This firm was excellent to work with on my son's criminal mischief case. They are all extremely thorough and provided the persistence necessary to overcome the many challenges and inconsistencies within the juvenile court system. Through no fault of the firm, it took nearly 9 months to get his case resolved and they stay close and communicative with me every step of the way. Jeremy was able to get us the exact outcome we'd hoped for. And, Kassidy was wonderful in helping to facilitate ongoing communication, requesting and delivering pertinent documents and keeping me abreast of all goings-on during the process. I read the reviews here before I booked a consultation with Kimbrough Legal.
My consultation was great. My attorney seemed very compassionate and told me that they’d be able to get the results needed quickly.
The first red flag should have been that they didn’t understand what type of case I was hiring them for. My matter is complicated because the opposing counsel is a very special brand of wicked, but when boiled down to drown out the smoke and mirrors, it really isn’t that complicated.
The second red flag should have been that they failed to appear at a hearing I notified them about, that ended up costing me an “inconvenience payment” to the opposing counsel for my attorney not showing up. Then my attorney telling me to just not pay it and then later “it’s not a big deal”.
The third red flag should have been that they estimated my matter was going to cost an extra 40k on top of the 15k I’d already paid..
We mediated in a single session, 1 week later.
But the best part is that since the mediation, I’ve been charged over FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for mostly for “emails” to opposing counsel.
Did they draft documents that were assigned as a result of the mediation? No.
Not until I threatened to fire the team. And then magically work appeared. But not after saying that it would be more expensive for me, to make them file a motion to withdraw.. ok.
I’ve been backed into a corner of “we’re almost finished” for EIGHT MONTHS post mediation. No final orders entered. Nothing. My ex-husband and his attorney have been putting me through the wringer because I have no court order for the mediated terms, and Kimbrough Legal says they can’t do anything about it.
Well, I finally got fed up and hired a new attorney. She managed to not only get in touch with the opposing counsel, but now has to FIX ALL THE WORK that I’ve already paid for because it’s wrong.
This firm has literally wasted tens of thousands of dollars that I don’t have, with ZERO result, outside of a successful mediation, which was through a third party, and paid for separately.
BEWARE. DO NOT believe the reviews and do not believe them when they say that your matter will be resolved quickly.
They’ll bleed you dry and leave you hanging.
*edit to add* I was called by Tycha personally and threatened for leaving this honest review.
I was told to remove it with 24 hours or face action for liable, slander, & defamation.
I don’t appreciate being threatened, and now I understand why there aren’t more less-than-five-star reviews.

I needed a criminal attorney in Austin Texas that would handle a legal matter in a specific way for me so as to get my Austin, Travis County misdemeanor charge dismissed before I was arrested on the charge and was needing to post bond.
Joseph contacted the DA and arranged for a dismissal of my charge before I was ever arrested or had to go to court.
Before I found Joseph I interviewed a handful of high priced, high rated criminal lawyers in Austin, including a referral from another super lawyer in Dallas County that has handled matters for me. These other Austin lawyers I talked to seemed inflexible and wanted me to go through the entire legal process of turning myself in for the warrant, bonding out, and going to court. A bunch of time and unnecessary bullshit that I knew could be avoided with the right legal approach and the right lawyer to pull it off.
Joseph was the 5 Star Austin attorney that I was looking for and he cost me a third of what the other attorneys in Austin were charging. I am so grateful and appreciative I randomly stumbled across a review from another previous legal client that indicated Joseph was the legal representation that I needed.
I've been around the Texas legal system and I can tell you this is the lawyer you want on your side if dealing with a misdemeanor or even felony charge in Travis County or Georgetown. Seems like a good genuine guy as well. If I ever have another legal matter near Austin 🤞 I need help with i will be reaching out to Joseph.

Travis Granger
If you want someone to truly represent you and fight for you, DON’T CHOOSE TRAVIS. Travis is a nice man and does a fine job fighting for you as long as there is no opposition. My ex-wife completely dominated the court process, using her knowledge of the judicial system, and how to manipulate it for her benefit and invoked delay after delay. Travis did nothing to counter. Proceeding started in Nov-2022, with a divorce decree granted to me by Judge Joe Pool on January 8, 2024. However, my ex-wife’s attorney filed for a new trial in March-2024. Travis was totally unprepared. I believed he thought that my ex-wife would be a no-show, just like on January 8th, when she was a no-show. When she showed up with her attorney, he was caught flat footed and failed to present my case properly to the judge, and the Judge Pool granted a new trial.
New mediation was set for June 17, 2024. The first thing Travis told me at mediation was that I may need to get a new attorney because his firm, Brandon Bledsoe, was being bought by another firm, Smith Family Law, and they would not be dealing with Hayes County. It went downhill from there. Travis had no motivation or desire to really represent me or fight for me, and in my opinion, he threw me under the bus just to get rid of me and be done with it. I was an embarrassment to him after he failed to present my case properly to Judge Pool, and the judge granted a new trial to my ex-wife.
There was no middle ground in the mediation and I kept telling Travis to just set a trial date. They did not listen to me and continued for another eight hours. After eight hours, even though I kept telling him to just set a trial date, I was tired and wore down, and they told me to just sign this agreement and then I would never have to deal with her again. It was a bad, bad settlement, completely lopsided and unfair, but Travis wanted to wash his hands and be done with me. He didn’t care as long as I was gone.
If you are looking for an attorney who truly cares about your case and is truly willing to fight for you, I would NOT RECOMMEND TRAVIS GRANGER, even though he is now at his new law firm, Smith Family Law.

I was charged with an assault family member case last year and initially hired an attorney to represent me. However, I felt misrepresented due to poor communication and things not moving forward—I had no idea what was going on with my case.
That completely changed when I decided to work with Mr. Kevin Bennett. From day one, he provided me with far more information and updates about my case, including the police report, 911 call, and prosecutor’s notes—things my previous attorney never shared with me. What I appreciated most about working with Mr. Bennett was that he personally handled my case and kept me informed every step of the way.
Thanks to his dedication and expertise, my case was dismissed. I sincerely hope to never find myself in a similar situation again, but if I or any of my friends or family ever need a great attorney, without a doubt, I will call Mr. Bennett.

I felt that Lisa always was there for me and she was calm and in control which helped me a lot. She was also very experienced working with lawyers on the other side and different mediators too and that gave me confidence also. There was plenty of drama and twists and turns and Lisa kept us in control and moving forward. She also understood my priorities (kids) and focus and never lost sight of that. Lisa had strong co-workers too which made me feel like we were a team. In the end she was able to make sure the settlement was relatively fair and reasonable and she was able to get it done as efficiently as could be hoped for. On January 27, 2023, I was involved in a car accident with a semi-trailer truck on IH-35 Northbound between Austin and Pflugerville. I sustained multiple injuries, including neck, lower back, knee, and head injuries.
After consulting many law firms in the Austin area, I hired FVF Law to represent me throughout the process. Hope Guardia was assigned to my case, and from day one, she was excellent. I explained my side of the story to her, and she told me that she believed I had a case. She immediately started gathering all the evidence about the accident and started handling the negotiations and claim process with the insurance company.
I was informed every step of the way. Hope would email or call me every time she communicated with the opposing council, and she would also follow up with me after every doctor’s appointment to check on me. She was caring and valued my case.
Hope Guardia and Mark Farris were knowledgeable and had much experience in accident law and settlement procedures.
The case took over 21 months before the settlement was reached because the insurance company was dragging the case. The opposing council kept rejecting every demand that was made by my lawyer until Mark Farris came on board to assist Hope with the case. Mark pushed the insurance company to settle the case or go to court. The first time I spoke to Mark, he assured me that he was going to be very aggressive with the opposing council, and he kept his word. Because of my injuries and all my medical bills, he insisted that the insurance company pay the full policy. Moreover, we ended up going to mediation, and the final settlement amount was very close to our demand. I think the settlement was fair given the circumstances.
All my medical bills have been paid, and I have put some money aside for future medical bills as well.
I hope what happened to me that day will never happen again to me or any of my family members. However, if I ever need an injury lawyer, I will definitely hire FVF Law Firm, especially Hope Guardia and Mark Farris. These two lawyers made me feel like a family member. For that, I am grateful for what an excellent job they did. Thank you, Hope, Mark, and FVF Law, for everything you did to help me get the best settlement in my case. Y’all are forever my lawyers!
