Terry Brown took on my divorce case which appeared to be a simple uncontested divorce as there was a pre-nuptial agreement. However, it quickly morphed into a complex contested divorce with out of state and international complications. The defendant was not a US citizen but did have permanent resident status. I had signed an immigrant sponsorship document that defense counsel attempted to use to claim alimony which would have reached into the six figures. Opposing council attempted to show that I was an abusive husband, even calling in DFACS to investigate (and spend hours searching my house). The pre-nuptial agreement was questioned and opposing council made a rigorous attempt to get this rejected by the court. The defendant would not supply all documents requested during discovery thus causing numerous problems and a trip to court to obtain these. Several issues and conflicts with the defendant’s income statements were found by Terry. Even with all these problems (and about 20 other minor issues) and a yearlong divorce, Terry won the case for me. The abuse issue was unfounded, DFACS refused to investigate farther as there was no evidence and conflicting information provided. The immigration sponsorship was not accepted, and the pre-nuptial agreement was. As Terry stated “what’s your’s is your’s and what’s mine is mine” turned out correctly. While it was a long, stressful divorce, the trial outcome was better that I expected based on the risk and exposure I had. I will recommend Terry for any type of divorce.

Marriage is hard. Divorce is even harder. I was married for 7 years. It was suppose to be forever, and my world came crashing down. A friend recommended Marcy Hanks and her team as my lawyer. During the consultation, I was so nervous. Nervous to tell her the things that should only stay intimate within a marriage. She assured me that I could tell her everything and that she was there to support me. They always say that the only one’s that win in a divorce are the lawyers. I disagree with this statement whole heartedly. One point during the divorce Marcy called me, not as my lawyer but as a Christian friend, she had been reading messages that my spouse and I were sending each other back and forth. She wanted to make sure that we did everything in our power to save this marriage. I assured her that we had: marriage counseling, Re-Engage, Small groups, and an intensive marriage retreat. Michael has been such a blessing throughout this whole process, and I can't say enough great things about him. I met with several other attorneys before finding Michael, but immediately knew during our initial consultation that I wanted him to represent me for my case. I came into this not knowing anything about child custody law, and being completely terrified about what the outcome might be. Michael was calm and confident from the very start, and remained that way throughout the duration of my case. He was always honest with me even if it was something I didn't want to hear. He fought so hard to get me the things I wanted, and never made me feel stupid or crazy for feeling the way I did on certain aspects of my case. Mike was amazing! From the moment I first spoke to him on the phone, to our first meeting, and all through out the divorce process Mike made me feel extremely comfortable. He was there for me any time I needed him and he made sure to reassure me any time I was having a melt down. He never lost his patience with me and I was a nagging client. Mike graciously took over our case with a month to catch up on everything before our final court date. No words can even describe how much of an excellent attorney he is but I will try my best to express it below!
-He communicated impeccably and I always got a call back no later than 24 hours (literally within a few hours).
-I was listened to carefully and I was given honest advice on my case even if it necessarily wasn’t what I wanted to hear.

Finally, I was floored by the outcome of court and even though some of the parts were really questionable on what the outcome would be since it’s up to the judge, however with his excellent representation we were able to get everything we asked for.

As dramatic as the title is, Mr. Davis did just that. I was in the divorce of hell! Not to mention a custody battle that included IVF. The question was if the baby that I carried via RIVF( carried wife’s egg) was legally mine. As the state of Georgia does not legitimate children born of IVF, I was told that I was a biological stranger to my children. Like the child that was cut out of my uterus could be taken away from me as well as our son that was born a month before marriage. My life was literally being ripped apart! Mr. Davis did not offer any promises but assured me that we would take this thing head on. He did just that I was granted 50/50 custody to both of my children and child support. He’s a godsend! I’m forever grateful. Not to mention he always answered all of my frantic calls, emails, and text messages. Thank you again!

Will was my attorney in divorce litigation that took a year to resolve due to the contentious nature of my former spouse and his attorney. Will supported me through the entire process with sound advice, compassion, in-depth knowledge of the legal system and the individuals involved in our case, and an impeccable attention to detail. I knew in every step of the process that Will knew the facts of the case, presented the most relevant information to support our stance, and provided emotional support to me during this challenging time. These last few years in have been dealing with hostage situation in the form of my Ex wife who choose to leave our marital home with our child. My previous representation IS a wreck and I had to find someone that actually could do the job.
Gina not only provided patience, logical standpoints and understanding but she also treated me like a person and not just a case or an income. Gina Grady of this lawy firm recently represented me for a case involving a divorce with children. She helped me settle this divorce, get a contempt against the children’s other parent for refusing visitation and in the end I got custody of my children because of their previously unstable living environment.
Both the firm and Mrs Grady were very professional and very responsive. They allowed me to do as much leg work as I could to help with the case and Mrs Grady would use all resources available, including conferring with other attorneys at the firm, to ensure that everything was handled and accurately and proficiently as possible.

I divorced 13 years ago and made the mistake of not requiring my ex-husband to refinance our mortgages. For the last 6 years, my ex consistently missed mortgage payments which destroyed my credit. Every attorney I spoke to about my situation said that I didn't have a case. Then I met Thad. My ex was forced to sell his house. Thankfully he sold it when he did because he hadn't made a payment in over 6 months and the house was in pre-foreclosure. Now I'm finally off of the mortgages after 13 years. I went into this unfortunate situation completely unaware of what to expect. Constantly worried about what the final outcome would be, but in the end Catherine delivered in all aspects of representing me and my needs. In comparison to the opposing the counsel, it was so obvious that Catherine was better prepared, more knowledgable, better organized, and completely in control of the situation at all times. Communication: Excellent. Emails and phone calls were responded to in less than 24 hours and in most cases with in a few hours during the business day. Additionally, proactive communication concerning status was immediate. I knew exactly where we were in the process at all times without having to ask.
Staff: Like most law firms, Elizabeth has a team of paralegals and support staff. I found them to be a pleasure to work with. They were all friendly, very responsive and knowledgeable.
Use of Technology: While seemingly less important, the competent use of technology can make or break the experience. Elizabeth's firm uses technology very well. Meetings can be conducted leveraging video conferencing, payments can be automated, detailed billing reports are available in near real time, and they use document repositories very effectively that both parties have access to. The shared document repositories were great.
Representation and attention to detail: Elizabeth and her team are very friendly but aggressive while still ethical when it comes to their approach. They do not leave items on the table, so to speak. I truly believe that I could not have received better representation. They went above and beyond on more than one occasion. They were so effective that we were able to avoid a nasty court battle without capitulating on any of our requests. Highly unusual outcome. As a note (the defendant may not agree), I do believe that Elizabeth prevented a truly negative and potentially damaging outcome for the defendant.
Cost: This is a hard one for me to judge since I do not have the need for legal representation often. However, I do believe that in most cases you get what you pay for. Therefor, the benefit and outcome justified the cost. I am pretty sure that I was not billed for every single second that was spent on my case. In other words, I was not "nickel and dimmed". Additionally, cost and fees were transparent and communicated clearly. There were no surprises.
In summation, I would absolutely retain this firm again.

I meet Mrs Austin through the legal assistance program, and at first I thought she was just another court appointed attorney. You know the ones where they are assigned too many cases and because your not able to afford their services they give you subpar results. Not in this case, Mrs Austin treated me with respect and understood that everyone that finds them self in a criminal situation is not a criminal. So she actually looked into my case and found out the truth and then assisted me in any and every way possible. Mr. Pettersson was persistent and firm without being obnoxious and he was very thorough in covering each part of my case. The other side paid three times as much (and some of my fees too :).
