I recently worked with Brain for my estate planning needs, and overall, it was a positive experience. The office was professional, and Brian S. Lyda was knowledgeable and attentive, answering all my questions clearly.
The only downside was the elevator situation in the building—it was slow and made getting to appointments a bit frustrating. However, the quality of service made up for it. Nothing has been done on my case for over a year, and the dude still held on to my balance and refused to give me a final invoice, adding to the emotional stress. I cannot get another lawyer until I am cleared from him financially. But he won't give me a final invoice and the balance so I can move forward. How are these things right?. This is a review on Kurta Law and specifically Jonathan Kurta. Jonathan reached out to me a few months back and was representing a group to recover funds on a stock loss. When I first discussed the issue he was very easy to talk to and I didn't feel pressured to join. It took me some time to write this because of all the emotions I have been going through, but in a nutshell, my purchase transaction for a condo in Manhattan fell through last week. I believe that Weidenbaum and Harari bears primary responsibility for the deal falling apart, and I deeply regret ever hiring them.
A summary of what went wrong:
• My case was assigned to a lawyer (Eugene Sarantis) who was on vacation and would not return until the following week. I was not happy that my case was being assigned to an associate out on vacation but I let it go.
• It was virtually impossible to get in contact with my lawyer. Despite my repeated attempts to reach Eugene via phone and e-mail, he did not respond to my request for an update until I directly asked one of the partners, Jack Harari, to intervene. The first time I was actually able to speak with Eugene was 13 days after the contract had already been sent.
• I was not brought into the contract negotiation process until the very end. I was not even sent a copy of the contract and riders until several days after they had been sent to Weidenbaum and Harari, and as referenced earlier, I was unable to speak with Eugene about the contract and provide input until 13 days into the contract negotiation process.
• Revisions were made to the contract and riders without my knowledge or consent. During the 13 days before I was finally able to speak with Eugene, negotiations and changes were being made to the contract and riders without my consent, and in many cases, without my even knowing about the requested changes.
Although I was initially told by Jack that the entire contract negotiation process would likely take 7-10 days, the contract was still not finalized 14 days after it had initially been sent. By that point, the seller had become extremely frustrated with the process and pulled out of the deal.
In hindsight, I believe that my biggest mistake in this condo purchase transaction was hiring Weidenbaum and Harari to represent me. If I could do it over again, I would have hired a different legal team, and I genuinely believe that the outcome would have been different if I had.

When I initially explained my situation, she abruptly informed me that your office does not handle such matters and hung up without allowing me to ask any further questions.
I called back to inquire about the specific cases your office does handle, as I believe my civil rights have been violated. However, before I could fully articulate my question, she interrupted, stating, "I said we don’t handle this, and I said have a great day," and then hung up on me once again.
Frustrated by this lack of assistance, I called a third time to request to speak with a supervisor. On two separate occasions, she answered the phone only to immediately hang up. When she finally responded, she simply said, "Please stop calling."
I would like to bring this matter to the attention of her supervisor, as this behavior reflects a lack of customer service skills and professionalism. It is disheartening to encounter such a response, especially when reaching out for help in a difficult situation. Individuals who prioritize dismissing potential clients over offering assistance should not be in positions where they interact with the public. As a college student in need of legal help, I expected better treatment.

After struggling finding a good divorce attorney, someone referred me to Danielle who was my angel, she took me on the most vulnerable time of my life, she even allowed me to meet in her office during covid time and she took my case personal, unlike the previous attorney that I tried, who didn't even want to meet me in person because it was the middle of covid.
Danielle not only made me feel better after the first time I spoke with her on the phone, but somehow every time I spoke with her, her confidence and capability of remembering every piece of information I told her, and her memory and way to approach my case was what I needed in order to know everything was going to be ok. It wasn't easy but she made it happen. She's real, she's tough, she's smart and she will patiently explain to you what's going on as many times as you need to (specially if your first language is not english).
I recommend her 100%. She's probably the smartest woman I've met. I love Danielle and will always be grateful she divorced me and gave an end to that horrible phase of my life with one of the most difficult human beings in New york. Thanks Danielle.
