Attorney Franko was very helpful, knowledgeable, and caring during the events of my case. From experience, Tom is HIGHLY recommended for high-conflict Family Law cases. Particularly frivolous "Ex Parte PFA's". His criminal defense background mixed with family law is the perfect combination to combat frivolous pfa's and vindictive parents. ESPECIALLY those who have past, a criminal background. We are at sever high risk in the Family Court system and often abused by the flawed system.
Tom's criminal defense background utilized in Family Law greatly aide in exposing abusers of the flawed Philadelphia Family Court system. Example, if you want a liar to be exposed beyond ALL doubt then he is your guy.
In my opinion, one of the most attractive features of working with Tom is he does not talk to you like an attorney just out to get your money. You keep it straight with him he'll have the best possible plan available.
Don't waste your money getting talked down to or having your case dragged out by an attorney who can't see the creator of the conflict. Talk to Tom. He'll come up with a plan.

Mr. Landis was extremely down to earth and actually had the best price around. I hired him for my preliminary trial and he showed up 4 times for me and never charged me an extra dime. While other lawyers automatically advised me to agree to an ARD program, Mr. Landis was confident the nature of my case was not serious enough and advised me to at least try to let him get it thrown out in the preliminary stage. That is exactly what happened. Hopefully I will never need a lawyer again, but if I do, I will be using his card.

As an out-of-state resident with a family member in trouble, I needed to find a competent criminal attorney to address charges for an impending court date. I was referred to Mike Engle from the DA's office in my state noting that he was the President of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Attorneys. I found Mike to be very responsive (he actually called me back the same day) and willing to step me through the legal process. He answered all of my questions in a very friendly manner. We covered the legal implications, the fees, the process, and the potential outcomes so that I felt that putting my trust into Mike's hands was the very best decision I could make after interviewing more than a half dozen attorneys. Now that the case has progressed, Mike has continued to be affable and reachable. Im a juvenile from WILLIAMSPORT PA it was a racist town/county and they have a 98% prosecution rate. They always target black kids/juveniles and throw any charges the are false & outlandish & 9.99/10 they stick. I have been adjudicated for many charges i didnt have anything to do with because they take the stand, and lie. They tried to put gun, shooting & burglary charges on me after all the other false allegations they charged me with that i had no doing in. My public defender was no help and let it happened. When my mom finally hired Ed. Alva. They acted very straight and played by the rules. He pointed out the facts and saw that it was BS on my evidentiary hearing. And they dropped all my charges and released me from probation the same day he was hired. He's calm understanding and actually does his job VERY well. & he will be my lawyer until he retires. But i will always use this law firm. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

After having several attorneys who did not believe in my husband's case, but did not hesitate to take my money. We came across Alva & Shuttlesworth via referral and was introduced to Mr. Foster. Since day one of speaking to Ed, he saw the vision and believed in my husband's case. He didn't make any promises or sell us dreams like lawyers in the past. However, he simply said I will do my best to represent my client.
My husband currently serving a life sentence for a crime he did not commit has been fighting for his life for over 15 years. We hired Ed for PCRA Evidentiary hearing, and he came in, reviewed the file, spoke with his client several times, went to see his client, and listened to what his client brought to the table. I was arrested for two DUI’s a short time apart. The first lawyer I hired (not Kevin) was from one of several solicitations I received in the mail a short time after my arrests. Since I knew nothing about how this all really works, I decided that they were all probably pretty much the same, so I hired the lawyer that was closest to my home. He took my $1000 deposit, and showed up for both hearings, (which really didn’t take much preliminary work on his part). I was very concerned at this early juncture so I tried to reach him at his office several times before trial on either case and he didn’t return my calls until shortly before the first trial. When he did, he said he’s been very busy with cases that are more serious and asked why I was harassing his office, even though I had only called and left polite messages, at most twice a week, without a call back. Needless to say I knew I made a big mistake hiring this guy. So I kissed the $1000 goodbye and quickly looked for another lawyer.
Kevin was recommended to me by a relative who actually works for another lawyer. After talking with him on the phone for a short time, I had a good feeling about him so I decided to make an appointment and speak to him in person. I think I just gave him my name and case numbers, but before I arrived he had already familiarized himself with both cases. He explained everything to me in detail, and patiently answered all of my questions. Although I was, of course, still concerned with the possible pending consequences of the DUI’s, I left his office feeling confident that he was really going to do his best for me. I had been so worried about losing my driver’s license, jail time, criminal record, car insurance, job reputation, etc… I didn’t want to be concerned about my lawyer too. I do field service work so my driver’s license is critical to my livelihood. I came to the conclusion that I really needed to put full faith in my lawyer and let him do his job. With Kevin I felt I could do that, so I did.
Over that course of both cases and many trial appearances, I became even more confident that I had chosen the right lawyer. I discovered that Kevin really knew is way around the court room. He had a familiar rapport with the court officers and officials and knew the personality of each of the judges. He seemed to be well liked by them. He knew exactly how to make the system work for us, and to use a verse from an old Kenny Rogers song, “knew when to hold em, and when to fold em”. He was very versed in court procedures and legalese. He knew which of the legal maneuvers to use and at which time. He kept me completely informed throughout each of the trials and proceedings. Although I’m no expert in evaluating the way a trial goes, I was amazed at his expertise and subtle finesse.
When all was said and done, both of my cases were discharged! I knew I didn’t deserve jail time or to have my license suspended or any of the other consequences, including losing my job, that would have come with a guilty verdict, and Kevin did everything right to assure that didn’t happen. I know he knows just how very grateful I am too, from my obvious joy at the outcome.

Used Kevin for my boyfriends VOP hearing. It was a first time tech. violation for a DUI case. Not only did he get the detainer lifted and avoid further jail time, he was very upfront and honest. He did not give false hopes or make unrealistic expectations. Even for a simple VOP hearing, he put time and effort into the case and even followed up after the case to ensure he was released. He also has very reasonable prices. If you need a criminal lawyer, I would highly recommend Kevin.

Meeting Jeremy was a true blessing. My husband filed a false complaint against me for which I was arrested. I was very upset and very stressed. Before Jeremy, I spoke to couple of other lawyers but was not confident that they will do a good job. Jeremy Gelb represented me on a charge of possession with intent to distribute. The fact that he got me a better result than I ever expected may be the most important reason why I am giving him the highest rating but it is far from the only one. He did a number of things that made me feel like I was a priority. He returned my calls promptly. Even when he was in the middle of a high profile trial in federal court. He gave me good advice and helped me make some tough decisions. But he also listened to me and consider my point of view.
I noticed something early in my case. Other lawyers even the prosecutor treated him with respect. I could tell that he was highly regarded by his peers. I had some frighting consequences staring me in the face. In the midst of all that he made me feel that I was in good hands. Thant feeling helped me get through it all.

I was involved in a very lengthy divorce and custody battle. I had spent a fortune and had gotten nowhere. A friend referred me to Mr. Fenerty. I was amazed from our first telephone conversation. He completely understood my perspective and he also was able to explain my former spouse's take on things as well. He explained the legal stuff to me in a way I understood it and recommended that we try to calm things down. I was doubtful but I really trusted him. He took my case. He immediately called my spouse's attorney - who he knew (oh, it seems like this man knows everybody) and things changed immediately. We went to court a few times on the custody and the divorce and succeeded every time. I now am sharing custody of my kids and I feel like I did great in the divorce. Things have gotten better with my ex and I have never been happier. I ended up paying him much less than my prior attorney who accomplished so little. What can I say, sometimes we find ourselves in a tight spot. Don't take a knife to a gunfight. He was a great choice because he beat my complicated cases. I was wrongly convicted [shoplifting] and was concerned I wouldn't be approved for Citizenship although I've lived in the U.S. for over 30 years.

My name is Steve Brantley Spence, I am a financial advisor and I live in the state of Virginia. A weekend trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania changed my life forever last January 9th, 2014. Virginia is an open carry commonwealth state and I was foolish enough in my thought process and I figured Pennsylvania's laws would overlap with Virginia. I was wrong and I traveled into the city limits of Philadelphia with my 9mm handgun on the floor of my passenger seat. In the state of Virginia in order to conceal a gun you must have a permit to do so, therefore I had my gun out in the open because I did not want to break the law by having it concealed in anyway. When I arrived in Philadelphia I was involved in a small car accident. The other driver and I waited for the police to arrive and after they arrived I was arrested for not having a permit to carry in the city of Philadelphia. I was completely shocked and in disbelief that I was going to jail for a simple mistake and not knowing the law. I did not resist arrest nor was I rude to any of the officers. I was charged with a class 3 felony for not having a permit to carry in the city of Philadelphia. I've never been in any trouble prior to this incident. I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Business Management and another degree in Marketing. I also played football at East Carolina during my four years and we won back to back CUSA championships. I have two handsome sons, a beautiful niece and a fiancé that I love so very much and who rely on me. After I posted bail I was able to travel back home to Virginia and continue my work as an advisor. There was a dark cloud over my thoughts and life because all of the lawyers that I reached out to told me that I would have to serve jail time and there was no way around it. Mr. Mincey did not make any guarantees but he promised me he would do all that he could to make sure I would not serve any jail time. If I were convicted of a felony I would have loss all of my securities licenses and been fired from my firm and be banned from practicing as a financial advisor. Mr. Mincey took on my case and worked very hard to work out a favorable deal for me with the District Attorney's office. Kevin stayed in constant contact with me and updated me every step of the way. I did not receive any jail time. I'm on probation but I still have my securities licenses and able to practice as an advisor. August 2014 I was granted full custody of my son. I don't know where my son would be if I were in jail and not able to take him in and raise him now.
