Sometime ago I was scrolling through my computer for an attorney to represent me for a case I have with the state of Oregon. with a situation were I happen to live on the eastside at another state. and I came through with Mr. Graham C. Blake and the team at Dore Law Firm are my personal 2025' heroes! I moved from Oregon to Florida as a licensed driver and was unaware all the states in this great Country were merging into a National Database. I found that out when the Florida DMV notified me that my license was being suspended for things they were seeing on my Oregon DMV history from 20 ago that appeared (falsely) unresolved. Anyone who's been to a DMV in the last 50 years knows how kind, sympathetic and understanding the good people that work there are. To add an additional layer of difficulty to my situation the Florida DMV will only accept email transmittals from other state's DMV's and good old Oregon only sees fit to still use a facsimile machine in this day and age. Needless to say, the only people who had any success in unravelling the cross-Country mess I found myself in were the good folks over at Dore Law Firm! I am so grateful!

While walking, I was hit by a vehicle. The collision broke my leg. I thought the case was simple. The other side was responsible for the harm they caused. What I didn’t realize is my recovery was going to have its ups and downs. I did not know the legal system on how the insurance carrier was going to view my injuries as opposed to the effects it had on my life. I was referred to David Eder and his firm. I was injured in a car accident, and I hired a lawyer without any research or knowledge of what to even look for. The experience was terrible, to say the least. I got false information, lost money I didn’t have and wasted a lot of time with a lot of added stress because I couldn’t get any answers or help. I was lucky enough to know someone else who was already going through the legal process with Attorney David Eder. My conversation with them is what also made me realize I was completely with the wrong firm. I was grateful my case hadn’t already closed and reached out to David. He spent time with me on the phone and in person walking me through everything and answering questions so simply, questions I had been asking the old attorney for the last 1.5yrs! Mr. Turnoy is easily one of the best attorneys available for criminal defense. My situation was unique, and caused me a great deal of anxiety. Jeff did an excellent job on our son’s DV case. As soon as he was assigned, things started moving very quickly with visible results in just a few hours.
He negotiated with the DDA to make a diversion program available preventing the long term stigma associated with the particular charges on hisrecord. Until his involvement, this option wasn’t available.
His communication was professional, compassionate, and sharp. His appearance and demeanor were also polished. I believe both factors help provide tangible results.

When my nephew was arrested and charged with a criminal offense and thrown in jail, our family was in shock. He was there as a tourist on his own, while I am in NYC the rest of the family overseas, and he made a mistake based on cultural differences and without bad intentions. We were scared and lost as to what to do and had to find a great lawyer. A friend of a friend gave us 3 names, and we called all 3, but ONLY ONE called back promptly on the Sunday - and that was Michael Levine (the remaining calls trickled in during the week). We were so lucky because over the next month he proved to be not only a competent lawyer but also responsive, communicative, friendly, and to my nephew he provided real emotional support to guide him and calm him throughout the month. The case was successfully dismissed and that was based on his legal work and filings, but I heard stories from my nephew about how in the courthouse Michael was friendly and polite to everyone, and he sensed that the people who worked there knew and liked Michael and were kind and cooperative in return. Michael was also very fair with the price, and in fact his initial quote was very modest so soon after we started we offered to pay him a higher fee just because we could see he was doing more work than anyone anticipated. And so all in all I'd say BIG THANKS to Michael and we would warmly recommended.

tldr: I was fortunate to hire Rich mid-case and got the best possible legal outcome (charges dropped and expunged) combined with a DUI attorney and support-office who really helped reduce the anxiety associated with fighting the charge. Had my case gone to trial, I know Rich would have won, but I am also sure his reputation is a big part of the reason the prosecutor/police didn't go to trial.
My case was a low-blow DUII (0.06 at the station). I made aggravating mistakes by talking/lying to the police (don't ever talk to the police) and performing the field sobriety tests (a mixed bag). I had some good facts going for me, but DUII isn't a charge most police or prosecutors will let go.
A few words on DUII charges in Oregon. There is no plea bargaining, so hiring a paper pusher or negotiator won't do it. If charges are not dropped, there is only diversion or going to trial. The law is tilted to make trial difficult for the defense. Most people will have to plead guilty and the state knows this. If you want to avoid charges or go to court you need some good facts and a lawyer who is formidable and known in the courtroom for DUII trial defense. You want someone who relishes the idea of arguing your case or a case like it every day, winning, getting better, and then arguing the same points next year. This is Rich.
I had a non-specialist lawyer representing me after my arrest, but I had grown uncomfortable enough that when I was finally charged, I auditioned Rich (after reading much of his great advice on Avvo). During the initial consultation Rich gave me a preview of how he would try the case on my behalf and it was decisive and convincing. After re-discussing strategy with my original lawyer, I realized I had to switch to Rich if I wanted to fight.
The Oberdorfer Law office handled the case transfer with the utmost kindness and professionalism. Rich outlined the overall trial strategy and developed several new prongs of attack as we got closer. Rich read every long anxious treatise and theory I sent him about my case and responded quickly and firmly to put me back on track. He was experienced enough to tell me why we shouldn't litigate every detail in front of the judge and jury even when it seemed like those details should have been minor points in our favor.
Rich drove out to my town twice to represent me in court as the case moved towards trial. He drafted and consulted with me on several legal motions which he entertained filing but which we ultimately decided to reserve until trial. At all steps he included me in the decision process and treated me with respect beyond what I earned. I was not a perfect client, but I could not have dreamed of a more perfect lawyer.
The end was interesting. We thought we had a case we could win at trial and Rich had run various parts by me several times. The prosecution then scheduled a court date which the officer could not attend. This should have been embarassing for them, but there was an excuse. Then they conferred and scheduled another date with the court which the officer again said he could not attend. Rich carefully explained that we should lay low because prosecutor and police were laying the grounds for dismissing their own case with fingers pointed at each other (so as to have nobody to blame). This was exactly what happened and charges were dropped without prejudice before trial. They were never re-filed.
Would this remarkable set of events have happened without a trial lawyer of Rich's caliber and notoriety? I think the police officer and prosecutor would have found themselves able to read a calendar together.
Was Rich worth every penny I paid? Absolutely.
It was a long time to become eligible for expungement, but Rich and Rob handled it for me without additional charge.
I hope never to be in such a situation again, but I would hire Rich in a heartbeat if I was. I would recommend him for friends and family without hesitation.

Without Westbrook I would be sitting in prison tonight. I have worked with her for over a year on my case and when I say that, what I mean is: she has dealt with me for over a year and worked on my case.
Westbrook is the definition of left field, she comes up with stuff out of no where that makes you feel stupid for never thinking of yourself. In my year with her I definitely thought I finally had an idea of what sort of attorney she was and how she operates. NOPE! She suits up for court and it’s as if you hired a whole different woman! There were times in that court room I’d sworn I saw a cape around her. This woman is absolutely amazing and I owe my life to her, if I ever get falsely accused again there is no one else I would ever go to. EVER. If I moved across the country I’d make her get licensed there just to be my defense again.
I gave this poor woman absolute hell for things that had nothing to do with her at times and yet she’d be up until 3am working on my case. She can seem a bit unorthodox but let me assure you there is a method to her madness and you do not want to be the one going against her in a court room because she works in the most unpredictable ways and then suddenly brings it all together and by the time you realize what she did it’s already over. I’m not saying I trust the process, but I do trust her and her process.

Three years ago I was wrongfully convicted of crimes I did not commit. After winning an appeal I was assigned Westbrook. I was a problem client, I did not wanna wave my sixty day speedy trial rights to give her more time to work on my case all I saw was the thirty months I had been wrongfully imprisoned.
