The father of my child decided to file a paternity case in Texas (me and my daughter have always lived in California) and after talking to Matt on the phone - I knew he was the one to hire. We were both pretty much on the same page. Matt filed a Special Appearance on my behalf, wrote an amazing argument and I provided some exhibits. I was CONFIDENT that he would get it dismissed, however, we were really wanting to get the attorney's fees because of the dbag's wreckless behavior by filing the frivolous lawsuit. Matt was able to get the attorney's fees as well! It was VICTORIOUS!!! I did not have to make a trip to Texas. If you have jurisdiction issues in re: child custody matters, I would not hesitate to contact Matt! Apparently, he's done a few cases in regards to UCCJEA or state jurisdiction in general.

I interviewed several attorneys and I chose Lauren because I felt she was confident, competent, and had the experience I was looking for. I consulted with Lauren several times before beginning the divorce process. Each time she was happy to discuss the facts and the process without pressuring me to make a decision. Divorce is a very delicate and difficult decision. It was important for me to be informed but not pressured. Lauren was great at accomplishing this. Once I made my decision Lauren was great at helping me move through the process. We discussed various approaches and I was able to make informed decisions on each aspect of my divorce. There was even one particular instance where we had a miscommunication and she was great about fixing it and clarifying what I wanted. Another important aspect of working with an attorney is billing. I like to feel that I am being treated fairly and not being overcharged. I felt that both Lauren and Vanessa(her legal aid) were extremely efficient and fair in the billing process. I would recommend Lauren to anyone seeking a divorce or family attorney.

After interviewing numerous attorneys to handle my divorce, I couldn't help but be put off by how "routine" it was for them. That was NOT the case with Lauren Waddell. She listened. She understood I needed someone to not only guide me through this process, but also someone to protect my interest and those of my daughters.

Melissa was there for me every step of the way! She held my hand through the process and skated the dragons for me when it got tough. But no matter where I was in the litigation process, Melissa was right there to handle it and manage the craziness that I was going through. She was caring and her staff and legal assistants were always there for me. If I called and she was in court, I could always count on her calling me back asap! Same with her staff. Did a wonderful job with my divorce. It was a pretty simple case, but when opposing counsel got out of line, she made mincemeat of them. Very friendly and engaging and made a bad process easier. Only quibble: was some times hard to reach, but it was no real big deal.

Chris Carmona is one of the best attorneys in the Houston area. I filed for a change of custody suit and things took a turn for the worst not even a quarter of the way into the case. The attorney I used was not helping me at all and seemed clueless in court. My ex had the upper hand because he had a lawyer who knew what he was doing. After firing the attorney I looked to Chris Carmona for help. Not only did he give me advice, he stepped in and took my case. Over a period of time, I have paid approximately $30,000 in legal fees. My case is one of those that you really think only a miracle can save you. This was true until I was referred to Mary. From day one she was engaged, attentive, fast and clear. She explained to me all the pros and cons and we decided to move forward with my case. She was very specific of the documents and timelines she needed from me. After the application was sent, during the waiting period, she followed up my case and kept on calling and emailing USCIS specially when my case was out of processing times.
