Due to them moving into the Dallas office the next day, she advised to give her until the following week for someone to contact me. I was patient and in that waiting time, decided I would go with her suggestion as the Dallas attorney was more affordable, closer, and honestly had stronger credentials. Never got the follow-up call. I called and she only kept trying to redirect me. There were some back and forth and I ended up requesting for one of the Managing Partners to respond to a specific request. Guess what, she follows up without ever asking but comes back with a generic response. Keep in mind, this is after waiting another week for the MP to return. I had to wait for her to go back to ask the original request. Long story short, her mannerism doesn't display trustworthiness, but a person who appears to want to do her own thing. I still don’t believe she communicated properly to the MP. It appears that she may not have the client nor the firms' best interest in mind. In my opinion she doesn’t need to be at the forefront when she has created weeks of delay and roadblocks, and she was made aware that I was referred by a reputable friend of this firm.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to find the right attorney for a divorce. I had already hired a different attorney for my divorce proceedings and then needed to find an attorney that specialized in Education, which is where I came across Marianne and her Avvo profile. After speaking with her, I knew right away that she was the right attorney for me and hired her to take care of my situation with the university. Within a week or so, Marianne seamlessly handled my situation with the university without any hassle on my part, and I knew I wanted her on board to be involved with my divorce. Since the current divorce attorney was charging so much and falling short with results, I fired that attorney and retained Marianne. Let me tell you, it was night and day after that point and Marianne once again took care of business and gave me the results I wanted in my divorce.
She is extremely professional, always on top of what is going on, excellent with communication, extremely patient, and very fair with billing. I would never hesitate to recommend her to any friends and family that are in need of an attorney that specializes in the fields of Education or Family Law. Hands down easy peasy experience working with this firm! I was referred to Trujillo Gonzalez by my best friend whom had unfortunately been in a similar situation with an auto accident. I am so happy I called, they fought for me until we reached the best deal we possibly could and from expecting nothing and being so disappointed with the whole system- Trujillo González came in and gave me the biggest surprise with a compensation far greater than expected!

My experience with attorneys has not always been good. In going through my divorce I had to fire my first attorney because she failed to meet deadlines and didn't have the acuity to grasp the intricacies of my case. My case was complex, involved the control of a business and we were facing unscrupulous opposition who had no problem perjuring themselves multiple times.
Once I hired Ben things changed. Billing was honest and reasonable. Ben handled himself well in multiple hearings against a barrage of misinformation.
I wish Ben had been the first attorney I hired. It would have saved me a lot of money. Ben was able to grasp the right legal argument at the right time in order show the judge the information and the precedents that would guide his decisions.
My divorce is now final. I kept control of the business and reached an acceptable settlement. The settlement became possible only because opposing counsel was not successful in selling their position to the judge.
Opposing counsel told my X to settle because she wasn't going to trial. It was a long drawn out process because what opposing counsel was asking for was not reasonable and they were distorting the facts.
Part of opposing counsels strategy was to cause me so much financial pain I would pay anything to stop the bleeding. It was only through Ben's competence and integrity that I was able to survive the process.
I give Ben my highest recommendation that is backed up with the war stories to prove his legal skills.

I had a great experience with Roland Barbosa representing me in my divorce. It's never a pleasant experience to go through the legal process of divorce, but Roland made it simple and straightforward and provided numerous updates (and answers to my several questions) as I waited for the (long and slow) Dallas County courts to sign the paperwork that had been sitting on their docket for over 2 weeks. An uncontested, amicable divorce should be easy, and despite the draconian Texas laws, Roland helped make the process as easy as it could be. When the divorce decree was finally signed, he gave me an update even before the electronic system registered a change in the case. His fee is straightforward, and he provided all the paperwork we needed for all the potential steps in the case, from initial questionnaire to final filing and special warranty deed for the transfer of the home. I met with Jere a few months ago, in a simple consultation, and he was fantastic. His knowledge of the law was more than evident, he listened to a pretty complex saga and gave us some terrific advice. He is respectful (which is VERY rare), I felt heard, validated and felt like anyone would be in great hands with him. Paulette Mueller made my grandmothers estate go broke, made her delinquent on her taxes (simply did not file) cancelled our homeowners insurance and accepted only roughly 8k on a full coverage 250k+ policy which has led to black mold growing in the home my grandparents built by hand making my baby very sick. Made disgusting remarks about our home upon inspection in regards to a guardianship proceeding while we remained polite and courteous despite the situation, and now, at the ripe age of 21 I am in therapy full time over the horrific consequences she and (others involved) caused that have now fallen upon my shoulders. I am utterly disappointed, and heartbroken. I will never be the same. My grandmother died in vain, under ungodly amounts of stress. May God guide Paulette to have a heart full of empathy and compassion towards her future victims. Only the Lord knows the amount of trauma and havoc she reaped on my beautiful grandmother. May God guide her to remain in a mindset of kindness, and fairness, as I wouldn’t wish this turmoil on anyone. But as my grandmother would want me to live, I forgive her. I only hope for her growth and progress in a positive direction for the future. I. Will. Never. Be. The. Same. I am gone. At the age of 21, I am now a shell of who I once was. The person that raised me from diapers, put me into college, got my first car, carried herself in such a generous and Godly manner, died in vain. May God rest her beautiful soul, because now her pain and stressors have become an everyday part of my life. The only human beings that loved me unconditionally, my grandparents(parents), are now dead and gone forever, and I am alone in this scary world. I hope Paulette can see my review as more than a mere critique but an insight to my new reality, and hopefully, some of what I said will invite a new presence of good faith to her future clients, not only for the benefit of them, but for her conscious as well.
