These people are scammers beware, "representing" these corrupted collection companies who buy liens off of towing companies and try to collect payment from whoever shows is the registered owner of the vehicle at the time, they don't even do research or get their facts straight, just try to take advantage of people that will let them. That's why they don't even put their real contact information on their fake letters. Stop pretending you are a legit lawyer you lowlifes.

Horrible disgusting place. 1st of all the front desk people have horrible customer service Hang up on you after leaving on hold for 30 minutes and then when you call back no answer. I don't know how these people can't even have a job at the courthouse when they are clueless of their job description. They work very unprofessional including the supervisors. I actually have to go all the way over there and called from the outside and noticed the secretary picking up and hanging up the phone calls. Shame on you people! To Top it off they dropped the charges from felony to misdemeanor to an idiot who almost killed me and was on the run for almost 2 years. Great job guys that's why California is going down the drain thanks to all the corruption.

All went as well as possible for my jury duty service. I have always been assigned Torrance and was apprehensive to be in Compton. Upon leaving, this 75 ish old man berated me. The attendant in the garage said he was an attorney. He was driving a grey Toyota myata that must belong to his grandson. It is cold and overcast here by the ocean today.; however, he had the top down. The attendant said he was an attorney. Silver grey haired man yelled me that I should have my drivers license revoked because I waiting for the car in front of me to finish with the attendant. He pulled around me and went through a red light when he saw I had a camera! WOW, more people are displaying Trumpush behaviors. Beware of white men with serious temper issues. TRIPLE BEWARE!!! Stay far away from this guy! He did nothing but bs about how fantastic and successful he was at wrongful terminations and sexual discrimination, only to fold at every turn of our suit. He did absolutely nothing but take what little money we had and made us look and feel like fools. If it appears to him he might actually have to work, (We did all our work for him and he would try to charge us for that), he shuts down leaving you to defend yourself from the oncoming lawyers. He is very arrogant, unprofessional and was a BIG BULLY toward us! PLease search harder and find the right person for the job... never Daniel Ray Bacon!!!!!!

BEWARE!!!! Our family hired Daniel Ray Bacon for a dispute over a trust. It turns out that Bacon does not handle this area of law but took our case boasting about how versed he was. Bacon strings you along, promising that your case is really strong. He bills you for subpoenas, depositions, all the while stating he's gathering "evidence." His depositions clearly show he's grasping for straws and unprepared. His plan from the get-go is to bill, bill, bill and urge you to settle before any trial can occur, because that is where his flawed work as an attorney all comes out. We eventually left Bacon after one year and about $100,000 in legal fees. It was our mistake picking Bacon. After finding a real expert in trust law, we realized that Bacon wasn't even fighting the right battles. There were fundamental errors made by Bacon which showed he was oblivious to trust law. In fact, based on the manner of how he conducts his deposition, I'm flabbergasted that he had enough competence to pass the state BAR. Bacon is downright incompetent. For example, Bacon assumed that assets in the trust were properly deeded to the trust when all the while, they were left in the name of the trustor. He failed to realize this. Once brought to his attention, he stated that it was not an issue which it turned out to be. Bacon was fighting for a trust that was never properly funded to begin with and never saw this huge problem. Google Bacon in the California BAR and you will find adverse action was taken on him previously. He was "suspended for one year, stayed, placed on two years of probation with an actual 60-day suspension, and was ordered to take the MPRE within one year." This man is downright dangerous, stay away! He will hurt your pocket book, but worse, he will hurt you while you are involved in a lawsuit. Bacon is best described as the quintessential lawyer that our society loves to hate.

Twice Mr. Bacon has served us very well. First, in my wife's discrimination case, he was able to negotiate a fair settlement in a timely manner. Second, in my wrongful termination case, while up against a gang of vicious lawyers, inept or prejudiced state officials, and a thoroughly biased judicial system, over a three year period he was able to keep my case alive and in the end negotiate a settlement.

We hired Mr. McElfish to evaluate corporate tax issues. We explained that we were on a rigid timeline in order to make decisions concerning an impending liquidity event. He boasted about how socially connected he is. The work product did not address our specific concerns and the tax conclusions were dubious. A significant retainer was eaten up without explanations. Access to McElfish was also difficult.

He was difficult to talk to and seemed unwilling to explain things to me and really defend me. When the plaintiffs dismissed the case, he emailed me the notice of dismissal and even though I still had a remaining retainer balance, no one at the firm would talk to me (I'm 400 miles away). I basically paid $1855 for this guy to file some paper work and talk to the opposing lawyers a couple of times. He was paid every cent but I feel that because he knew that I was not made of money that he just wanted the case to end like it did which was not looking out for my best interests (the dismissal did not help me). This may be how most attorneys operate but it is not right and if people accept this kind of treatment and do nothing then we are in trouble. I wrote him a respectful letter describing my dissatisfaction and of course have not received a reply.

I came here to review Ms. Reinhold after some time because the encounter still leaves a bitter taste and was not surprised to see a similar review from someone else. Reinhold was brought in by my union to assist with a grievance. Despite my 5-star performance I was targeted by colleagues who falsified performance reviews to get rid of me because I had been a bit too vocal about some wrong-doing I'd seen at my job. At first, Reinhold herself had asked me to compile that information about the wrong-doing and whistle blowing part of the grievance. But as the process dragged on, at a later meeting when I brought it up and asked her if they were going to include the SLAPP aspect of the grievance, she yelled at me to drop it, and literally yelled at me saying "the union owes you nothing." Well, that came as a surprise because I thought the union was obligated to help me with the grievance. I'd paid my dues since day one. I ended up getting an outside attorney (on my dime) who I credit as the only reason I had a positive outcome. Had it not been for his calm guidance and support, I believe I'd not gotten anything. I'm now working at a new place with the 5-star performance reviews I actually earn and am a leader at that establishment. Living in fear for all those months when Reinhold was supposedly my only hope (until I got my own attorney) was one of the lowest points of my life. I know I wouldn't have achieved the same outcome had I only relied on her and the union. If you're reading this, you likely have no choice that she's "your" attorney (read the other person's review) and she's probably been foisted on you by your union. If that's the case, I recommend getting your own attorney.

Ms. Reinhold is an attorney contracted by CTA to help teaching unit members. When I was facing dismissal proceedings, one of the first thing that Marianne told me was that she represented the Union. I thought that the Union retained her to represent me. I am the Union. Ms. Reinhold never acted in my best interest during my proceedings in my opinion. Ms. Reinhold did not admit exculpatory information into evidence. Ms. Reinhold referred to the evidence that I gave to her as "junk". I filed my appeal in Pro Per. I had to write my own petition for Writ of Administrative Mandamus. I seriously doubt she would have operated in this manner with her clients from the Teamster's Union. Ms. Reinhold has violated the rules of ethics as mandated in California Government Code 3-700, § D 1, as she is attempting to charge me $.20 per page for a client file which is mine, and I have been acting as my own attorney. I would never recommend Attorney Reinhold to anyone.

Beware if considering this attorney. She will take your money and run! Paid her and never heard from her again. She had some stranger attorney sub in for her. Never even tells clients she’s will be a no show to court. Never returned calls or emails. She didn’t even have the profession courtesy of handing over court file to new attorney. Just disappeared. I have never in my life known an attorney to be so unprofessional. I can’t believe she gets away with doing this to clients that are in such vulnerable positions. Claims she’s for the people she serves.....she’s just there for her pocketbook. Beware!!!

This lawyer represented me in a medical malpractice case. He was the most unprofessional attorney and appeared to side with the other side during our depositions. He was unsupportive of me and was always late to appointments or wouldn't show up at all. He was negligent to the point that he neglected to file papers on my behalf and missed a deadline which made me lose my case. I ended up suing him and his legal malpractice carrier settled with me. I would never. Working with him was one of the most frustrating and negative experiences of my life.

I hired Andy Turner of the law firm Lagerlof, Senecal, Gosney & Kruse in Pasadena to handle a dispute that I had with my neighbor and his insurance company. For over a year I spent many hours emailing, texting and calling Mr. Turner attempting to get updates on how the case was going. On almost every occasion it took several days to reach him. When he finally did respond it was one excuse after another as to why there was no movement in the case. While little progress was made during the time he handled the case Mr. Turner billed me for more than $15,000 (which I promptly paid) and then he quit when I refused to accept a settlement with terms he agreed to without consulting with me. I reached out to several lawyers who reviewed the case and the attorney I ended up hiring was quite adamant that Mr. Turner made several rookie mistakes. He said with the evidence and paperwork I had provided Turner he should have been able to settle the case within months for more than the amount I was demanding. Andy Turner's ignorance of the law almost caused me to miss a crucial filing deadline that my new attorney caught and dealt with. My new attorney, who unlike Turner has the highest AVVO rating, settled the case in 3 months and charged me the cost of filing the lawsuit and administrative fees. A grand total of $1000. $14,000 less than Turner billed me for accomplishing nothing and quitting the case. I can say, first hand, that Mr. Turner's low AVVO rating is well deserved. Had I taken his AVVO rating into account I never would have hired him and I caution anyone who considers hiring him to think again. I plan to file a complaint with the California Bar Association.

I am not bitter with the situation, I just want people to know what happened in my case before they hire him on retainer. Everything in this review is what happened in the case that he represented me for.Kevin represented me in a criminal matter. He was helpful with getting me in to a program which I truly am grateful for. However, when I hired him for a second time, I was misinformed by him and paid the price for it. (I did break the law and deserved punishment.) . But with his guidance, I did not do what I was obligated to do by probation. He instructed me to keep quiet and not tell probation what had happened. I trusted his judgment and did what he said only to have it come back at me as an additional violation. I have been on probation for 2 1/2 years and had no violations. I admit, I messed up and I'm not blaming kevin, and I was violated. My first violation was maxed out- 1 year in county jail. You can do the research, most if not all 1st violations are 90 days for the same violation that I did. Once in front of that judge in C58, the violation court room, I had him represent me again, hoping he could clear up the miscommunication. He simply did not know how that courtroom operates. He was warned by the DA "that is not how it works here". He then shushed her and pushed the case to another date and judge and stormed out of the room. Negative words were said about his actions by all the court officials. I'm not a lawyer, but the mood in the room was poor. I thought this was his way of handling the situation and I kept my faith in him. When he came to me with what the penalty was and what my options were, he misguided me again. He told me that I would be getting x amount of credits. When the judge read the sentence, those credits were not included. I looked at him with disbelieve and he assured me that he would get those credits for me and not to worry. Again, I trusted his judgment and believed him. I later found out, that there was no way I could get those credits because I was not going to prison, I was serving county jail time. Another attorney told me that fact and also said, every criminal attorney knows the procedure. Thats not the issue I had with our relationship. I did the crime, I'll do the time. It was exactly what I needed to get my life back on track. The issue I had is this; while I was in jail, my mother was corresponding with Kevin. Her experience was less then professional. When asked about credits, he kept saying "I'll get them, don't worry he will be out in June.... Where is the remaining balance he owes me?" Mind you we have paid him well over $80k over the last couple of yrs. and I owed him less then $1000. After emails to my mother calling her "stupid" and other terrible things, we finally paid him the balance. He came back and said , " oh yeah I can't get him those credits" in June, after months of him saying" it's just paperwork I need to file" I am not bitter at the situation, I do wish he had a little more "bedside manor" when dealing with my mother. After more disrespecting emails, we fired him and hired a new attorney who had me released from jail the following week before my sentence ended. He had a sentence modification done. My new attorney told me that I should never have had to go to jail in the first place. These are truly the facts of what happened. I am not spiteful, or hostile. This is what happened.

I was sent to Mr. Fried for a very simple case. Robert handed the case off to another lawyer at his firm saying that he would “oversee” the case. That lawyer then handed it off to another lawyer saying that “he would oversee the case” That apparently means that you pay for 3 lawyers while nothing happens on the case. They completely botched the case, and apparently had no idea what they were doing. It took them over two months to tender the case to my insurance, in the mean time running up over $30,000 in legal fees for me to pay. Not ethical at all. The new lawyer settled the case in under 5 hours, and wasted neither time nor money. Complete waste of time!

Jack, as he is called, was unprepared and eaten alive in the trial. We lost due to his lack of preparation and knowledge on a personal injury case. My case, as I was told, was a slam dunk. So, he took it on contingency which means if we win he gets a percentage and if we lose he has to pay the cost. Well, we lost and he fought not to pay the bill for years. The doctor who ruined me, had a superb fast talking attorney who convinced the jury that paying money to me would increase their insurance rates. Jack was horrible in trial and he just tried to wing it. Also, he did not suggest some of the tests that should have been performed prior to trial which would have added support to my medical case, ability to pay the bills and loss of insurance. I was rendered unable to have children due to doctor negligence along with many other permanent life problems after a five week stay in the hospital and near death. The trial was an abomination due to John A Girardi.

This man is a horrible lawyer, as far as I’m concerned he is a criminal, and a bully - he billed my family over $80,000 and didn’t fight to present crucial evidence when it came down to the wire.. He is a liar, a megalomaniac, a horrible person, and I would absolutely NOT recommend him unless your willing to waste tens of thousands of dollars to listen to him lecture and insult you while telling you crucial evidence is worthless. He abandoned me twice during hearings he promised to appear for, as he said he would not leave me out to dry - yet abandoned me day of the trials/hearings and I lost horribly due to his malpractice and misrepresentation of his skill set I went in on my own for trial and was ten times more effective than he was in all three years of his representation combined! I will gladly share more information with anyone considering hiring Wallace. Unlike him, I’m not scared to present it. He has threatened to sue me for defamation when he knows he’s failed me as an attorney - the only thing he did well was a deposition - which Yorker a ton of evidence he never presented. This man is a joke and a hot head - do not waste your money or energy depending on him to do the honest Abe ethical thing. Feel free to message me for further detail and evidence. I’m reporting him to the bar and trying to recover the money wasted on this man’s ego.

What a Government Lawyer Can Do for You

A government lawyer specializes in legal issues related to government policies, regulations, and disputes involving public entities. Whether you are a private individual, business, or government agency, a government lawyer provides expert guidance on navigating the complexities of government law. These attorneys handle cases ranging from constitutional law, administrative law, regulatory compliance, and government contracts to defending or challenging government actions.

Government lawyers help individuals and organizations understand their rights and obligations under the law, represent them in disputes with government agencies, and assist in matters of government contracting, procurement, or public policy.

When Should I Hire a Government Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a government lawyer in several situations involving government regulations, compliance, or disputes. Common reasons to hire a government lawyer include:

  • Government contracts and procurement: If you are bidding for or negotiating a contract with a government agency, a lawyer can help ensure compliance with federal, state, or local contracting rules.
  • Regulatory compliance: Businesses operating in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, environmental sectors) often need legal guidance to comply with government regulations and avoid penalties.
  • Government investigations: If you're being investigated by a government agency such as the IRS, SEC, or EPA, a government lawyer can help defend you against allegations or negotiate settlements.
  • Challenging government actions: If a government agency has denied a permit, license, or benefit, a lawyer can help you appeal or challenge the decision in court.
  • Constitutional and civil rights issues: If you believe your constitutional rights have been violated by a government entity, such as in cases involving free speech or discrimination, a government lawyer can help you seek justice.
  • Public policy or lobbying efforts: If you are involved in lobbying or advocating for policy changes at the local, state, or federal level, a government lawyer can provide legal advice on compliance with lobbying laws and strategies for effective advocacy.

Hiring a government lawyer early in the process can help you navigate complex legal frameworks and avoid costly mistakes when dealing with government-related legal issues.

What Does a Government Lawyer Do?

A government lawyer provides a wide range of services that cover interactions between individuals, businesses, and government entities. They can:

  • Assist with government contracts: Helping clients navigate procurement laws, drafting contracts, and resolving disputes related to government contracting.
  • Provide regulatory compliance advice: Offering guidance on meeting regulatory requirements for industries subject to federal, state, or local laws.
  • Handle administrative law matters: Representing clients before government agencies, such as appealing administrative decisions, applying for permits, or defending against regulatory enforcement actions.
  • Challenge or defend government actions: Representing clients in lawsuits involving government agencies, including constitutional challenges, civil rights violations, or disputes over government decisions.
  • Negotiate settlements with government entities: If a government agency is pursuing legal action against you or your business, a lawyer can negotiate settlements to avoid costly litigation.
  • Advocate for policy changes: Advising clients on legal strategies for influencing public policy, including lobbying and drafting legislation.
  • Litigate constitutional issues: Handling cases related to the Constitution, such as First Amendment rights, due process violations, or unlawful government actions.

How Are Government Lawyers Paid?

Government lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the nature of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: For ongoing legal matters, such as regulatory compliance or government contract disputes, lawyers may charge by the hour. Hourly rates can vary depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as drafting a government contract or filing an administrative appeal, some lawyers charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: For clients who need ongoing legal support, such as businesses frequently interacting with government agencies, a lawyer may charge a retainer fee. This is an upfront payment that covers future legal services.
  • Contingency fee: In some cases involving litigation, such as civil rights violations, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case.

It’s important to discuss fee structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Government Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a government lawyer depends on the complexity of the legal issue, the lawyer's experience, and their fee structure. Here are some general cost estimates:

  • Hourly rates: Government lawyers typically charge between $150 and $500 per hour, depending on their experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Flat fees: For specific legal services, such as drafting a government contract, flat fees can range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the nature of the service.
  • Retainer fees: A retainer for ongoing legal work with government agencies can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the scope and frequency of the work.
  • Contingency fees: In cases where a lawyer works on contingency, their fee is usually a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or damages awarded if the case is successful.

Be sure to get a clear estimate of costs during your consultation to ensure that you understand the fees associated with your case.

Top Questions to Ask a Government Lawyer

When hiring a government lawyer, it’s essential to ask the right questions to ensure they have the experience and skills needed for your specific situation. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What is your experience with government law cases?
Make sure the lawyer has substantial experience in handling cases or issues involving government agencies, regulatory compliance, or constitutional law.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Ask how the lawyer charges for their services - whether by the hour, flat fee, retainer, or contingency fee - and request an estimate of costs.
  3. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your legal options and the likelihood of success based on your specific situation.
  4. How do you handle interactions with government agencies?
Ask about their approach to dealing with government entities and their experience with specific agencies relevant to your case (e.g., IRS, EPA, SEC).
  5. Have you handled cases like mine before?
Ask about their experience with similar cases and whether they have achieved favorable outcomes in the past.
  6. Who will handle my case?
Clarify whether the lawyer you are meeting with will personally handle your case or whether junior attorneys or paralegals will do most of the work.

How to Check the Credibility of a Government Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a reputable government lawyer, follow these steps to verify their credentials and reputation:

  • Check state bar association records: Confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice in your state and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Review their professional experience: Look for specific experience in government-related legal issues, such as regulatory compliance, government contracts, or administrative law, on their website or professional profile.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check online reviews and ratings on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to get insight into the lawyer’s reputation and track record.
  • Ask for references: Request references from previous clients who have worked with the lawyer on government-related matters to understand their experience and effectiveness.
  • Check for membership in relevant organizations: Look for memberships in professional organizations such as the American Bar Association's Administrative Law Section or the National Institute of Government Procurement, which can indicate the lawyer’s focus on government law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a government lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant information and documents. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Detailed description of your legal issue: Be prepared to explain your situation, whether it’s a regulatory compliance question, a government contract issue, or a dispute with a government agency.
  • Relevant documents: Bring any paperwork related to your case, such as contracts, permits, letters from government agencies, or notices of investigation.
  • A list of questions: Write down any questions you have about your case, including the legal process, potential outcomes, and costs.
  • Timeline of events: Provide a clear timeline of any relevant events, such as the issuance of government orders or interactions with government agencies.
  • Goals for the outcome: Be ready to discuss what you hope to achieve, whether it’s a favorable settlement, regulatory compliance, or overturning a government decision.

By being organized and prepared, you can help your lawyer understand your situation more quickly and give you the best legal advice moving forward.
