As a domestic violence victim, he provided me the feeling of safety, confidence, understanding, and eagerness to do what was right. Travis Turner has been our divorce attorney for many years. My husband unfortunately agreed to a poorly drafted divorce decree in 2008, which led to many years of ongoing conflict with his ex-spouse. Travis worked tirelessly on our behalf. He was able to negotiate a modification to the original divorce decree, leading to thousands of dollars saved in unnecessary spousal support. Additionally, over the last 10 years, Travis has assisted in resolving ongoing custodial arguments, as well as, dismissing false claims to child support arrears. Mr. Forest Cook was a godsend to me, and he represented me in my divorced this past year. He inspired confidence that I needed to make it through one of the most trying times in my life. During this time, one can be very frazzled and weak. Mr. Cook did nothing, but fill be with encouragement and advice. His confidence made me feel at peace and it was easy to trust him, even when trust was a serious issue for me at this point of time. He provided creative solutions that have helped me become a better parent in addition to sound, realistic family legal advice. I never felt like Mr. Cook held any sort of judgment against me or any of my views, opinions, or actions. I hired Mr. Cook to assist me in dealing with my tenants and in dealing with the City regarding a commercial piece of property. Not only is Mr. Cook knowledgeable about the law in this area, but he is practical and approaches the issues with a good sense of humor! We have had to meet with our tenants when they were not following the lease terms, and we’ve had to meet with the City when they have proposed changes that affect our property. In every case, Mr. Cook has worked on my behalf to settle issues without having to go to court by using logic, reason and a true desire to find a workable solution for everyone involved. He keeps me informed of the progress of an issue and has always been patient with me and my endless questions – to which he has the answers! She is super-sharp, could answer questions that were involved and didn't have a simple yes/no answer, provided great guidance on what to expect, when, how various things might play out, and how the various judges in Travis County might view the facts of the case. On top of that, she's a great negotiator - she was in total command of all the numbers during mediation and was able to give solid counterarguments during that process, and she had rapport with the mediator.
She also was quick to respond and ensure that all my questions were answered throughout my entire case, be it via email, phone calls, or office visits.

Going through a divorce was the most painful and difficult event in my life to date, but more importantly the future of our daughter Marley was heavy on my mind. As a father/man I felt there was no hope for me seeing our daughter more than I was(few hours a week) and being a part of the decision making in her life due to the way my ex talked to me and threated me. This was a false idea in my head and they were patient and understanding towards my fears and concerns. Sarah, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Alex, and the whole team helped me through every step of the process. I was emotional over many parts of the divorce and they were calming when I needed it and direct with certain things when I need it. I applaud the entire team for being knowledgeable about family law. The divorce took 2+ years, but I was granted joint custody of our daughter with the final decision being mine to make if my ex and I can't agree about education, health, mental health, and other major life decisions for out daughter. I also was granted the right for my home address being where our daughter goes to school along with the the custodial parent's schedule. It was extremely tough to go through a final hearing/trail with a judge, but Sarah and her team were able to display the truth and facts about what was happening and ultimately provide our daughter with the most stable future possible. Kirker Davis is a top of the line law firm that excels in strategy, execution and victory. As a Line Officer in the Navy with 16 years of service I can credibly assess that their operations are on point and well-greased. Holly and Chris are simply magic in the courtroom: expertly weaving their story on the floor and directing the flow of arguments.
What's more is that they take that extra level of care and customer service when you need it most, making critical calls and responses via email and phone at night and on the weekend should necessity dictate. The result is a pair that exhibits hybrid characteristics of both dedicated hired guns and personal friends and confidants. Kirker Davis advertises concierge level service, and it couldn't be more true.
My case started out very bleak, with multiple significant challenges and obstacles already established when I first walked into the Kirker Davis office. Although I cannot go into the details of my case, Holly, Chris and the rest of the KD team were able to turn the tables from a defensive posture to undeniable forward momentum. I will say if you are facing seemingly insurmountable odds there is no better team to have at your back and side to protect you and achieve the results you're looking for.

I consulted holly about my sister's divorce case. After listening intently, she offered to review her case free of charge and give sound advice. Some of the advice she gave were the steps we ending up taking throughout her divorce process. One thing I would say about holly is how CARING she is. Absolute charlatans. Initially spoke with Kennedy who told me everything I wanted to hear and referred me to Alonzo. All I was asking for is to have the court and force my custody rights in the Texas divorce decree. After draining my wallet for $25,000 over 2 years my case never got in front of a judge. My ex-wife's crackerjacks lawyer from some legal.com website kept my lawyer on her heels the entire time. My lawyer also found inventive ways to charge me more money and get a psychiatrist friend of hers into my pocket as well. Adding insult to injury, a friend of mines mother works at a competing law firm and was blown away that Gray and Becker was so ineffectual over something so black and white as custody outlined in a divorce decree IN THE SAME STATE THE DIVORCE WAS PROPAGATED.

I hired Ms. McCoy to handle my divorce from my ex. Me and my ex were not on the best of terms and it had the potential to get really ugly. I am involved in a custody issue spanning two states and involving both state's laws as well as federal law. As one can imagine, this is nerve-wracking. Mr Moore took his time explaining in digestible bits, what is actually happening, how to best prepare and which areas to focus on. He made me feel utterly comfortable and allowed me to ask my never ending litany of questions. Dont let his calm demeanor fool you. He is a cunning strategist!
What I really liked about my consult is he was willing to help me understand realistically what I am facing, without leaving me feeling scared.

Katherine Burnstein came highly recommended by another lawyer I've known for years, and worked for nearly 18 months on my divorce and custody case. Katherine possesses a perfect balance of compassion, empathy, and occasional brutal honesty when necessary.
Her years of experience and her clear love of ongoing learning were invaluable in helping me navigate a complex situation that I knew little about. She had the patience and willingness to listen and help me figure out what I wanted and needed, without ever pushing me toward her own conclusions. When the need arose for specialists outside of the field of law to assist with the case, I was very impressed with the experts she brought it.

I was wrongfully accused of a Title IX infraction. Marc is an exceptional listener and possesses the innate ability to ascertain facts from friction. After discussing my situation, Marc walked me through the Title IX process and explained how we should address the issue. Marc assisted in drafting a response letter to the adjudicate and coached me leading up to the interview. In the end, the accusation was not a Title IX issue, and flaws and false accusations in the claimant's testimony surfaced in which the case was ruled in my favor. I would not have known how to respond and properly defend myself without Marc’s assistance. Finally, Marc was always responsive and his fee for service was reasonable. I truly did not believe my case would result in being COMPLETELY DISMISSED, and somehow Marc was able to get it done!!!!!
Filtering through my options of attorneys, Marc gave me the best offer of anyone and had my interest even more when he told me he was previously a prosecutor for several years.
I just followed everything Marc guided me to do. He constantly walked me through everything every time we met. The justice system is certainly intimidating, and he made the experience simple from the beginning. He explained what was happening, every outcome and exactly how they came to be, what things to expect, what things to prepare for and how to prepare for them.
Facing a number of F1 charges, getting caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, I was anticipating that I'd have to do probation in the VERY least. I hired Marc Chavez for a Title XI case I was named a Respondent for. To put it briefly, he was incredible. He was present at all of my interviews with investigators and provided me with useful legal counsel throughout the entire process. Marc without a doubt is in a class of his own. On the day of our hearing, the Complainant tried pulling a fast one on us by having a surprise witness show up to testify against me. Marc handled the situation amazingly. He managed to stay calm and continue to present our case in a clear and concise manner. I don't even know where to start I have so much good to say about my experience working with Grant.
I was originally divorced in 2014 and have had 11 legal proceedings since the divorce. Attack after attack after attack from my ex. She had unlimited resources through her mom and used financial extortion tactics by hiring attorneys that could stage a better "performance" in court than the ones I had hired. Facts be damned I was punished over and over. It was disheartening because my kids were affected by all of this insanity and eventually pulled away from her and lived with me full time. They were 14 when this first started happening, and despite me having these kids full time she continued to attack me legally asserting that I had poisoned their relationship with her and alienated them from her. She knew because of the financial destruction she had caused me that I did not have the resources she did and wielded that as a weapon again and again.
When I finally had an option to fight back I was referred to Grant by a friend. HE WAS SUCH A BREATH OF FRESH AIR from the other attorneys I had worked with. It is obvious he loves what he does, he is enthusiastic, he genuinely cares about his clients, and he is a BULLDOG in the courtroom! A respectful but firm and incredibly detail oriented cross-examination of my ex completely unraveled her and created the opening I needed to get a Motion To Confer allowed by the judge for my kids. Grant, unlike the other attorneys I had in the past, fully embraced this option and pushed for it hard. The judge allowed the kids to visit privately with him, and after more than an hour with each kid exactly what I had wished for years happened. I was vindicated and the judge shut down every angle that my ex was using to come after me yet again a full 4 years after our divorce.
Grant helped me believe in the judicial system again. He also helped me believe that the right thing will eventually prevail if you have GOOD REPRESENTATION! Do not make the mistake of thinking that all attorneys are created equal. Grant was the perfect fit for my case. He is young and energetic and gave my case a massive shot in the arm. He has a team of other seasoned attorneys in his firm that worked together on my case, and his enthusiasm was the secret weapon. It was such an amazing experience having him represent me and my kids.

Catherine was an incredibly helpful and compassionate resource during a complex (but not acrimonious) divorce. My ex and I were trying to pursue what turned out to be a somewhat complicated hybrid of a mediation and collaborative divorce. Catherine was incredibly patient and insightful as she advised me on the pro's and con's of several different options. I had a very complicated divorce case. I have been fighting my ex-husband for about 9 years to get what was granted to me in my divorce decree.
He made the impossible to leave me without anything.
After so many years trying to solve the issue in a good manner and getting a good affordable lawyer which was impossible; I found Catherine.
She took me under her wing and offered me the help I had been looking for so many years.
Although the case was very complex due to the location of the assets which were overseas, and berries of the language, that still didn't intimidate Catherine and she pleasantly took the challenge.
We fought this for around one year and a half and even my ex-husband tried to persuade Catherine to leave my case, she stood with me no matter what.
We ended up going to trial after using all the tools and resources to end this issue in the most civilized manner but my ex wanted revenge at all cost.
The trial was incredible because after an exhausting 6 hours in court we got the results we wanted or even more than I was expecting. Catherine fought like a lioness for my case and destroyed completely my ex arguments. Catherine has 6 years of experience and the most incredible thing is that she bit up with no consideration a 35 year of experience lawyer and make her look like nothing. I was very impressed with her outstanding performance.
Sometimes you think getting a very experienced lawyer is going to get you to win but not in all cases and neither this one. Her professionalism and the respect of the rule of law took her to great success. She is very honest and makes very clear which ones are your options and possible outcomes.

She likes to put into practice her knowledge and abilities with assertiveness, not aggressiveness in a clear, concise, and logical manner. She possesses good oral communication skills that help her communicate persuasively effective with convincing arguments to judges.
She has an impressive high intelligence, strong analytical advocacy skills, an ability to communicate effectively structuring and evaluating arguments to persuade.
She holds the ability to listen and respond and timely manner.
I'm really grateful to God because first, he was present in all this and sent me an angel to fight for me and he didn't let me down for sure.

Barbara was on my original divorce case in 2012 and has recently represented me on a enforcement issue around child support. She really knows her stuff and does not give false hope about the situation. However, she is also very kind, compassionate and really cares about what happens with the kids in these situations.
