I never had to use a lawyer before this year. I am glad I chose Ben Rand for several reasons:
1- I did not understand the severarity of the case and the implications if would have on me in the long run
2-Ben made the legal process very easy to understand and put me at the ease the entire time
3.He checekd in regularly to make sure everything was on track and was available to me anytime of the day
4-His quality of service, responsiveness and integrity were beyond my expectations.

Ben is not just a lawyer, but he is a friend. He is very honest, even if it's not what you want to hear. He is respectful, and understands what's best for you, and your family. He is not one of those lawyers who will just take your money, and tell you anything. If it's a waste of time, and money he'll tell you. Mr. Rand has represented me several times, and I will be the first to say that He was worth every $$$$. It's hard to find good people now days. If you call Mr. Rand you got yourself a good lawyer, and friend!!!!

I was going out of town and had a court-hearing for a reckless ticket. Was only 14+ and he advised an online driving school I could go to out of state and represented me in court. Charge was dropped to a speeding for 9pmh over and just had $169 in court fines afterwards. Saved my license and my job!

Like many others, traveling through Virginia I received a ticket. Upon a couple of weeks, I received several letters from traffic attorneys. Mr. Parrish's letter stood out the most as it was professional, informative and straight to the point. Upon getting in contact and speaking with him directly, he was very knowledgable about Virginia traffic and confident . He was able to get my violation reduced to no points! Michael Huyoung was a godsend for us. At age 68 I found myself in a situation I never could have imagined and was being prosecuted by the federal government and was looking at a long sentence.
Never ever in all my 68 years have I ever faced such a frightening possibility and had never, prior to that time, been involved in crime. I was informed by the FBI that I needed to get a good attorney.
With no experience and things like that I was at a loss to even know where to begin so I asked our eldest son, who was a policeman at that time, who he would recommend and he immediately said Michael Huyoung. Over his many years as a policeman he had seen hundreds of attorneys at work and he said Michael was the best.
He was absolutely correct.
It was a complicated case and Michael invested the time and effort both to understand what was the nature of what I was accused of and communicate honestly with me regarding what might be my outcome. Even though I my wife and I were terrified he never offered false hope but was forthright and objective.
Even the US attorney told us that I had a very good attorney.

I was falsely accused of extremely serious criminal offenses for which I was interrogated, charged, arrested, jailed, tried (jury trial), and eventually acquitted. I was initially charged with 4 felonies that grew to 6 felonies after having been indicted before a grand jury. I was facing the possibility of life in prison for things I didn't do and Mr. Bruns believed in my innocence and fought extremely hard for the truth from day one. From that first phone call I made to him in a completely terrified condition through all the court hearings and procedures all the way up to the day I walked out of that courtroom having been rightfully acquitted, Mr. Bruns brilliantly and passionately represented and defended me. Mr. Bruns also represented me at my expungement hearing which was granted by the judge and subsequently completed. Not only is Mr. Bruns an extremely skilled attorney, I observed through several court appearances and hearings that he is very highly regarded and respected in and out of the courtroom. First and foremost, when I came into the office from the beginning she was willing and ready to help. I had evidence and she was ready to help me with my case right away . There were times where I would text her after hours and she would answer my questions about the case! Josh was great and very informative. He contacted me multiple times before my case and even after. Jacqueline has decreased her divorces cases but agreed to take mine- thank goodness! I had a previous lawyer blow through a large retainer without even getting the first responses out. I was looking for help to resolve the matter quickly and efficiently- for my financial and emotional well being. It still wasn't cheap but she kept me sane while dealing with a circus on the other side. Kept the important things in life in focus. Mr. Goodwin was very professional and honest from the start, and gave me many different suggestions regarding how my speeding ticket case might be most favorable in court. I was traveling from NC to KY and was pulled over in VA after my 18 month old daughter got sick in the car - I was simply trying to get somewhere safe where we could take care of her.

I had a felony drug possession charge in Henrico county and already had one previous felony (not drugs) conviction from approximately 8 years before. However Russ was able to get me into the "first offenders program" which was probation, fines and community service followed by dismissal of the case if I completed those requirements successfully (which I did). I didn't do a single day in jail and best of all no second felony! So now I feel as though I have a future and am much more employable than I would have been. One last thing I need to add is that when I emailed or called Russ, there wasn't a single time that he didn't get back to me within a few hours. I was always a priority and I truly believe that he cares about his clients which always makes a positive difference in the outcome of a case.

This was the case in my life until I found Sheri Thaxton.
We initiated my case with Richmond City before Covid struck delaying for more than 6 months our inevitable hearing. Through the entire time Sheri kept me informed and touched bases with me often to let me know she still had me in mind and my case was moving forward within the courts, and we were waiting for the opportunity to stand before the judge.
Finally court day arrived and within 15 minutes of entering the court a decision was made in my favor which has changed my life for the better, and is the final step in restoring my life to that which it was before I caused its course to take a negative turn that affected me for decades.
