I can't recommend Gus Dimopoulos highly enough, he was a lifesaver during my divorce. Going through a divorce is undoubtedly one of the most challenging experiences one can face, but Gus made the process as smooth and manageable as possible. The financial issues in my case were extremely complicated as I own a complex business and there were significant 8-figure valuation issues to deal with. Complicating matters were disagreements with custody. Gus took the time to understand the concerns, and managed to balance the matter that was often charged with children’s issues against the level-headed approach to the financial aspects of the case.
He managed to bring about the settlement that I wanted by stepping foot in court only once. On the one occasion we did have to go to Court, Gus completely controlled the room and got me the result I needed on that particular issue. In fact, I think my ex was happy to settle after watching Gus in court during that one appearance.
I could not be happier and more grateful with the results he was able to achieve, and we continue to have a friendship long after the ink on the settlement agreements dried.

I received a burn while dining out, it hurt for sure and I knew I needed medical attention. I also knew that I needed a lawyer. I called a few but it was a Sunday so I left voicemails. John Bailey called me that Monday, I never received a called from the other lawyers. After talking with him I knew he took my incident serious and quickly an agreement was reached with the restaurant representatives for compensation. I am very happy with the outcome. I hired Mr. Whiteman as counsel for my divorce case. From the onset of our working relationship, he was very professional, highly knowledgeable and a great advisor to a case that was made complicated as a result of the opposing party (my former husband). On numerous occasions, we needed to show firmness in our stance with the opposing party and Mr Whiteman was a strong advocate fighting for my rights consistently and fairly, yet still maintained the case as amicable as possible to avoid further legal complications and settle out of court. Mr Whiteman was very responsive to any questions or issues I had during the case, and explained thoroughly each step of the way. I found Ms. Richards to be highly unprofessional, highly unethical and highly prejudicial in the execution of my parent's estate.
In my opinion, resorting to threats and bullying in an attempt to intimidate a particular beneficiary is beneath the conduct you would otherwise expect from a member of the Bar Association.
To be clear, I was not "unhappy with my parent's estate", I was shocked by Ms. Richard's behavior.
Her handling of the estate relative to administration and advice given was deplorable, and in no way represented what my parents would have wanted. If you're in the market for an estate attorney that you can trust to do the right thing upon your passing, I recommend that you look elsewhere.
I would not have even given Ms. Richards a "1 star" review, but Google doesn't accept anything less.

We consulted with Brian after being told by another Lawyer Grandparent Visitation is never awarded in our circumstance, and not to waste our time and money. Brian gave us suggestions on things to try with our son and daughter in law to resolve the issues before a petition was filed. We did retain Brian and at that time he was confident we would get time with our grandson. We did go to trial and Brian was excellent all the way through. He responds to calls and emails and provides answers very quickly He is very thorough and meticulous. We were awarded visitation with our grandson beginning in August and actually received more time than we expected. Everything Brian does is for a reason and to help your case so listen to the expert! He is very delicate with family situations and keeps things as kind and calm as possible.
Having that first visit with our grandson was amazing and we have Brian to thank for it! My husband and I highly recommend him..

Brian Welsh was highly recommended to me by lawyers in other fields. I entered his preliminary conference with much trepidation. He instantly put my mind at rest, listened intently to what I had to say and understood from day one that I did not wish to punish my partner. Our conferences and phone calls throughout the following months were cheerful and professional. I was given good advice, told what was going to be possible and, in a gentle way, told what could not be achieved. The speed with which he dealt with my instructions and passed them on was sometimes alarming but the entire process of my divorce was very much quicker than I had anticipated and I am still friends with my ex-wife. i was referred to Mrs Alomar by a friend of a friend. The first time i spoke with her i literally cried as i had to relive what my 13yr old daughter was going through with her Mom who she was living with. Mrs Alomar offered many suggestions as i initially was trying to avoid court and work with a mediator to have custody switched. Despite my request Karina made it clear that court would be necessary but she would first try it "my way" only to appease me. Karina was right, it did not work, court was necessary. We went through no fewer than 6 court appearances over the course of 6 months when i was finally granted custody of my daughter. Karina was great, she pulled no punches and even put me in my place on many occasions when it was necessary. Despite the circumstances, i am glad i had the opportunity to meet Karina, she is a wonderful attorney and a great person. Words cannot express how thankful we are.....

I never considered writing a negative review until my experience with Van Horn & Friedman, P.C. (“VH&F”). However, I feel compelled to share my story. I retained Alissa to file a petition (for privacy reasons I will not disclose the type) and to represent me throughout the associated court proceedings. Immediately upon learning of the situation, Alissa could not understand why a petition had not previously been filed. When I explained to her that I was told by the local police department that the person was too old, she said that the police do not know the law—she does. Regrettably, I retained her services.
To my dismay, I soon learned that the local police department knew what they were talking about; Alissa did not. I believe that VH&F eventually found out shortly after Alissa was unable to file the petition. However, the only response I received when inquiring about the situation was “red tape” and “you have a judge that cares.” Not acceptable explanations coming from a firm you are paying $500.00 an hour to represent you, especially considering that the judge does not have the authority to circumvent the system. I asked at least three (3) times and always received the same responses. Laughably, I was asked by a managing partner at VH&F if I was an attorney. I am not, I just don’t enjoy being taken advantage of.
I believe that VH&F’s hourly rate is way overpriced. Moreover, their retainer agreement provides for billing in fifteen (15) minute increments. My bill ran up very quickly because of sending/receiving correspondence. The problem is that Alissa was recommending services I had already tried unsuccessfully and were not related to the petition. As such, I found myself paying VH&F to explain to them that their recommendations were not appropriate for my situation after previously providing that history to her.
My takeaway: Don’t expect to receive a good product just because a business charges more than their competitors and be wary of someone’s overconfidence!
