My case: DUI. With complications. High BAC. Collision involved. Open and shut case against me.
There were several law firms I could have hired. Nothing bad at all to say aboutthe other firms I spoke with. Melissa stood out head and shoulders above the other firms I spoke with based on her overall experience, but especially her prosecutorial experience. Her knowledge and skill, plus her ability to communicate, stood out when we spoke.
Outstanding service and professionalism! As events unfolded, Melissa ALWAYS kept me promptly informed of what to expect, next steps, and timing for me to complete actions. She is always super-prepared, and if you follow her advice things will go super smoothly.
Melissa also is fantastic to work with! Totally accommodating of my work schedule and when it was best for me to take calls. She explained everything and put me at ease right up front. In my situation, I have vocational factors with regulatory impacts outside of my DUI case. Melissa was extra-patient with me discussing these outside considerations while we worked my case. Fortunately she also has a great sense of humor!
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Melissa delivers RESULTS. She took care of everything so I didn't have to worry. She negotiated positively and constructively with the prosecutor to reduce my charge to reckless driving with the absolute minimum sentence.

Neil is amazing!
Prior to hiring Neil, I had worked with 2 other attorneys for a total of 6 months & my experience was that the (other guys) had actually caused my legal experience to be prolonged by not being prepared, not being able to be reached quickly enough & not providing legal advice that would squash problems immediately (which led to them making a ton of $ off of my ignorance & I had to use all the equity in my home to pay them). When I called Neil, I asked him to be my “bodyguard,” & wow, he followed through! There were times I asked him to provide responses to CPS that were so aggressive, that I thought for sure he would say no; not the case-he delivered statements that sent CPS back to hell. Being nice is not the way to go in these types of cases. Hardball, minimal/vague statements & protecting your rights is the only way to escape unscathed. On one particular day, government workers showed up at my door while I was not home; I emailed Neil & asked him to meet me there & he dropped everything to make it to my house within 15 minutes for me to cooperate with the workers, without my rights being violated through a private interview that could be used against me without an attorney present to be expert witness to my statements & to jump in quickly on concerning subject matter. He was always prepared & available at all times of the day/weekends due to the emergency nature of the attack I was under. His quick, calculated responses to these sick/twisted government workers/criminals is what saved me & my family’s lives. We are forever grateful to Neil.

I contacted Jack to ask for help with my Support Modification. After talking through the details and asks of the petition, Jack laid out the process in front of me to make sure I was prepared for all outcomes. The entire team quickly jumped on some immediate needs and scheduling to make sure I had the right support to put my best case in front of the judge. We had several hurdles to deal with as well as an impending trial date, but I felt like the entire team rallied around me to get me prepared. Josh and I worked together over several sessions to create a fair strategy and proactively address the key issues. In what was supposed to be my trial date, Josh quickly jumped on an issue that perhaps the judge had not reviewed key submissions and requested a continuance to make sure everything was considered. That instinct proved to be correct as the judge had not reviewed everything and while that pushed a decision out, it was the right move. I would use Jack, Josh and the entire Berner team in the future.

My family came to Jack's Law office with quite a burden on our shoulders and a lot of confusion on how best to move forward. Ms. Halbert was the lawyer assigned to my now-adopted, then foster daughter when she was in state dependency. Ms. Halbert was incredibly engaged and went out of her way to advocate for my daughter's wishes, including driving multiple hours to meet with her briefly, and pushing against DCYF when their wishes contrasted with that of my daughter. I would absolutely want her representing me, or any child, if I had the option to choose.

Laura Shaver is an excellent defense attorney. She defended our son on a DUI and a totally uncalled for DV charge. A big portion of my job involves driving, so when I recently received a traffic infraction I decided to look into options rather than just “lying down” and allowing it to go onto my driving record. I reached out to Mr. Lawrence and I am extremely glad I did. After reaching out and paying the retainer, he assured me that “he had it handled from here”. Everything went extremely smooth. During the few months that my case was processed, Jason went the extra mile to help me to understand exactly what my situation involved. He took the time to relieve my concerns and explain in terms I could understand, exactly what my options were. When I found Michael, I had just been fired by my second attorney, in a very complicated, difficult, and high stakes divorce case. My case had already been run into the ground by two previous lawyers and even more so by the entire so-called justice system. From day one, my divorce was high conflict but Josh has handled every scenario with professional ease. He has been highly communicative every step of the way, even contacting me on an occasional weekend if the issue was urgent (fortunately, this didn't happen often). While he's been phenomenal during the entire process (a high compliment given how challenging things have been), it was how he represented me during mediation with my ex and his lawyer that truly impressed me. Our mediation took 10 hours, and by hour 8, it seemed that the mediation might not work out and we would head to possible trial. However, Josh knew the position was was standing firm in and helped me achieve a fair and equitable settlement. He has ensured complete thoroughness, including walking me through word-for-word the settlement document drafted during mediation.
I also want to note that while his job was to be my attorney during divorce, which he did so to the highest professional degree, Josh also showed his human side though care and compassion. Brilliant strategists!! I had a very serious issue. I was charged with 3 counts of a serious crime which led to almost a 2 week trial. The events leading up to this trial happened 3 years ago, but they stuck with me the whole time. I am not sure how they are able to do it, but with Mr. Lawrence's help we pulled a win. I plead not guilty to all 3 charges and if I was convicted of even 1 of them I would have lost my career and my life as I know it. This attorney is about money, first and foremost. He is greedy, lies, and is a hypocrite. He used my money for his own personal matters and led me to believe that I owed him money.
I did eventually get my 20 thousand dollars that he misappropriated, but only after I found out he had been doing thesame thing to other people as well.
Watch out!!! He is very charming, and will pretend to be your friend, whilst taking advantage of you behind your back.

Lawyers tend to get a bad wrap yes even defense attorneys. Braden represented me on two overlapping cases and never made me feel any kind of way. He probably could tell from my face that i already felt the full embarrassing weight of having to come to him with the added burden of another case whilst litigating the first....despite us not seeing eye to eye politically he still defended my second amendment rights and even got my firearm returned to me. Which i thought would never happen and was very satisfying to go down to city hall and receive my gun back. Even though the crooked Marysville cops still have my magazine and holster for some very strange reason I'm proud to say my firearm remains in my possession. Braden, throughout the two years he represented me always made sure i was on time and informed about what time and where I needed to be and despite not having seen an end to my Marysville drama still give Mr. Pence a 5 star review. He's a great guy and so extremely well respected in the community that if you pick him for some reason get priority treatment from even the worst judges/prosecutors and never have to worry about sitting and waiting for your name to get called in alphabetical order. i'm sure many lawyers are granted that respect its just a really cool feeling to know that you are being represented by a winner like Braden one of the best. Also just so its known just because I couldn't jump through the ridiculous b/s that the Marysville court requires of a person that is gainfully employed and living an otherwise productive tax paying lifestyle doesn't take away from the great job he will do for anyone he represents. The State spent thousands of man hours in three different cases over a three year period to try and put a medical marijuana patient behind bars. Mr. Mestel made the Feds dismiss their case at the day of jury trial at the door of the courthouse. But that was wise as he had just outright beat KIng And Pierce County with jury acqittals.. The State spent, by their own accounting, a quarter of a million trying to jail me and he cost a mere fraction against that state funded onslaught and I paid him, gladly and with a fraction of what he and his wife got for my wife in two personal injury suits. I am still in the medical marijuana industry and paying taxes and doing fine as Mark whooped Goliaths ass three times before they backed off and now respect me as legitimate business man who payes taxes and has rights!
