Divorce is not a fun time. After I found out my ex-wife had been cheating on me with a family friend, I searched for a good lawyer with experience. I was unsure of what to expect. I had a consultation with Mr. Emory about my situation. After hearing my story he told me that he thought my case could use a lawyer with less experience and less cost. He offered to give me the names of lawyers he knew and trusted. That fact in itself made me choose him. He was amazing. My divorce was dealt with quickly and efficiently with as little stress and worry as possible given the situation. I would recommend Mr. Emory to anyone that finds themselves in the unfortunate situation of divorce.

Mr. Briones is a generic result attorney that totally got annihilated in court JP3 04/13/21
He was representing my family members in a civil suit and even got their name incorrect.
Briones was unprepared and tried to scam Judge Wentworth into believing that only one person was on a deed to a home in dispute as if the other ex spouse was not on the deed at all. When the Judge called him out in it, Briones stumbled in his words saying he misunderstood.
Briones did not even have the divorce Decree with him that literally won the case for the opponent .
He told the Judge he did not know what was on it and got annihilated once again when the Judge had the copy of the decree and told him that his name was on it. He had signed it, yet had pretended he was unaware of the stipulations on it that favored the opponent and the case was lost for Briones.
I believe the Judge could see through Briones right away and his credentials were immediately lost.
This attorney is exactly the kind of attorney to avoid.

I went to see Mr. Briones for a consultation in December of last year. My ex wife was moving to Laredo and taking our son to go live over there. I asked Mr. Briones for help and he recommended that we file for a modification to have my son come live me with and not have to go to Laredo. It seemed impossible and I never thought I would have a chance but Mr. Briones was very certain that we could fight for this. I didn't have very much money to pay for a retainer so he asked for a little up front and put me on a payment plan. We went to court a few times and at the last hearing we won. My son now lives with me full time and I couldn't ask for a better lawyer on my side then Ricardo Briones.

Emily is an absolutely amazing and professional attorney! I had met with several attorneys and some were not a good fit and others were intimidated by my special circumstances case. As soon as I met with Emily and Amanda, I knew I was in the right place. They both were motivated to help me get child support from someone who knew how to evade the system (he owed over $40k in back child support). Emily did her homework and made sure he did not evade the system anymore and helped me finally start receiving child support in a short time period. If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely THE problem when it comes to attorneys this day and age.(maybe it’s just with men). If you want a game where you're being strung along and billed forever playing the rollercoaster game with you and your children's life instead of evidence being presented in a costly/timely and empathetic manner THIS IS YOUR GUY. Mr. Bancroft, i just got off the phone with you where you hung up on me stating that I’m threatening you. Get over your ego and realize that your business as a practicing attourney needs realignment. I wrote you about a standing invoice you provided totaling to less than the amount that Ive paid to you months prior with no response. After speaking to your paralegal, then being transferred to your “billing dept.” and speaking to them I was provided with a newer invoice…..with newer charges, where whomever was working before had originally just simply “forgot to send me the invoice”….what a convenient coincidence. After speaking with her, I was transferred to you where I had a conversation with your ego. Well, from the little guy(s) down here Mr. Bancroft, do whats right and fabricating invoices to skip out on paying balances owed on any moneys paid to you for the services that you DID NOT PROVIDE are just not that. Client paid $1750 in retainer fees(half of your 3500 to get the case started) and had to chase said attourney down for enquiries with little to no communications outside of ones that were initiated by me/client, INCLUDING in person conversation with YOU where I unexpectedly paid a visit to your office in August after I could not successfully contact anyone and asked about a status of my case. You did not recall my case by name until we went to your office and you searched my name.(keep in mind, this is three months after contracting). Attourney invoicing per attourney-client portals all state work for balance of $753, with latest payment from client being $631 in October.(this never happened, only payment made was the initial one and didn't make another due to subpar and in my opinion MALPRACTICAL, I'm aware that isn't an official word, service). After a few months of calling and majorly being placed on hold, back and forth’s with promises of returned calls or motions with paralegals, multiples of them and finally being frustrated with the reality of paying an attourney and not being fought for……while fighting a vindictive situation with my children as a GREAT DAD I asked for an explanation stating that if I did not hear anything as ai had been I wanted to discontinue services and be refunded via message inside of the client portal, I THEN was given a response…..but not with accountability, not with a plan of action, not to communicate any valuable evidence or structured plan of action, but to speak downward of me on the “dismal” months of non-payment……….ultimately this attourney demanded I paid him his past due amount, in addition to totals for mediations that hadn't even been had yet to avoid him WITHDRAWING. Needless to say I attended the mediation PRO SE, paid the mediator directly. I’m now on maximum state mandated child support and standard visitation for the children I equally raised because the relationship did not work out with their mother…finally divorced none the less. All of the evidence in the world to fight that good fight never presented, never saw a represented court setting, money just wasted and thank GOD I demanded a standard or it could have been MUCH MUCH worse financially. Contracted with this attourney on 5/24/2024….attourney withdrew as of 11/5/2024, yet they have still attempted to withdraw payment from my bank as of latest, 12/19/2024…….this was my SECOND attourney over a course of what I recall as a 3 year nightmare……I can confidently say, this is whats wrong with the family law system! Will edit with photo documentation when I have time.

The theme of Ms. Vance's Firm is compassion. As an employee, I am behind the scenes.
It was the day before the Final Hearing, and I still needed to complete the Exhibits. I had also failed to do a transcript notebook that was needed for Final Hearing.
The truth be told, I was at rock bottom, my husband had just abandoned the children and I. During this time, Ms. Vance hugged me as I cried my eyes out.

Absolutely recommend getting a consultation from Lisa if you need a family lawyer. We have been fighting for custody to protect my special needs son and she listened to us and took the time to guide us in the right direction. We have zero experience in the law field and to have such a kind person talk to us was the hope we needed today. If you want a good outcome from your divorce I suggest you look elsewhere. Mr. Marley was unreachable most of the time and did not respond to phone calls, emails, or text messages. When I hired him he insisted he would fight for me and my children but in the end he did not. All he wanted to do was settle. I would have had a more favorable outcome representing myself. Worst attorney I have ever had.

I booked a free consultation regarding foundation issues in our home, and the experience was excellent. Mr. Grubbs provided great advice and gave me clear "homework" to complete in the meantime. The office was very professional and prompt in scheduling my consultation, making the process seamless.
I felt that Mr. Grubbs was sincere and thoughtful in addressing our situation, presenting a solid plan of action to move forward after the retainer fee is paid. Once my plumber completes the leak test, I will most likely hire this firm.
Our consultation was definitely worthwhile and gave me the clarity needed to prepare for the next steps. Highly recommend!

let me save you your time and money before even considering using Michael Dominick for your services. First of all the receptionist who was very sweet I believe is coached to say whatever it takes to schedule the appointment. I was lied to, to feel comfortable enough to make the appointment. Was told the hourly rate and I said oh I most likely will only take up no more then 20 minutes, I only wanted to ask a couple of questions. She said no problem they will refund for whatever time I don’t use. Which is the only reason I agreed to the appointment. I was there on time, was made to wait cause he was “consulting with a colleague” I was told, which was fine, walked into his office 15 minutes later. Was in his office almost 25 minutes before telling him that I don’t think he is what I was looking for. At the front I asked about the refund and you can tell his frail ego was hurt and said we don’t do that. And I explained then I was lied to and that now I feel conned into making the appointment because I never would have accepted knowing the truth. Said to contact billing and she was just plain rude. She then said that “I am just mad because he wouldn’t take my case” lol oh honey I’m sorry I think you have it twisted but it’s his weak frail male ego that is mad that I didn’t want him. She then dismissed me rudely. Maybe he needs the extra cash because he is the least paid lawyer in that office and was able to take my appointment instantly so that speaks volumes for his books. Maybe he will use the cash to tailor his poorly fit suit. I have the original phone call recorded on my home security cameras to prove I was told about the refund policy and I have the appointment voice recorded because I sometimes forget everything that was talked about during any sort of appointment and like to reference back, so I have time stamps and everything for the record
Save yourself your time and just go somewhere else. He is smug and arrogant and likes the sound of his own voice because I tried to cut off the appointment much sooner as I realized ten minutes in he was not for me but he likes to go round and round repeating himself, probably to rack up the bill and justify himself. I will be going to everywhere and anywhere to leave my review, google, yelp, Reddit, Justia, Avvo, every San Antonio group on Facebook. I will google San Antonio lawyer review sites and leave my experience so people can take from it what they will.

I hired this firm for my family custody case, and while we reached an agreement, there’s been an ongoing issue with the AOG not finalizing and releasing funds. For several weeks now, despite being a paying client, I’ve called and emailed multiple times with no response. About 3 weeks ago, Lino briefly took my call, but he gave no explanation, only asking for patience and promising it would be resolved by the end of the week. Since then, I’ve heard nothing even after making several attempts for a simple update. Every time I call, I’m told they’re unavailable, and it feels like I’m being avoided. As a paying client, it’s incredibly disheartening to be left in the dark for so long during such a vulnerable time. The lack of professionalism and communication is unacceptable. This review is literally my last resort as I have no idea how to get through to them. I’m just hoping they see this and actually reach out to me.

As a retired veteran , I would give Alex Salazar 10 stars if I could. The staff at Law Office of Steven C Benkelaw offices are the absolute best. I had made a call for a quick consult before the office almost closed. The reception was great in having Alex call me after hours. I had felt really threatened that my kids would leave on a trip and not come back. After the phone call I went to go see him for an initial consult and we discussed my case further. I had consulted other law offices for about a month and felt I needed to Go with Mr Salazar after being repeatedly harassed my spouse.
I feel he went above & beyond in the separation agreement proceedings with a mentally abusive narcissistic. Between Mr Salazar and Stacy Hernandez they made the situation the best it could possibly be. They both were always calm under pressure and Mr. Salazar was able to quickly and efficiently diffuse panic situations. They both understood and empathized for me and my situation. I truly felt I had an advocate in my corner from the moment I met them.

I would NOT recommend Enrique Alex Salazar, he charged me a $200 consultation fee to go over an issue. At the end of the consultation meeting, I told him I would like to hire him so therefore he asks me for documents he would like to see and will remove the $200 consultation fee if hired.
I’ve called him and texted him and has yet to replied. I called his office and his secretary told me that he is too busy to take my case, but I guess he wasn’t too busy to take my $200 consultation money. Even the receipt reads that it’s a refundable consultation fee

I contact this law firm Joel to be exact, because he was working with my father before he died trying to locate property in Medina County. Joel charged me for the same work he did for my father. let me save you your time and money before even considering using Michael Dominick for your services. First of all the receptionist who was very sweet I believe is coached to say whatever it takes to schedule the appointment. I was lied to, to feel comfortable enough to make the appointment. Was told the hourly rate and I said oh I most likely will only take up no more then 20 minutes, I only wanted to ask a couple of questions. She said no problem they will refund for whatever time I don’t use. Which is the only reason I agreed to the appointment. I was there on time, was made to wait cause he was “consulting with a colleague” I was told, which was fine, walked into his office 15 minutes later. Was in his office almost 25 minutes before telling him that I don’t think he is what I was looking for. At the front I asked about the refund and you can tell his frail ego was hurt and said we don’t do that. And I explained then I was lied to and that now I feel conned into making the appointment because I never would have accepted knowing the truth. Said to contact billing and she was just plain rude. She then said that “I am just mad because he wouldn’t take my case” lol oh honey I’m sorry I think you have it twisted but it’s his weak frail male ego that is mad that I didn’t want him. She then dismissed me rudely. Maybe he needs the extra cash because he is the least paid lawyer in that office and was able to take my appointment instantly so that speaks volumes for his books. Maybe he will use the cash to tailor his poorly fit suit. I have the original phone call recorded on my home security cameras to prove I was told about the refund policy and I have the appointment voice recorded because I sometimes forget everything that was talked about during any sort of appointment and like to reference back, so I have time stamps and everything for the record
Save yourself your time and just go somewhere else. He is smug and arrogant and likes the sound of his own voice because I tried to cut off the appointment much sooner as I realized ten minutes in he was not for me but he likes to go round and round repeating himself, probably to rack up the bill and justify himself. I will be going to everywhere and anywhere to leave my review, google, yelp, Reddit, Justia, Avvo, every San Antonio group on Facebook. I will google San Antonio lawyer review sites and leave my experience so people can take from it what they will.

Hired sralla with a $5k cash retainer for my divorce.
How much work did he do? Only filed my divorce petition.
Never answered my calls or emails.
Then he assigned another attorney to my case.
Complete waste of time.
Go elsewhere.
Stay away from sralla and his office.
He'll have you talk and talk while running the meter on your retainer all the while pretending to care about you, but it's only your money he cares about.

Kevin Sralla had my case lost before it even began. He is not knowledgeable in family law , he isn’t even aware that in custody, a client has an option to choose a jury trial instead of a bench trial in Texas. Allowed opposing attorney to set up everything on a timeline that wasn’t even feasible , the other attorney saw how little he knew about family law and took full advantage from the start. My new attorney has undone most of the mistakes that were made by Kevin and we still have a chance in this case. Had I kept Kevin as my attorney , this matter would of been over with 6 months ago and me and my children would of been in a much worse situation than when we began. At the initial consultation, I let him know we were dealing with a very high conflict individual and I needed the best. Instead of admitting this was something way beyond his ability and referring me on , he just happily took my retainer and still has it , 10 months after I hired him. I have never received a final bill or refund. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

Unfortunately, I've had a long and trying custody battle over a stretch of 10 plus years. I've dealt with a handful of attorneys over that time and Clint is far and away the best. He's understanding, direct, competent, and sincere. That last one is really a breath of fresh air. Mr. Lawson is currently working to help me get my daughter back (I'm the Managing Conservator) from the other parent who did not return her to me after Spring Break. Extremely slow on preparing and filing for a case. Very expensive was being charged $100 per text message that went to her paralegal. When it came time for the case she was to busy and had to pass my case off to another lawyer. With other lawyer we basically had to start all over as she was not involved or familiar with my case from the beginning. All of this was being charged to me so it was like I had to pay for two lawyers. When the court date finally arrived the new lawyer which was Miss Day appointed by Miss Cruz was very unknowledgeable and the case was thrown out. I wouldn’t hire either of them two as all they do is try and drag it out as long as possible to be able to charge you more hours.

My attorney Brooke Irey from this firm refused to represent me claiming I agreed to her withdrawal, however a judge has never approved that withdrawal. She got me locked out of my home that I have exclusive rights to until it sells. She risked mine and my sons lives to date by not writing up and delivering the judges orders Overall sneaky grimy shady business. All this because 7500.00 was not enought to write up a judges court order from 07/2023 according to her. That was not part of the 75000.00

Kay's office was highly proficient at obtaining the upfront retainer fees and ongoing high legal fees. They were timely in submitting paperwork. In the end, Kay provided little value beyond what a paralegal could have done, or a discount law office doing family law. When it was time to go before the judge, she had done no research on who would be hearing the case. She told me that she had prepared for a different judge, and now we were unlikely to win. She was correct. If you simply need paperwork filed on time, Kay seems like an expensive person to do this. If you need well-researched legal assistance, you should seek it elsewhere.

My ex wife and I had a custody order that not even four months old when Kay helped me file for temporary custody under emergency circumstances. Needless to say she was like a brick wall, anything they tried to overturn the order was denied. We ended up coming to an agreement for 50/50 custody. She worked with me so I could afford her services and took my case on at a moment's notice. If wasn't for her services, knowledge and compassion my kids would still be stuck in the position that they were previously in.
