I had interviewed several lawyers before I picked her as my lawyer. She was the only one who called me back directly. The other lawyers had their secretary called me instead. She also had a novel approach to my divorce. Unfortunately, it didn't pan out. Throughout the case, she represented me even when she had to taged out of my case due to personal issue, she still helped me find a new lawyer. Her price was the most reasonable out of all the lawyers I talked to. She is not the type of lawyer who is trying to squeeze as much money out of you. She is very caring. Even though my case didn't come out as I would like, I would strongly recommend her as your personal lawyer.

Mr. Mallicoat is a knowledgeable lawyer who attempted to help my wife and I with saving her Father's house from foreclosure. My Father-in-Law was preyed upon by a "foreclosure-prevention firm" and lost thousands before I spoke with Mr. Mallicoat. We were able to prevent this "firm" from scamming my Father-in-Law out of further money after speaking with Mr. Mallicoat. Unfortunately, we did up losing the house to foreclosure because the process was far too advanced before I got Mr. Mallicoat involved. Even still, I would recommend Mr. Mallicoat for his caring, knowledgeable, and practical help in legal matters.

Irene Intelligator represented me in a highly contentious case. she was honest and professional. The first time i visited her office, she comforted me and gave me courage. she also explained to me that litigation is expensive and only the attorneys benefit from prolonged litigation. By encouraging me to settle, she was clearly acting in my, as opposed to her own, financial interest. From the very first meeting I knew that I had found a great attorney. Ruth took my case, came up with a great strategy, was quick to modify the plan when new information came to light and won my case in court. She is the best! I had 3 previous attorneys over the course of the divorce proceedings and they were terrible. Ruth convinced the judge it was unfair for me to pay lifetime alimony and the judge terminated my alimony payments.

We hired Jamra and Jamra for a volatile divorce and were super happy to have Michael Hanasab handle our case. There were lots of scary issues to contend with regarding child custody and allegations about unfairness in the divorce proceedings. Michael gave the best advice, although I wasn’t the best at following it, I did end up getting full custody of my children. I wish that all of this never happened but am very grateful to Michael for being the voice of reason. He was able to defend a lot of the unjust accusations and kept a calm demeanor throughout all of the drama. I will always be appreciative of Michael’s knowledge of the law and his ability to apply it with such precision. He is honest, reliable and professional. I was in a very stressful and critical phase of my divorce where I was being accused of some pretty untrue, but lethal things that could have caused me to not get the custody of my children I wanted and deserved. I hired Mike and he came in there and made the "clutch free-throws" when it counted. He responded perfectly to the opposing council. We ended up going to court and he walked in their looking highly polished and confident, not arrogant and made the opposing council so nervous, they had no choice but to back down and give me what was fair and reasonable.

I hired Michael (along with Grace Jamra) in 2011. I came over from another big firm as I had been disappointed with the direction of my ongoing custody case. At the time I hired Michael I was facing more litigation and hearings and an evaluation. Michael was able to talk to opposing counsel and made every attempt to calm the situation. He knew my case inside and out, was reachable when I needed him and guided me through some very tough times. When it came to the evaluation Michael was instrumental in helping to pick the right evaluator (something that took quite a while) and met with me on several occasions to answer any and all questions I had about the process. Needless to say, my case turned around and in the end Michael was able to get opposing party to settle (even though opposing party was adamant about fighting and going to trial).
As for cost, I had to laugh at the negative review here. I was charged triple that amount at my previous firm in a matter of months. The billing with Michael @ Jamra & Jamra was incredibly fair and hugely different billing practices than some of the bigger firms. I never once felt I was being over billed or double/triple billed like I did at my previous big firm. Anyone who is going into custody litigation needs to do research and realize that it is an expensive area of law and the more litigation involved the higher the costs. I wouldn't think twice before recommending Michael to others if they needed a good and competent custody/divorce lawyer.

I hired Tess Cozine to represent me in my divorce case. In my case, we had no children but a 12 year marriage with significant assets and I am the breadwinner. So, I had a lot to lose from a financial perspective -- I was on the hook for spousal support, and was going to lose half of my investments and two LA properties to my spouse who had none and contributed little during our marriage. I was also on the hook to pay not only my own attorney costs, but to pay my spouse's costs. I was facing an enormous financial cost and was very concerned that my divorce outcome would cause financial ruin or worst case, bankrupt me and I would lose all the properties and savings that I worked so hard to achieve.
When I was evaluating different attorneys, I chose Tess because of her credentials and experience -- UCLA Law school grad with 13 solid years of Family Law experience. And I liked that her firm, Levin Margolin, was specialized in Family Law but wasn't too large or small. If I ever needed other more senior counsel, Tess could draw upon her partners to provide that. For the "day to day" work, I was able to get a very skillful and knowledgeable attorney but at a better value (Tess is an Associate Partner) than if I hired a Partner. And if I did need a Partner's counsel, Tess's firm was able to provide that.
Getting divorced is one of the most traumatic and scary experiences I've had to endure. You're at your lowest point emotionally and at a scary financial juncture that could ruin your financial future for many years to come. It's a crappy and ridiculously expensive system here in the US but there's no other way out of a marriage. So, finding a lawyer that is not only skillful, and experienced -- while not taking financial advantage of me, was my utmost concern. Tess Cozine has operated with fairness and integrity throughout the 3 year process. Furthermore, she has a rare ability to understand short-term tactical strategy while keeping her eye on the long term strategy and goal. She's incredibly smart, savvy and personable. I enjoyed working with her. A divorce case is very much about making "cost-benefit" decisions -- i.e., analyzing what costs to incur with the intent that those investments would pay off and save me money in the long term. I've learned that it was critically important to not only hire Tess but to hire a couple experts that she recommended (forensic accountant and vocational examiner) that proved to be extremely worthwhile investments. With my positive outcome, I look back at the recommendations Tess made along the way after careful consideration as to whether or not it was a wise investment -- and she was always right. She knew who to hire and who not to hire -and she knew when it made sense to spend money and when it didn't. She always carefully considered the cost of each tactical move and would discuss with me before proceeding. She knew I was extremely cost-conscious and was able to put herself in my shoes with every decision.
Due to my ex-husband's reluctance to settle or cooperate in the process - and because he was living in my house at my expense -- our case dragged out and was unusually long (over 3 years).
This 3 year process gave me a lot of insight into the keys to a successful client-attorney experience and I'm so thankful that I hired Tess and Levin Margolin. With Tess's skillful tactical and long term strategy, I was prevailed on all issues of my case. Tess has given me renewed confidence in the Family Law profession -- as she and her firm are not only super savvy, smart and strategic -- but she and her firm operate with integrity. Many attorneys are not this way. There are many shady, unethical and unscrupulous attorneys. I was very skeptical of all attorneys when I hired her. I hired Tess almost 8 years ago to represent me as a single new father in a custody battle case. I knew going in that I didnt have much of a chance of anything going up against the legal system and the Mother of my child. But immediately I felt that Tess cared about me and my situation and wasn't just going through the motions. Cheryl prepared our prenup document. While these docs can be stressful and challenging for obvious and emotional reasons. She was throughout, comprehensive, considerate and effective. I was dealing with a very difficult employment situation. Not only was she able to keep me from making several very detrimental mistakes that would have given the company the upper hand in negotiations, she was tough and ultimately was able to get much better results than if I tried to negotiate on my own. Beyond brilliant. He was hands-on, considerate, and meticulous. Bruce is an excellent communicator who didn’t miss a detail. This was such an asset both when communicating with him directly, and in his persuasive, impeccable communication with my ex-husband’s team. He displayed a strong sense of fairness, and had a very impressive way of keeping things moving forward at all times. He made me feel very looked after.
