If I could give negative stars, I would. While it may sound cliché, it is absolutely true in this case. If you are considering hiring Ilona, please take a step I regret not taking: ask around about her reputation at various firms. Doing so could save you hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Ilona took 5-6 months to draft a Marital Settlement Agreement (MSA) based on mediation outcomes, a task that should have taken just a few days. This delay resulted in costs of $50,000 to $60,000 for a poorly executed MSA. This amount does not even cover the majority of her work, which was far from satisfactory.
It’s important to know that there are remedies if you find yourself in a situation with an attorney who appears to intentionally botch work for future financial gain. This experience ranks among the top five worst mistakes I've made in 44 years. I cannot stress enough the importance of asking around before hiring.
Additionally, Ilona spams out most of her legitimate reviews with fake ones. When I requested her to correct her mistakes, she demanded more money to do so. What other service demands additional payment to fix their own intentional errors? It’s incomprehensible.

First off, no one asked me or suggested I write a favorable review for my former Attorney Claire Lightner (pause to raise right hand and solemnly swear). This is just a small token of my appreciation for her taking on my train wrecked case, knowing that there would be no big pay out at the conclusion. The other reason I'm writing this review is for those conducting their due diligence in seeking a strong female divorce attorney who is scrupulous, smart, and a true advocate. (I went through 3 attorneys prior to finding Claire, two of which were women and neither one held a candle to Claire.) I know that's a big statement and I wouldn't say it if it weren't true - especially after the WAR I went through (4 years) in total. After my horrific experience with the painfully slow family court system, and attorneys (1 especially who represented me for 9 months who truly earned the rep that most attorneys are blood suckers), I felt folks should know that there is an attorney I would recommend and I'm sure other clients of Claire's would as well. My only regret is I found her so late in my case that much of it was not repairable. That said, she fought hard to right the ship as best as she could and I and my children will be forever grateful. Claire and her paralegal Dorothy work well as a team and are meticulous with details. Expect nothing but sheer professionalism, don't expect hand holding, a shoulder to cry on or therapy (not that they aren't sympathetic), they are, but they are not about wracking up billable hours - which is a good thing! They stick to facts and the law and present them in a clear and convincing way. Advice or consults are good as well - if you want to start there. I feel Claire is honest in her reaction in hearing the details of the case and also predicts an honest scenario of expectation too. Even if it's not best case for you or what you hoped to hear. Now that I think is the mark of TRUE professional with morals and values! In the more often than not ugly divorce business, I think that's really something. Good luck!

I was David vs Goliath. My ex had a powerful family and stacked the deck against me, and I thought I would never get to have my son. We hired Britney Malpiede to prepare and litigate in Family Court on two occasions. She arrived prepared with full knowledge of the scope of our complex situation and was able condense our argument into simple rational terms for the court, which she articulated with great skill and respect. Defending us during a short Ex Parte hearing, Brit was able to to completely change our Judge's initial bias by convincing the Judge to take recess and read the strong declaration with evidence she prepared. After which I was awarded Joint Legal Custody. Brit is both professional and empathetic; she gives advise based on experience and careful investigation. If you are involved in a family law case I couldn’t stress the importance of a good lawyer enough. I talked to, and was disappointed by several Family Law offices before meeting Ms. Malpiede back in 2014. Ms, Malpiede went up against my ex's attorney who's slogan was " When the rings come off, the gloves do too!" She remained professional, maintained her cool and ultimately stayed (professionaly, I might add) the course to achieve the best result to my case. Coronado Unified School District revoked my disabled sons interdistrict transfer with 5 weeks left in the 23-24 school year because of his behavior (a direct manifestation of his disability). They were unable to support him effectively and apparently thought effectively kicking him out was easier. Jennifer Holtzman was an absolute treasure in bringing this to the school district and we were ultimately successful and settled. While the district doesn't "admit guilt" through a settlement, I hope they understand that what they did was disgusting at best. Very thankful to have the Law Office of Matthew Storey on our side.

I was uncomfortable from the first time I walked into the office. I felt like I was in the middle where they just grind out bankruptcies. I was not happy about filing a bankruptcy but it needed to be done. In the meantime things went from bad to worse my son died and I was in the hospital for a month. When I told them I really wanted to go with a different firm one of their employees told me that they would keep me in court to use all the money. I was talking about small claims court. She was almost yelling at me. I’m thinking about making a complaint with the state attorney board. But I warn you right now stay away from them. I am shortly going to be 74 years old. And the way she yelled at me it was almost elder abuse. I believe their shysters. And due to my failing health. I’ve been delayed and filing a small claims court. To my knowledge you cannot be represented by an attorney in small claims court. But apparently their employee thought differently. Beware

Hired and initially good. I believe he is a good person. However, as my case progressed, poor guidance was given and it cost me physical protection from my abusive ex. When the case got complex, he clearly preferred to believe another attorney and showed more concern about his reputation than fighting for a little girl who was strong enough to report her abuser. When he was released from his position, he neglected to produce documents in his care that cost me over thousands of dollars. Still fighting in court to get payment due to his negligence.

A year ago I found Christopher John on Avvo, and because of good reviews I decided to go to their office for consultation. In the office I got a free consultation from MR Hannosh who works in Sunnien Law as an attorney. He said that they work together with Christopher. He was very nice and helpful and I decided to hire them to work on my divorce case.
I worked with Sunnien Law and Mr Hannosh on my divorce case.
I paid them for my divorce 4000$ in advance. As soon as I realized that Sunnien law spent all this money, I wrote them a letter that I don't want to work with their agency anymore, because I don't have a job and money and I am actually an international student. In 2 month they sent me an invoice and said that I have to pay them almost 4000$ on top of what I already paid.
I feel like these people tricked me because my English is not very good. They did a very bad job with my divorce case. I finally went to the court alone. They did everything to charge me as much as possible and do a very little job.
They work very badly, don't pay attention to details and they don't care about the result. NEVER hire them.
