My son attacked myself and his siblings repeatedly. The last time he accused us of abusing him. DFCS got involved and it did not look good for us. We hired Alton Johnson as our attorney to help us fight these false allegations against us. DFCS was wanting to as the old saying goes “Throw the book at us”. We were looking at child abuse registry and all my children being taken away. All the allegations were FALSE. Mr. Johnson went to work for us and was able to clear our good names. My other children were not taken from us and we never even had to go to court. DFCS closed the case and no charges or anything else were brought against us. Thank you Mr. Johnson

I hired attorney Candice Davis and it was the best thing I could have done . She actually listens when I speak about any concern or question I have . I always get a response when I reach out . Marc did a fantastic job representing me in a difficult continued Child Support case for me. There was a lot of back and forth and Marc had to put substantial time into learning about unique aspects of my case that involved developing an understanding of the laws in three states. His guidance led to a fair resolution for all parties involved and we came out of the over a year long process with the best spirit of cooperation between me and my son's mother since we divorced in 2013. I can’t say enough good things about Ms. Williams and her amazing team of women. I had a scary ex who had walked all over me in the state we lived before and my previous lawyers did not have my back and had written up horrible orders that gave my ex the ability to mess with my daughters life to try and hurt me. Ms. Williams nipped that right in the butt and got us new orders written up that protected me and my daughter. On top of that she was able to finally put him in his place and get us tie breaker. Something we have never been able to have in my daughter’s entire life. My previous lawyer I had to baby sit and I had to fight for my daughter in court while this lawyer stood by and watched my cry. my experience with Ms. Williams was the complete opposite. She had my back the entire time and I am eternally grateful and will contact her if we ever need her again.

I have had not so great experiences in the past with attorneys in my divorce/custody case. Kimi was as breath of fresh air. She was very communicative and answered all of my questions. This is seemingly so simple but apparently other attorneys have issues with this. We were able to get everything signed and in motion extremely quickly. I highly recommend Kimi and will use her again should I need anything else with family law.

Not sure where to begin, Take the profession out of it for a moment and what I found about "The Guy " Jordan Van Matre is simply defined but almost non existent and rarely found, He's simply a man of integrity, someone you can trust and believe in, To me he became a friend and not just my attorney. After telling him about the initial reason I came in, a car accident I explained a situation about my dad passing and my half brother the executor pretty much ignoring me in what should of been done, I was homeless at the time and down for a while, Jordan later got the 35,000 and the car my Dad left for me, looked at me and said I'm not taking anything from that you need it way more than me. I gave my 5 kids $5000 apiece it's not much but at 18 they will receive it and it will be available to get there life started as adults with a car or whatever is needed. Ms. Williams and her team are absolutely exceptional! I needed her expertise due to my failure to disclose a juvenile matter. A matter in which I was told I didn’t need to from the counsel of a previous lawyer who worked that case many years ago. Ms. Williams understands the board on a level that many others do not. After my initial consultation, she went straight to work to construct an outstanding letter of explanation. The letter itself was thorough, thoughtful, and allowed me to finally be heard and be seen in a manner that not only granted me my ATT and license, but also a tool to help heal my wounds from the trauma that had occurred during that juvenile matter. Having to go thought a divorce is horrible, having to find someone who can represent you is another difficult task. Before I came to this office I went though a few lawyers and they all seemed interested in one thing, money. They all dismissed what was more important to me, my daughter. I thought I was never going to find someone who understood what I needed. Until someone guided me to Jim’s office. At first I was a bit worried because I thought this might be the same thing. To my surprise this was a very different world. I felt heard, I felt like they understood what was important for me. Most of all the one person who helped me throughout this whole situation was Lora. I couldn’t have gone through all of this with out her help. She sincerely opened her heart and shared her help in way I couldn’t began to describe. I know that lawyers are always busy, but when they have someone like Lora, who reminds them of certain situations and someone who cares a lot about what you are going through and does her best to make sure you understand everything that is happening even if it means after hours or on the weekend. I can’t fully express my gratitude to her, if it wasn’t for her help and guidance I don’t know how things could have ended. Thankfully my situation concluded and I was okay thanks to this team. This team is full of good people with good morals & will fight & represent your family well. They are honest, very detailed oriented, aggressive when needed, knowledgeable, will fight for what is morally right & work with you through your financial situation (& they’re very persistent). I’m Kai... This Review is about Michael Schlifka and Lisa Jackson, both who ended up being heaven sent angels in my life! Michael and Lisa are two of the most supportive, heart felt, hard working, determined, people I’ve ever met.. Im blessed Michael was my divorce attorney, and that Lisa was the paralegal over my divorce case.. They were an AWESOME team over my case, my divorce was everything BUT pretty. My ex wife and I have 2 kids together, my ex demanded the divorce but was being very difficult with the kids. It had even got to the point where I was set up by my ex, and my character was assassinated by my ex. To try to obtain full custody of the kids.
Through it ALL Michael stayed by my side, and fought for me and my kids diligently and affectively. Michaels sense of compassion but ability to be firm when need be is on point! Michael really knows his stuff, and fought for me tooth and nail! He did not give up on me or my case, he showed up to every court date, every hearing, and fought so hard for me. Michael was kind and compassionate about my terrible situation. My divorce was very unpleasant. He worked with me (and my ex-husband) to get to a very specific parenting plan and next 8 or 9 years plan. We agreed to co-parent 50/50 and maintain the "homestead" 50/50 until the last child graduates but MAN it was hard to get to that point. All the anger - he worked with me and often times I took out my anger on he and his team of paralegals (who were all wonderful!). He never had any anger back, mostly just some humor. He understood me. He took time to understand the unreasonable situation I was in and worked hard to get a great settlement. We didn't even have to go to court! Thanks so much Michael Schlifka!

My day in court with Mr. Leslie exceeded my every expectations. After a long 3 year battle of my on going case and different failed attorneys who couldn't seem to resolve the matter, Mr. Leslie stepped into the court room like a shark in the water. I hired Johnny Ramirez Castaneda to handle the eviction of a non-paying tenant who had become a nuisance to other tenants and neighbors. Despite the tenant failing to appear in court, Johnny Ramirez Castaneda failed to follow up with the marshals after receiving payment from me. For nearly two months, I repeatedly tried to contact him, but my calls and messages were ignored.
When I finally reached him, he claimed that I hadn’t paid for follow-up services—a charge that was never communicated to me. To resolve the issue, I had to contact the marshal's office myself, only to learn that the paperwork had been sitting on their desk for two months due to Johnny Ramirez Castaneda’s inaction. Once I took over, the issue was resolved within two weeks.
Johnny Ramirez Castaneda demonstrated a lack of professionalism and disregard for clients. I would not recommend his services to anyone seeking legal help.

I had a paid consultation which was very disappointing. I have no issue with the attorney saying I don't have a claim as that's his job. Where I take issue is being asked for supporting documentation and none of it being reviewed ahead of the call. I was then rushed through a complicated situation that displays long-term harassment and told there was nothing that could be done. I felt like I paid $415 and put together hours of documentation for nothing. It was disheartening to say the least.

Retained this law firm for a custody issue and initially I thought that I had found "the firm/lawyer". From the intake to the first few conversations I felt that I had not only found a firm that I could trust but someone that understood but little did I know I was making a horrendous financial decision. While I was told from the beginning that my case would take some time the issue did not lie there it was specifically the spending of $21k+ and never stepped foot in a courtroom, nor have any mediation, and simply my situation remains the same . When I would ask questions I was made to feel as if I should not be asking them being that I was told certain things could/could not occur as it related to my case from the beginning. My point to the firm and lawyer(s) is the money that I am spending, and the case is/or was not moving was beyond frustrating. To add wit, when I asked for an agreement to just be typed vice being represented, I was given a quote of $2500 to draft a custody agreement outside of the monies that I had already spent with this firm. Needless, to say I requested that they remove themselves from the case and guess what? Invoices continued to roll in, in which I paid. I received a closure letter from this firm on 07/21/2024 and received an invoice today 07/24/2024 smh. While I cannot take away how they may have helped others that simply did not occur with me. My dealings with this firm has left a bad taste in my mouth as it pertains to lawyers and will most certainly make me think three times about hiring any other lawyer. I cannot and would not recommend this firm to anyone based off what I experienced.

Again understanding that I resided 3+ hours away from the other party was told from the jump while respecting the client attorney privilege I'm not going to go in great detail however, this review was to give my experience and leave a review based off such. As stated you all may have helped others however, my experience was not such. To respond as if it was my fault that I spent the whooping amount with this firm affirms why I feel the way I do. I hope that this review allows others to weigh their options thoroughly and consider all reviews whether positive or negative when choosing legal representation

Worst Attorney
Please do not hire Attorney Dixon to represent you for Family practice or a Divorce case! I paid her the retainer fee to represent my Son and is very disappointed with her rendered services.
The opposing Attorney filed several motions and she never filed a motion on his behalf. It almost appeared that she is was working with the opposing counsel against him.
Ms. Dixon only have 3 years of experience and it showed when she asked my Son to hire another Attorney to assist her.
Horrible communication skills- Who calls a client at
6:00 a.m. to debrief the day of a trial and shows up 30 minutes late to court?
He has been fighting to receive his funds from an escrow account and reduction in child support with no assistance or responses from her! She showed no concern or compassion but still received money for providing poor service. He lost his livelihood and everything that he owned with no fight or help from her.

Bill is an incredibly effective, level-headed and thoughtful attorney. Not only did he provide a high level of expertise and guidance throughout the divorce process, he was able to advise on what areas were worth pursuing and fighting and what was not, so that I did not incur unnecessary billable hours. I was also pleased that he was always quick to respond, available for calls, and moved the case along quickly. He remained engaged and up-to-date on the status of my case, and never once passed me along to other attorneys in the firm. During the settlement process, he firmly pushed back on the other party when necessary, and guided us to an acceptable outcome. I am grateful I hired Bill to represent me in my divorce.
