if you are looking for a lawyer that won't overcharge you and actually wants to help you I would honestly say to stop your search right away. Let me just tell you why.
My family and I struggled to find the right lawyer to represent me. I've been with dozens of different lawyers who claimed they were the "best" and when it came time to actually meeting them and discussing your plans. all they really wanted was to get paid and for you to go on your way, without them really wanting to help you. I started to loose hope because every lawyer I would meet with me would either treat me like trash or not take me seriously. When I met Mara everything changed. She actually knows how to manage her time. She will sit down with you and genuinely want to help you. She treated me and my family like normal human beings, not as just someone you can take advantage of with exaggerated prices. Not to mention the fact that whenever my trial came along she was always available to answer every single question I had, no question was too simple or small, and if she didn't know the answer she would figure it out. Plus she gets things done. She is tough.
So the bottom line is if you are looking for a lawyer that won't overcharge you and actually wants to help you. Give her a call.

Zena is an amazing person as well as lawyer. I was in a very bad situation, my ex had a horribly mean lawyer and Zena stood up to him and helped me win back my boys. My family member was accused of a crime near Lubbock Tx and incarcerated . He was beaten and sent to the hospital while in police custody. They had no proof and no witnesses whatsoever and he was humiliated just because he was illegal. Cynthia took our case and within a month all charges were dropped and deported. She's the best! I came across Lindsey's name when researching toll related legal situations. My toll fees had exceeded $9,000 and I was being hounded by an attorney's office who had acquired my debt. Stressed out and unable to afford a 9K bill I called Lindsey. Not only was Lindsey familiar with the toll fee/fine circumstances, but she was able to explain her plan of action easily and without further confusion. I was under a federal goverment investigation, which the result of a very complicated investigation with my former employer and Texas Department of Insurance. This went on for many years while being represented by attorney's that were provided by my former employer. I finally decided that things seem to worsen and I needed someone that would listen, hear me and would fight for my defense and not the company that I was employed by. I immediately retained Mr. Clark. I felt if I had any chance of being cleared of this investigation and getting my life back, I needed Mr. Clark to defend me. In mid of 2007, I was released from the goverment's investigation. All of the other parties involved were indicted and the company paid millions in fines that were a result of TDI,OCC,HUD,and OTS. Although the courts incompetency caused us to make four different trips Earl passionately stated my case each time until he wore them down and gained a dismissal of the charge against me. Some years ago I retained this incredible attorney after I was arrested and was looking at a possible life time in prison. I won't go into too much detail in order to preserve my anonymity. I asked around for the "heaviest" attorney in Houston at this time, including other attorneys I had used in the past, and unanimously everyone said to call Mr. Dick DeGuerin. In short, only because of his fearsome courtroom prowess and renowned reputation for wins did the DA and Judge agree to a plea bargain we were all extremely pleased with. I will not use names, but BOTH the DA and Judge had reps for being extremely heavy handed with their sentencing.
To the man that is more than an attorney, who's a legend and also a bit of magician, a thousand thanks for giving me a life to return to! I regret that I only happened upon this site today and wasn't able to publicize my appreciation long ago...

I have been fighting a DWI now since May 2014 I was working with a different attorney that didn't have my best at heart. I soon after realized he was just trying to get me to plea and that I was just another case to him my brother who has 3 dwis and got the last on dismissed reffered me over to Mr. Gilchrist I am so happy I made this decision because as of yesterday the jurors found me NOT GUILTY! When the officer got on the stand MR. Gilchrist caught the officer stating different stories while he was on the stand. The first thing Robin McCarty did was lay out my case, the possibilities - both good and bad - with straight forward, even if brutal, honesty. Many people have ended up with dire consequences because their case was sugar coated and made to look like no problem. Robin sits with you and tells you the truth.
Robin then carefully, patiently, guided me through the process for almost two years - the end result was a full dismissal of charges.
One unique thing about Robin, he was a former peace officer and previous prosecutor - so he understood both sides of the system. This was tremendously helpful.

Abel listened to my story carefully and analytically. As I was charged with Trespassing and being an immigrant, it was hard for me to solve the case without affecting my immigration status.
