Paid for consultation, stated he would send me the paperwork and other documents to my email it never happen. Stated he would send over a contractor it never happened. Before the consultation, I explained that I didn’t need that I’m ready to move forward all to end up with nothing. No call, monies paid for consultation with no results.
What you specifically stated was that you were going out of town and that packet would be sent out to me. This is bankruptcy there’s no retainer, it’s money paid in full before service rendered. You also stated that the money I paid for the consultation would go towards the remaining balance. You also stated that a contractor would come out and evaluate the property. There was no miscommunication and the email wasn’t wrong. You sent an email to me prior to our meeting that I told you it wasn’t needed. That I was ready to pay all fees and move forward. I never heard from you.

I’m so glad I chose Josephia Law. I’ve been in divorce proceedings for over a year now. And every step of the way the people at Josephia Law have been prompt, professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. The attorney on my case is Massa Massaquoi-King. I’m lucky to have her on my case. She is very knowledgeable and experienced. She’s also very attentive, I don’t have to explain things more than once and she will let me know the best way we should proceed.
Not only is she great at her job, she really cares. Up until recently, my wife was not allowing me to take my son to see my family without her. Recently at the merits hearing for my divorce case, Massa displayed her knowledge and experience in that courtroom. The judge gave an order so that I can spend more time with my son on a schedule. Coincidentally, outside the courtroom my 3 year old son was waiting for us to finish. I picked him up and my son and I both thanked Massa because it was going to be the first time he was going to be able to spend with me and my side of the family for the weekend. It was an emotional moment for all 3 of us outside that courtroom.

DON'T GET SCAMMED!
Before I signed on with this firm I talked to Ms Rouse and explained my financial situation. She assured me that I wouldn't have to constantly dump money into my trust (which was a lie). After giving them 10k with no results, they droped me because I couldn't afford to give them $2500 for an upcoming court date. I went with another lawyer who handled my case for $1500 with excellent results. When my new lawyer reviewed what was previously done, he found several documents were filed incorrectly and I was charged each time they had to resubmit them. Mass King is a joke! She showed up to a virtual hearing looking very unkept (with 6 month old box braids). I was embarrassed. There were several reviews about how this firm takes people money and literally drop them right before court. I wonder why you can't see them anymore......

My first contact with this law firm was positive and great. The intake lawyer was supportive, knowledgeable, and understanding. I wish I could remember her name because she was the reason why I decided to go with group, and I really wanted her as my lawyer through my process. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. I end up a different lawyer NC. At first, he seems good but that was further from the truth. At my first court proceeding he was late. For whatever he would not give me a number to reach him; he just wanted to have contact through email or for me to call the office. This is fine if you are going to actually contact me which he didn’t. NC did not take any interest in learning who I am or to really hear about the details of my case. When I tried to talk to him about my case or myself, he brushed it off. It seems like he wanted to do the bare minimum for me and suggest that I take a stet for something I didn’t do. I felt defeated and did consider a stet. When I asked him how this would have an impact on me as far as working. Now this is where I should have fired him. He looked me in the eye and said you can probably still get a job at Wal Mart or Target.
So let me give everyone some background about me. I have five degrees and have always had a professional job. Now what would make this man think that I work in retail… I don’t know. So, he put his appearance in for my case in October 2024, I didn’t hear from him until December. In between I had tried to reach out and he wasn’t responding. I had already paid my first payment in which I tried to get back but was told by Maronick that NC have started working on my case so they couldn’t refund me. He even told me that he would have NC call me the next day which NC did not call (this was in November 2024). At this point I feel like was stuck with NC as my lawyer. Finally, I was able to get in touch with him where he actually contacted me back (December 7, 2024). My trial was set in January 2025, I asked him what was going on and if he heard from the state attorney office. He asked me when my trial date is and I told him in January; he chuckle and said oh I thought it was this month. Then proceed to tell me that he doesn’t have a motion of discovery from the state. So, my thought is what were you doing this entire time. I believe that he didn’t work on my case and was set on me taking a stet. At that moment I realize that he didn’t care, and I cut ties with this law group.
I hire a new lawyer who actually listen and understood me. He was able to get everything and had my case dropped before the trial date especially when the truth was finally exposed. I’m excited about my outcome but disappointed with NC. I would not blame this law firm entirely because I believe that they have some good lawyers. I also believe that if the first lawyer was my lawyer I would have had a great outcome as well. All I have to say is if your lawyer last name is Copper run or tried to get a switch. I'm giving them two stars because the intake lawyer was great and Moronic himself communicated. I don't care about the money I spend I just wanted a good lawyer.

That won’t happen to me, I said, until it was physically in my face, had me backed into a corner, and was spewing utter vitriol at me. That won't happen to me, I said, he'd never lay a hand on me, until one day the physical aggression caused me physical pain and injury. That won’t happen to me, I said, until thirteen months ago, when I found myself on the phone with a domestic violence hotline. That won’t happen to me, I said, until thirteen months ago, when I found myself hurriedly packing a bag and fleeing my home, and boarding an aircraft out of state, because I feared for my life and safety. Fifty years ago, when my mother and her family escaped their war-torn country with nothing but the clothes on their backs and one bag per person due to religious persecution, I never imagined that one day, fifty years into the future, that I too would one day find myself following in her footsteps, quite literally.
I never imagined that I would one day find myself fleeing my home with nothing but the clothes on my back and one small carry-on bag, and boarding a same-day aircraft bound for 1,000+ miles away, because I too feared for my life and safety. Thirteen months ago, when I found myself on the phone with a local domestic violence agency in my state, I never imagined that the proverbial door would get slammed in my face, on the basis that I earned too much money to qualify for any help or support. Since I was born and raised abroad, and with my own family still living halfway around the world, it was in that moment that I truly realized, and that it genuinely sunk in, that I was going to be completely and entirely alone in the process of escaping the cycle of violence.
In 1848, divorce was practically unheard of. Most states had fault-based divorce laws outlining the requirements and criteria permitting divorce: lunacy, adultery, desertion, or cruelty. This meant that couples could only pursue divorce IF they could prove, in a court of law, that one or the other had committed one of these offenses. However, given the laws (or lack thereof) governing women's rights and freedoms at the time, divorce was far more complex for women, as they remained at risk of being unable to regain their last names, unable to retain property acquired prior to their marriage, or unable to obtain custody of their children. These fault-based grounds are in stark contrast to the no-fault system that exists across most states today. Today, after decades of tireless advocacy, and thanks to incredible attorneys like Laurie Wasserman and Virginia Yeoman, people are no longer required to remain shackled to their spouses, and have the freedom to escape the cycle of violence. Thanks to the fabulous support of Laurie and Virginia, I've not only been able to survive, but I am slowly on my way to thriving again. The words "happiness" and "divorce" are the last two words you'd expect to see in the same sentence, but that is exactly what Virginia and Laurie have facilitated for me.

I contacted Mr. Rahul Kishore for help with a prenup agreement. At first he told me he thinks I might not need this agreement and did not want to waste my money. After I explained the situation further he said he could help and apologized that he is going to be a bit busy in the next few days and that it might take a week. Does a great job to make sure you reach an agreement and settle to avoid going to court. Will keep repeating herself until you are clear on what she is saying. Never interjects and lets you speak.
