I cannot say enough positive about Lisa as an attorney and a person. She tremendously navigated many issues for me, including divorce, child custody, and relocation. I felt that she listened to me and understood what was most important to me and best for my situation and ensured those objectives were front and center and reminded me of what was most important when I got distracted by ancillary difficult issues and emotions. I thought her ability to relate and understand was incredible. She is a very accomplished lawyer with excellent negotiation skills and positive interactions with the judges. I found her deep commitment to me and my case to be phenomenal. I appreciated her candor and ability to cut to the chase. Hiring Lisa as my attorney was the second best decision I made in my divorce...after the decision to get divorced. I had initial consultations with 3 attorneys - all came well recommended and were professional. But only Lisa struck me as immediately "getting" the issues with my ex, and she had a specific plan for how to address those issues. She's now represented me for almost 5 years in this matter - through settlement negotiation, trial, and lots of complicated ups and downs in between. She's not fighting for the sake of fighting or racking up a bill. She's realistic - she will tell you when you're wasting your time / money. She'll tell you when you're overreacting. But if you do need to fight, she will have your back and be your fiercest advocate. I recommend her to anyone without reservation.

Divorce is a super challenging experience and I went through a nasty battle while working and dealing with cancer. Lisa was the best friend I needed in my corner. She and her Associate, Matthew Marcus fought tirelessly for me and my daughters. Lisa wasn’t afraid to be frank and honest with me. She pushed me to stand up. Thanks to Lisa and Matt, I was granted full custody of my daughters and more than I would have expected from my settlement.

I had a complicated situation where in i had to get divorce through publication as my husband & i had not been in contact for 5 years & i was out of US for few years. (it was an abusive marriage)
I reside in Buffalo & i spoke with several attorneys locally but i did not feel that any of the local attorneys were able able to understand my situation. Some suggested that i locate my husband & each one of them wanted to start by identifying & listing the assets.

Lois acted as the mediator in my divorce, and she was absolutely excellent. It was a very difficult time for me personally, but Lois made the process as easy and painless as it could possibly have been. She listened to each of us separately, and made thoughtful and helpful suggestions. She is fair, and seemed to genuinely care about finding a solution that was best for both parties.

My experience with Seth is that he is a very knowledgeable and down to earth attorney. Very responsive to say the least! Due to Seth's expertise, I had an impressively short custody battle.
As a father in the family court, I had very little confidence in gaining custody. Seth reassured me that I had a strong case. Seth is an honest attorney who works hard for his clients--he was very precise and detailed in spotting out some not so obvious inconsistencies in my child support case.
I’m sure that Seth will ensure the best possible outcome to any type of litigation within the family courts--with the child/children in mind as the priority.

Can I tell Seth gave me my life back after being severely abused and surviving and getting to a safe space. Seth took over I was so afraid he handled everything he did everything in court and saved my life. I cannot thank him enough . I had a harrowing divorce battle and am fortunate to have had Amanda Shaffer as my attorney. I was served with a surprise hearing in Integrated Domestic Violence Court (IDVF) - with not even a hearing date - and I scrambled to find counsel. After a frantic search and a dozen interviews with different attorneys, I chose Amanda because of her understanding of the situation and high conflict personalities.
Amanda’s approach is like a fox. She is methodical, knowing when to stay quiet - and when to strike. (For me, staying quiet was one of the hardest things because I wanted to immediately prove my innocence and refute every false allegation against me. She told me this would take time, which it did.)
In addition to being kind, clever, ethical, wise and emotionally intelligent, Amanda is also tough. She would not allow us to be bullied by the opposing counsel and their dirty tactics.

Updated review. I cannot stress to anybody reading this enough: who you hire matters and you get what you pay for. Attorney’s have case after case slide across their desk. It’s a job at the end of the day to most. If Aaron Shapiro or the force that is Amanda Schaffer takes your case, TRUST THEM. Full disclosure: I am a nightmare client. On a scale from 1-10, I’m an 11 in terms of annoying. My son is my absolute world. I have been a “white pony” more times than you can imagine. Over-billed. None of it made sense. Those attorneys cared about a paycheck. Aaron and Amanda are not only EXCELLENT attorneys, they’re good people. They have a backbone. Their time is valuable. They’re not cheap. Know that. When your child, freedom, or immigration status is on the line — don’t put it in the hands of someone who treats you like a file. The legal progress is exhausting (mentally and financially — I know it all too well.) It’s unfair. Read that again.

I was in desperate need of top notch legal counsel and representation, and that's when I found the deservedly top-rated law firm of Raiser & Kenniff.
Mr. Kenniff is, like me, a veteran of the armed forces, having served honorably in wartime Iraq. He is also a former NYC prosecutor who was the GOP's 2021 nominee for the powerful office of Manhattan District Attorney. So Mr. Kenniff had the perfect background and mindset to be of invaluable assistance to my case.
I had never been in such a daunting situation. I survived being victimized by some deranged street lowlife with a criminal record 10 times as long as this review only to be victimized by the NYPD, and the Bronx DA's office. After figuring out what had happened, both rogue institutions became hellbent on seeing me finish my life in some upstate gulag where I would be surrounded 24/7/365 by people as bad or worse than the animal whose sudden violent attack I had successfully fended off. A heavy-hitter like Mr. K was needed to defend me from these enlightened despots.
The DA's office should never have filed charges against me. Besides the rank injustice of such an unnecessary and mean-spirited action, they had no evidence capable of meeting their evidential burden, even though that burden has gotten frighteningly lighter in recent years. Indeed, their only evidence was languishing in a solitary confinement unit on Riker's Island - where he should have been the night we met - and they had nothing but that maniac to go to the grand jury with. But the bitter old saying, "You can indict a ham sandwich" is true, especially in frightened Gotham, so it seemed likely I would still be put through the expense and ordeal of a full-blown criminal trial at some point down the road.
And I surely would have if the assistant DA didn't know who was representing me: the notorious and feared legal gunslingers Raiser & Kenniff! When “the People” noticed who was representing me, they realized they would have many, MANY hours of work ahead of them, and in the end would STILL lose. Thank God I had the great Tom Kenniff in my corner, and that meant there was no point wasting a lot of time and resources trying to railroad me into the clink. Four months after my arraignment, a mealy-mouthed, assistant DA requested the judge dismiss all charges against me. It was all I could do to exit the courtroom without twerking!
If you are in big trouble like I was don't fool around or shop around. Hire these well-known terminators and like me you'll be damned glad you did. :)
