I had at the VMRC on a matter of great importance to me. This was not a simple case so it turned into a 4 year journey. Over that entire time Jim was always smart, tenacious, experienced, a great listener, and (most importantly) caring. A lot of road blocks popped up over the life of my case. Jim figured out a way over, around or through each one. Jim's deep contacts at the agency, and the credibility he has built up over his many years representing clients before the VMRC, turned out to be a resource that was very helpful in getting my case resolved in highly favorable terms. After running into some legal trouble, I went searching for an attorney to represent me in court. I made a few calls around town but Mr. Pfeiffer was the only attorney to answer his phone on a Saturday afternoon, and he took my call while at a sporting event for his child - much respect earned for that.
Mr. Pfeiffer not only answered my call, he took the time to answer all of my questions up front and even offered advice on what I should do even if I didnt decide to hire him. He offered me a flat rate charge, which would never increase even if additional follow-on services were needed after my initial court appearance. He charged an extremely competitive and fair price for his services.
Throughout the process of working with him, he was very reassuring and had top-notch communication with me, always answering my calls and texts in a timely manner. Mr. Pfeiffer gave me a list of things to do, told me what proof to collect and what to bring to court.
On the date of my court appearance, Mr. Pfeiffer was able to get my case dismissed and I was in the court room for a matter of minutes. The entire process was quick and painless, I was shocked at how fast it was. I think I honestly asked him "That's it?" afterwards. Mr. Pfeiffer was also able to recommend me to a colleague for expungement processing at a discounted rate.
He made my entire experience with court easy and pain free, at a time when I felt scared and vulnerable. I can't recommend Stephen Pfeiffer highly enough and will definitely be using him in the future for any legal issues. You will not regret hiring him, he has definitely earned my five star review.

I was charged with aggressive/reckless driving intially. My charge was brought down to improper driving. Honestly, I was still a little upset in the end. But this is still much better than being charged with aggressive driving.

I hired Mr. Mitchell to assist with the very sad but necessary eviction of a family member from a townhouse. Mr. Mitchell was always prompt, courteous and professional in all our communication, which was made more challenging due to me living out of state. He informed me thoroughly of my legal rights and responsibilities and of legal actions to be taken in various circumstances. He coached me well in how to communicate with the family member tenant in order to comply with the law and get the best outcome. He took care of serving the tenant the written notice. And because of this, we a had the best outcome considering the very difficult and unfortunate circumstances. Should I need a lawyer in VA Beach again, I will definitely reach out to him.

I recently hired Mr. Louie to defend a charge of speeding at 80mph in a 55mph zone. As an out of state resident, I was surprised to learn that this is automatically considered reckless driving in Virginia, which itself is considered a misdemeanor in the state. Mr. Louie's counsel resulted in a proper outcome which was in line with our goal of avoiding a reckless driving charge.
Both Mr. Louie and his staff were professional and attentive throughout the process, and his experience is demonstrated by his knowledge and calming presence. It is obvious that Mr. Louie has a strong working relationship with many parties in the Virginia Beach area. I believe that this is an asset for an area with such a large out of state/military population and relatively harsh traffic laws. Overall great job!

I was pulled over for going 37 over the limit. I did not know how strict the laws in VA since I'm from NJ. I had called several lawyers who I just didn't trust or like. So I went with my gut and chose Peter Louie. My instinct was spot on. Peter is realistic, knowledgeable and most importantly honest. I was facing jail, license suspension, a misdemeanor and a $3500 fine. I walked away with a $400 dollar fine. Everything else was dropped, no jail . no 3500 dollar fine, no suspension and no misdemeanor.
Do as Peter says and all will be alright. I highly recommend Peter Louie and his firm.

Adam Carroll recently represented me on a probation violation in Chesapeake he was recommended to me by a lawyer that i usually use . This was my second violation in which I violated condition 1 and 8 . Condition 1 is the worst one to violate it means i brought back a charge. 7Mr Carroll researched my case meticulously and fought very hard for me on court. Long story short I ended up doing just 56 days in jail my guidelines on just the condition 8 were 6 to 12 months .... If any body knows Chesapeake the are very hard on violations!!!! I found Mr. Thoman online when dealing with my ex in VA who sought a DVPO against me. I am out of state, and had no local recommendations for lawyers. Scary situation, but I took a chance on Mr. Thoman, and I don't regret it. He was candid and honest from day 1. He nipped the nonsense right away - no DVPO. Unfortunately, almost as soon as he turned 18, our son made some poor choices & found himself in very, very serious trouble as an adult. With absolutely no idea of who to call, we blindly googled attorneys in our area & happened upon Brian Thoman. we read his bio & the reviews he had online. We were impressed that he had prior prosecutor work under his belt as the charges pending against our son were criminal. After calling a couple of other attorneys we knew from their t.v. ads, we felt Brian was definitely the best fit for our son’s situation. Brian not only had knowledge of the law, but compassion. He explained everything to us thoroughly & never gave us any false sense of hope. He was very clear about what we could expect, but he worked tirelessly until the very end to ensure a positive outcome for our family. Our son wisely followed Brian's advice to the "t" & the very serious felony charges were dropped. I have no doubt that if we hadn't hired Brian, our son would be sitting in jail right now—possibly for several years. Brian had a very good rapport with the prosecution attorneys & it was clear in viewing their interactions in court that they had respect for him & took him seriously. He also took the time to meet with the detective (usually a witness for the prosecution) on our son’s behalf & Brian was also able to secure a favorable review of our son from the detective to present to the prosecutor & Judge in our son’s defense. Mr. Brian Thoman is phenomenal! It took me some time to find time to write this review, but I was determined to find time. A few months ago, my husband was charged with a petty larceny from Walmart. This is something completely out of my husband's character, but without going into personal details, he was going through a very difficult time and Mr. Thoman helped us with this. We scheduled a visit with him and he was very down to earth , compassionate and understanding of the situation that had occured. He took his time and we felt rushed at no time. He recommended my husband to take a Theft Class and do some community service prior to court, which he did. He went out of his way to contact the security person at Walmart and work out a deal with him and we did not even have to appear before the judge. We will definately use Mr. Thoman again if we ever have an instance we need him for any legal issue. He is a perfect combination of what we wish we could find in any attorney, smart, savvy, well spoken, yet down to earth, compassionate and understanding. I was charged with a show cause for breaking a peace bond. I honestly had no idea what I had done to break the complainant's peace since I purposely had nothing to do with her and I had moved over 100 days after she made the complaint. Jason took my case and worked diligently to discover the reason. He found that the reason was unjustified. In court, Jason discredited the complainant and found that everything she said was untrue and the case was dismissed. Jason was very understanding of my mental state as I dealt with this trying time. He was compassionate and he and his team reassured me often that I had nothing to worry about. He definitely proved in court that justice and honesty always wins. Ms. Paulding was engaged as co-counsel for two felony charges, the most serious of which carried a very long prison sentence. Through her efforts the most serious charge was discontinued and the other charge resulted in probation.

Frugal Legal Services should be the staple for how all parents are represented in custody cases. Ms. Burroughs worked hard and diligently on my case and set realistic expectations. My case had a ton of unrelated issues to custody and Ms. Burroughs was completely understanding and worked through our nearly 9 month case. Ms. Burroughs is a magical and enlightening person who gets results. I went from having no contact with my children to now everything is 50/50 and I get to see my sons every other week and have the assurance that no one should be able to change that. The only shame here is that I can only give Ms. Burroughs and Frugal Legal Services 5 stars because it doesn’t let you show off the absolute brilliance of the firm or Ms. Burroughs. He is very personable and empathetic, yet outspoken and demanding when necessary which I appreciated. He was very thorough and informative when explaining courtroom procedures

Linda is helping us out with a child support enforcement issue. She put our minds at ease immediately. Her expertise on the subject was apparent as soon as she gathered all of the relevant data on our case. She even gave strategies for how to discuss these issues with our child when they come up. She also gave a list of psychologists that can help. This is such a sensitive subject and can be traumatic for the child. It was nice to have an expert lawyer who cared for the human beings involved in the case, not just the case itself.

I was looking for a lawyer who would offer a free consultation to help me determine if it was worthwhile for me to pursue spousal support. I had read favorable reviews on Linda Shin and scheduled an appointment. I was, admittedly, disappointed when I was scheduled to meet with her associate, Michael Finch. I should not have been. He listened intently and compassionately while taking notes throughout our consultation. After, he asked me to supply more documentation/information and allow him time to research. After multiple back and forth emails, he advised that there was likely little to be gained by pursuing this action. He spent far more time on this than I ever would have expected for a free consultation. I was tremendously impressed by his ethics and integrity and would not hesitate to return to this firm with any future needs.

Ms. Blessing was recommended by a friend. Upon speaking with her and a mediator, our divorce was settled with both parties happy, and processed within two weeks. She took extreme care to ensure that it did not become contentious, and was very thorough in her explanations of the processes. We walked away from it with minimal fallout and mostly amicable. Mr. Yates is a great lawyer. He knows the laws and my DUI case was dismissed. He was very compassionate with my situation. We used him 30 years ago on another matter and he was able to mediate and make both parties happy. His rates are reasonable and far less than others that quoted. Talk about professional. Mr Yates will tell you the ins and outs of your case. This was my first time dealing with Johnny Law so by nature I was nervous. They always say go with your first instinct and that's what I did. So I called Mr Yates and the receptionist was as calm as possible and very embarrassing. She told me with confidence "Mr Yates is the man for you and he'll take care of you" from there I set up a meeting. I can admit I was nervous speaking with him but he reassured me that "I'll do what's best for you" he was straight forward but tactful in his delivery, but I knew he was the man for my case. On the day of the trail he smiled and told me worse case scenario. But as they say in wrestling "for every move there is a counter and for every counter there's a move." When I say he was well prepared that's an understatement. We walk into the court room and less than 10 minutes dismissed! He's well worth every penny.
