If you have an amicable divorce go to a mediator or give a small retainer fee. This office has a NON-refundable refund for retainers. My case was during the holidays and after we signed everything the office went silent. I had to email to check status and then they would move the case. I wasn't even informed on when my divorce was finalized, I found it on public records. Although I am knowledgeable and know it was my mistake for not reading the terms, I hope this helps someone to ask about refundable retainer fees. My divorce billable hours were about 2,500. My retainer fee was 5,500 so the office made an easy $2,900.00. Hope this review helps someone in the future!

Mr Cove is by far the best lawyer I have ever hired. Unlike other lawyers, he is very thorough and makes sure you have a full understanding of everything going on including “dumbing down” the legal language for you to know exactly what you’re reading. I have been a client for years and it has grown into a genuine friendship.
He’s not always gonna say what you want to hear as he will not lie to you unlike other lawyers have done to me in the past just to get money. I can say this though, as long as you do exactly as he says, he will fight and knows just how to do it.

I would leave zero stars if I could. Empire came highly recommended from another law firm. Worst referral we have ever received. The Court Reporter showed up late for the zoom deposition and left her audio on the entire time with the tv playing in the background. We scheduled a 2 hour deposition for 4pm and Empire charge us almost double the hourly rate for after hour charges without letting us know there would be an additional fee. They corrected the invoice and when we paid it charged us the original amount of the invoice. I call and get disconnected or voicemail on a regular basis. This company has been very unprofessional and rude. I would recommend another court reporting service for your needs.

When I hired Richard the state attorney's office was offering me 3 years probation with an adjudication of guilt, I'd lose my civil rights for a 3rd degree felony, even though I don't have an extensive criminal history and the only prior history was 20 years old. I specifically hired Richard because I wanted the judge to order the probation department to verify employment through pay stubs and when I mentioned this to the public defender assigned to my case she had no idea that that was even an option.
Richard ended up getting the employment verification through pay stubs, as well he also got the state to agree to adjudication withheld, meaning I keep my civil rights, plus 18 months probation that will automatically terminate when a small amount of restitution is paid, meaning I will spend a total of 5-days on probation.
I'll definitely use Richard in future legal matters as well as recommend him to anyone I know who needs a competent attorney.

I would leave zero stars if I could. Empire came highly recommended from another law firm. Worst referral we have ever received. The Court Reporter showed up late for the zoom deposition and left her audio on the entire time with the tv playing in the background. We scheduled a 2 hour deposition for 4pm and Empire charge us almost double the hourly rate for after hour charges without letting us know there would be an additional fee. They corrected the invoice and when we paid it charged us the original amount of the invoice. I call and get disconnected or voicemail on a regular basis. This company has been very unprofessional and rude. I would recommend another court reporting service for your needs.
