Kyle took my case over when at Anderson and Associates in 2020. It was an absolute mess. He didn’t let that stop him and worked through what I thought was a battle I would lose completely. He made me feel like I could win a fair divorce and made sure I would be apart of my children’s lives. When he transitioned to another law firm I did not hesitate to transition with him. While their were many challenges Kyle explained everything to me and walked me through choices and options especially when it came to parenting time and what going through a long trail would not only look like but the expense and the overall trauma it could leave on my children.
I had 3 major issues with child support through the change of jobs and issues with HFS. Kyle worked diligently to help me rectify these issues quickly fairly.
I have recommended Kyle to others and will continue to do so. I have spent the last 4 years with Kyle and will always go back to him when it comes to any of my family divorce issues or family matters.
On a personal note Kyle is the lawyer I should have started with. I feel that my divorce might not have taken and cost as much as it did if he was my lawyer from the start. He is very knowledgeable and was sympathetic when the time was needed. For me this process was a roller coaster and Kyle kept me settled and focused on what was most important to me and that was my children.

My experience with Steven Wolf of Wolf Solovy & Zivin, LLP, was nothing short of a nightmare. From the outset, his promises were grand, but his actions were deceptive and unethical.
Upon engaging his services, I was assured of his expertise and dedication to my case. However, it quickly became evident that these were mere words meant to placate clients rather than deliver actual results. Despite numerous follow-ups and inquiries, the progress on my case was stagnant, and any semblance of work done was virtually non-existent.
To add insult to injury, I was billed exorbitant amounts for purported services that were never rendered. It became apparent that his primary objective was not to pursue justice for his clients but rather to maximize profits through deceitful billing practices.
Furthermore, attempts to address my concerns with the firm were met with indifference and dismissiveness. It was clear that he had no intention of rectifying his egregious behavior or providing any semblance of accountability.
In summary, my experience with Steven Wolf was a complete debacle. I caution anyone considering their services to proceed with extreme caution. He epitomizes everything that is wrong with the legal profession – prioritizing greed over integrity and client service. Steer clear of this unscrupulous firm at all costs.

I hired Mr. Kay. I wish I never would have hired him in the first place. First, his drafting skills for a lawyer are extremely poor. Second, he never followed through on the tasks he said he would. He never had a clear strategy for any issues in the case that needed to be dealt with or an overall strategy for the case in its entirety. He never asked for my objectives, or what I was looking for in a result. Save yourself a lot of aggravation, and money. Hire someone else. Divorce is difficult enough without an incompetent lawyer.

Going through a divorce is one of the most trying and emotional times in your life. John was like a trusted friend. He gave me straight talk but then explained what usually happens in certain scenarios, which was comforting for me. He was always available by email and returned calls pretty quickly. My case was mentally and emotionally draining. I watched a system that is not designed for fathers control the life of my son. I was even more devastated in the way his biological mother handled raising/caring for our son and my place in his life. I had never been any way but respectful and supportive of her since the day our son was born.
We went through a Child Rep who took almost (7) seven years to do what he knew he should have done from day 1, while my son suffered mentally and emotionally silently for years. That alone could have destroyed my child. We then went to a Guardian Ad Litem, through Mediation, a Child Therapist, back to Mediation, an Arbitrator, a Judge Mediator and then back to the case judge.
7 Years later, my son is home with me and my wife (who has been an awesome mother figure to him since he was 2 years old and whom he loves dearly). and he is doing very well. This case unfortunately cost him his relationship with his biological mother and has destroyed his faith in the legal system and those that are trained and paid very well to protect the child. I must add that I am working with him through the issues surrounding his mother because no matter how horrible she was to him and to me, nor how she used the legal system to hurt us all for years, it is still important to me for him to have a loving relationship with his biological mother.
I give all of the Glory to God and the team of lawyers he blessed me with. Gloria Block and her Assistant Russell Reid have been true life savers for me, my family and especially our son. Attorney Block helped bring clear direction and purpose to our case. She immediately halted all negative personal/legal action by my son's mother and her Attorney that clearly were directed at prolonging the case while bringing more chaos and negativity into play, which ultimately only harmed our son. She personally held everyone accountable from the first day that she agreed to represent us (4) four years into this case. We had our ups and downs through the legal system, but she kept fighting for my son's well being and ultimately directed the fight that gave my son the peace that every child deserves.
I now have legal residential custody of my son and I oversee all day to day activities and care. He is now at peace, truly thriving and doing very very well.
To not bring direct light to my son and what he has endured, I have to settle on giving a big public "shout out" via the internet to Gloria Block and Russell Reid for being more than our attorneys, but for being a part of our extended family and caring enough to dedicate your legal knowledge for the well being and care of a child who did not deserve what he had endured, but one who now has the direction he needs in life to thrive, uncontrolled and uninhibited while being surrounded in true love, a family that is dedicated to him and being totally blessed with complete support.

Ms. Block (and Beth and Russell) are the best out there. I had been represented by two other legal firms before I found her. She kept me informed, listened to my wants and needs. If her advice differed from what I had thought the best course for me and my children, she took the time explain to me the reasons why and what the best actions were. My previous representation was always willing to wait and see what was going to happen whereas Ms. Block let me be heard. And in doing this got the best outcome for me and my children. She never talked down to me or made me feel as anything but an equal during the process. I would recommend her to anyone who needs good solid legal representation.

I engaged Mr. Rakowski (LSR) in April 2023 to assist with Judgment enforcement matters. In August 2023, he blindsided me by filing a petition to withdraw while demanding that I pay him $7000 to continue representation without having provided me with an invoice of services supporting his demand.
This was during a time when he was supposed to be cleaning the mess he created by filing a Petition for Rule to Show (Indirect Civil Contempt) without any claimed amount, being able to mention the paragraphs of the Judgment violated, nature of the violation OR present Exhibits and evidence during the hearing to support the petition.
That was the beginning of my nightmarish encounters as events spiraled out of control. He would then file several unnecessary and avoidable motions to modify, compel, and clarify, attempting to rectify his errors and failings while racking up legal fees. And then, he demanded $7000 for the work to clean up this mess without providing me with a supporting invoice.
He attempted to coerce me into paying him that amount and when I pushed back, he quickly filed his withdrawal and then immediately filed a petition for attorney fees after the withdrawal was granted. Important to point out that none of the matters I engaged him for were resolved by the time he withdrew, including the petition for reimbursement of child expenses that the Court denied without prejudice because of LSR's failure to state any owed amounts.
LSR claimed he was working on drafting a new petition for refiling and billed me over $1,000 for that supposed work in the invoice. However, I never saw a draft of that petition prior to his abrupt withdrawal. And he would then have the audacity to file a petition for fees against me because he thinks the law allows it and he would rather leverage what he believes to be law to oppress his client than do what is right. Zero accountability!!
Suffice it to say that I am now representing myself Pro Se and had to refile the petition for child expenses reimbursement myself, which the Court conducted a hearing on and ordered the respondent to pay me the amount claimed.
In hindsight, I would have been much better off doing this on my own with very little help from the Law Library. The library has all the applicable straightforward forms. The matters were not complicated. It was post-divorce and didn't require any discovery. I have the Judgment. And there were evidence and documentation to support its violation. But LSR made the process and filing so messed up and complicated so that he could then bill me over $11,000 attempting to clean the mess. Engaging LSR is the worst mistake I have made all through my pre-divorce and post-divorce journey.
I would have rated him a zero star if I could but unfortunately, the minimum I could give is 1.

Donna is literally the worst lawyer I've come across. She was very friendly with opposing counsel (nicknames, etc) and let my ex's attorney run the show. Donna was condescenging and rude often cutting me off and nearly yelling at me. She is very disorganized and an awful communicator. She went weeks without answering my emails and then blamed me when I didn't have paperwork ready never acknowledging that she never told me I was supposed to have it. I fired Donna after 5 months because she was just an empty suit but had no fight in her. She was lazy and incompetent. If you think divorce and/or custody is stressful, hire Donna and you'll find out how much worse she can make it.

I was referred to Donna Polinske after a call to Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance regarding a family matter. At the consultation, she was stern and to the point. I had a hard time keeping my mouth shut. Once I did, Donna set forth a strategy to have my case dismissed. I hired her and can honestly say that I'm glad I did. Lynn Wypych could use some improvement, and here is why…
1. Does not answer the telephone or take phone calls. Hides behind emails
2. Overcharges. As a state appointed employee, she nickel and dimes hard working families
3. Does not explain her decisions. She is the second most powerful person in your divorce, and she does not explain the why behind her decisions. She just comes down hard on families with unjust recommendations to the court, and when questioned, hides behind emails and will not get back to you or your attorney.
There is always more to the story, but these are the basics. She has charged my ex-wife and I over $50,000 for effectively nothing. Yes, I am upset with the fact that I have been on supervised visits for three years without explanation as to why or what needs to be done on my part to relieve the supervision. Another $25,000 sent to the supervisor with no end in sight and an excellent track record with the visits / great relationship with my children, it should be obvious as to why I am annoyed with Lynn. A telephone call on her part may be a start in mending the relationship, but I won’t hold my breath…

Do not recommend working with James. We tried working with him on a prenup but had the following issues:
1. Poor attention to detail: He requested a list of assets to get started. He then sent us back something to sign with the list of assets, in which he had gotten several details wrong (missing accounts, wrong numbers) despite us having sent it correctly in writing.
2. Unresponsive and unreliable: It's been 3+ weeks since we provided what he asked for and we have not heard from him. I've reached out via phone and email but at this point it's clear he's not able to provide the services we discussed.
I strongly encourage you to find another more reliable attorney.

I have to take a moment to recognize Michael Craven and Kevin Salzstein for their amazing support and expertise during my tumultuous divorce process. They were both very knowledgeable and kept me informed throughout the entire process. I was made aware of my rights and what I was entitled to by law. When I made a decision on whether or not to pursue something, my choice was respected and I felt confident in my decision.
Both were very easy to work with and respected my time. Michael is well versed in business law as well, which I found helpful as an entrepreneur. Although I did not consider my divorce to be high conflict, when things did become stressful or intense, they remained professional and helped to keep me calm as well. I recently completed a divorce process and Vaughn was on my attorney team. She was always great to work with, but there was one point where she truly went above and beyond, jumping in to help me sort out some urgent and thorny problems with my house title / quit claim deed. Worked with Brian Thompto as an attorney to file my Green card and he was so unreponsive, careless, rude and never ever replied back to my emails neither calls. Wasted my 15 months for PWD and PERm and end result is it got denied because of his mistake to not including my skills in ETA-9089 besides providing him all the details. This attorney has does nothing but drag me through the dirt, invaded my place of employment, has taken the case against me way too personal, has instagated me, escape goated me, painted me as a bad father, has caused personal conflicts in my personal life, has allowed me to be alienated by the other parent, has bankrupted me, has me visiting my child for 6hrs a month, has showed unprofessionalizum in the court room, she has does nothing for me but railroad me because I want to be in my childs life. She Has made my case into a criminal case rather then a family case. Has been nothing but spiteful to me and will not agree to Any rational request or proposals. I guess if I was a woman who wants to put my ex through the ringer then she would help me, Guess whos going to the B.A.R. and not the drinking type bar... If I could give attorney Zhao a below one, it would most definitely be a 0. She has poor manners and didn't think my spouse case was work, who responds to a client stating "I have been very busy with work" like my spouse case wasn't work. Then gets upset and removed herself from the case after filling into the case because you don't like corrective criticism, how unethical. When she calls her clients she is very disgruntled and pushy, can't be so sure if its a personality conflict or a color/race conflict, but whatever it is. I would not recommend her for any case learn how to treat your clients. You won't make it very far being rude, people are no longer standing for bad behaviors.

David is my third and last divorce attorney. I wish I had have found him in the beginning instead of wasting time and money on the other two attorneys . David's professionalism and knowledge helped me so much; his expertise is "Marital Law", which means his focus is dedicated on resolving matters in a professional manner. David is a calm and patient attorney but is aggressive when there is a need to be. What I like about this firm is that David's staff is always supportive and on top of things. With the other law firms that I had before, they would purposely stretch court dates out and do unnecessary tasks just to charge up your bill. David's law firm does only what is needed and necessary. Do yourself a favor and take my advise, you get what you pay for. This law firm is well worth every penny.
