We couldn't be more pleased with the service that Ms. Layne provided to our family. She asked great questions, was respectful, patient and understanding as we discussed issues with each other and made decisions and provided excellent and diplomatic advice when requested.
When she delivered the completed plan to us, she had witnesses available to sign and notarize our documents while we waited and patiently reviewed each page with us to our satisfaction. We had very few changes to make but she made them immediately so we could continue the finalization process.
It is such a relief to have our plan completed. It feels good to know that you've done all you can do to make the administration of your estate and providing of your family and pets as easy as you can.
I cannot recommend Ms. Layne's services highly enough.

In 2018, the lives of my wife and I, and our son-in-law, were completely upended by the death of our youngest daughter, who was a very special bright spot in our family. After being married only six months, she died in Austin from injuries suffered in an avoidable accident. My wife and I hoped to avoid any other family losing a loved one in the same fashion. As a dad, I had to understand what happened to my daughter. I spent months investigating the facts of the accident and speaking to at least a dozen law firms. Eventually, I spoke with Joel Levine, Dave Wenholz and Daniel Smith. They were very willing to represent us although our case had difficulties, when no other firm would represent us. We benefitted from very effective and excellent representation of Dave Wenholz and Daniel Smith which resulted in a settlement of our case right before trial. My wife and I can't begin to say how much we appreciated that our attorneys believed in our case despite its challenges, and were zealous advocates for our daughter. We cannot recommend Joel, Dave and Daniel highly enough.

I was referred to Joel Levine by Kansas attorney I clearly called them for call backs , I recieved a call that I missed I returned the call to reached out . Never called me back took them 3 weeks to call me back I told the lady it’s been a non injury case it should be on the notes and all the waiting for her to tell me they do not handle non injury case . I suggest better communication by this company. Honestly waisted my time , did not take consideration I understand theirs a line but for 3 weeks is rediculous are you calling one person per day ? . The referral lady by my job takes up a week and does not take this long to get in contact with her customers.
I suggest the front lady that answered the phone to know what type of cases you guys allow and don’t to avoid time waisted personally for the customer and the sake of the co worker .

I met Mr.bernard when he was my court appointed lawyer. I was facing 3 felony possession charges and a massive drug addiction. I listened to his plan and he was able to get the courts to give me deferred adjudication. Mr.Bernard never treated me like I wasn't paying for his representation. Within 5 years I landed in court 2 more times again facing felony possession in different counties. He not only traveled over an hour away but also got me deferred adjudication again. I did hire Mr.Bernard for the last two cases and he was amazing. Mr.Bernard helped me stay out of prison and to stay sober. I have changed my life around a 100% and I am doing great now. I have unfortunately been able to deal with alot of different lawyers over my years .Now I have used Mr.Bernard 3 times myself over the last 5 years .Also he just 6 months ago bonded my Youngest child out of jail for 300$ and in one week he had the case thrown out ..My best Potna is also using him now also.I liked that Brian was upfront about the money and the situation. He kept me out of prison my last 2 mishaps and when I first hired Mr.B I had been to prison multiple times but Thanks to Mr.Bernard and his Wife yes it's a two Lawyer Family correcting Lawyer &Judge Family ..Salute ...But yes a few times His Wife would standin.I had to post something this is a Good Lawyer and seems to be a Good Man .I would see him also out of town his son and mine where both playing AL ..And I know people may say he is not a good Lawyer those people I promise u did not pay they bill That's plain and simple. I'm going to be honest .Trust me anybody who wants a good Lawyer and willing to pay to avoid being locked up Call Him and honor your payment plan show up for court and watch your case disappear. And if you pay him everything and enough money you want even have to wake up and go to court He'll take care of that as well but it cost

He thinks a brain injured person doesnt deserve from him any manners, zero respect, they deserve to be treated like they are always acting badly to justify him doing things such as doing absolutely nothing for me for months on end followed by him launching into verbal assault mode against me simply because to him, a brain injured person doesnt deserve the time of day, or to be cared about in any way at all. He literally claimed me asking for mutual respect and offering to apologize for any bad behavior on my end as long as he returned it to me for his own misdoings as being “verbal harassment”.

This law firm knows all of the Texas debt laws inside and out. They know how things are going to go and what the tactics normally are. They know the usual players. I called to schedule a free consultation for a probate matter. Mr. Greening advertises FREE CONSULTATION on Avvo and on his own website. NOT TRUE! I made the appointment, and spent 15 minutes or so on the phone with his assistant explaining my needs so that Mr. Greening could be briefed prior to our consultation. Then several days later I got a call back from another person in Mr. Greening's office to inform me that the so called "free" consultation requires a $4,000 retainer fee up front. So, it's only "free" if you agree to retain Mr. Greening in advance of the very first meeting you have with him! Isn't that pretty much the opposite of a "free consultation"??? Losing a family member without a will is difficult enough, but being forced to deal with attorneys like Mr. Greening just adds to the misery. Hopefully I will be able to find another probate attorney who will sit down with me for 15 minutes free of charge and hear my story without asking me to shell out $4,000 just for the privilege of speaking with him/her. Hard to believe Mr. Greening has such high reviews from other people. Surely this same thing has happened over and over again to other people like me who foolishly believed the advertising that he offers a free consultation.

Okay folks. After being audited by the Texas Comptroller and them creating a tax bill of $175,000, I hired Curtis Osterlo to defend me. Long story short, I recorded all of the conversations between Mr. Osterlo and myself. In the beginning, he mentioned the names of people at the Comptroller NOT to talk to. Two months later, while racking up legal fees, he suggested he would circle back around and speak to Jane Doe (one of the people NOT to talk to). That is when I fired him. In my opinion, this law firm is in bed with the Comptroller to generate legal fees. After firing Curtis, I handled my case myself. The comptroller didn't know what to do now? Their boy wonder was out. I proved to the Comptroller I didn't owe the money by emailing a copy of the Federal and State laws. I ended up winning without Curtis. He wanted me to settle and charge me $35,000 for his time. I will never do business in the state of Texas again!

In 2012 my husband and I contacted Tracy to help us prepare a living will and overall estate plan. I will say that she was very professional and courteous, and her prices were quite fair.
My husband has been in oil and gas his whole life and we were specifically concerned about putting money away so that I would be okay and our disabled oldest daughter would be okay.
In general she did a good job and was easy to work with.
My husband passed in early 2021 and my son worked with Tracy to probate the estate. When we involved our tax specialist there was a 7 figure tax bill that was completely unexpected!
It felt like she didn't do her homework or involve the right tax specialist. We've been blessed to have more than we need but I am upset that she didn't do this properly when my husband was around to help.

My mother used this attorney for a family matter not only did he fail to properly represent her, he made several seedy attempts to be inappropriate. When my mother denied his advances her became careless working on her case. She lost her home and thousands of dollars as a result. Don’t trust him.
