I was looking for an attorney and overheard someone mention his name. I asked for references and found out very quickly that Barnett wins, and he wins a lot. He met with me and my mother and explained the entire process to us. He told us he could not guarantee how the case would turn out but that he could promise that he would treat my case the way he would want me to treat his case if our roles were reversed. I have no experience with Barnett outside what I witnessed during my fathers trial in which he was accused of very haineous allegations. While watching Barnett in the court room, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was dedicated to justice and would stop at nothing to see it served. His presence in the court room is very strong and he conducts himself with the utmost respect for the courts. On a personal level, Barnett has a great sense of humor and has a way of making his clients and their family feel confident and comfortable through such an emotionally draining time. We've used Mr. Cohen fit estate planning for 2 relatives.
He hosts and teaches free seminars on what his clients communicate to him that they are interested in. He and his staff make everything easy to understand. Other lawyers tend to overuse words they are familiar with (since they use the terms every day).

I can't say enough positive things about Michael Cohen. I live in Georgia with a family member in Texas and needed to get a lot accomplished during our visit. I provided an agenda of items that were needed and he and his staff met every need and I'm so appreciative. For those going through this process with a loved one, Michael Cohen is a great partner through the process.
In response, to those that feel the cost were high... I can only speak for myself, but I went in with all the items that I needed identified ahead of time and the cost were within reason compared to other attorneys. If you don't have a plan you can literally talk for days about all the scenarios you and your family could face and that will raise your spending.

I hired Mr. Brandt to handle a civil matter and it couldn't have gone any better! After giving Mr. Brandt all the facts he was able to convince the opposing counsel and opposing party that the claims against my company were meritless and that if they chose to proceed with the lawsuit we would be seeking damages and all fees regarding the lawsuit. After about 60 days of hiring Mr. Brandt and his subsequent contact with the opposing counsel we received word that the opposing party was dismissing their lawsuit against my company!
The best result to any lawsuit is to stay out of court and Mr. Brandt's ability to apply the law to our set of facts and to firmly yet professionally communicate to the other party our intention of vigorously defending our position is what I believe kept my company out of court. I promise my words cannot convey the gratitude my family and I have for this anointed attorney, Jonathan Wharton! We had been cheated by and lost a lot of money due to a horrible contractor and an even worse attorney. I had almost given up. I felt like evil was winning, and I felt like I had failed my family. With very little faith, I called a successful attorney office my friend had suggested. That law firm told me that they did not practice that type of law, so they referred me to Jonathan Wharton. The first time I talked to him, he was finishing my sentences. I had been explaining my cry so much, it was refreshing to talk to someone who not only understood where I was coming from, but could state the law to combat the problem with the first conversation. Wharton addressed the “terrible” attorney with knowledge, skill set, and a command that she went days without a response. Then when she did respond, he met her with case law that shut her up! I felt like a kid saying, “My dad is stronger than your dad!” I had not felt this good in two years since the saga began. I found the strength to clean my apartment better, be truly present with my children, I laughed, and then I cried an ugly cry of gratitude. The relief I felt was God sent. The prayers I prayed, and for a stranger to come in and help us when those who I thought I could trust cheated us, helped me learn what trust looks like. I am sure I am going off on a tangent, but the contractor who built my house poorly and did not complete it is a preacher. The horrible attorney I hired was someone I knew from the small town where I graduated. Both failed me significantly. They knew that my husband had just died before our building the house and they knew that I had a child with special needs. Therefore, you would think they would lead with integrity. To this day, I have not physically met Jonathan. I tried him with the little faith I had left, and he led us out of a dark place with his skill set, knowledge, and a true calling for the job. I was under a federal goverment investigation, which the result of a very complicated investigation with my former employer and Texas Department of Insurance. This went on for many years while being represented by attorney's that were provided by my former employer. I finally decided that things seem to worsen and I needed someone that would listen, hear me and would fight for my defense and not the company that I was employed by. I immediately retained Mr. Clark. I felt if I had any chance of being cleared of this investigation and getting my life back, I needed Mr. Clark to defend me. In mid of 2007, I was released from the goverment's investigation. All of the other parties involved were indicted and the company paid millions in fines that were a result of TDI,OCC,HUD,and OTS. Alvaro was an excellant choice for our circumstance. He lead us through a very difficult point in our married life! He even helped get us the education we needed to make an informed choice. When we were dealing with the investment company who held the deed on our home, he made every effort trying to help us remain in our home. We were just unable to keep it, one of us had taken a pay cut and the other couldn't work at all.
