Larry Martin is an effective lawyer who knows how to get the job done, but in my experience the communication and follow through after the verdict fell short.
I hired Mr. Martin to address a divorce/custody issue. Even though the verdict was a success. The follow through was a 2.5 /3 on a 5 point scale.
The attention to reviewing information that was provided to Larry or his team. Resulted in countless emails/phone calls back and forth only for myself to reiterate the information had previously been received by his team.
In addition, I wouldn’t say don’t hire Larry. I would say understand what your getting, set expectations on communications, and ensure his team is held accountable for every document their reviewing for you.

When you need the best, the very best, then there is truly only one lawyer in Family and Divorce law and that attorney is Mr. Martin. . An extremely effective leader of people, Larry astounded me with his strategic ability, resourcefulness, and determination. Additionally, his technical expertise in family and divorce law is nationally respected and rightfully so. In my view, there is no such thing as an easy divorce and mine was very complex, performed under extreme discourse between the parties and to apply a little added pressure to the situation a client (me) who due to health issues was not as helpful as most clients can be. Larry took t all in stride. His “Game Plan” was second to none. Mr. Martin is an action-oriented, detail-focused, high performance individual. He is willing to take both ownership and accountability, and can lucidly present his conclusions that are always extremely well supported. Putting aside all of the technical skill and acumen of Larry, Mr. Martin is one the few people that has truly remained a simply “Nice Guy.” Someone, who after you go through one of the most trying events you can experience in life and come out on the other side, you just want to call him friend. Larry is someone I am very pleased to and do highly recommend without any reservation.

Over a year ago I got a red light ticket in Dallas and Meyer Friedman Reed got it dismissed.

Mr. Turner was recommended to me by some one on Nextdoor. I just asked my wife for a divorce, and didn't know where to turn for the next step. It was like finding a Consumer Reports Best Buy in legal services. He isn't the cheapest, but he wasn't the most expensive either. His value proved itself many times over. If you find yourself looking for an attorney, please consider him.
My wife hired a one of those expensive lawyers, ranked as one of the top 100 Lawyers of Texas, and fought over the garden hose.
From my initial meeting with Atty Turner, I knew I had some one on my side. Little did he know how contentious this divorce would be, yet, he stuck through it till the end, and despite my wife spending tens of thousands of dollars on her “high powered” attorney, she still had to pay me to end the marriage.
It took almost 18 months, endless discovery, mediation, and a bit of frustration, but he never gave up. All my friends said men don't get a fair shake in divorce here in Texas. I think that's because they didn't hire Attorney Andrew Turner, of the Turner law Firm.

I had an opportunity to work with Atty. Andrew Turner. I had an out of state custody case. Since I was long distance, we spoke several times via phone. Mr. Turner was well knowledgeable and took my case without even meeting me in person. I thought that was very admirable. I am grateful that he was able to take my case. For the second hearing, I was able to meet with him and trusted his advice. Well, we came out victorious!

I cannot stress enough how important it is to find the right attorney for a divorce. I had already hired a different attorney for my divorce proceedings and then needed to find an attorney that specialized in Education, which is where I came across Marianne and her Avvo profile. After speaking with her, I knew right away that she was the right attorney for me and hired her to take care of my situation with the university. Within a week or so, Marianne seamlessly handled my situation with the university without any hassle on my part, and I knew I wanted her on board to be involved with my divorce. Since the current divorce attorney was charging so much and falling short with results, I fired that attorney and retained Marianne. Let me tell you, it was night and day after that point and Marianne once again took care of business and gave me the results I wanted in my divorce.
She is extremely professional, always on top of what is going on, excellent with communication, extremely patient, and very fair with billing. I would never hesitate to recommend her to any friends and family that are in need of an attorney that specializes in the fields of Education or Family Law. I am a lawyer, but this time I was the client. Ms. Rardin handled the probate of my father's estate. As a lawyer, I know when an attorney is doing a good job, and Ms. Rardin did a great job. I know she handles multi million dollar estates. My case was not nearly as complicated as that, but I never felt like she had something more important to do than take care of me as a client. Her fees were very reasonable.

Unfortunately, I have to click on at least one star to be able to post this, and even that is more than undeserved. In short - move on, look elsewhere. These human beings will destroy you mentally and emotionally. There are truly genuine attorneys out there and this law firm IS NOT ONE OF THEM.....Vickers Cunningham thought it was wise to show up to our family member's first hearing having not reviewed the entire case information, having not taking the time to have a conversation with her to get to know her and what he was representing, and filing for a form of relief that he knew (or should of known "being a judge") that she did not qualify for. He waisted precious time and never truly fought for us. Initially, all legal advice was communicated to us through his paralegal, Rose Flores, who never shied away from being unprofessional, unkind, rude, and heartless. We were desperate. Prior to meeting with these people, we had read reviews on them regarding racial controversies and unprofessionalism and we were so vulnerable that we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt - all because Rose said what we wanted to hear, not knowing we were really signing for what would come next - disheartening emotional and mental stress coming from unprofessionalism, being spoken to like we were uneducated, meaningless human beings, being unable to get questions truly and genuinely answered with patience, and being ultimately betrayed. We only thought we knew what the true meaning of an emotional roller coaster was until we dealt with these people, then we really knew. Rose played out every scenario and nothing she said was. She spoke as she knew the ins and outs. The truth is - they never had the knowledge enough to deal with our case. Our family member's case was a very tough one - that we knew. But had they just had the professionalism, the humanity, and the kind hearts to say "this is beyond our expertise", we would have respected them and had searched elsewhere. Many other attorneys told me it was a case they knew they could not deal with. Rose said - "we do this everyday". And then they went into the hearing clueless, unprepared, and applying for a relief she never was going to qualify for - so did they truly do it every day?...I would never wish bad upon these people despite all the hurt they caused our family and all they ripped away from us financially, mentally and emotionally, but I hope that they learn from their mistakes and strive to become better human beings....God wasn't going to let what they put us through be the end of our story - our attorney to follow stepped right in, being God sent. She was extremely knowledgeable, caring, passionate, genuine with a true fighting spirit. Mr Vickers ended his last conversation with my family member in saying there was nothing he could do for her, she would have to hope that she was granted a voluntary departure and when she asked him if "this meant she could never return to her children again", he responded with "If Joe Biden wins...". They had our case for 6 weeks and accomplished nothing but heartaches. Our attorney now had the case 6 weeks and fought and won in 2 different county courts for us, a criminal and an immigration case. Today - we have our family member home and in an even better legal position than she ever was. All this to say - Vickers and Rose destroyed our trust in attorneys, but God sent the right person to fight for us, to win, and to restore our hope and trust. If you do hire these people and they destroy you (I hope it's not the case), don't give up!! Someone out there can and will fight for you!!

Worst experience in my life!!
I recently had an extremely unsatisfactory experience with Bergquist Law Firm. After hiring them to handle a legal matter, I found their communication to be lacking and their representation to be subpar. The lawyers seemed disorganized and unprepared, and I felt like my case was not given the attention it deserved.
Furthermore, I encountered billing issues and unexpected fees that were not transparently communicated to me. This lack of transparency and professionalism left me feeling frustrated and let down.
I would caution anyone considering hiring Bergquist Law Firm to thoroughly research their options and carefully consider whether this firm is the right fit for their legal needs. My experience with them was disappointing and left me questioning the integrity and competence of their legal services.

He went behind my back and drew up an illegal custody arrangement with my ex and pretended to be a non biased attorney "just making sure it was legal". He took away my basic rights as a parent. I was denied even standard order posession when our agreement was supposed to be 50/50. He then screwed me out of $3500 trying to fix his original mistakes because my ex refused to pay him anything even though he was her attorney. I only agreed because I desperately wanted time with my kid. He never filed the modifications. Then laughed in my face when he told me he used his wife Sasha, (who is also his paralegal) as the "psychologist" to clear my ex after she called and told our son she was going to blow her brains out and he would never see his mother again. His wife use to work at Arlington schools as a counselor, not sure how she is qualified to clear a suicide attempt in a custody case. They hid this information falsely under HIPPA rules. My poor kid has seen his mother shoot a gun at me, and dealt with a slew of psychological BS because of this man and his shady practices.

Mary McKnight and I met at the lowest point in my life, recommended highly by a colleague attorney that got thrown off my case for BS from my ex. As soon as we met (just weeks after the loss of her own husband) she reviewed my case looked up at me and smiled a smile that I would grow to look forward to for years. If this shark is in the waters, you better be on his side of the courtroom. Extreme professionalism. Very intelligent. As you explain your situation, he knows the exact thing to do to take care of it. He is on top of things, and you do not have to worry about this law group stalling, forgetting, or losing focus on your case. From the extremely wealthy clients to just average Joe families, Jeff makes you feel as if your case is his top priority. He was very patient with our lack of understanding about some client/lawyer issues, and would always explain things thoroughly. When it comes to strategy and courtroom demeanor, I doubt you will find a close equal in the metroplex. The cost is a bit high for just a regular Joe family, but we knew it was an investment in our kids that could not be overlooked by using an "okay" lawyer. If you want the best, Jeff Anderson is worth the investment. We had another attorney for many years, but we are grateful to Jeff for really helping us understand what the process should actually look like. It is not only that he is a talented attorney, many are, but Jeff has been taking in family law since he was a little boy. I met with Mr. Engel during my free consult. I paid $100 to his firm and he informed me that he may be able to assist with getting my money returned from a debt resolution company. They kept all paperwork. I've called the office since then, on numerous occasions, and the receptionist takes a message and informs me Mr. Engel will contact me. I've still not received any type of communication from this law firm. I won't be hiring them.

This lawyer came highly recommended! He NEVER went and saw his client! He didn’t communicate as he assured he would! Once he got his money it was radio silence! He never informed the family of canceled court dates knowing that they were driving in from Houston! He’s arrogant and very smug! He talked crazy and was very argumentative with my mother who’s a senior citizen! He lied and was very disrespectful and when I asked him to apologize, he said he would but didn’t! This is a stressful time for families and for a PAID attorney to behave this way is unacceptable! This is why SOME PEOPLE don’t like working with attorneys of our own skin! Only reason why they are getting 2 stars is because they won my case.Mainly because the attorney I had there was amazing. But they drove her off near the end of my case and that's when everything went down hill. My case ended in February and I have been waiting for my reimbursement from my trust with them. They have continually said they have sent a check in the mail. But it never comes, I have called multiple times and asked that they wire it back to my account for a month straight and they still refuse to do so. It has been over 6 months and they blatantly refuse to return my money. I would not advise anyone using this firm.
