Jason was absolutely incredible. Not only is he an extremely good attorney, but he has a unique skill. He can read people with an uncanny accuracy. I told him my situation and he asked some questions about my wife (now ex-wife). I answered candidly. He immediately developed a strategy, based not only upon the facts of our situation, but also upon his reading of my wife. After speaking with my then wife's attorney, Jason sized him up within minutes and further refined our strategy. His assessment was spot on. He told me exactly what we would do and accurately predicted their response. The entire case played out exactly how he said it would. I can not overstate how valuable his ability to read people is. Although I hated getting a divorce, I am thankful that I had Jason as my attorney.

I went in to consult with Lindsay after a very difficult breakup with the father of my child. I was in need of his services in a short amount of time but Lindsay took his knowledge and found a way for it to work. He was caring enough to provide me with other options even if those options meant referring me to another attorney. Through out the time he worked on my case he was very easy to talk to and very quick to respond to all my questions. He was always very honest when answering my questions. I appreciated that because it allowed to me to feel confident and secure during the process. Lindsay, showed understanding and empathy to my specific situation. I can tell he has a heart for the job that he does. I would defiantly recommend him as a lawyer and would use him again if needed in the future.

Where my previous attorney was inaccessible, made major errors and wasted my entire retainer in little over a month, Caryn was always quick with a response and reasonable with her fees while providing amazing representation. Do not use this law firm. I was promised by Mrs Bianca Pacheco-Mayberry that her and this law firm would accomplish 90% of what I am asking them to accomplish with my $4000 retainer fee. After paying the retainer fee she stopped all correspondence with me. I found out she left to another law firm by being appointed to Mr Brian Morgan. He starts off by designing 4 parenting plans that do not work for me due to my work schedule, I called him out on it, he said that is not how it works & you will not receive any such credit. Then I find out he is contacting my ex asking her advise on what she would agree to. I asked him who is he working for? He literally squandered almost $6000 from me, a broke single divorced father of 4 children. He then demands an additional $5000 to continue my case with no guarantee I would actually end up with more time with my children. Which I believe was his easy way out of my case so he could leave this firm as well to go to his new job at another firm. I was told by Mandi Philpott in the fee agreement I signed states "Attorney does not assure a particular result or outcome of any disputed matter" Attorney fees are earned regardless of outcome of this matter. Which I believe gives them the right to squander any and all money from any client, which is exactly what they did to me. I believe that if lawyers were paid on performance, they would all be broke! Specially this law firm! I went with this law firm because of their "Success Stories." After my experience I can not believe any of them are truthful!

This group of attorneys is completely incompetent. I tried to hire them to modify a judgment. They told me there's nothing they can do and hire attorney in a different state. I already have an attorney in a different state and they say I need one here to modify the oregon judgment. I would definitely not recommend this group of attorneys. In my opinion they know absolutely nothing about family law

I have hired James and met with James for consolations/advice for nearly 15 years now. I no longer live in the Portland area and I will call him first before asking any attorneys in my area. I truly trust him. He has the experience to show his worth but he also has the heart and genuinely cares for your situation. He still remembers things from 15 years ago about my case. Brett counseled me prior to and during all of my divorce proceedings. He was great at helping me understand what was vital versus minutiae when it came to finalizing the parenting plan and divorce decree. He was prepared and also had me prepared with all of my financial, business, and personal documents needed for the mediation.
He had a great relationship with the mediator we used and knew how to deal with the personality types of my ex and her attorney. Brett has seen pretty much everything in the family law arena and has the humorous stories to prove it and help soothe you when the emotions start to get the worst of you.

This lady shouldn't be a lawyer. She couldn't have worked harder to get me slammed up State in prison for 45 months. Witch was the wrong sentence for the speeding ticket I had. I was totally appalled and the representation that I received. I should have gotten 30 days and gone on with my supervision.She worked her hardest to get me as far away from the probation office, because they know me and get me to the State court house where there wouldn't have been a chance of doing the probation recommendations because those judges only take the DA's recommendations. It was out of control..... she is completely unable to do her job to the best of the clients ability. I can't believe she was going to put me up for almost 4 years for doing 37 in a 30 mph zone.... she needs to go back to McDonald's or taco bell where ever she got her law degree. This clearly is not the field for her....

When you're involved in a highly litigious case involving your children, you are going to want Cambell in your corner. Grant has done a great job handling my divorce over the now two years that it has been going. He is intelligent and direct. He also knows the Hillsboro legal community, which is a great plus.
I give Grant my highest recommendation.
The rest of this review is just general advice on divorce with some comments as they relate to Grant...the stuff I wish someone had told me.
1) Things will go bad in the divorce. I don't care what you are saying to yourself right now. They will go bad. I promise. Get a lawyer right now if you can afford it.
2) Remember that lawyers get paid by the hour. Don't waste time telling them how much of a jerk your spouse is. They know. Just treat it like a business contract that went bad. The more emotional you are the worse the mistakes you are going to make. All that stuff is better done in mediation.
3) Get self counseling. I know that you believe that your spouse is the one with the problem. You are likely correct. But there are still insights that you can gain. Do you know why you picked the person you did? Do you know what you don't want in the future? Do you know what's best in terms of parenting time and your behavior around your ex? Maybe you do, but this is another thing I can only promise will help you.
4) Don't argue with your lawyer. You are probably wrong and they are probably right. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't question things you don't understand and also "trust but verify". Still, you are not, whether you know it or not, in the best mental condition. Grant, as well as any good lawyer has a much better perspective on the case than you do. Help them.
5) If you have assets over, let's say 50K, buy yourself an accountant. Believe me. They are very cheap compared to the expense every time the lawyer on the other side is confused. Grant is pretty good at accounting. However, don't assume that lawyers know anything about finances. The accountant can also talk in terms that your lawyer understands and can clarify much better than you can. They can also testify, if need be, to explain things to the judge.
6) Your lawyer is on your side. If he says something you don't like, well maybe its something you need to hear. Talk with him and treat him as if you are a team working for a common cause.
7) Always be the "good guy". Treat everyone with respect, be honest with the other side including admitting when you make a mistake. The process understands that no one is perfect. If you show you are trying your best to be fair and civil you will really do much better.
8) Oh, one last thing: Don't worry about how much a lawyer charges per hour. Why not? Well frankly you will rack up thousands of dollars in legal costs except for the most trivial of divorce. So, let's say you have a great lawyer that charges $250/hour and the crappiest one who was at the bottom of his class charges you $150. Yes, that's a big difference, but you get what you pay for. Seriously, not all lawyers are good...some are down-right crappy. So don't pick one only based on price.
9) Whoops, one final thing: Pay your lawyer NO MATTER WHAT. Money will be tight, but the last thing you want is for your lawyer to be worried if he is going to get paid or not. Imagine wondering if you will get paid at your job every week...a real demotivator! Work out what you need to do..talk to them if you can't pay, but always pay.
Good luck. It is a long road, but it does get better and there is an end.

He doesn’t care! He sees dollar signs and tells me I should sue my past attorney for what she failed to include in my divorce. Doesn’t even want to look at the bank statements and my husbands Quicken account with my son’s savings account numbers, and my account numbers, set for download and transfer… which he did. He doesn’t care that my husband abused and stole from my kids and I, prior to our marriage. This attorney is book smart. Immature at life. Talks down to me as if I’m a child; I’m at least twice his senior. Arrogant firm; arrogant attorney.

David was accessable when I needed a question answered by phone, email and text. And when busy, he always got back to me in a reasonable time. I would suggest looking elsewhere! There are plenty of other GOOD attorneys out there. This is not one of them. Hired his services, and did nothing but put me in a hole of 5 mo. Couldn't remember my file, then charges you to re-review and consult. Never requested the Discovery from opposing counsel in 5mo time. Never special set our hearing, since most if not all divorces take 5hrs to litigate. So left this as an assigned trial which could and would be a continued roller-coaster of delays even getting a judge scheduled for 5 hrs in Multnomah County. Never relayed any information that should have been given to opposing counsel, asked if I was seeking retribution for being upset based on the opposing counsel parenting plan (very limited access to kids for no reason) which any judge would deny (verified this with another attorney) and then up and quit the firm at Goldberg Jones. Asking if I want to retain and asked for an addition $10K retainer. Ha! If you want to be dug into a hole than what is already a bad situation, then Hank is for you.

Hank without a doubt search the bar when it comes to being an advocate for fathers and men. My custody battle took two years due to the courts jerking us around. Hank never quit and fought tirelessly to and sure I got what I wanted. After a year and a half my ex finally signed over what I wanted, butwhen the courts decided to sit on the paperwork for almost a year they came back saying signatures were too old and we had to go to court. Then my ex refused to sign the papers. He never stopped fighting and standing up for me with the courts along with my ex. Every step of the way he had open communication with me, kept me in the loop every second, and when my head was spinning and stressing me out he always calmed me down and made sure I was thinking straight.
Hank doesn’t treat you like a client, you’re not just a number to him, he treats you like a friend. He looks out for you to make sure you are protected and make sure you are doing good. I hired Michael upon making the decision to leave a very devious partner. I knew the divorce and related custody, support and parenting plan issues would be likely result in a long and trying process. I attempted four times, to get my case herd. Spoke with first lady that was headed off to vacation. She let me no that she will pass my message off to lady on the next Monday. Asking a few times if it made since, if she got enough info for me to have to wait three days for someone to contact me.. Never happened..I called again, this lady didn't see the notes taken, asked me to explain.. once again as I am in need of help, says I'll call you tomorrow, never did. I call again, an tried connecting online twice at this point.. Fourth call I have to explain situation to be relayed to someone who might have time to hear her as soon as he was free to do so, to expect a call in morning if not that day. Don't not hear a word back as I truly needed the direction or even a simple no but maybe try this person. Kinda made me feel unjusted as I still do, still can't seem to say the right words to have a lawyer call me back for a true consultation. By the reviews I see a great group of people ... I just need a direction please

I was more than surprised that Avvo did NOT post my prior review although it was factual, specific. Especially since there are virtually no reviews on this attorney.
Specifically, I spent 60% of my entire cost of divorce with Albert and made virtually no tangible progress toward any of the steps required to actually get divorced. Except for initial meetings with opposing counsel that produced no progress at all, we never got close to discovery, settlement conferences, mediation or, of course, court. I had to leave the firm due to the lack of progress in relation to a very large fee, $550 an hour at the time I employed the firm. What's more, Albert insisted that it was "cost effective" to have his paralegal in every meeting with him, adding nearly $200 more an hour. It was not cost effective. I ultimately had to leave the firm due to very little progress in relation to a very large legal bill. The attorney I transferred to was a 5* rated Martindale and Hubbell attorney who took me all the way through divorce with a satisfactory result for 40% of the fee paid to Albert's firm with very little progress. When I left, I asked if I might employ Albert if necessary as a consultant in settlement negotiation having had no experience with the new law firm. Albert said, "no." I felt it was spiteful in relation to my leaving the firm. I said in my last review and will say again, Albert did boast about his accomplishments in my time with him and in a meeting with opposing counsel. I thought this inappropriate, especially on my dollar. Albert is certainly a competent attorney. I feel, however, that there are many attorneys as competent at a far lower fee and I actually believe I got a better outcome with the new firm at a dramatically lower cost. I say I believe I got a better outcome because my result was better than the result Albert was preparing me for.

Erin is wonderful. I went through a very lengthy, messy, and litigious divorce and hired multiple lawyers. I wish I had Erin representing me the entire time. I would have likely not had to go through many of the additional and unnecessary court cases as she would have gotten the divorce agreement right from the beginning. When going through this process it is important to have someone who will guide you appropriately and actually care about the outcome for you- not just the amount they are able to charge you for erroneous court cases. Erin will walk you through your options and guide you through the process. While we did try to avoid court, it was impossible with the other involved party. Erin is thorough and tough and gets the job done. In my case our outcome couldn't have been better and I truly believe it is because I had Erin and her team representing me.

Kaori is a great lawyer and worked really hard on my behalf when I was getting a divorce. I had met 3-4 other lawyers before her and felt like she was the only one that really cared and listened intently when we met.
