Hello. My name is Dirk and I was unexpectedly served divorce papers by my wife a few months ago. As I never saw this coming, & since young kids were involved, you can imagine how frantic and emotionally distraught I was. Additionally, I was informed that there was to be an emergency custody hearing on Tuesday…note: it was Friday afternoon when I was served. Therefore, I had to research and retain a Family Law attorney by Monday (only one day before the hearing). Thus, I sped through Google looking for any family lawyer with a decent Google Review Score (4+ Stars). I didn’t know what I was looking for, but I really needed help. Now.
I called a few firms Monday morning. The fee to retain their services varied (with one stating they needed $4,500!). I politely rejected that offer. Now, however, looking back…maybe I should have gone with the bigger firm requesting the larger retainer. The firm that I landed on was Wes Dodge Law. To Wes’s benefit, he did agree to meet me with no prior notice on that Monday. His initial willingness to jump through hoops, so I thought, was an action that I greatly respected at the time. We met in person, and after talking for about 10 minutes, I noticed that Wes was somewhat of a stoic individual. Not unprofessional, but the way he interacted was cold. Seeing how I was still an emotional wreck due to the divorce revelation, I would have presumed his “bedside manner”, as I would of any Family Law Attorney, would have been a bit better. It wasn’t.
The retainer initially charged for my case was only around half of the $4,500 retainer cited by the previous firm & sounded like a huge break for me. I agreed and then between Monday/Tuesday was able to coordinate with Wes to compose an affidavit to rebut the statements made by my wife.
Flash forward, it has now been two months since I retained Wes, and am dropping his legal services, TODAY, after a frustrating phone call where he, once again, could not offer any solid guidance for legal questions that I had and actually mocked my financial status… Remember that emergency custody hearing I mentioned, where Wes was compensated to defend me as his client against the false statements made in an affidavit by my wife? Yeah, not so much.
I literally could have chosen to defend myself, not attend, and the results would have pretty much been the exact same. What did I pay you for Wes?!? From that hearing, and written into a Temporary Custody Court Order, my wife was granted 100 Physical & Legal Custody of our children until a future trial date could be scheduled; based on nothing more than an affidavit of false statements.
Apparently former clients of Wes Dodge have also aired their grievances online through reviews saying, “Our case has been going on almost a year and a half and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has gotten accomplished”, “In two years he did very little. He wouldn’t return my calls for weeks then he would bill me for it.”, or even “…he will take your money and try to make you feel stupid”.
In Summary, after working with Wes for two months, I hold deep-seeded client concerns due to:
1) his inaction (how do you go to a custody hearing and win literally NOTHING for your client),
2) his frequent random side-of-the-mouth comments like “…well it seems that you’re having financial problems regardless” (you’re a lawyer Wes…not a poorly trained life-coach. Please keep your unhelpful opinions to yourself), and
3) his professional apathy and/or inability to take charge and guide you through the legal battlefield during one of the worst possible times in any person’s life (“I honestly can’t say when you’re going to have a (Divorce) trial scheduled” What?!?).
I would strongly recommend seeking family law representation elsewhere. I say that as a father, MBA, & Navy Veteran.

Wes is extremely knowledgeable in regards to divorce and family law. My divorce had a few interesting twists and turns along the way. Wes did a great job of compiling the information, giving scenarios that court would normally go by, advising me accordingly. He is very professional and puts the mind at ease.

They are very good. I was injured at my job and hassled by the workman's comp. The attorney assigned to me, Michael Khalili was very professional and always available. Workman's comp for HyVee was aggressive and put me through many unnecessary and painful extra orthopedic appointments before I contacted Hauptman O' Brian. They didn't have to do this as their time is extremely valuable and we were not clients. And as I stated the advise was not legal, just a kind person listening and sharing life knowledge. These will be the only lawyers to call once the situation progreesses through the necessary steps as they see people as more than just a payday!

What can I say, the best experience and outcome I could receive! Julie was straight forward and direct with what she needed from me, which I liked. It made me feel like there were no shortcuts or games being played. This gave me confidence that my case may not take as long as I thought. Furthermore, Julie was patient in explaining and communicating EVERYTHING. I felt as if I could pass the bar after every one of our conversations(lol). Deceptive, avoided getting back to me about charges, did not understand my case, went to two hearings in the short time he was hired and did not advocate on my behalf when he had the opportunity to do so. After his withdrawal he charged over $2,000 more in unexplained fees that were not applicable, after the final Bill had been paid.

Mr. Whelan and Joanna, his Paralegal were exceptional in handling my case regarding custody modification for my 10 year old. They were compassionate / knowledgeable and most importantly realistic; they didn’t give false promises and put it straight forward. We had lots of documents and they were able to weed through them for substantial exhibits to be used in our case. Went from joint legal only to joint physical/legal. While we were utterly prepared for court, we settled outside of court standing firm. We were recommended by a couple others to this attorney and we will use/recommend him and his staff in the future.

Very poor representation during court. Switched attorneys on me before trial..reason was because Lawrence had trial that day for someone else. Never did any type of evidence gathering, seemed to always act suprised/taking notes down on something that had already been discussed and had notes on. Very expensive. Overcharged on things that should havent been charged on. Me personally , i regret hiring these guys and if I could go back and fire them before my trial I would have. They totally let me down as a client , were quick to hurry and settle a deal, without even attempting to do any questioning of the opposing party. These guys are pathetic and exactly opposite of aggressive.

Bob Sherrets is a Lawyer I highly recommend. I trust him to give solid advice. Most people have probably met a Lawyer who would do anything to inspire a case that may make them a profit. He is not that person. He is reliable, communicative, and responds in a very timely manner. It feels as if he has a sincere passion for his profession. I'm a fan of his work.

My husband hired Bill Bianco to represent him on a lawsuit he was filing against someone. During the time Bill represented him I have never seen my husband so stressed and anxious. He kept saying I think my own lawyer is working against me. Finally after months of Bill doing nothing my husband fired him. He has now found a great lawyer and is so much happier. Bill Bianco is the worst lawyer in Nebraska! I am going to try and keep this as short as possible, but considering all the incomprehensible things Bill Bianco did or didn't do with my case that won’t be easy. I have needed lawyers many times in my business career of 25+ years. In this time, I have had some pretty bad lawyers but none of them were nearly as horrible as Bill Bianco. I have had opposing lawyers treat me better than he did as my lawyer. After 4 months of malpractice, disrespect and ethical violations I fired him.
This review is the first of many things I have planned for him. Next I am reporting Bill to the Counsel for Discipline to be reprimanded and I am also suing him for my legal fees plus damages. From overcharging me for work he didn't do, to disrespecting myself, my experts and my other attorneys it was beyond bad. You would be better off representing yourself than hiring Bill Bianco. If you’ve had problems with him please reach out to me I may be able to help you. This guy should not be allowed to practice law ever again!!!

He refused to answer my questions but would answer questions I did not ask.
So many underhanded tactics to mislead. He cancelled a trial date without telling me, stole thousands from me AFTER I fired him and took weeks doing so.
Flippant mocking instead of advising on issues. I caught him in numerous lies from one paragraph to the next he would speak out of both sides of his mouth. He's dishonest, illegal and corrupt. He created a far bigger issue.

So you saying Unfortunately, your review does not present an accurate or fair picture of this firm is a dang lie because everything stated about your firm in the review calling you guys a circus and how Darren Pekny was embarrassed by a guy who doesn’t have a law degree and all your firm is filled with are money hungry jokes, is a very accurate statement and review and anyone can look it up if they wanted to. I believe it even stated you would try to lie to get people not to believe the review but unfortunately it’s the truth. That's their greatest trick!!!! I was not a client of this corrupt place but this firm lied and helped keep my daughter away from me when I didn't do anything I was blamed for. He tried to tell on me for things that I have said to him like what you are reading now, just because he knows he’s going to lose. He knows that no matter what the facts are the facts but will continue to lie just to get paid. Darren has no problem taking money from someone, knowing he won’t win a case against a guy who doesn’t have a law degree. If you want to laugh then Darren is your man because he is definitely one of the funniest jokes out there! If you want to be robbed of all your money this is your man as well! Don't forget your popcorn when you come to this circus! Darren seriously is a complete joke and you will lose a lot of money if you use this firm! They will reply to this to try to get people to not believe me but honestly if you retain this law firm you will be losing money so go find any other law firm out there! Here’s Darren at his best in the courtroom “well your honor I’m new to this case so” when in fact he’s been on the case for 6 months he just knew he looked dumb and then I put him in his place right in front of the judge! FACTS!
