I am writing to share my recent experience while searching for an attorney to assist with my case. Initially, I considered hiring Elisabeth Camaur and her firm based on a recommendation. However, a close friend of mine strongly advised against it due to her negative experience with them.
My friend reported that Elisabeth Camaur and her team seemed more focused on prolonging cases to increase their fees rather than resolving issues efficiently. Despite my friend’s case being relatively straightforward and capable of resolution within a few visits, it was unnecessarily dragged out. This approach appeared to prioritize financial gain over client satisfaction.
Additionally, my friend noted a high turnover rate within the firm, which further impacted the quality of service. She emphasized the importance of thoroughly reviewing any contract before signing, as once engaged, the firm seemed adept at securing their financial interests over resolving client issues.
Given this feedback, I have decided to continue my search for a more reasonable and client-focused attorney. I wanted to share this experience to help others make informed decisions and avoid similar dissatisfaction.

I hired Courtney Shepard because I was told she would be a "Tiger" in the court for me. I really needed someone who could stand up for what was right with my divorce. Instead, I got a feeble attorney. Everytime we had a meeting, she was always jittery, biting her nails, always asking me the same questions. Most of the time she was not prepared. Courtney and her staff didn't keep me in the loop as to what was going on. They scheduled a deposition and didn't tell me about it. I had to constantly ask her & her staff to update me. If you are looking for an attorney who will fight for you, look elsewhere. DON'T hire Courtney Shepard!

I started a case with Alvandi back in 2020 they dont communicate there has been little contact since case finished my check bounced and been almost impossible to know if I will get it they tell me a different story every time and if i call i have to say Im a new customer to speak with anyone. When I call employers they say the check is just sitting there and just needs someone at Alvandi to OK it, they also say the only way to get check is to go to there office. My shoulder still damaged and would be nice if I could pay rent and i dont know if I care anymore its going to have been going on almost 5 years later and I definitely think there office Is incompetent at there job and have horrible attitudes.

Amy Gostanian took all our info and make us understand all the pro and cons in making a trust, paralegal Diane Davis was the go too and she took all info that we agreed during the meeting, she went above and behind to treat us the best way possible, she is a very good hearted person.

I would never recommend anyone to use Emily as their attorney. I hired her many many years ago to represent me for my child custody/ support case and she did nothing to help me. I did all the leg work by providing her all my documents, going to the court to retrieve old documents from previous cases with the father of my children. The day of court she showed up with no paperwork, good thing I was prepared and had a copy of the whole case with me that she used. After months of not hearing from her with an update she informed me the judge threw out my case due to the other parent having outstanding violations and that I could pay the tickets myself to live forward which turned out to be a lie years later. I went to the court to try to proceed with the case on my own and the staff thought I was crazy and advised me to fire my attorney because they hard record she showed up to court on an unknown date and represented me and the judge did actually grant me full custody and child support which I did not know about for years. When I asked for the final documents they informed me the child support will not be valid since the attorney filed the order after hearing incorrectly and left off the child support but it was mentioned in the minute order. Per the court staff I would have to refill all the paperwork and serve the other parent again and go before a judge. It’s impossible for me to serve the other parent as he is in jail far away and financially I do not have the funds nor time to do this as this has been a case going since about 2013. Do not waste your time or money because you will be left doing the attorney work on your own.

Barbara Fritz sold my children for her fees. Now my children are taken away from their mother, from their living home , now my children stay alone, hungry at a house with 87 year old grandma while their father is constantly out from the house.

I gotta be honest, I did not know what to expect halfway into a highly contentious, long, drawn-out battle in my divorce. COVID didn't help the process either. The Court ordered a Minor's Counsel. A friend of mine instantly knew who she was having dealt with custody issues in her divorce as well, and told me I'd love her. She was SO right. From day one, Barbara was open and honest with (both my ex and) me, but more importantly, brilliant with my teenager. They developed an excellent rapport and my teen completely respected and trusted her. She would remind me when I was ignorant or incorrect, and praise me when I had the right approach. Firm, but always professional. She was impartial towards us parents, but absolutely represented my kid's best interest. After my child refused to have contact with their mom, she further recommended Dr. Liberman as a Reconciliation Counselor, as they have worked together for years. I can only offer gratitude and praise for him as well. In the end, I was awarded full custody until my kid's 18th bday, and we remained protected from my ex-wife. The Court did the right thing, not only in their initial decision granting a DVRO and Custody, but also in introducing us to Barbara Fritz, Esq.

Found Haasty at her initial firm she was with and she was awesome. She left that firm and I actually stuck with her and was happy with her attentiveness and compassion. My Family law case was a couple years total and a few months before I was to finally put the whole ordeal behind me, she literally disappeared. The only word I got from her new firm was that she was not available for my case and assigned me to another attorney I knew nothing about. A year and a half of hard work and trust tossed aside with not even an email from Haasty saying...well something at least. If it were just me involved that’s one thing but everything was and still is about my daughter and that’s the worst part. No explanation, we never had any slight hint of an argument, she had my total trust and vanished. Clearly she has come back into the google searches and good for her. But to anyone who might be thinking about retaining her, just keep it in the back of your mind to expect the unexpected from her.

This attorney was worthless! She let my ex-wife get away with stealing the title of my 2.2. million-dollar house. She is so utterly incompetent with absolutely NO BACKBONE WHATSOEVER to defend the law or her clients. Because she is so weak-minded and spineless even the judges don't show her any respect. I ended up having to pay back the hard money loan my ex-wife took out with the fraudulent property title! Only because Anna Brace doesn't belong being a lawyer. She should do the rest of the world a favor and quit trying to do a job she clearly can only seem to do on an extremely pathetic level! My boys’ mother wanted to have our current 50/50 court order changed to 70/50 in her favor. I started a new job that required me to travel for training the first several months. I ended up traveling a lot that first year. During this time, my boys’ mother was keeping a meticulous calendar of when she had our boys on my court ordered time. According to her calendar, she had our boys 70% of the time. Along with some other complaints, she and her attorney brought this calendar into court (thinking it was their winning ACE).
What she and her attorney didn’t know was that I had the winning ace. The real winning ace. Anna C. brACE. Anna not only helped me keep 50/50 custody, she had my boys’ mom pay for the investigator’s fees which where around $1,000. Instead of me paying child support, which I did for the first 5 years, my boys’ mom was ordered to pay me child support and arears for the previous year. If this isn’t a win, I’m not sure what is. I give Anna a full 5 stars. Thank you Anna!

Steve Nordhoff did a great job dealing with my angry, intimidating ex husband. He was patient and professional. I hired Ms Oleary for a divorce matter, I felt like she did not explain all the possible options for me and as soon as I know it she informs me my retainer has been used up for a couple of phone calls. We Cleary had a verbal agreement that my fee would cover me up until trial. During the process I felt judged my her and her legal assistant. I'm not sure who wrote all the reviews, on or around the same day, but their experience does not match my experience with Ms. Stiles at all. I found her to be a highly aggressive, win at all costs, attorney. Her win at all costs game plan almost destroyed my coparenting relationship with my ex. Let's face it, financial issues during a divorce are not easy but they should always be fair and as transparent as possible. I began to see my coparenting relationship deteriorate before my eyes with each strategically crafted correspondence between lawyers. The stress on my children, from the financial battle going on between their parents, was a heartbreaking experience to witness. My decision to finally seek another lawyer was the best decision I ever made. My stress level went down, my divorce got finalized, and I have an amazing coparenting relationship with my ex (I have to wonder if the other reviewers can say the same). I may not have gotten all the money out of my divorce that I possibly could have using Sheila Stiles and her firm, but I've got piece of mind in knowing that my kids will always know that I treated my ex with respect and fairness during a really difficult time.
