I will start by saying I did not retain Mr. Armstrong as my Attorney but I still want to leave a review for all of the help Elizabeth has provided me. She was very responsive and taught me a lot about the whole legal process. She is extremely knowledgeable and even answered my calls and messages on a Saturday and Sunday which was difficult with any other firm. I’d definitely recommend this firm to anyone seeking legal counsel.

Robert Garland was the perfect attorney to help with my complicated and high conflict divorce and child custody case. He was great with presenting testimony and ensuring all facts were brought to light in court. He was very motivated to get things done timely and I was very lucky to have him on my side.

When I first separated from my ex-wife 7 years ago, I made the mistake of retaining a novice attorney who succeeded in billing me over $5,000 in the first month simply for the pleasure of filing the divorce petition. It was clear that my faith had been misplaced. I quickly initiated a search for new counsel and found Mr. Garland quite by chance. That was probably the best find of my life. Mr. Garland is a top-notch attorney with almost as many years' experience as my former marriage had lasted. I found Mr. Garland to be very knowledgeable in family court matters. He billed fairly and accurately for his services. His countenance is the epitome of cool, calm, and collected both in front of a judge and in front of his client. I only wish that I had begun my divorce petition with Mr. Garland at the outset. Needless to say, he soon had things back on the right course. I firmly believe that his consultative approach and considered advice throughout were instrumental in resolving my case, including putting an end to all spousal support, in a much, much shorter time frame than could otherwise have been expected given that mine was a "marriage of long duration," not a phrase to be taken lightly in the state of California. Mr. Garland, I express to you my most sincere and heartfelt appreciation for all of your assistance in bringing this chapter of my life to a full and complete close. I now have an opportunity to move forward afresh and without encumbrance to write the next chapter. Thank you!

I was uncomfortable from the first time I walked into the office. I felt like I was in the middle where they just grind out bankruptcies. I was not happy about filing a bankruptcy but it needed to be done. In the meantime things went from bad to worse my son died and I was in the hospital for a month. When I told them I really wanted to go with a different firm one of their employees told me that they would keep me in court to use all the money. I was talking about small claims court. She was almost yelling at me. I’m thinking about making a complaint with the state attorney board. But I warn you right now stay away from them. I am shortly going to be 74 years old. And the way she yelled at me it was almost elder abuse. I believe their shysters. And due to my failing health. I’ve been delayed and filing a small claims court. To my knowledge you cannot be represented by an attorney in small claims court. But apparently their employee thought differently. Beware

Roy Doppelt was grossly unprepared during court hearings. So much so, I almost felt sorry for my ex-husband who he hired to represent him. My attorney ate him for lunch and it left my ex worse off than when he started. He immediately fired Roy to seek new counsel. Roy’s attempts to go for the jugular, play dirty and act like a big shot, ended up shooting my ex in the foot. Not to mention he has no problem fabricating horrific stories and situations in a scummy way to get a leg up in the case (ie, the Silver Bullet offense). In the end, the judge saw through his tactics and reversed all prior orders against me. He has zero integrity and can’t effectively litigate, so he decides to just throw out untruths to muddy the waters. He’s why divorce attorneys have a bad name. He is inept, unorganized, and dubious. Don’t fall for his “nice guy” demeanor or placating tone of voice. He is a snake.

In order for Roy Doppelt to decide whether he wanted to take my case, he had me provide him a copy of the six-volume court file. I organized everything into binders with hundreds of tabs marking the docs. After reading my file, he decided not to represent me in court but agreed to help me with an upcoming trial. He then decided to removed all the docs from binders, remove my hundreds of tabs and Post-It notes, and put the docs in a box, out of order, turned around, upside down -- when I have an upcoming trial and REALLY need those docs organized. When I expressed my disappointment, he told me I can have another attorney re-tab it. So basically, I paid Roy $8,226 to review my file, say no, and remove my many hours of file organization, AND I will need to pay another attorney to re-organize it. Also, I had an ex parte matter where I needed someone in the office to verify with a judge that I incurred many legal fees regarding an issue. The task would have only taken 20 minutes to review an invoice and testify remotely. An attorney reviewed my pleadings but was supposedly told by Roy to not respond. I lost the $10K case simply because I did not have that witness. Not only that, I requested five times for their $295 attorney fee to be removed, but Roy refused. I paid $295 for zero response, which caused my loss of $10K. So basically, Roy cost me $8,226, $295, $10,000 + another $8K for another attorney to make sense of my disorganized file. That's $26,226.

I agree 110% with the other ONE-STAR review. >They will talk a good game and follow through well with responses when it involves retention; they will be available to respond to questions to get you to hire Dimitry. They: Dimitry and his wife, Kristina, who is the “business manager.” >>They act like they have compassion and creativity when it comes to solving divorce issues because they have gone through them themselves. But what I found is that they are close minded, jaded by their own past history and current step kid and coparent troubles, and the lack of compassion once hired shows. >>>NOT a “free consultation” as stated on the website. Once you retain this firm, if you don’t go through with the “strategy” advised by Dimitry, they will charge you for that “free consultation”. And mind you, his rate is TOO HIGH based on the services provided. There are plenty of attorneys out there that will charge much less and provide better quality work and services. For my case, the strategy advised was not able to be followed through with because the coparent I am going through issues with did not want to participate in it. To save money, I decided to ask my coparent directly if he would be willing to follow the strategy recommended by my lawyer, and he said no. Based on this, the consultation (no further legal services needed) should have been free, but Dimitry and his wife did not want to entertain it and did not stick to their word. They would rather have Dimitry get paid $465/hr to reach out to opposing counsel and my ex to incur costs (only to get a “no thank you” when asked to follow his strategy) - how CROOKED!! Instead, they would rather sip bottles of Dom and buy expensive clothing then help clients and unethically make money off of our troubles. BIG MISTAKE to go with them. As a hard-working person who has dealt with Customer Service for over 20 years in a compassionate and genuine way, I’m appalled by this experience. Keep shopping folks - this is your family and your livelihood at stake!! Best to you!

I’m so happy we picked Dimitry as our attorney. He is incredibly knowledgeable about family law, and he is always available to answer questions and provide guidance. He is also very compassionate and understanding. One of the things that I appreciated most about Dimitry was his customer service. He was always responsive to my emails and phone calls. He also took the time to explain everything to me in terms that I could understand, even though I don’t have any legal experience. I would highly recommend Dimitry to anyone who is seeking a family law lawyer. He is knowledgeable, hardworking, and caring.

I've had the privilege of working with Dimitry on 2 contracts that were absolutely crucial for my business. Although Dimitry specializes in Family law, he was not only willing to help but extremely knowledgable and thorough during this process. As any business owner would know, contracts between yourself and any other party involved are important and certainly necessary. In my case, Dimitry helped me build a silent partnership agreement in 2019, as well as a termination agreement in 2023. Dimitry delivered both times with his professionalism, accuracy, and generosity. He continues to exceed my expectations and I intend to seek his legal advice in both professional and personal matters. I highly recommend Dimitry to any current or aspiring business owners who perhaps needs the guidance and peace of mind.

She’s only out for the money. Comes across nice in the beginning but things change fast! She refuses to try and settle with the only party. She only wants to go to trial where she will take all your money! After draining me of every dime I had I found a VERY COMPETENT helpful attorney who helped me and my x settle out of court. Then after we sold our home and I went to pick up the check Andre refused to sign off claiming I owed her money. I couldn’t get the check from the house until I paid her an additional 25,000 on top of the thousands I had already paid her, She’s a money shark. RUN THE OTHER WAY!

He never called back the first time I booked . The second time I booked he called back but his answers to my questions were vague or he would say "I don't know". His excuse was that he was in San Diego and I was in Los Angeles county and he didn't know what forms to file in family court because LA and San Diego superior courts use different forms but that's a lie in most cases. What a waste of time.

Awful phone consultation experience. Divorce is a stressful experience but to have an attorney debate the abusive reality you experienced and be insentive to the concerns you have in regards to the other parent with young children was traumatizing. I felt belittled and dismissed . I expressedbriefly my abuse with my Russian husband as a black individual and was downplayed “ the courts don’t care about that unless you have proof” with out hearing me tell my full story. She then said well “I’m hearing your side and I don’t know what his side is so …” I’m reaching out to you to be my attorney it does not matter what his side is ! Maybe you don’t want to go against your own Russian people once you realized I’m a black person. She was asking me whether I was Russian or not that shouldn’t even be a factor !I do not recommend this lawyer and will be searching for another lawyer that can listen to my situation with out rudely interrupting me as I’m speaking.

I have to give rave reviews for Christine and thumbs down reviews for "Family Court". Christine is up front as much as possible in all ways and her experience & attention to details is exemplary. She also goes out of her way to try to keep expenses down. Bottom line is that you can trust her to do a good job. Sadly, in Family Court, history has proven time and time again that the woman in a divorce or separation case can get away with virtually anything with total impunity to include any and every type of abuse to include child abuse, elder abuse & violence, lying, falsification of records or documents filed with the court, false testimony, lying at depositions, grand theft robbery, embezzlement, immigration marriage fraud, marriage fraud, and other forms of abuse. The court could care less. When you present even criminal information in court during live testimony, and you hear the presiding judge say; "that's no big deal, lots of people do that", is greatly disappointing and destroys trust in the court system when the judge does not care.

I’m still rebuilding from this tragic mistake. First red flag was when paralegal Lery said I could not check the box to seek reimbursement for the costs I’d be incurring in the case as plaintiff despite my actions being needed to simply locate our daughter despite it being a box on the required legal document used to initiate proceedings as plaintiff. Getting Elizabeth to advocate for me was like dragging a heavy sharp rock or performing invasive dental work. She appeared as if she didn’t have time to brush her hair and arrived a couple minutes late to the hearing time but at least in plenty of time before my case was called. While, I can accept and appreciate her advice that some of my evidence demonstrating the erratic behavior of my ex, wasn’t relevant to our custody situation in San Diego, her unwillingness to present more evidence resulted in tragic results as far as ultimately limiting my involvement in our daughter’s life. My Ex made unfounded allegations that I assaulted her, without any pictures, notes from seeking medical care, video, witnesses etc during our relationship in Point Loma and later La Mesa in Riverside County ~ 91 miles from where we lived. Elizabeth suggested I represent myself in Riverside County Court in August 2021. She said that if she decided to make the drive to Riverside she wouldn’t say anything since there were no grounds for a restraining order. Elizabeth didn’t question why there was no evidence and didn’t submit photographic evidence I had provided. My Ex cried during the hearing. Although, a restraining order wasn’t granted, a finding of domestic violence was made against me. It seemed as if she was unaware that such a finding could be made without a restraining order. This finding was the start of exponential life of misery for me. In September 2021 in San Diego East County Court in El Cajon, at the conclusion 3 Ex Parte hearings resulting in me getting only 6 hours per week visitation with our daughter initially before more time would be considered, it became apparent it would have been in my best interest to request a 30 day delay in the Riverside County restraining order hearing and I likely would have had a more favorable outcome in my San Diego ex Parte hearings. At the conclusion of the hearing Judge Miller (now assisting Supervising Family Judge in Central San Diego), asked Elizabeth if an October 2021 date CUSTODY & VISITATION &CHILD SUPPORT would work. Elizabeth told Judge Miller she would be unavailable that date due to vacation, however she took the October Court Date for me explaining another attorney (presumably Kathy Minella since she was the only other lawyer) would cover for her vacation and appear virtually for my hearing date. As it got to be 1-2 weeks before my court date, I requested to speak with Kathy Minella to update her on my family issues etc since Elizabeth wouldn’t be representing me. I was then informed Kathy Minella was gone on maternity leave (presumably she would have been aware of this & Elizabeth’s vacation schedule when I retained their firm) and unavailable. The firm actually tried to connect me to another lawyer Dawn Luchessi via email but then that didn’t pan out. (presumably they tried contracting with her as a temp). My own law firm Manilla had to ask for a continuance of our lawsuit because no one could show up virtually in court on the date they said would. If Elizabeth would have just answered Judge Miller question in a forthright manner, no the Oct. 2021 date wouldn’t workout, we could have likely gotten a date in November 2021. Since we asked for a continuance within less than a week or two of the hearing, my 1st CUSTODY, VISITATION &CHILD SUPPORT hearing after ex parte wasn’t until Jan. 2022 close to 5 months after I had retained Lefiti

As far as issues in dispute, she will cut to the chase and save the client time and money. Mr. Finkbeiner did a great job on my divorce/custody case. He was very good in court, knew the law and was able to get me through a very complicated custody battle with my ex. Mr. Finkbener kept me informed on my case and was responsive to my questions. I definitely recommend him.

I was really frustrated after reading some of these reviews. Leigh has been extremely supportive and encouraging during this difficult process. She is a matter of fact, tell it like it is kind of person but isn't that the kind of person you want standing up for you in court? Leigh's prices are so reasonable, I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to afford a lawyer and I prayed for a miracle. Leigh has been doing this for a long time and I am grateful for her knowledge, guidance and support. I am confident that walking into this courtroom with her by my side is the best choice I could have made.

Leigh was not reliable nor did she provide the effort you would expect when dealing with legal issues. I was very open and upfront with her regarding my case and needs as a client, but Leigh couldn't provide the same respect back. After my consultation, which I thought was comforting, I spent money immediately to retain her due to the complication of my case. Leigh showed up to every court hearing either as court checked in or had already started, which left no time to consult with her going into a hearing about expectations, needs, and facts required for judge. During the hearing, due to lack of consultation, I consistently had to try to provide input or request things on an instant before hearing would be over. After hearings is when Leigh would communicate with us, in which she charged for. After I received my first invoice, not only did she charge the incorrect rate, but she would charge for simple communication (reading and responding to my emails). Not only was her hours spent on tasks appearing to be inflated, Leigh also didn't provide a receipt for a cash transaction, then wouldn't credit the money provided to her until I gave my bank statement reflecting my atm withdrawl. She blamed "personal" reason as means to not crediting me, but I had to advise her multiple times she didn't credit me. Now comes the unethical aspect, which occurred every hearing. I'm not sure if race played a role in her character judgment, but Leigh would tell my wife and I we couldn't afford her nor the effort to fight for my rights as a father. This was the single most disrespectful and inappropriate thing I've ever been told, from someone I looked to for counsel. There was no indication of my ability to pay, when I keep my terms to our contract regarding payment. Then when asked to actually make effort to progress the case, Leigh consistently told me she couldn't do anything. Therefore it left me with no other choice but to move on from her services. BE CAUTIOUS IN RETAINING THIS ATTORNEY, she will force you to do all the footwork, legal processes, and more while she collects your money. Also, if you can't afford her suggestions, don't expect her to fight for you in your case. I believe Leigh thought she had a money case because of the high conflict I'm involved in, but she didn't expect me to be as efficient as I am in my case. Just as stated from the anonymous reviewer, they were 100% correct about Leigh. Dont believe me, theres other sites that have reviews on her as well dating back to 2009 of her poor and unethical work, in a simple Google search, which I do regret not doing before retaining her. I would highly suggest you review your invoices and contract before you make a legal decision.

She's very good on billing you for hours that she probably never did considering on how badly she arranged my file. I deeply regret that I had to deal with her. Please do a favor to yourself and AVOID this attorney. Good luck!

She does not return emails or phone calls. Will NOT fight for you. Will not do what you request and will always look to take the easy way out. She doesn't care if you win or lose She just wants to get paid. Several times she has not returned emails or phone calls but NEVER misses that phone call for her monthly payment. Worst decision ever was hiring her!!

Stan knows the law, but he does not listen to his clients. I 100% agree with the other person who said not to hire this attorney. And since Stan has been a member of the bar, good luck getting your money or life back.

He was very involved with our case from day one, he listens to the facts, well organized and not like all other lawyers that bill you for advice every question you have, he always made you feel like he was there to help. One of the best Family lawyers in the business and I would recommend to a family member or friend that needed his help. Thank You KJG

Marnie is incapable of handling a litigated case. Her reputation is such. She fails to respond to OC (months on end) putting you at risk. She is unable to create a strategic plan. She will bill you for years, not produce anything, then attempt to prep a 5 day trial from scratch in a couple hours on a weekend, ensuring your loss in the case and loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars. It’s intentional. The firm loses documents and makes grave errors on documents. They overcharge to correct their own errors. The firm “sells hard” to get new clients but has no intention of doing the work. Many are forced to leave but only to find she will fabricate fraudulent billing statements long after you’ve left. Read reviews elsewhere and you will find numerous similar experiences.

Marnie is one of the most passionate and intellectual attorneys I have come across in many years. Her ability to understand the issue coming from both sides makes her a phenomenal negotiator. Marnie successfully represented me on a major personal issue and is now representing me for a real estate dispute. The legal team behind her is unparalleled and the response one receives from Marnie is always prompt and helpful. Thanks for your help Marnie!

Beyond rude to people trying to do the right thing and pay off an debit. They refuse to send you anything via the mail such as receipts or agreements for payment contract but want your debit card info, imagine that. The employee Aaron i spoke with hung up on me when asking how we’d go about sending receipts and placed me on hold about 20 times in our hour long bs conversation. Hopefully I’ll be able to speak to someone perfessional to get this resolved as that’s what I was attempting to do.

Amy took my case at the last minute for a move away order that was being contested. She went above and beyond, working after hours to make sure that she knew my case in and out and could represent me as best as possible. My move away was granted, and even after the trial, Amy ensured that I got everything I needed as far as a signed order and helping get my children over to me, as I had to leave the state immediately on military orders. I will absolutely be using her again in the future if the need arises in family court.

When Susan Rosen was "handed" my cases after I was passed around with the law offices of Beatrice Snider, on our first phone call she YELLED at me and told me that "she was the one to do the talking "(?!?!?) . She was so rude, not even well spoken and bossy. When I told B. Snider this, to her credit, she apologized and recognized Rosen's inappropriateness. I was hoping Rosen would be a bull dog against my high powered husband, but instead, she bullied me. She could not answer questions about my case and was not up to date. I was to pay her to "catch up" on all that already transpired. It was when Rosen has my case that I fired her because the firm dragged the divorce out and made excuses and encouraged hostility between my and my x to be. Susan Rosen was particularly rude. She sets the standard for bad attorneys and gives them all a bad reputation.

What a Child Custody Lawyer Can Do for You

A child custody lawyer specializes in helping parents navigate legal matters related to the custody and care of their children, particularly in the context of divorce, separation, or other family disputes. These lawyers assist with determining custody arrangements, drafting parenting plans, and advocating for your rights in court. They also help resolve disputes over physical custody (where the child lives), legal custody (who makes decisions for the child), visitation rights, and modifications to existing custody orders.

Whether you're going through a divorce or need to change an existing custody arrangement, a child custody lawyer can help you understand your rights and protect your child's best interests throughout the legal process.

When Should I Hire a Child Custody Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a child custody lawyer in several situations, especially when disputes arise or complex legal issues affect your parental rights. Some common reasons to hire a child custody lawyer include:

  • Divorce or separation: If you're going through a divorce or separation and need to establish custody and visitation arrangements, a lawyer can help ensure the custody order reflects your child's best interests.
  • Disputed custody cases: If you and the other parent cannot agree on custody or visitation terms, a lawyer can advocate for your rights in court and help you develop a strong case.
  • Modification of custody orders: If you need to change an existing custody arrangement due to changes in circumstances (e.g., relocation, changes in the child’s needs), a lawyer can help file a modification request.
  • Parental alienation: If the other parent is interfering with your relationship with your child, a lawyer can help address these issues through legal action.
  • Domestic violence or abuse: If there is a history of domestic violence or abuse, a lawyer can help protect you and your child by requesting restraining orders and advocating for appropriate custody arrangements.
  • Grandparent or third-party custody: If you are a grandparent or another relative seeking custody or visitation rights, a lawyer can guide you through the legal process.
  • Paternity disputes: In cases where paternity is in question, a lawyer can assist with establishing or challenging paternity, which may affect custody and visitation rights.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can help protect your parental rights and ensure that the custody arrangement is in your child's best interests.

What Does a Child Custody Lawyer Do?

A child custody lawyer provides a variety of legal services to help parents resolve custody disputes and secure favorable custody arrangements for their children. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Filing custody petitions: Helping you file the necessary paperwork to request custody or visitation rights and ensuring all legal procedures are followed.
  • Negotiating custody agreements: Assisting in negotiating custody and visitation arrangements, often working toward a mutually beneficial parenting plan without going to court.
  • Representing you in court: If you and the other parent cannot agree on custody terms, representing you in court by presenting evidence and making legal arguments to support your case.
  • Drafting parenting plans: Helping you draft a comprehensive parenting plan that outlines the schedule for physical custody, decision-making responsibilities, and visitation.
  • Handling child support issues: Assisting with related issues such as child support, ensuring that financial obligations are properly calculated and enforced.
  • Modifying custody orders: Helping you request a modification from the court if you need to change an existing custody arrangement due to significant life changes.
  • Mediating custody disputes: Acting as a mediator to help both parents reach an agreement on custody and visitation without the need for litigation.

How Are Child Custody Lawyers Paid?

Child custody lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case, the time involved, and the nature of the legal work. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Most child custody lawyers charge by the hour, with rates ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer's experience and location. The total cost depends on the time spent preparing documents, negotiating, and representing you in court.
  • Flat fee: For simple custody matters or uncontested custody agreements, some lawyers may offer a flat fee for specific services, such as drafting a parenting plan or filing a custody petition.
  • Retainer: Many lawyers require an upfront retainer fee, which is billed against as the lawyer works on your case. The amount varies based on the expected complexity and duration of the case.
  • Sliding scale or pro bono services: Some lawyers may offer reduced fees or pro bono (free) services for clients with limited financial means, particularly in cases involving domestic violence or other serious issues.

It’s important to discuss fees and payment arrangements with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand how much you will be charged and what services are included.

How Much Does a Child Custody Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a child custody lawyer depends on various factors, including the complexity of the case, whether it’s contested or uncontested, and the lawyer’s experience. General cost estimates include:

  • Uncontested custody cases: Legal fees may range from $1,500 to $5,000 or more, depending on the complexity of the paperwork and any negotiations.
  • Contested custody cases: Legal fees can range from $5,000 to $40,000 or more, depending on the complexity of the issues, the need for expert testimony, and the time spent in litigation.
  • Hourly rates: Lawyers typically charge between $150 and $500 per hour, with higher rates for more experienced attorneys or complex custody disputes.
  • Mediation services: If both parents agree to work through mediation, costs typically range from $1,000 to $5,000 or more for the mediation process.

Always ask for a clear cost estimate during your consultation to ensure that you understand the total legal fees and payment structure.

Top Questions to Ask a Child Custody Lawyer

Before hiring a child custody lawyer, it’s essential to ask the right questions to ensure they are the best fit for your case. Some key questions to ask include:

  1. What experience do you have with child custody cases?
Ensure the lawyer has experience handling cases similar to yours, especially if your case involves complex issues like domestic violence, relocation, or paternity disputes.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges by the hour, offers flat fees for certain services, or requires a retainer, and ask for an estimate of the total cost.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case, including potential challenges and expected outcomes.
  4. How long will the process take?
Inquire about the expected timeline from filing the petition to reaching an agreement or going to trial.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
Ensure you know who will be managing your case and representing you in court.
  6. Can we pursue mediation or alternative dispute resolution?
Ask whether the lawyer recommends mediation or other forms of dispute resolution to avoid a lengthy court battle.

How to Check the Credibility of a Child Custody Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable child custody lawyer, follow these steps to verify their credentials and experience:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Look for family law experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in family law and child custody cases.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for client reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge the lawyer’s professionalism and success in child custody matters.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who have worked with them on custody cases.
  • Check for certifications: Look for lawyers who are board-certified in family law or have memberships in organizations like the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) or local family law sections.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with a child custody lawyer, come prepared with relevant documents and information:

  • Court orders or existing custody agreements: Bring copies of any existing custody or visitation orders for the lawyer to review.
  • Communication with the other parent: Provide copies of emails, texts, or letters regarding custody, visitation, or disputes.
  • List of your child’s needs: Prepare a list of your child’s specific needs, such as medical care, education, and extracurricular activities.
  • Timeline of the case: Outline key events related to your custody case, including changes in living situations or parental involvement.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Write down any questions about the custody process, legal fees, and the lawyer’s strategy for your case.

By being well-prepared, you can help the lawyer assess your situation effectively and receive the best possible advice for protecting your rights and your child’s well-being.
