Remembering my chaotic night in jail from my negligence of choice AGAIN, I’m reminded how I heard two officers say, ” She’s gonna need a good Lawyer “. As my head hung down, I knew they were right. Lauren held my hand through the entire process. Literally. She saw how scared I was of the entire thing, but her and her team are some of the most kind and empathetic people I’ve ever met. I loved the open line of communication, I could message them whenever I needed, and they’d be very swift with a reply. I spoke to MANY attorneys before I chose Lauren, and she was the only attorney I spoke to where it seemed like she genuinely CARED about me, my story, and my child. She fought very hard, aggressively, and with passion. She made me very prepared and did so much to ease my anxiety. Other attorneys told me what I needed couldn’t be done. Mislead us. Would have been better to just tell us she didn’t know what to do, instead we spent a lot of money for something we thought was right. Now 8ish months later found out that everything done was useless. Had to hire a different attorney to handle things the right way.

We made it very clear we wanted out from any liability (This was the main goal). You advised us the affidavit would be sufficient. And it turned out it wasn’t. It would have been nice if you were straight forward with us in letting us know the affidavit we paid to have you do was absolutely useless in regards to protecting us unless it was signed by a judge.

I would give Mike and Jessica 10 stars if I could.
When Mike says he feels most alive as a lawyer when in a trial, he is being honest, and that alone sets him apart from 99% of his peers (while being honest makes him unique among all lawyers!) Jessica Phillips is Mike's fully effective teammate, and together they are unbeatable.
My previous three 'Super Lawyers' just wanted to shuffle the paperwork, collect the $400/hr fee, and not really make the most out of the circumstances of the divorce. With assets in the 7 figures, Mike easily saved me some multiple of 6 figures by being persuasive with the judge, not pressuring me in any way to settle at mediation, and working patiently to maximize my best outcome. He and Jessica were also very quick to get up to speed on my divorce, as I hired them in an emergency just 30 days before our first mediation. Their unwavering focus from day 1 was how to best present the case to a judge and jury.
And in that regard, Mike has a carefully honed intuition about judges and jurors, a sense of judgment that makes him such a credible adversary in trial or negotiations. Other lawyers, sensing Mike and Jessica's determination and skill at winning in court, may want to pressure their client to settle rather than go to trial. I contacted the Schneider firm in 2008 to discuss a case that could prove detrimental to my career. On the first appointment, Mike assured me that he would be able to assist me but did warn me of the lengthy backlog which could delay my case for several years. Fast forward over 7 years later to 2016 and Mike still remembered my issue and was able to SUCCESSFULLY argue on my behalf. He was always only a phone call away. I believe that many attorneys would have forgotten about my issue instead moving on to more high profile cases. Not with Mike. I never felt alone during this long, scary process. Good attorneys are a rare commodity, especially these days, when people seem to be so obsessed on milking money from others. I found Mike and Melissa to be real honest people. Being honest is one pre-requisite; the other quality that a client must seek in hiring an attorney is whether he/she is competent or not. I would also give an A+ to Mike and his team on competency. He and his team represented me on two accounts and did their work with due diligence while charging reasonable fee. They won both cases for me, which were not so easy. Another reason I admire Schneider and company is that they advised me not to file another case. When an attorney tells you not to do something and save your money, trust him. Most attorneys would take your case and give you wrong advice. Not Mike. I am a big fan of Mike and his team and respect them, after being burned by numerous attorneys (on the same cases). My wife's case was a difficult one with a harsh judge and a child endangerment issue. Tough to over come, but Mimi got the minimum sentence possible for us. I recently reached out to this law firm looking for a consultation. They said there was no conflict of interest and scheduled an appointment for me. Upon arrival they informed me that despite taking my money for the consultation appointment, they apparently had not done their due diligence and a conflict of interest prevented the consultation. This is of course after they had me fill out questionnaires providing my personal information and wasting my time and money driving to the appointment and back. To top it off, they still haven't refunded my money for the consultation after multiple weeks time and following up with their office about this refund. Avoid this firm if you do not want to be robbed of your time and money.
