There really is no words to explain what an exceptional lawyer Dan is. Little history on my story/experience with Dan; I was dealing with a case with a different lawyer that did an awful job. I then came into probation violation and it was a very complicated case where I had technically 4 violations. A warrant was set out for me. I was allowed to move to another state for school and the court was going to take me back to Illinois. It seemed truly like a case that NO WAY I could win. But then Dan did his thing. Dan not only was able to SQUASH my no bond warrant, he was able to let me stay in the state I reside in currently AND got me off of probation and under supervision instead! I have no clue how he was able to do so much but he made it work. And having dealt with a bad lawyer I really know the difference between a good and bad one. When we deal with court it’s scary. You want a lawyer that will respond fast, give their all to defend you and try to get the best outcome possible, and one that gives you RESPECT. Dan did all of these things and I can’t thank him enough. If I had to return to Illinois I would have lost my school, apartment, job and I would most likely have been living out of a car and really losing all the goods I have in my life out here in the state I reside in. If you are in need of a good lawyer, trust me, if Dan could do this much for my case, he is definitely the lawyer you want by your side and will give you his all to help you. I highly recommend Dan. He recently helped me with two separate matters and we had a successful outcome on both. Dan and Steve (his law partner) worked together and did a great job at keeping me informed throughout the process. The prices were very reasonable. "Dan is the BEST of the BEST". He got us the BEST POSSIBLE Outcome. Working with Dan was awesome. Without going into specifics, I would like to say just one sentence. "Dan is the BEST of the BEST". Do not take my word on this internet, just go and meet him once and you will see for yourself. Dan knows everyone in the system. He is very easy to talk to. I have interviewed a dozen attorneys before meeting Dan. Immediately decided to go with Dan. Steve is super awesome. During the initial parts, Steve took care of me (when Dan had to attend other things). I cant write my specific topic and details due to privacy concerns but I just want to describe how I found Dan. I read all the reviews on internet and decided to go meet in person. Jennifer answered my call and setup a quick appointment with Dan for same day; arrived on time and met both Dan & Steve. Steve was supposed to head out to something but it was very nice of him to stay back till I had presented my details. Just go & meet them, if you need to hire an attorney!!!! You will thank yourselves. It is really unfortunate for anyone to be searching for an attorney and there are many many attorneys that want to prey on the weaknesses and take advantage of the situation. Someone I know got pulled over and received a citation for driving uninsured and failing to obey a stop sign. In the state of Illinois the penalty for driving without insurance can result in having your license suspended and up to a $2,000 fine for time time offenders. They ended up walking out of the court room with a small fine and keeping their drivers license. Philip's rates are very reasonable. When hiring a traffic attorney, you're decision should not strictly be focused on the cost of the attorney. You have to evaluate their rate based on the potential worst case scenario for your court case. When evaluating an attorney based on the outcome, Phil is worthy every penny. If anyone I know told me that they have an upcoming a traffic case at the Wheaton Court house, I would highly recommend Philip Nathe.

Divorce case with abuse and child endangerment concerns. I hired one attorney just before Covid, she quit. I had to them hire another, and chose one based on general local recommendations - but she allowed my abusive ex’s attorney to drag the case in for 2 years, and HUGE bills. She would forget conversations, and forget to file things. I couldn’t officially switch attorneys again mid-case, so I paid for a very affordable consult with Ruth twice. I got more information and help from her in those brief consults than I did in 2 years with my regular attorney. Knowing what I know now- I will only ever recommend Ruth!

My husband had previously used Mr. Skinner for a DUI case so I was already aware of his ability. I came to him for a child support issue and once again he proved to be the best lawyer for the job. He was able to get me back child support and also got the court to enforce some other provisions on my ex. I had used another lawyer in the past, but it didn't end well. Mr. Skinner was able to do more in 3 months than my previous lawyer did in almost a year. I would definitely recommend him!

I made the terrible mistake of driving while drunk (which led to a car accident), and I found myself with a DUI, a suspended license and several other legal problems. After getting recommendations from different people for various lawyers, I decided to go with Mr. Skinner. He was EXTREMELY knowledgable with my type of case and not only agreed to help me, but also worked with me on establishing an affordable payment plan for his services. Mr. Skinner was able to work out a great plea deal for me which I thought wasn't possible. He even made sure to clearly explain things to me throughout the entire process. I will admit that this review is well delayed. here it is... you know when someone says " i gotta a guy" .... well anyone who ever needs an ATTORNEY... can say just that and THAT GUY IS Bruce DS.... he has the experience and knows the right people. I first met Bruce in a lobby after hearing other cases for felony speeding.... my case came up and I wasn't prepared. fate would have it that I stepped out to the lobby to look for an attorney on the drop of a dime and there was BDS.... My divorce was harrowing, and Jordan Young kept me afloat. I was part of a very nasty divorce, and really thought I was going to lose time with my daughters, but Jordan stepped up and helped me not only survive, but eventually win more time with the kids. She was able to understand the emotional complexities of divorce, but also didn't mince words about what would or wouldn't hold water in court. It was honestly a fantastic balance of accurate legal consultation and emotional support, which as I understand it with many attorneys is a rare combination. She also didn't stand for any of the nonsense my ex tried to pull, and was the first to speak up when something was trending in an unreasonable direction. I had a less-than-useless attorney prior, and got metaphorically disemboweled by the enormous bills, especially since no progress was made. I hired Jordan, and because her billing is always fair and justified, I was able to financially weather the storm as well. I NEVER got a bill that didn't make sense. You truly couldn't ask for a more capable or helpful attorney to see you through the often ugly divorce process.

I cannot recommend Mr. Delaney highly enough to anyone who needs quality legal representation. I feel I know Mr. Delaney very well professionally as he represented me for several years in highly contentious litigation. I will be forever grateful for his services to my family and I. Certainly my life today would not be the same had I not been referred to him. Mr. Delaney is extremely proficient, professional, responsive, and highly knowledgeable of not only the law, but also of the other attorneys and judges involved, their personalities and tendencies, which allows him to present options to his clients when discussing their cases. Mr. Delaney is an adept multi-tasker/prioritizer, probably the best I have ever known. If something is important or very time sensitive, he WILL get it done. He never acts without a client's permission, makes himself available to clients, returns phone calls, and NEVER misses a deadline or court appearance. I cannot emphasize this last point strongly enough. Many, many times I was stressed about making a deadline and he always came through, even when I didn't think progress was being made or the deadline would be met. Also, Mr. Delaney will never miss a court appearance. Countless times I witnessed opposing attorneys either not appear in court for their clients, or be significantly late, causing the judge to move on to the next case. Can you imagine how you would feel if the judge were to call your case, your attorney is not there, the judge tells you to come forward, and asks how you would like to proceed? You won't have to know that feeling if Mr. Delaney is representing you, rest assured! Mr. Delaney's fees are going market rates for experienced attorneys, which I feel are fair. While market rates may be difficult for some to afford, particularly during turbulent times (believe me, I understand), never was the statement "you get what you pay for" more true than with Mr. Delaney. He takes steps to be efficient and has other staff handle routine tasks to minimize costs and maximize your resources.

Unfortunately when you are in a position to have to hire a lawyer it isn't a good thing. After meeting with James "Rhino" Doerr it was apparent that he walked softly but his knowledge & demeanor was powerful. After a reference from a local PD social worker, I was sent to Figiel Law after a horrible experience in court with my initial retained counsel in my contested divorce. My email must have validated my anxiety and fear from the events that unfolded in the weeks prior with the previous divorce attorney as Lucas called me first thing next morning, 6:30am to try and put me at ease and determine if Figiel Law could provide support. You messed up but relief is nearby. You want an expert who will also listen to you, explain the situation and your options and put you in the best situation for a positive outcome. Martin is your guy. After you hire him when you are going through waves of freaking out you can come to Avvo and re-read the 100+ positive comments (I've read them all for comfort 8 times by now) and know you've done all you can to help your situation. I put myself in a tough situation. I went out for a few drinks, nothing egregious but when I was leaving a parking lot I goosed it around a corner and squeeled my tires. I was pulled over and declined to talk the the officers about where I was that evening or participate in any sobriety tests. The prosecutors for DUI trials in Lake county are farmed out to a private firm and the state's firm sent their #1 top guy. Martin got us a Not Guilty on DUI and Reckless driving, and a modest fine and court supervision for squealing tires. Martin went head-to-head with the state's top dui prosecutor and left him noticeably pissed while we walked out with a huge W. You'll be comforted by his understanding of Lake county courts and procedures. He will listen to you. We worked together to craft a defense and no point anything that I thought important was left unconsidered. Even though my case hit a complication and dragged on a bit his flat rate fees were clear fair. Quite honestly they were about 75% of what I expected and was willing to pay for a proven winner. He's super busy but will always make time for you. Most importantly, he's a genuinely good guy. There's a reason for Martin's top rating. Do yourself a favor and pick the best. Get the free consult and make your own choice. It's hard to put a price in peace of mind. If you've read this, you've been informed. Unless you have another proven rockstar at your disposal to consider I strongly advise you to go with Martin.

Dagny was a pleasure to work with. My divorce wasn't overly complicated, however, my now ex wife was attempting to take the house I purchased for our family with inheritance money following the death of my mother. Dagny understood that my home carried a lot of sentimental value to me and understood the mission to separate my ex from it as much as possible. Thanks to my protective record keeping and Dagny's attention to the details, she was able secure the house for me and keep that buy out for my ex to less than half of what she wanted. Dagny was responsive and when discussions were more complicated than what could be said in an email, she made a time to call me and was always prompt on those times. I was in a very unique situation and had my driver's license suspended for a whole year due to a misunderstanding where a police officer thought I had a fake ID. I was told by countless other lawyers in the area that deal with license suspensions that they have never heard of such a situation, that I had no case and that I would be wasting my money trying to fight the (in my opinion) wrongful suspension. Todd took on my case with optimism and no judgement. He was very professional and a pleasure to work with. He helped me through the process of a formal hearing at the Secretary of State's office. Best case scenario, we were hoping for my year long suspension for a fake ID to be changed to a 3 month suspension for underage drinking. I ended up getting my license back and not having to serve a 3 month suspension either. My expectations were absolutely exceeded and I highly recommend Todd as a legal representative.
