If you need a Child Custody lawyer then save your money and go else where. My lawyer was Joshua Polk. He only took thousands of dollars from me with nothing in return. You can never get ahold of him. I went a whole year with no call back. Went to the office and got no where. I would have went with a different lawyer but I had so much money tied up with him and I was a single mother I couldn’t afford to do that again. Finally almost two years of being ignored he finished my case. Only to have paperwork done that I didn’t agree with. Still in the same boat I was 5 years ago! My babies father doesn’t pay child support and all I got thousands of dollars later was a piece of paper that I don’t agree with. Just save yourself and get you a good hearted lawyer that wants to help you and not just after the $$$. I know they might be hard to find but save your money and don’t use Mr. Joshua Polk. I usually don’t write reviews but don’t want someone to go through what I went through!

Mr. Lee Brooks handled my divorce flawlessly. He advised me of the likely outcome and had a backup plan just in case. (Thankfully the backup plan was not needed.) His fees and timetable for the case were as advertised – no surprises there. Divorce is never a pleasant experience but Lee made the legal part tolerable. If you are looking for an honest, compassionate, and highly competent lawyer, Mr. Brooks is the person you are looking for.

Can't get anyone to call or email me back while trying to set up a consult. I've talked to two people there and both times I was told I'd be contacted within two business days and neither time did anyone follow up. My first contact was 3+ weeks ago. The second lady I talked to didn't even try to get my contact info before trying to rush me off the phone. I had to stop her before she hung up to get her to take it, to which she sounded rather annoyed.

BEWARE! Ms. Buck was very kind during our initial consult and rushed us to begin the paperwork. We paid a $1500 retainer and made special arrangements to sign paperwork. Once the fee was paid the kindness stopped! I called 5 days later and many times after only to be met with Nancy (Misty Bucks assistant) being rude and raising her voice to me because I asked why paperwork had not been filed with the court.
I gave them another chance after I was assured the paperwork would be filed only to find 5 days later that the paperwork was still in their office and not filed with the court. I found my way to their office to get my retainer back and find a reason for the failure only to receive more unprofessional behavior from Nancy who guarded her conversation with Ms.Buck & finally received a pathetic apology from only Nancy while Ms. Buck sat in her office only a few steps away.
In my short time there I witnessed Nancy discuss clients and make openly rude comments about them as well. I should have taken this behavior as a sign but thought she was having a bad day only to hear her do the same thing again today.
Contacted another attorney after my experience only to find out this is common occurrence within Ms. Bucks office.

On 10-20-2021, I paid the $250.00 consultation fee(up front b4 meeting). I still have the cleared check receipt. I and a family member, meet with him for about 1 hr & discussed the property deed work which I needed. He said he would have deed prepared & ready to sign within 7 days. After said timeframe, I called office, spoke to lady & the deed was not ready, lady said would be ready the next week. Another week went by & I called office again. Deed not ready. Left message for him with the lady answering the phone, requesting call back about when this deed would be prepared. No response. I made several more attempts to contact him but received no call back or document. I gave up & realized I was not going to get the promised legal document in this situation. I paid a retainer to settle a minor right of way dispute. He said we would have this done in six months or less. It's been 3 years and I still can't get a return call. He has told us several times that he was going to get a court date and that he was going to send letters to their attorney and that he would call us. I have no copies to show for any of the letters despite requests and promises that he would provide them. But never have we gotten anything.
He has looked me in the eye while shaking my hand saying he would do something first thing in the morning and wouldn't hear from or get a response to inquiries for 6 or more weeks at a time.
I should have done a better job of vetting him then I did.
I read he has been disciplined by the state licensing body.

Ms. Crawford was my attorney in a divorce case. She belittled me any time I had questions. I should have stopped right there, but had spent so much money, I felt that I couldn't afford to. I hired this attorney to handle my divorce a few years ago. I paid her $4000 up front. I told her exactly what we wanted to do and could she please file my divorce for me. She did nothing for 6 months and when she finally sent over my MDA, it was completely inaccurate and not at all what we had discussed. She did not listen to anything I had to say and literally tried to get me to do things to drag my case on so she could charge more fees. Her communication was horrible. I eventually fired her and lost all my money. I had to hire someone else who also charged me $2000. Ms. Byrd even sent a bill after I fired her to collect for a copying fee for my records which I gave her at the beginning. Do not waste your time with this attorney. All she cares about is taking your money.

Mr. Nichols had committed Assault and Battery on my my son and me and in my strong opinion he needs to lose his license, be in jail, and be forced to take anger management classes. By Judge's directions we went to Mr. Nichols office to drop off documents that he refused to accept in the Court in front of the Judge and other people. The video link clearly shows his reckless behavior which most people would be arrested for doing. I wish I would have known of this site & had seen the review from someone else May 2021.
EXTREMELY disappointed with this lawyer and his lack of assistance as Veterans Benefits Aid Counsel. We received a "positive" opinion, which required payment, May 2022.
After the VA Department requested more information in Nov 2022, we were advised by Mr. Fincher's associates, that no additional forms nor more information was required of us. Subsequently, our claim was DENIED by Veterans Affair Department Feb. 2023.
Numerous phone calls and emails have not been returned by Mr. Fincher or his associates to find out what additional assistance they would be providing to jump through the VA "hoops" or to appeal.
The conclusion we have drawn is he cashed the check and that was it.
He and his teams lack of service or response has been extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend him at all.

On 6.15.21 I hired Ashley to handle the adoption of my grandson that I already had legal guardianship of. I know she sent a processor in 11.21 to find the bio-father to sign over custody. From that point on she didn't do anything else on my case until I filed a complaint with the State board. Finally on 1.19.23 we went to court and she didn't have the proper paperwork. I didn't hear from her again until I hired another lawyer to finish what she started. On 3.8 she called said she was on her way to court to have the judge sign and pick up my certified copies to mail to me. I've reached out several times and as of today, 4.3.23 I still haven't gotten my copies of the adoption. Please...don't use this attorney!

Ashley was truly a god send to our family! When our private adoption got a little sticky and the hospital was doing/saying conflicting things to the birth mother, whom had made her choice of a private adoption and chose my husband and I, Ashley truly went to bat for us! In the most respectful, tactful, but productive way she contacted the appropriate hospital attorneys and authority's to make sure our sons custody arrangement and his safety, best interest, and well-being was the number one thing everyone focused on. When our son was three days old and in the NICU, Ashley was able to meet with a judge to get us emergency custody of our son, per the birth parents wishes, so we could make appropriate medical decisions for him, visit him, and begin to bond with him before bringing him home from the hospital. Throughout our entire adoption process, Ashley made sure we were informed, prepared, and also had everything done exactly as needed for the legal side of this adoption. Our case was very unusual and we always had a million questions, emailed her pretty much weekly, spoke on the phone often, and visited her in the office with our son and no matter how many times she had answered the question before, she always explained things to us again. Aside from being an amazing attorney, who communicated often with us and kept us in the loop of where we were at in the filing process, she always showed us that she truly cared. She took interest in our personal story, why we were adopted, and she truly loves our son and he loves her even more. Any time we saw her, he was reaching for her. I’m not sure that without Ashley’s tenacity, tact, strength, and persistence that we would have our son; seeing as the hospital had some conflicting thoughts when he was born and until he was three days old. My husband and I cannot speak more highly of Ashley (and everyone At the Barnett Firm) as they truly fought not only for us, but with us to become parents. There will never be enough thanks and praise to show and tell her!

My ex and I split up and I tried to work out things and be amicable, but you know some people everything fight. That's what this was a fight. Unlike the 2 other reviews for me, John was a bulldog. He made sure I got the agreement I wanted and nothing that I did not. He kept me informed, emailed me consistently, and scheduled appointments around my schedule. Then when my ex refused to pay child support he fought in court to ensure I did. After the judge revoked his visitation I was sued by his parents for grandparents rights. I was angry and of course sad because I felt wronged by his family. After fighting that John was honest with me that we were going to win, but did I want that, for my child? Did I want my bitterness to impact his life? Those aren't his words of course they're mine, but he made me realize that my inlaws weren't the problem, my ex was and they did kick him out of their house when they found out he was using which was my issue all along. So I called my mother-in-law, we cried, and we worked it out. Most lawyers may not have been so blunt, but it saved my relationship with them. Although my ex is not around I am still close to my inlaws, even since I've remarried. He was on top of it for me and I'd hire him again if the need arose.

I have worked with a few attorneys over the past 15 years. I worked for a law firm when I was in school. I've seen good attorneys and I've seen pathetic ones. No one is perfect, so I offer this review with an open mind.
When I first hired Ms. Clayton, she was on top of things and represented me very well. As time passed, she stopped returning my calls and emails. Her office was quick to send me a bill, but when I paid my retainers in lump sums it seemed that my account balance statements were lost in the mail. To this day, I can't even obtain an account balance (2 years later).
I was a model client. I always paid up front and never missed a payment. I'm not sure what happened, but she fizzled out and now I have to look for new counsel. It's unfortunate, too, because I worked a second job in order to afford Ms. Clayton's rates.
What do I have to show for it? Nothing. If you want nothing, then hire her.

Update 29Jul: I am a client of Paisley Anderson (Fendley & Etson) and am going through a divorce. Throughout this process I have struggled to get communication from my attorney despite numerous emails and phone calls. I discovered from my husbands attorney that he had been requesting information from my attorney with no response for 4+ weeks. When I asked my attorney about it, she claimed she had never received anything but nonchalantly asked for the very information the other attorney had been requesting "just in case he asked for it." I sent the email proof that he had requested it and that she was being dishonest but received no response and still don't know if the information was forwarded (it has been 3 weeks). I have been incessantly harassed and threatened by my husband and am in such fear for my family that the military has opened a Criminal Investigative Division (CID) case and issued a military protective order because I cannot get my attorney, nor the named partner, to respond to my emails or phone calls.
Update 31Jul: I still have not heard back from my attorney, Paisley Anderson. I was told two days ago that the named partner, Mr. Fendley, would be calling me but have not heard from him. When I called the firm again I was told that no other attorney could help me. It has been 12 days since I notified Paisley that I had to call the cops and CID on my husband and I needed help in enforcing the restraining order he was under due to stalking. First off, there was a serious communication problem. I never knew what was going on in my case and this caused me a lot of anxiety. I would wait weeks with no update and then ask and get ignored. This went on forever. I was so angry.
Then he was incompetent. He had me do the same paperwork about 4 times because he kept losing it. Then we we finally got our first court day (after a year of waiting) he forgot some more important paperwork and we left with nothing done. To this day, another year later im still trying to get this done and he still remains ever uncommunicative and incompetent.
