Gabriela Asrow gave me my freedom.
My divorce and post divorce was extremely complicated to say the least.
Gabriela jumped in head first, knows the law and my allocation back and forth, and represented me with gusto and professionalism.
I was often shocked by the information she knew in an instance about my case in particular. Only because it seemed knowledge that I would have front of mind, and no one else should. Gabriela did.
What I truly appreciate about Gabriela is that she listened to my wants and needs, told me what was reasonable and what was not, and WHY!
Understanding the why allowed me to be more flexible and realistic in my expectations and needs.

My divorce was extremely contentious to say the least. Negotiations were extremely difficult. However, Ms. Gabriela Asrow never gave up. The mere fact the divorce was finalized in a little over a year is a testament to her hard work. I appreciated her vast knowledge of the law which was very helpful during this difficult process. This was a tough settlement. However she got it done and was tough with me when necessary. She also cares deeply about children so I highly recommend her if should children / visitation an issue.

Hiring Gabriela for my pre-nuptial agreement was the best decision I could’ve made. Not having a legal background, she quickly brought me up to speed on the critical concepts covered in the agreement & ensured I understood the risks to each.
She was able to incorporate my wishes into the agreement in a fair & agreeable way which brought negotiations to a close quickly. She treated myself, my partner, and opposing counsel with respect, and worked efficiently to complete the agreement. I would gladly work with her again!

Melissa was fantastic. We partnered on my prenuptial at later stages. And, in hindsight I do wish I had started the initial process with her. I entered the conversation initially thinking most of the heavy lifting was done; however, it was quickly apparent there were more topics that needed to be addressed and quickly. She was responsive, accountable, respectful of my time, and helped me to prioritize and to de stress a time sensitive and overall stressful period. She also knew the counsel on the other side which also helped to expedite contact and document turns. Post wedding date she also followed up with a personal note - which I thought was a nice touch. My ex wife hit me with a ridiculous and totally unfounded demand for "past due" support. Her lawyer threatened me and filed endless demands with the courts for 2yrs (during wich time my parents were both ill and passed during.all this) my ex knew that my mother had all my paper work , and with her gone i was all but defenseless. I was in a very dark place emotionally and financially with no way out. Thank God a friend referred me to Olga , she literally showed me a light when i thought there were none. Hannah was phenomenal to work with. I started by trying to navigate the divorce process on my own but became overwhelmed. I found Hannah in a neighborhood Facebook group and decided to book a consultation. Having done one consultation already with another well known Chicago firm, I was super hesitant. Unlike other firms, she did not make me fill out a 10 page questionnaire prior to getting on a call and was actually honest and gave advice during our one hour call. She didn’t push me to get off the phone within a time limit. She was present and made sure I was comfortable and my questions were answered. Throughout the divorce process I could not have asked for a better attorney to partner with. While my divorce was relatively “easy” she was on top of it! Every email was answered in way less than 24 hours (usually within 1) and her follow up was impeccable. She always had a plan and always told me what to expect next. I cannot recommend Hannah enough.

Ms. Pratt immediately upon receiving my case acquired all the standard time I was to be alloted with children that previous representation never acknowledged. Ms. Pratt only contacted me necessarily. I didn't realize this at first, however it let me know she's not just trying to run up a bill. She is well informed of the law and was strategically aware on how to pursue my desired outcome. During the bank fraud forclosures in 2010. He assisted me to stay in my forclosed home for 5 years, to recover some of the financial loss I incured when the bank kept my escrow money through the forclosure process. I used Mary Katherine In 2010 and since then have had to use her on and off for a coulpe things after my divorce. She was wonderful to work with and always did what she said. She understands this is a difficult time even after the final divorce and walks me through what I need to do. After a reference from a local PD social worker, I was sent to Figiel Law after a horrible experience in court with my initial retained counsel in my contested divorce.
While granular details will not be provided in this review, the circumstances that triggered an email for help came from the place of pure desperation during one of my many sleepless nights.
My email must have validated my anxiety and fear from the events that unfolded in the weeks prior with the previous divorce attorney as Lucas called me first thing next morning, 6:30am to try and put me at ease and determine if Figiel Law could provide support. He spent nearly forty minutes on the phone with me and upon initial discussion felt Figiel Law could help me out of my situation (one that felt helpless from where I sat).
They scheduled me into the office immediately after I retained them as counsel and I quickly sent all my files over for review. At my first visit, not long after the prescreening callback, the firm made me felt like this is exactly where I should be!
Nicholas read all my files in great detail so that upon our meeting, he already had some strategies, asked several questions and provided a roadmap of activities for us to spend our time and focus in order to counter back against opposing counsel with their lies presented in an emergency motion to the court.
All this from our first meeting!
Nicholas quickly drafted the top priorities for my settlement agreement and set appropriate expectations for the various possible outcomes. This was a good strategy as he also armed me with information about custody and parental laws; this was never shared by my previous counsel.
The reason I bother to share this, is that I never realized that I should have really spent more time on hiring and qualifying my divorce attorney as if they were my defending me for my life. As it turns out, contested divorce is really ugly and can turn your life upside down quickly, especially when trying to escape a domestically turbulent situation.
I am extremely grateful I had Figiel Law on my team and because of their support the outcome was in my favor! I am now happy, thriving and healing as I raise my child in our home in peace and tranquility.
