I retained Kevin for a separation case, and am extremely glad that I did. His initial fact gathering session with me was extremely thorough, and enabled him to clearly define my options and possible outcomes. His communication with me throughout the process was unprecedented. He personally kept me up to date on developments and the path he saw as being best. His creativity in developing a final agreement within an extremely short window of time (3 weeks) helped alleviate a long, litigious process and allowed me to get back to my life post marriage. He is extremely knowledgeable of case law, and can "think on the fly" if necessary. In the end, he basically wrote the agreement to which opposing counsel willingly accepted. If you are seeking an intelligent, reputable attorney with excellent people skills, and one that will stay in constant communication with you and not treat you like a number, then you must retain Kevin.

I have been a client of Chamberlain Law Firm for over seven years! I first came to Margaret in the middle of a custody battle. Prior to meeting with her I tried to handle things on my own and landed myself in a very precarious position. I did not wish to fight with my ex, but simply do what was going to be best for the two young children. My ex had other plans. In hindsight I wish I would have met with her sooner. If you are considering whether you should or shouldn't get an attorney… You need to just come speak with Margaret. She is a wealth of knowledge! I won't bore you with the sob story that was my life. All I can say is Margaret took ALL my mess...and it WAS a mess! She explained very thoroughly what my expectation should be, what I should do, what I should be prepared for.
From the first time that I walked into Margaret Chamberlain's office and met Deanne and Kathy I felt cared for. 2016 was a very tough year for my family. My step daughters mother made some significant changes in her life that would have taken an A student out of an excellent school, 400 miles away from everything she knew and loved. Including friends and family, moving her the unknown with a new stepfather that was not out for her well being. We were terrified for what her future was to hold. We were scare, angry, very upset... anxious. Margaret and her staff felt like family, they understood how and why we felt what we felt. And we felt their concerns for our daughter as well. They understood this was our world right now and we just needed the safety of this child to be put first and foremost.
Deanne and Kathy were always sure to understand any concern when we contacted the office whether via email or phone so as to relay to Ms. Chamberlain in the best to their ability for her to get back to us with an answer promptly.
My step daughter had a change in custody to her father - temporary custody end of summer 2016. Father got sole custody mid summer 2017. Both very unusual results.

Dean is a fantastic attorney! My fiance was in a minor fender bender after a benefit and was intoxicated.

While all 14 places I called either requested a some form of consultation fee to even begin or did not have the knowledge, Paul called me back after hours to hear my story. He listened attentively and , while his practice background was different and was not totally familiar with the regulations, he promised me he will review the regulations and call me back. He got back to me in a very timely fashion and provided me optimal solution to move forward. Although my case did not have any substantial damages that could be a cut for the firm, he went above and beyond with minimal flat rate fee. I actually came on top, with better results than i expected so I am very satisfied and I think he is very deserving of the payment that I made; if not more.
He was very helpful in every sense, from beginning to end - I am not sure what else I can say about him but I just want to assure 5 star rating and you can not go wrong!

I'm originally from South Carolina, but I currently live in Georgia. I was in town for my 10 year class reunion and got pulled over for a .08 alcohol level. I called 5 different lawyers and they all quoted me $4000 to $5000 to take on my case. I received a letter from the Laubshire in mail, gave them a call and they jumped right on it. Alyssa is very responsive and kept me informed through the entire process. I also did not have to show up to court because i live out of state which was very convenient being that i have a busy schedule. After 6 long months of waiting, my case was dismissed for lace of evidence. I recommend you call this firm first!

John Holland was great from the beginning. With him being my 3rd lawyer on my case. Needless to say future lawyers, at the time of contact, weren't to interested in taking a case two other lawyers have been removed, fired, from. John listened to what I had to say and the problems I was having with previous lawyers. He was the only lawyer that "didn't" tell me, right from the start, "Oh, a father getting full custody of his young child is NOT likely to happen in the State of SC. " But of course they would do all they could and take my case. Leading absolutely no where. Then I met John Holland. I honestly don't believe he believed much of what I had to say. After all, I had already gone through 2 attorneys. He was straight up and let me know that if what I was telling him was on the up and up he would take the case. As time went by it was obvious that what I had been saying was true. John gave me the benefit of the doubt and worked extremely hard on my case. Never once mentioning in "SC Father's don't get custody". Well I'm hear to tell all the Father's out there, don't buy into the hype. Great lawyers can achieve great things. Took 6 years total. The last couple years with John fighting for me. As of July 29, 2022 I am happy to say I have full custody of my son. If your a Father that believes you should have custody of your children then fight for that. If you decide to fight, especially in SC, than you'll need a great attorney. John Holland is your man. If you don't give up than John won't either.

Mr. James Bannister and his father, Mr. Oscar Bannister are extraordinary people and attorneys! Words can never accurately express their greatness! My children and I went through a horrific ordeal when we were seperated unwarranted due to an assault on myself. Because I had pending charges due to the assault ( the father of my child claimed that I shot him without reason but it was proven that I had reason and the rights to stand my ground after he forced his way into my home) my children were temporarily placed in the custody of a relative! Mr. James Bannister made sure that they were not lost in the system! He and his dad Mr. Oscar Bannister collaborated and represented me in both my family and criminal case! I was ultimately found to have acted in self defense, all charges dropped and my children were back at home where they belonged! Before the charges were dropped the children were placed back in my home due to the Bannisters and their aggressive and thorough drive to have them back home to prevent any further distress! I remember telling Mr. Bannister that my children were afraid that I was going to jail and his exact words to me were " you tell them , NOT ON MY WATCH!" I thank GOD for the Bannisters! They are forever in my heart and my prayers along with their paralegals Cheree and Terri!!!

I was picked out of random for a DUI leaving a restaurant in Murrells Inlet. I did not know of any lawyers in the Myrtle Beach area and when I did internet search for lawyers in Myrtle Beach, I was very impressed with Mr. Monckton's background. My nephew became addicted to drugs 5 years ago. I brought him to Myrtle Beach in hopes of a new environment and to have the support of his family near him. In July 2016 drugs found their way back into his life and on August 14, 2016 he was arrested. I reached out to Billy Monckton, as I was unsure who I could turn to. He went and met with my nephew, listened to his side of the story and contacted me. He said he would represent my nephew. I knew at that moment my nephew was in good hands. After 7 months of my nephew behind bars Billy Monckton was able to secure Drug Court in lieu of the reduced sentence of 5 years in jail. My husband and I never had to hire a defense attorney for anything, therefore when we received a court document with a bogus BS claim we were referred to hire Attorney Mr. Thomas to defend us in this B.S. Litigation suit, Mr. Thomas was able to get it settled for the exact amount my husband originally agreed to with the other party and was honest with from the very beginning. We honestly believe our attorney Mr. Thomas could see the truth and followed it all the way through to the very end where it was settled out of court. Ms. Baldwin is an excellent attorney with a heart for every client and a desire to execute the law with complete dedication and desire to provide informed representation in all cases. Andrew was a huge help with my case, and a big relief on my stress level. Every interaction I had with him it was clear that he legitimately cared about helping me. He meticulously went through my paperwork, and he pushed my court date to a year later. That gave me time to get my drivers license issues resolved with the DMV. Before my court date, he negotiated a lesser degree of charge. This made my fine 1/3 of what it would have been and my license did not have to be suspended. In the last two years, I retained two lawyers in California for my divorce, one in South Carolina to purchase a home, and two in Florida when I was the guardian of my uncle due to his Alzheimer's disease. At the time, I was inclined to agree with the country song about not letting lawyers into heaven, but that was before I met Andrew Havran. Andrew came highly recommended from my accountant. He was local, accessible, and highly knowledgeable. Andrew spent two days with me working on my will and power of attorney. He made sure that my wishes were fulfilled while making sure my needs were met, and he did it for the fixed fee he had quoted me up front. While we were working on my will, a farmer in overalls came in to the office and thanked him profusely for saving the family farm. True story.Andrew is a family man who cares and always has time to take my calls without trying to nickel and dime me. I would recommend him to anyone in the Greenville-Spartanburg area, or anywhere in South Carolina, for that matter. I would suggest that he change his photo as it makes him look like a tough cookie.
