Michael Clark and Kristen were lifesavers after I was severely injured in a hit and run auto accident. Mr. Clark came highly recommended by more than one person who worked within the legal system and he did not disappoint. I was in a care center for seventy two days with a broken shoulder, ribs and two broken ankles. I wasn’t allowed to bear weight in order to start my rehab journey to walk again for the first 6 weeks. During this challenging time, I never worried about medical bills or dealing with auto insurance etc. Mr. Clark and his staff took care of all the negotiations with the insurance companies so I could focus on healing. I can't say enough good things about this team. We reached out to multiple Law offices after our auto accident and no one would help us till we contacted the team at Wattel & York. From the first call Mari Jo, Harley and Zach have taken care of every step. They've answered any questions or concerns we've had and worked with the insurance companies for us. I spoke with several lawyers before choosing Matthew. The others I spoke with told me I didn't have a case and even though I understood that and still wanted to move forward they didn't want to help me.
When I spoke with Matthew he listened to what I had to say and was willing to help me. He was very direct with me regarding my case which I appreciated. He quoted me a flat fee and was able to stick to the quoted cost. He represented me with my former employer and was able to negotiate a nice severance for me when others told me I had no chance.
He was timely in his communication and always kept me informed. I'd highly recommend him.

Derek is smart and aggressive. James is calculated and calm, which gives their firm an almost perfect balance. Danely is very polite and communicative. There wasn’t one time that I reached out and didn’t get a reply or an answer.
Derek is transparent and communicates efficiently. He really cares about his clients and who he represents. Although I didn’t get the exact results I wanted (based on a decision I made) I feel that we still got a pretty good offer from the prosecutor (charges will eventually be dismissed) and I’m very happy with their service.
The only negative thing I can share is that it took way too long to come to a conclusion IMO and communication with the court/prosecutor seemed very “wishy washy” at times, but thats typical when dealing with “the system”
If you need a criminal defense attorney in South King County or Pierce County I would highly recommend Smith and White! They are worth the investment!

Mr Jaeggii was assigned to my case just days before a court appearance after some issues came up with my previous attorney. The law and courts are very intimidating. Rob was not only excellent in the “lawyer” portion of his job, he treated us with dignity and respect. Erik is the Greatest! He was the third attorney I’ve had to turn to over the years and he was by far, the best lawyer in every aspect. My situation was difficult because I had moved from the area at the time and I was in a huge time crunch. Faith, in the office, went out of her way to make special arrangements to accommodate me, enabling us to meet. The entire episode was so stressful until talking with Erik, getting his perspective, and planning a course of action. He handled the situation quickly and could not have been more kind. I hired joesph in February for a speeding ticket and he said he will take care of it and keep me up to date. A month ago (July) I got a letter in the mail saying if I don't pay it, I will go on collections. So I got a hold of him and he said he will take care of it and call him in a few days to see what's going on. So I did and I couldn't get a hold of him so I figured he took care of it. A month later (august) I get a letter saying I'm going on collections because the fine is not payed off. And I can't get a hold of him. I walked into his office and the person at the front desk said that there has been multiple people that can't get a hold of him. Don't hire him and hire someone else. You'll never be able to get a hold of him!
