Joel was my Attorney for 6 years post divorce. He is hands down the reason that my daughter and myself survived a very tumultuous situation that is beyond words and why we finally live in peace. Divorce is a very scary time, and while I was interviewing lawyers to represent me, I immediately felt at ease with Joel. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and was able to calm many of my fears. His explanation of what to expect, and what was realistic was spot on throughout the whole process. My wife and I were blind-sided when my former spouse let us know of her relocation plans with only 30 days notice. We were devastated at the prospect of no longer being able to play a significant role in the lives of my young son and my special needs daughter. I struggled with this review but I think folks need to be aware of Ms. Norman behavior. She’s starts of giving great advice and comes off as sincere. However, she does not listen to her clients or respond timely. She is a terrible communicator. You’re constantly re- submitting documents. You constantly having to proof read her documents since it’s filled with typos. She’s gets dismissive when confronted with concerns and files a motion to remove as attorney after she collects your money under false pretense. You get what you pay for! I would not recommend her if your life depended on it.

Wade was our attorney in 1997-1998. We hired him to complete a "step-parent" adoption. In that process we learned my husband's divorced to his former wife had not been finalized. My husband with the help of Wade immediately filed for divorce (to the ex). We counseled with Wade at that time as of what we - my husband and I needed to do if anything to validate our marriage. Wade said nothing. Stated our marriage would be "retroactive" back to its original date. He then completed the "step parent" adoption. 15 years later and after 20 years of marriage we are learning our marriage was and is void due to the fact we never "married" after that divorce was completed! I called Wade this past week and left 7 messages pleading that he return my call. The last message I left stated if I didn't hear back from him, I would have little choice but to file a complaint. I just needed to know what his reasoning was to advise us not to marry. I was positive once we spoke to him, this would all be cleared up. I had so much faith in him as our attorney and at the time, our Bishop (LDS). His return call left me devastated and in tears. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He just kept saying, "Go ahead Debbie, FILE YOUR COMPLAINT and I'll answer that and ONLY that!" He said, "Oh now I guess you want FREE LEGAL ADVISE!". No Wade, I want you to tell me why you ruined what was about to be a 20 year marriage celebration! I want you to tell me why my now adult daughter still doesn't have a legal father! And although he wasn't hired to do our 2nd "Step-Parent" adoption a year later, it was still completed under the pretense we were a married couple! If there is a reasonable explanation for this, all you had to do was say it. By your tone, attitude and the fact you hung up on me as I sit there crying tells me you KNOW you gave us bad legal advice! Admitting that would accept that responsibility. We trusted you with our family unit. We trusted your knowledge as a certified attorney. You more than let us down. You've destroyed all that we have worked for.

Ashley was especially helpful through the process, staying in constant communication and keeping me up to date on details while being aware of my monthly charges and keeping them in check. As a young father, who is heavily involved with his child. Going through the legal process of fighting for custody or even for the basic standard of Texas can be confusing, frustrating and deflating for a parent. My case was personally challenged with background complexity from a Hague Case child abduction that battle in my origin country that was battled for years. After custody was wrongfully granted to the other parent, the only step pending was to settle the Child Support in accordance to Texas Law where I resided, the complexity of the Hague Case with no established paternity in the USA and no precedent of child support required a firm that will objectively evaluate the Hague Case and have a deep understanding of the Texas Law in order for my case to be successful. Allison and Owen navigated trough all previous files in court in origin country and the state of custody to make sure that paternity & ongoing child support was properly established. The legal team was very passionate in making me understand that the outcome was heavily driven by my preparation for the questions that I had to respond. She ruined me and my kids life's. She's so unprofessional. Has no idea what she is doing and is a complete train wreck. Dealing with her was a nightmare and I of course lost my kids. She seemed to be intoxicated at my court hearings. She could barely talk or stand and kept burping. Please research her name before hiring this lady. Worst mistake of my life.

I live in California. I have law suits in Houston and although i have never retained Candice that has recently become a thing of the past. I have nothing but disdain for attorneys as a general class but there are a few exception. Candice Lee Leonard is one of of the latter. I have consulted with Candace for six years and without her help... OMG! I have retained Candice to close this nightmare. While she may not be the best litigator i have ever met, quite frankly, I have enough experience with her and confidence in her to actually turn my back without worry.

Candice went beyond the call of duty in representing me in a civil matter which involved a matter that our government and especially the Courts dismiss because it is complicated, personal, and is easier to dismiss than confront the issue. The petition submitted was pure genius in its construct, it is to bad she had to deal with unethical colleagues and a week justice. Patricia Hibler "Trish" helped me gain custody of my daughter from her neglectful mother, who was a practicing family attorney herself. She represented me again after my ex tried to regain custody.
She never once "padded" her bill with meaningless expenses, and she was always there for us when we needed her. She never treated us like a client, but more like a friend. There is no other attorney I would ever go to when it comes to family law.

Several years ago I was in the process of a divorce with an attorney that was costing me a fortune and wasn’t getting any results. I hired MS. HIBLER after firing the first attorney. Within 60 days I was divorced and had received a fair settlement from my ex-wife. MS. HIBLER was the most effective attorney I have ever seen practice. Her retainer was much less than the first attorney (actually I received a refund when the case was completed. She knows the law, knows the courts and respects her client’s needs and desires. Her business is based on referrals and we (clients) refer her as often as possible.

I had the worst representation ever with this lawyer. Very painful divorce which she made worst with her bullying. I had no experience what so ever and followed her lead......worst mistake ever. She never fought for my interests and her only interest was to close the mediation process as soon as possible using a "friend" as a mediator. I lost everything because she made me sign a mediation that I had no clue it was a document basically written in stone. She made me believe things could be changed. But, the worst was the bullying...... by phone, email, in person.......She seemed to be on my side until I paid the retainer, after that, it was a painful process, more than the divorce itself.
I would never recommend her not even if my life depended on it.

She was very helpful when it was time to take my money. After that getting her on the phone was impossible. When I did speak with her she was always short and had an attitude. The paperwork she typed up was incorrect and she got an attitude with me for informing her. She didn’t even contact me to let me know my divorce was finalized. I looked it up online and contacted her. She got defensive and told me she done her job and don’t contact her anymore.

My case was assigned to Kim Washington, seemingly an competent lawyer; but after working with her for about ten months, basically continuing work begun four months prior by two of her colleagues, I have come to know differently. Any lawyer earning her fee per hour should be equipped with knowledge and experience that should enable that lawyer to offer sound advice to clients, especially if clients are asking for services that are not offered by the firm anyway!!!
I paid too much money (well over $15,000.00) for a divorce that was never contested, but too much time/expense allocated towards chasing possibilities only to learn later on two occasions that I would have to go outside of the firm for services not offered by the firm, but needed to resolve my issue!!! I hope Ms. Washington will listen carefully to what future clients need/want from her and honestly advise accordingly without unnecessarily compounding costs without delivering on objectives known from the beginning of the process.

Previous to my divorce case, I had never been to court for anything bigger than a traffic ticket so when Chris took on my divorce case, I knew little if anything of the family judicial process. Chris walked me through the steps of what was going to happen and what would be expected of me but also suggested i do my own homework. This was good advice as I learned that divorce cases are not always so straightfoward....(woman files for divorce, woman gets custody of children). This was my expectation as we walked into court but Chris was quick to find the weakness in the opposing side which allowed me to eventually win (for lack of a better word) the day. The bottom line is the decision the judge made, based on Chris's strategy enabled my children to be in the safest post divorce environment. I couldn't ask for more than that. thanks

I hired Mr. Spofford for a custody modification. Soon after a terribly messy divorce I discovered my son was in a chaotic household and I had to make sure he was safe. It took a lot of time and money, but was worth it in the end. Chris was patient, on point and trustworthy. Depositions seemed stressful and chaotic to me but Chris was calm, patient and methodical. Mr. Spofford was able to obtain HPD body cam footage that turned out to be extremely helpful to my case. Chris and Jennifer always responded to calls and emails in a timely fashion, along with making sure I was informed and I understood all aspects of the process. I'm definitely happy with my decision to hire Mr. Spofford.

Based on her reviews I expected a pit-bull in court but got a neutered pomeranian. We spent many hours in prep meetings, getting photo evidence, police reports & compiling teachers, counselors & witnesses; NONE of which were used in court when I thought they would be.
We paid MANY TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars for her to cripple our situation, by not only loosing custody I had, but also costing me support for my kids that refused to even go to the other party's home because of the abuse they endured there.
The very next attorney I hired fixed everything Sinoski broke in only a few months for 1/10 the cost and the other party was no longer allowed to even legally contact again. She's obviously helped SOME people, but she DESTROYED us emotionally, mentally & financially when we trusted her with our family.
Save yourself & hire someone else.

I had the unfortunate experience of meeting this attorney. She promises to mediate but instead facilitates separation of child and parent. If you are African , Nigerian or Muslim, or Latin she’ll help you. She promotes men not paying child support and father’s rights so women watch out . Surprisingly, coming from a woman with four daughters that she would separate children from their parents and promote that. She also didn’t catch a fraudulent document filed with. Run if you come across this woman.

Though most of these reviews are good I am unfortunately going to be the one to break that mold. This woman is an absolute nut-case. Linda Marshall represented our former landlord in a SMALL CLAIMS dispute regarding our deposit (this by the way is an area of law Linda knows absolutely NOTHING about and she proved that lack of knowledge while in court). Prior to the court case (which she delayed time and time again for a year and a half), it was settled via a mediator for a sum to be paid back to us by the landlord. This was after she concocted bogus charges of over $10,000 (an amount of money the Small Claims division does not even deal with). The landlord was ordered to pay within 10-days. On the 10th day the money was received; however, due to my grandmother's illness we had to be back in our home state when the money arrived. Upon our return the money was deposited and a letter drafted for the court and sent. This was obviously NOT within Linda's perceived timeframe because she has proceeded to file a motion demanding $700 for her time to contact the court. A decision made solely by her and NOT her client as he confirmed. I will spend as much of my personal time as it takes letting as many people throughout Houston know about her tactics. Family law??? I wouldn't let my family within 500 yards of this woman...
Last, and this is important for anyone considering hiring Linda, she milks her clients for as much money as she possibly can. She has drained our former landlord to a point that I actually feel sorry for him. She has also taken complete advantage of his lack of knowledge of American laws further draining him of his finances.

I have worked with other attorneys, many of whom very well known, and have excellent reviews, but Ms. Marshall still stands apart due to many reasons: Intelligence, creativity in finding solutions, trustworthiness, and honesty that I have not seen before. She is very detailed oriented, and very sharp in grasping the full picture and dynamics of the relationship. Her creativity is outstanding, and shows well when providing solutions that many other attorneys I consulted with have not even thought of. If you are in an abusive relationship, look no further! She will listen, understand, and figure out how to deal with abusers. But most importantly, she helps others, while expecting nothing in return !! That only speaks for itself.

I’ve unfortunately had Judge Peake preside over my case since 2019, and after six years, I can confidently say she is the least competent judge I’ve ever encountered. My divorce dragged on for over four years, and due to her unclear and inconsistent orders, we’re now back in court for a modification.She frequently dismisses motions based on inaccurate or misleading information and doesn't even take the time to review her own docket. We've shown up to court multiple times, incurring significant costs, only for her to ignore our motions and rule on unrelated issues instead.
Judge Peake is biased, dismissive, and often downright disrespectful. She has dismissed serious abuse claims with little to no consideration, and makes insensitive comments that undermine the very people and families she's sworn to protect.
Her approach seems to be to give one parent full custody, often disregarding the child’s best interests and refusing to consider co-parenting solutions. How is that acceptable?
Her slogan claims to review cases timely and bring fairness to families, but in practice, it’s the exact opposite. And I know I’m not alone. There are so many families being failed by her, and it’s time to speak up.
A judge like this should not be on the bench. She’s abusing her power and causing real harm to families in the process. We need to make sure our voices are heard and our votes count. She has no place in the courtroom—she needs to be removed from a position where she can continue to wreck havoc on people’s lives.

I hired this firm in 2017, finalized the divorce in 2018. My ex-husband and I had a primary residence for sale and agreed to split the significant balance of our retirement at the sale of the home rather than a withdrawal at the close of the divorce. The problem was that when the residence sold, three years later, I found my ex-husband had emptied the retirement account two months before the sale. I felt confident that an attorney could get my retirement account back since I had the divorce decree to back it up. I then learned that my Fullenweider Wilhite attorney, Michael Childs, had neglected to include a clause in the decree to prevent this, a decree written by my ex-husband’s attorney, thus allowing my ex-husband to take my retirement funds. You rely on family law attorneys to know these rules and protect you from opposing counsel acts of this nature. Financially devastated and disappointed. I do not recommend this firm.
