Steve did my bankruptcy filing a few years ago and I was petrified! He handled everything in a professional and timely fashion. He is extremely knowledgeable and continues to answer my questions years later. His staff is a pleasure and I highly recommend him.

My spouse hired this lawyer and filed for bankruptcy on his own, we were going to separate. All the credit cards were listed in the bankruptcy including the two joint cards. The bankruptcy was discharged in 2012, however my credit report shows the accounts as charged off. I have just learned that they now are coming after me even though I do not work. This lawyer never told my husband that this could happen and my credit is now ruined & have been turned down for a job that required using a company credit card because of this. I am beyond furious & frustrated and feeling trapped in this situation. Even if I file for divorce, it will still be on my credit for 7 yrs ruining my chances of a new start. Now I will be forced to file bankruptcy as well. Separate from that, this lawyer was very poor about returning phone calls and providing information. My husband constantly had to ask questions to get specific information. And when the discharge papers came, they were not specific to what debits were discharged. We are still waiting for him to call us back to find out if the two accounts were included & other mistakes made to husband's credit report and that was months ago.

This place is a joke! I'm currently unemployed and about to ship out with the military. I called looking to see if I could set something up that was within my means to pay this down but they said the "creditor" isn't willing to give me the same "deal" as previously stated. I got a letter saying I'm being "sued". I'll challenge it in court, these people never reached out to me when they took over my account. I have a family to provide for and they don't care. See you in court.

She took our case and was sure she could represent us. She talks a great game. Then she stops the ball. Tried to get us to settle for an insulting offer. When I got mad and called her out on it and the promises she made, she tried to say she was just making sure we were still able to fight. In the end, we got screwed. She was too busy increasing her rates and charging us for responding to the other councils emails actually fighting for us! it was a complete waste of 14K.

Hired this attorney and it was the worst mistake I made. He could barely write and email to a judge/another lawyer without me having to review it and make simple changes. As far as our case, he rarely responded to emails and other communications and it was obvious he didn't care about the case at all. When I first hired him he was so positive about the case and how it was so clear cut. But then once he was hire we lost at every turn. Didn't really seem like he knew what he was doing. I would not recommend this attorney to anyone.

This attorney has taken care of the needs my family had and has displayed a level of profound care, professionalism and was approachable and non intimidating during the whole process. Also did not make me feel ashamed and confused as its the case with a few people who had to hire attorneys and has shared their experience with us. As I have researched and met with others. One that I will not mention in Union NJ during a consultation was severely aggressive and condescending for a simple case that required just quick handling. That was an eye opener as to how much abuse of power and plain misguided people in the field, forgetting the oath taking to defend and protect the"innocent and believing in second chances for those who defaulted. ESQ Obuch was compassionate, honest and available and made my family and I feel protected and safe which is the main reason anyone would seek aid from a lawyer.

I am not pleased at all. Tom has dodged me for the past two weeks leaving me lost soon before a courtdate... again. He is seemingly never in his office so I hope he is handling others with more respect and care than I. This is unfortunately not the first time he has avoided a call back from multiple messages left. Time sensitive questions are left unanswered as he is quick to brush off his mistakes one after another with no remorse. He tends to 'forget' to do what has been asked of him and there is no way of reminding him.

Bill Waldman was the attorney that handled a closing for Lakeland bank whom held an SBA loan I had. After closing the deal in December 2020 and wanting to pay off the balance in the first 6 months I sent 3 requests starting in June of 2021 requesting a pay off balance after I had paid down a large amount of the loan. It was not until OCTOBER that he finally got back to me and Fedex me out a demand letter saying I owed almost twice the amount money and I needed to satisfy the loan in 10 days. In addition, he continued to add interest on the loan which I had planned to pay off in full back in June. After a bit of back and forth I had to do his job and correct him on his $70K error because he was asking ME to show him where he had dropped the ball. Makes you a little nervous that these banks have lawyers that represent them and they make such huge errors. I guess this is what you get from K&L Gates LLP.

I FIRST MET MR. PHILIP FEINTUCH 12 YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS HAVING SOME LEGAL ISSUES. I FOUND HIM TO BE VERY PROFESSIONAL, VERY ATTENTIVE AND VERY CONCERNED NOT ONLY ABOUT RESOLVING MY LEGAL MATTERS BUT ALSO VERY PATIENT WITH HIS ANSWERS TO ALL THE QUESTIONS AND DOUBTS. HE WAS VERY CALM AND REASSURING IN STATING MY OPTIONS. HE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE IN ALL ASPECTS OF LAW SINCE HE HAS BEEN IN PRACTICE FOR OVER 55 YEARS. ADDITIONALLY, IF FOR ANY REASON, HE CANNOT HELP YOU, HE WILL TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK FOR AND PROVIDE YOU WITH THE NAME, ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER OF SOMEONE WHO WILL. I HAVE ALWAYS TURNED TO MR. FEINTUCH FOR ALL MY LEGAL ISSUES AND AS USUAL ALWAYS WITH A POSITIVE OR MOST FAVORABLE RESULTS. I HAVE OFTEN REFERRED MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO HIS OFFICE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO IN THE FUTURE.

I learned a valuable lesson never retain an attorney when colleagues with many years working in a court of law with Mr. Drobbin is unwilling to endorse him on this site. It's vital I share my experience because nobody should fall victim to the defendant you have no choice to file judgment and the attorney who is supposed to be representing you ethically and in a professional manner. Soon after retaining Mr.Drobbins. Several red flags became obvious and concerning. I noticed dates and times not appearing on any of his emails I printed to keep a hard copy on file. I must admit. It raised an eyebrow and I was praying the sinking feeling i had was merely paranoia. This guy isn't cheap so i set up a limit from the start to avoid issues later. I would only agree to pay as you go with a final total at the end and I assure you. There was no miscommunication on my part. 2 months after retaining his services. He wanted more money and added additional costs by informing me I had obtain a costly expert. This was upsetting news and unacceptable after he said wasn't required prior my decision to sign his agreement. As quickly as he promised and i signed his contract. I was trapped, I felt violated and betrayed. The trust value was gone. Especially after he said loudly it wasn't his problem! He works for LeClairRYAN LLC a very large legal firm I'm seriously considering suing besides filing a complaint to the office of attorney ethics of the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Always ALWAYS! keep documents in a safe place and be alert because you might need to fight your case to defend yourself from guys like this who fit the bill of a used car salesman with a chip on his shoulder.

I hired this attorney to represent me for litigation against a healthcare entity which violated it's due process procedures and contract. This attorney, before he was hired, confidently stated he would be able to litigate successfully but also had extensive experience with the exact health care entity and the same issue which I was dealing with. On this basis I hired him . He insisted on writing a demand letter first which I warned him would be ineffective without litigation. He then delegated the task to another attorney in his firm with zero experience with this type of work. When the demand letter was ineffective, as was expected , I asked this attorney for his next strategy and basis for litigation and he was unresponsive. He also, by his own admission, told me he very minimal experience with the health care entity I was dealing with, which was a different law firm which is now out of business. The gross misrepresentation and outright fraud by this attorney is bothersome and just plain ridiculous. I do not recommend him at all.

I have used Mr. Tanzman on several occasions with satisfactory results. My last experience was a nightmare. When I inherited the other half of my home by rights of survivorship I contacted Mr. Tanzman who I trusted as to when I should transfer ownership. He advised that if I was going to sell my home to wait and do it then. Well 7 yrs later after 2 sales that got botched up of which he did not verify that deposits were never secured, I wound up paying the State of NJ 40K in inheritance taxes and late fees. His response, “I never gave you financial/tax advice. One would think a Real Estate lawyer would have been better versed and say transfer ownership immediately. On the second transaction the contract stated I was to be out of my home by a certain date. I packed my entire house and put in storage as well as boarded my dogs. The buyer defaulted on the contract but Mr Tanzman convinced me to try to work with him for an additional 3 months. My house went into foreclosure proceedings because I could no longer pay the mortgage or taxes because my money was going into paying for 3 storage pods and boarding facilities for 5 dogs. Mr. Tanzman assured me we would sue for breech of contract which was about 30K in restitution. When that time came, Mr Tanzman advised it was not enough for his firm to handle. When asked about the deposit monies I was told “we never got any because he was too difficult to work with”. If that was the case, why did he advise me to try to continue working with this buyer for 3 months after the contract had been breeched? I finally sold my home using a Real Estate Broker who was fantastic. Closing date was delayed because Mr. Tanzman lost documents that were required and my Realtor advised me that if he did not come through the buyer would have to return the mortgage money back to the bank and the deal would be off. I hope that by writing this review I will save someone else the hardship that I experienced. Last thought. At closing I apparently overpaid my taxes. The reimbursement check was never brought to my attention and when it was it was held hostage because a document which he neglected to have me sign in advance of closing had to be signed. When I received the check it was past the expiration date. Thank God the bank honored it anyway

What a Government Lawyer Can Do for You

A government lawyer specializes in legal issues related to government policies, regulations, and disputes involving public entities. Whether you are a private individual, business, or government agency, a government lawyer provides expert guidance on navigating the complexities of government law. These attorneys handle cases ranging from constitutional law, administrative law, regulatory compliance, and government contracts to defending or challenging government actions.

Government lawyers help individuals and organizations understand their rights and obligations under the law, represent them in disputes with government agencies, and assist in matters of government contracting, procurement, or public policy.

When Should I Hire a Government Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a government lawyer in several situations involving government regulations, compliance, or disputes. Common reasons to hire a government lawyer include:

  • Government contracts and procurement: If you are bidding for or negotiating a contract with a government agency, a lawyer can help ensure compliance with federal, state, or local contracting rules.
  • Regulatory compliance: Businesses operating in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, environmental sectors) often need legal guidance to comply with government regulations and avoid penalties.
  • Government investigations: If you're being investigated by a government agency such as the IRS, SEC, or EPA, a government lawyer can help defend you against allegations or negotiate settlements.
  • Challenging government actions: If a government agency has denied a permit, license, or benefit, a lawyer can help you appeal or challenge the decision in court.
  • Constitutional and civil rights issues: If you believe your constitutional rights have been violated by a government entity, such as in cases involving free speech or discrimination, a government lawyer can help you seek justice.
  • Public policy or lobbying efforts: If you are involved in lobbying or advocating for policy changes at the local, state, or federal level, a government lawyer can provide legal advice on compliance with lobbying laws and strategies for effective advocacy.

Hiring a government lawyer early in the process can help you navigate complex legal frameworks and avoid costly mistakes when dealing with government-related legal issues.

What Does a Government Lawyer Do?

A government lawyer provides a wide range of services that cover interactions between individuals, businesses, and government entities. They can:

  • Assist with government contracts: Helping clients navigate procurement laws, drafting contracts, and resolving disputes related to government contracting.
  • Provide regulatory compliance advice: Offering guidance on meeting regulatory requirements for industries subject to federal, state, or local laws.

How Are Government Lawyers Paid?

Government lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the nature of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: For ongoing legal matters, such as regulatory compliance or government contract disputes, lawyers may charge by the hour. Hourly rates can vary depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as drafting a government contract or filing an administrative appeal, some lawyers charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: For clients who need ongoing legal support, such as businesses frequently interacting with government agencies, a lawyer may charge a retainer fee. This is an upfront payment that covers future legal services.
  • Contingency fee: In some cases involving litigation, such as civil rights violations, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case.

It’s important to discuss fee structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Government Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a government lawyer depends on the complexity of the legal issue, the lawyer's experience, and their fee structure. Here are some general cost estimates:

  • Hourly rates: Government lawyers typically charge between $150 and $500 per hour, depending on their experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Flat fees: For specific legal services, such as drafting a government contract, flat fees can range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the nature of the service.
  • Retainer fees: A retainer for ongoing legal work with government agencies can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the scope and frequency of the work.
  • Contingency fees: In cases where a lawyer works on contingency, their fee is usually a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or damages awarded if the case is successful.

Be sure to get a clear estimate of costs during your consultation to ensure that you understand the fees associated with your case.

Top Questions to Ask a Government Lawyer

When hiring a government lawyer, it’s essential to ask the right questions to ensure they have the experience and skills needed for your specific situation. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What is your experience with government law cases?
Make sure the lawyer has substantial experience in handling cases or issues involving government agencies, regulatory compliance, or constitutional law.

Ask how the lawyer charges for their services - whether by the hour, flat fee, retainer, or contingency fee - and request an estimate of costs.
  3. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your legal options and the likelihood of success based on your specific situation.

Ask about their experience with similar cases and whether they have achieved favorable outcomes in the past.
  6. Who will handle my case?
Clarify whether the lawyer you are meeting with will personally handle your case or whether junior attorneys or paralegals will do most of the work.

How to Check the Credibility of a Government Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a reputable government lawyer, follow these steps to verify their credentials and reputation:

  • Check state bar association records: Confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice in your state and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Review their professional experience: Look for specific experience in government-related legal issues, such as regulatory compliance, government contracts, or administrative law, on their website or professional profile.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check online reviews and ratings on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to get insight into the lawyer’s reputation and track record.
  • Ask for references: Request references from previous clients who have worked with the lawyer on government-related matters to understand their experience and effectiveness.
  • Check for membership in relevant organizations: Look for memberships in professional organizations such as the American Bar Association's Administrative Law Section or the National Institute of Government Procurement, which can indicate the lawyer’s focus on government law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a government lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant information and documents. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Detailed description of your legal issue: Be prepared to explain your situation, whether it’s a regulatory compliance question, a government contract issue, or a dispute with a government agency.
  • Relevant documents: Bring any paperwork related to your case, such as contracts, permits, letters from government agencies, or notices of investigation.
  • A list of questions: Write down any questions you have about your case, including the legal process, potential outcomes, and costs.
  • Timeline of events: Provide a clear timeline of any relevant events, such as the issuance of government orders or interactions with government agencies.
  • Goals for the outcome: Be ready to discuss what you hope to achieve, whether it’s a favorable settlement, regulatory compliance, or overturning a government decision.
