Attorney Brent was the best part of a difficult life chapter. From our first phone conversation I felt heard. The charges I was facing were overwhelming. He assured me he could help. He certainly did. With his experience in my county and with the DA, he was able to work out a solution and in the end I received a ticket, for some thing I thought would go to trial! Naturally, most people do not want to find themselves in the need of a great litigation attorney, but should that need ever arise, Brent Nistler and his law firm comes highly recommended. You will not be disappointed in the decision to retain Brent or anyone in his firm. Brent Nistler is the epitome of professionalism. Brent was very attentive to my case, despite his case load. He always made me feel like I was a very important client. He took my case to trial, went up against 3 attorneys from the very large Milwaukee law firm, Foley and Lardner and WON! He is not to be underestimated. My legal fees were extremely reasonable. Brent Nister is definitely worth every bit and more. There are no guarantees on what the outcome will be, but I felt going to trial not only was Brent confident and prepared, but he took his time to prepare me and instill confidence in me for trial. I was charged with my 2nd OWI back in 2021. John handled my case for 3 years. It took a year for my trial/hearing for the first ticket I was issued. John fought non stop to have my case dismissed due to lack of evidence, and witnesses. The case was indeed dismissed w/out prejudice. The ADA a few days later reissued my ticket. John did not hesitate to continuing handling this matter, and yet again fought endlessly to have this case dismissed due to lack of evidence and witnesses. John was very thorough and caring during this matter, due to myself also going through a serious DV Trial which was the reason for my “OWI.” John worked diligently on my case until yet again, it was finally dismissed with prejudice. John also helped me in navigating how to have this removed from my criminal record/fingerprints. He shared all evidence/information with me, kept me updated, along with always being available to call, text, email. I highly recommend John and his law office, he will fight for you! Got a speeding ticket going 28 over in 70 zone. Got it reduced charge so no mandatory suspension. My recent experience with Jessica Birmingham at Hartley Rauch Law Office was top notch. I needed a lot of hand holding \ explanations of what to expect during the 10 month process as a first (and last) timer as a defendant. Jessica was quick to respond to emails and texts, and arrived early to court to review what would happen at the particular moment in the case. Which I definitely needed as I thought I would pass out most times from anxiety. After court she detailed the next steps and the expectations from me. Eventually, through lots of behind the scenes negotiations with the district attorney we came to a favorable agreement. I recommend her if you or a loved one needs a criminal defense attorney in Waukesha Co (and I believe Milw Co too).

Mr. Hattley defense strategy was to have be evaluated for competency from the get go. I leave the hospital on Sep 11 for chest pain, which the hospital wouldnt treat me for because I’ve been put on disruptive list or Do not treat list. On Sep 20, 2022 I submit complaints to the DOJ and Washington OIG regarding my healthcare. Then I am violently arrested and tasered in the chest on OCT 10. I communicated to him several times to request the hospital videos of me being struck in the forehead by police officer while handcuffed with two officer behind me while I’m cooperating .He didn’t follow through and those videos were lost. I requested in person and through email for him to secure the body cam footage of my arrest that happen in West Allis. It took him nearly six months to attain those. He watched the videos with me of the west Allis police using extreme unnecessarily force including one officer choking me with two hands in the hospital bed. My thumb was broken and I had bloody wrists, and a burn mark on my ankle from wear a taser was held. And promised me that this will all go away. The West Allis Police wrote multiple false charges and those body cam videos show clear and concise evidence of their crimes. He then gave me the body cam footage on a flash drive which I watched with my wife. My wife an MPS teacher was hit by a car on 3 different occasions and our apartment was broken into during the trial. Mr. Hartley didn’t fight for me or justice in the courtroom he only saw me as number and disabled veteran and that was his defense strategy. He promised me that this would all go away however he ran away and wouldn’t even help me file an excessive force complaint but he did get the case dismissed due to incompetence and further silenced me to not allow me to testify. The United States Army has now violated all of my civil and Human rights.

John is the best!!! John worked with me on a minor infraction with the law, which I still do not believe to be a just accusation. But due to lack of supporting evidence in email, as they were deleted by the company I was working for at the time. We chose to settle, John was able to get my "felony theft charge" which everyone knows would have been damaging to anybody career and future endeavors for the rest of their lives . And was able to get it reduced to misdemeanor and eventually all the way down to a "civil charge of disorderly conduct" basically the equivalent of a traffic ticket. Worst attorney ever...paid him $14,000 dollars for nothing. He took advantage of the situation we were in and literally made all these promises that he didn't fulfill. The judge found him in contempt of court at one of the hearings. I don't usually leave bad reviews but its been years since he represented me and I can't forget how bad I got screwed. Please think twice before hiring Michael Maistelman, he does a terrible job at everything. He is the Epitome of a money hungry lawyer that isn't looking out for your best interest.
