Without going into too much detail about what I was being accused of, my case was a life changing one. I was being accused of one of the worst things human being can be accused of. I did a ton of research on top attorneys in San Antonio and what they’re success rates were. I interviewed about 6 attorneys and Don was the last one that I interviewed. One of the first things that I noticed about Don was his passion and energy for what he does. Within a few minutes he was asking questions that nobody else had asked me, he immediately dove into the details and began to tear it apart. WOW! I knew immediately that he was the one. Don is on a different level compared to all the other attorneys I had spoken with. He’s one of those attorneys that’s not scared to go to trial and he tells it exactly how it is. One of the best ways to visualize how I felt about Don was like having a Pit bull on my side. He was relentless with the details and the facts of this case and he never let me down. He brought in all the right people that included private detectives, experts and even other attorneys for advice. I’ve never met anyone like Don and I truly feel in my heart that I’d be sitting in prison right now if it wasn’t for him.

Fantastic job by John Hunter Smith! He was very attentive to my situation, and constructed our defense based on wrong doings of the arresting officer. He knew the rules of the sobriety test better than she did, and pointed out areas where she went wrong, and pointed out where she was trying to trick me into saying something wrong. He reviewed the body cam video and her report many times to pick up discrepancies between what happened and what she said happened.
I was extremely pleased with John and an overall good guy, as well.
All 6 jurors came back not guilty! Thanks, John!

John Hunter Smith was a beacon of hope to my family at a time when our options appeared limited and the likelihood of a satisfactory resolution looked impossible during a Inappropriate Student/Teacher Relationship charge. We had never had to hire an attorney, and was unsure of what to do. He treated us like his own family and walked us through every step.

Roy Scott is the worst attorney, people do not hire him..yes him and his assistant Debbie will make promise over promise and they can be talking for so long on any questions you might have but as soon as you give them the payment they’re couple of millions they charge they won’t answer u again and if you call to the office the secretary just tells you he is not available and after calling so many times she just hangs up and if you call again she won’t answer cause they have caller ID the worst persons don’t ever think they will help on any type of case he is too old and can’t even hear what the judge or anybody present at court is saying he is not capable anymore he is a very old man

I had a minor case that started in March for which I then hired Roy Scott to represent me. He charged me $2000 and told me he would begin working on the case and provide updates. It’s December now and Roy Scott and his paralegals have ghosted me at every chance that I tried to reach out for an update.
Due to a lack of updates from Mr. Scott I believe I’m justified in feeling cheated out of my legal fee. Perhaps Mr. Scott doesn’t prioritize all his client equally, which I understand since he’s running a business, but that doesn’t excuse the deplorable attention that I think my case has received.
In all honesty, it’s lamentable that I have to make this post at all. I’ve been a kid that has wanted to be an attorney his whole life and now seeing how some attorneys value their clients, makes me want become a lawyer that will treat clients less as checks and more as people.

Our family found ourselves in a very difficult situation a couple of years ago and we had no idea what to do. Unfortunately, I have to click on at least one star to be able to post this, and even that is more than undeserved. In short - move on, look elsewhere. These human beings will destroy you mentally and emotionally. There are truly genuine attorneys out there and this law firm IS NOT ONE OF THEM.....Vickers Cunningham thought it was wise to show up to our family member's first hearing having not reviewed the entire case information, having not taking the time to have a conversation with her to get to know her and what he was representing, and filing for a form of relief that he knew (or should of known "being a judge") that she did not qualify for. He waisted precious time and never truly fought for us. Initially, all legal advice was communicated to us through his paralegal, Rose Flores, who never shied away from being unprofessional, unkind, rude, and heartless. We were desperate. Prior to meeting with these people, we had read reviews on them regarding racial controversies and unprofessionalism and we were so vulnerable that we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt - all because Rose said what we wanted to hear, not knowing we were really signing for what would come next - disheartening emotional and mental stress coming from unprofessionalism, being spoken to like we were uneducated, meaningless human beings, being unable to get questions truly and genuinely answered with patience, and being ultimately betrayed. We only thought we knew what the true meaning of an emotional roller coaster was until we dealt with these people, then we really knew. Rose played out every scenario and nothing she said was. She spoke as she knew the ins and outs. The truth is - they never had the knowledge enough to deal with our case. Our family member's case was a very tough one - that we knew. But had they just had the professionalism, the humanity, and the kind hearts to say "this is beyond our expertise", we would have respected them and had searched elsewhere. Many other attorneys told me it was a case they knew they could not deal with. Rose said - "we do this everyday". And then they went into the hearing clueless, unprepared, and applying for a relief she never was going to qualify for - so did they truly do it every day?...I would never wish bad upon these people despite all the hurt they caused our family and all they ripped away from us financially, mentally and emotionally, but I hope that they learn from their mistakes and strive to become better human beings....God wasn't going to let what they put us through be the end of our story - our attorney to follow stepped right in, being God sent. She was extremely knowledgeable, caring, passionate, genuine with a true fighting spirit. Mr Vickers ended his last conversation with my family member in saying there was nothing he could do for her, she would have to hope that she was granted a voluntary departure and when she asked him if "this meant she could never return to her children again", he responded with "If Joe Biden wins...". They had our case for 6 weeks and accomplished nothing but heartaches. Our attorney now had the case 6 weeks and fought and won in 2 different county courts for us, a criminal and an immigration case. Today - we have our family member home and in an even better legal position than she ever was. All this to say - Vickers and Rose destroyed our trust in attorneys, but God sent the right person to fight for us, to win, and to restore our hope and trust. If you do hire these people and they destroy you (I hope it's not the case), don't give up!! Someone out there can and will fight for you!!
