Lauren Whitt was my lawyer, Shelby Burns her assistant, and they are AMAZING!!!! I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with her and Hope Law Firm. They have been communicative, knowledgeable, and so kind in my biggest time of need. I consulted Kathleen to help me redo my will to a trust. Kathleen was very friendly. she asked me a bunch of questions over the phone and got all my information that she needed to prepare my trust. Marie, her assistant was very helpful. She sent me all the paperwork and told me what to do. She even put labels on every place. I needed to either date or sign and that was very helpful. The best thing is we did everything over the phone so I did not have to go anywhere to get it done. Both Kathleen and Marie were super nice and I would definitely recommend them to anybody that is looking for a lawyer.

Going through a bankruptcy can be a scary process. Jeff will take away those fears with his professionalism, knowledge, caring and availability for any and all questions. One point I want to emphasize is the availability. Many attorneys are hard to get a a hold of and it is days before you get your questions answered. Not with Jeff, I never waited more than 24 hours for any answers and in most cases it was right away. You can not go wrong selecting Jeff as your attorney. Back in 2019 I had my first born, I was a young dumb kid.. I was living in Wyoming, my child’s father lived in Iowa. I had come to visit and while I was here my 3 month old son’s father decided to take him from me. I went into a panic and Stephanie was there. From my first call she fought for me and my wants. We got my son back within 36hrs. From there she checked on me while I was back in Wyoming. Fast forward I decided to move back to Iowa. Stephanie was there with me the whole process. Even when my wants were far fetched she would tell me what was responsible for the time being and what steps we could take. She listened to everything and for once she actually heard me and my wants. Fast forward I got married and my sons father just kinda disappeared so Stephanie helped us getting through the process of adoption. I couldn’t be more thankful. She comforted me and listened.. she went above and beyond the suit and paperwork. She is truly there for the family and the best interests of the child.

I retained Stephanie when filing for divorce back in April of 2020. Due to Covid, my finalization date was pushed way out to the Fall of 2021. She did an excellent job to guide me through the process and she knew her stuff on a high level. She's professional, responsive and blunt in a beneficial way. She asked how I wanted to go about things while guiding me in the way she thought the court would see fit. She's aggressive yet courteous. Her passion for law helped ensure that my legal needs were met from start to finish. I have two small kids and an ex that has substance abuse and mental health issues and she pushed for what was best for the safety of my kids. My divorce wasn't cheap but it was a battle from start to finish. I can't fully comment on the financial end because I'm not sure how her prices compare to others in town. I just know what I paid was more than worth it. I can't imagine having any one else as a attorney besides her.

I couldn't be happier with the choice of hiring Stephanie for the custody modification needed. She is not only compassionate and empathetic, taking the time to really get to know every detail of the case and listen thoroughly, she is also very aggressive when needed and proactive, seeking the best outcome for my daughter. She set realistic expectations throughout the process, detailing our choices and possible outcomes. She always responded with well thought out replies or advice. I have been involved with Department of Human Services a total of four times now. With having experience in a juvenile system I am aware there's not much I nor an attorney can do. I requested a different attorney for this case and was selected Maxine buckmeier. I was hesitant at first that I would be stigmatized and stereotype but Maxine did neither of those things. I was impressed with her courage her knowledge and the responsibility that she takes on for other parents that are trapped in the juvenile system. She is helpful with sharing great advice, knowledge and Common Sense. Not to mention she is a state-appointed attorney home I do not pay. She has been respondent quick to the point and Abel to communicate my needs effectively with the DHS worker in the other attorneys. Maxine Buckmeier facilitated three adoptions for us. One in particular was extremely complicated and required extra attention. All three required extensive experience involving ICWA. Maxine was able to address all the issues with each. The respect and care she showed for each of the birth parents and babies was admirable. We wouldn’t consider working with another attorney in the event we decide on another adoption.

My brother and I were contemplating dividing our inherited farm into two parcels, rather than being owners in common. We were introduced to Buchheit Law by our previous lawyer who had retired. Buchheit Law did an excellent job of taking care of our request. We had a virtual meeting and she explained the process so we understood what would go on, and then kept us aware of the action required and that which had been completed. Buchheit Law recommended the surveyor and appraiser that were required, both very satisfactory. Lindsey and the staff were very easy to work with, covering any questions completely. Brian has represented me for a custody modification, and is currently representing me for a divorce and custody battle with an estranged husband that clearly suffers from narcissistic personality disorder and/or antisocial behavior disorder. Brian has had to endure harrassment from my estranged husband via email, court affidavits referencing him and his family members, multiple psychotic phone calls and now bad reviews of his law firm for no other reason than the other party lost and is losing. The drama is never ending with the narcissistic ones when they are losing. It is comparable to a child's temper tantrum. Brian has had to take many, many emails and phone calls from me over the last 18+ months and was always responsive. While dealing with all of this, Brian has been successful in every court hearing we have filed and I believe it will be one more in the books after the upcoming trial is over with this miserable abuser of a soon to be ex husband.

David, and Marica were with me throughout the process. From days after I got injured until the last day of our Mediation. Both would check in often as we reached each new step. I couldn't be more happy with the service they both provided. I was nervous but they eased my mind through it all. David and Marica even made it easy for me on days I could not make it to Des Moines. Mr. Gallagher represented my family in a child custody case and he gave me a better defense than I could have imagined. He was extremely professional, and really did his research on the opposing party prior to trial. When it was all said and done, I spent around $6000 which was a bit steep for my taste, BUT, I was awarded full custody of my son and got to put a messy situation to bed which was long overdue. You truly cannot put a price on that.

Mr. Dane did an extremely thorough job explaining our options during bankruptcy proceedings, as well as advising on a secondary suit.
He worked with us with extreme flexibility, along with open communication, and took the time to explain, and made sure we were well informed and prepared. Ron clearly knew the ins and outs of estate work, for which we hired him. He made me and my family feel we were in very capable hands after a most trying event, the loss of a beloved family member. Ron returned e-mails and calls almost immediately, often within a few minutes. He was thorough and detailed in his responses and in our meetings as well. He is capable of very assertive conduct when need be but for us as clients he was polite, friendly, and attentive to our questions and needs while being professional. After my wife passed suddenly earlier this year, I contacted 4 different local Law Firms about what I needed (one being the legal adoption of my disabled step daughter). Tim was the only one that didn’t give me the “run-a-round”. After discussing some of the legal things I needed to accomplish, Tim informed me of a couple of other things that also needed to be taken care of. He took the time to get to know my stepdaughter and I and insured that we were both well informed on all of the aspects of our situation. Jenny was great to work with. From the first meeting with her, I felt at ease, which is a great quality to have when going through a stressful time. She was very smart and knowledgeable, and even broke things down into layman terms if need be. Jenny was easy to reach by email and responded very promptly. Debra is a very knowledgeable divorce and child custody lawyer. One of the main reasons I think she is a great lawyer is because she tells it like it is. I didn’t always like what she told me to do but I did it. My situation might be different from most. I was a father of 4 and had primary custody of my children. My ex-wife, after I had remarried and moved on, started calling DHS routinely on us. Debra always handled all of these complaints directly. My ex-wife would take us back to court yearly for unfounded complaints. After the 3rd time Debra had added to my decree if petitioner files and looses the case they will be responsible for all court and lawyer fees. This helped keep me out because The court had always ruled against her. The last instance the court awarded me all of my legal fees because none of my ex-wife’s allegations were proven. this stopped all further court cases. If I was doing something Debra though would negatively effect me she told me to stop. She is an upfront and honest lawyer. She tells you how it is whether you like it or not.

Kate was an absolute pleasure to work with. She handled all of my concerns promptly and always made herself available for conversation when issues came up. I highly recommend her if you are going through a divorce, she worked circles around my spouses so called "experienced" lawyer and she was always two steps ahead of him.
