He took on my case with a very difficult property manager who refused to return my security deposit without showing me the rental townhome first.

Not a very good law firm you speak to a very knowledgeable very intelligent person at first and then you get stuck with another attorney that does not fully handle the situation properly. Then adds fees can't show up on time and does not do exactly what you asked from the first point of contact before the retainer was even placed. They ask for more money much like trying to hire a contractor you hire I'm thinking they're going to do the work and then when they get to start the work they claim they need more money. Even though it was claimed in the beginning exactly what was needed.

Just like his countryman who abused me for nearly ten years of my childhood, Avik has his own agenda when engaging with the desperate. He uses his large physical presence to try to force his will on others, invading personal space and denying them privacy in discussing priviledged information related to their case. He also withheld information about my case, choosing instead to follow his own direction while being dismissive of my concerns. He used abusive and gendered language in an effort to silence me, much like his countryman who medically, physically, and psychologically abused me as a child. Avik promotes the pseudoscience of psychology, which his countryman used to cloak his abuse of me as a child. Avik is entirely too chummy with prosecutors, having been a temporary judge in another town, and seems determined to regain that position even if it means ignoring his clients. He assured me he would look into matters for me and then went completely silent, thereby costing me further expenses.

In the free consultation, he came across as attentive, knowledgeable and competent. I think the fee he quoted was outrageous. Ultimately, he did almost no work, put in very little effort, and ignored my input without response. The agreement he brokered (written proof) was not the agreement I got. When I asked him to have the court correct it, he went radio silent.

Avik was excellent right from the beginning. He thoroughly went over how everything in the proceedings could/would go, kept me informed as to when I needed to appear in court, and most importantly, was highly encouraging in keeping my spirits up. Please do yourself a favor a find a different law firm to represent you. This place has more hidden fees than Verizon Wireless. My matter was resolved in the summer but yet I still receive bills every other month with a different fee. Nice guy but complete waste of money.

Would not recommend. I wish I represented myself. Waste of money. I had to clarify with the judge what I was asking for because Mr. Verillo just couldn’t understand after the multiple times explained. Very simple as well. The first family court call we had we had to reschedule because Mr Verillo was at a loss of words after we talked on the phone about our case and sat down together for 30 minutes before the meeting. Told the judge we needed more preparation time and a later date.the later date happens and I still had to clarify. Embarrassing and frustrating because I knew exactly what I wanted and explained multiple times but I thought an attorney would help me do it better then I could. I was very wrong. 1500.00 for nothing. If I could give 0 stars I would.

I hired James Cole after deciding that I was not comfortable with the previous attorney I had hired. Just by talking to James on the phone, I already felt so much relief and confident in him. He's punctual and he shows up. If you want representation, look elsewhere. When the hearing finally occurred, he encouraged me to take a plea of guilty to all the charges instead of going to trial to contest a trumped up charge. I was totally stressed and unfortunately followed his advice giving up my day in court. He was paid. I was not represented.

I have had the fortunate and unfortunate experience approximately six times in my 50 plus years of life working directly with attorneys for various reasons . In most cases I found them all to be so overwhelmed with cases they didn't respond in a timely manner or communicate well, if you aren't the one making them money at the time you will likely be pushed aside.
This was NOT our experience with Jame Cole. Right from our first phone call he had a sense of urgency to our case, he was quick to respond, very thorough in his explanation and evaluation of the situation. He possesses a calm and well educated demeanor. He works well with the legal system and local Judges and is respected by his peers . If we ever need to hire an attorney or are asked to recommend one James Cole will be the one .
