They put you through an inital intake process which is positive. I wanted a quick end to my divorce and was happy to compromise to make it happen. Our goals seemed to align.
Unfortunately this firm provided poor council during the first phone call with the attorney. Luckily this did not lead to a financial move that would have put me in violation of a court order. Later the attorney wanted me to provide documentary evidence he had previously advised against in an aparent 180. Such documentation was previously claimed to put me in legal liability. What can I believe?
Very disappointing.
Divorce is tough enough. I hired an attorney becuase I am no legal expert and I wanted a quick, mediated end to my marriage. Instead I get bad and changing advice. Plenty of good reviews of these guys. Hope I'm an outlier.

I am a current active duty E-4 in the Navy and my command attempted to throw the book at me for something I did not do. This was all based on hearsay. No facts. No evidence. It boiled down to he said/ she said. Long story short, I was accused of harassment, bullying, indecent language, and hostile work environment to which I was being sent to Battalion level NJP. As soon as I was told this information, I went to Google, found Sean Mangan, and gave him a call. During his free consultation, I could tell he was someone who would get things done. The rest is history. I told him I was innocent and did not do any of these things. His advice was to request a Court Martial in order to fight these claims instead of taking the punishment. This process took an entire year because of all the government delays, set backs, and shady tactics. Sean never wavered. He always reassured me that we were on the right track and he was in my corner. He doesn’t make promises he can’t keep BUT he will fight until the end and will lay everything out, the good, the bad, the ugly. I knew what my options were and what the different outcomes would be. On the day of my Court Martial, as nervous as I was, standing next to Sean eased my worries. He was so professional, well prepared, ready to object to any falsities the government had up their sleeves, spoke so concisely and matter of factly in a way that was extremely comforting to me, as the accused. He’s also funny. I think his slight humorous jokes played into this as well. During the four long days, Sean was on top of it. He listened carefully, tore apart the witnesses' stories, created plenty of reasonable doubt, and overall uncovered the truth to the panel that these accusations had no merit. This was the best decision I could have made and was absolutely worth every dime to hire Sean. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Sean took care of me and my family by getting a full acquittal of all charges and specifications.

I am currently a Captain in the Regular Army, and I owe my military career to Sean Mangan.
My story began five years ago, when I became the subject of a formal investigation. I wasn’t educated on how detrimental adverse administrative actions could be to my career, and I didn’t receive the resultsof the investigation until three months later. The investigation was riddled with errors based on third-party information, and I was treated as an outcast, unable to correct the record. It was terrifying to realize that all my military accomplishments could be disregarded.
After returning from deployment, I became a constant target of my leadership, who prevented me from PCS-ing by altering my YMAV multiple times without consulting me. I submitted a request to appeal the findings of the investigation based on new evidence, but my Brigade Commander denied it and moved forward with initiating administrative separation. I felt hopeless and defeated until I found Sean Mangan. He submitted written responses on my behalf, presenting strong arguments that persuaded the Post Commander to retain me without a Board of Inquiry. Furthermore, his legal expertise led to the Army Board for Correction of Military Records (ABCMR) ruling in my favor, resulting in the GOMOR being moved to my restricted file and giving me a second chance at my career.
As a Company Commander, I faced several instances where Brigade Judge Advocates attempted to push me into initiating a GOMOR or administrative separation on enlisted soldiers based on minimal proof. The formal investigation process is deeply flawed and needs reform.
Sean Mangan is someone who listens and provides hope. With his experience as a retired Army Judge, he delivers the best possible defense. He continues to serve because he genuinely cares about helping service members in tough situations. I will always be grateful for what Sean Mangan has done for me and my family.

I hired Sean to ensure my rank was not reduced at retirement during the AGDRB process. He took me on as a client with short notice and was able to present my case and bring a hammer to fight back against the issues and damage my former command left me. His understanding of the military justice systemand processes is unmatched, being a former JAG officer. In the end I was able to retain my current rank at retirement - money well spent in my book. My only regret was not hiring Sean earlier when the salacious accusations were made against me, and relying on the provided military attorney. Just like Soldiers, not all military assigned counsel are the best or prioritize your situation. Hire that private lawyer early and fight back. Most commanding officers are risk adverse politicians and will side with the safest option for military justice. Do not give them that option. Hire Sean and let him fight it out for you to provide the best chance of winning your case and retaining your good name and reputation.

Mr. Harnish took on my case after a last minute request by myself and was able to meet within a day. After speaking with him, I immediately knew this was the right person to represent me. He was confident and his calm demeanor was exactly what I needed to tell him everything. After I retained him, he immediately went to work and informed my command I was being represented and we started the process of gathering our information. I did my best to go above and beyond because I knew he was going to advocate for me and bring the truth to light. I didn’t know where to start and with Mr. Harnish’s guidance I was able to collect myself and push forward. The whole ordeal was very traumatic and reliving everything for a second time was horrible. This was the first time I was able to have someone listen to me. It was the first time I was able to pick myself up after having my name and my character drug through the mud for so long. I never thought I would be in this position, but now I have regained my confidence due to amazing representation. Mr. Harnish often asked how I was doing and gave me optimistic, but realistic reassurance. He truly cares and is very passionate about the difference he makes in the world.
I successfully hired civilian attorneys who got my case ultimately dismissed on the civilian side and with nothing on my record. Afterwards, it was the Marine Corps turn to review the incident and upon speaking with my command’s legal advisor, I felt this was going to require another attorney. My command believed this was a cold cut case and wanted to have an answer to everything within a few days of the investigation. I did some homework, but wanted an attorney that was not in my local area and who obviously was knowledgeable with the UCMJ. I am very fortunate and grateful I found Mr. Harnish because after we submitted our side of the events leading up to and after the incident, my command found there was no misconduct on my part and were not recommending any punishment and/or separation. I still must go through the formal review and administrative process to make sure everything is official, however looking at my command’s recommendation – from a historical standpoint – it is looking very good that I will be ultimately retained.
Mr. Harnish worked very fast as we only had 14 days to submit everything, and he did it with a three hour time difference. He often worked late and had meetings with me after my workday ended, which was well past the workday for him.
Hands down, I would recommend Mr. Harnish for representation. It is worth it.

I am a 1SG (E8) in the Army. I was investigated from OCT 2022 - SEP 2023 for a crime the Army assumed I did in 2018. In SEP 2023, the Army decided that evidence for the crime did not exist and all legal actions were dropped so there was not a court martial or UCMJ action. My Brigade Commander decided to recommend me for a GOMOR for the alleged crime as Administrative actions don’t require solid evidence. In OCT 2023, a GOMOR was issued by the LTG not for the alleged crime, but instead for a Recruiter Misconduct that allegedly took place in 2018. Again, zero evidence to support this allegation existed and I honestly felt like they were trying to simply get me for something to justify having me flagged for such a long time with nothing to support it.
I consulted with TDS and the Legal office throughout this whole process, but I felt like my best interests were not going to be represented by either as they are understaffed, over worked, and some simply just don’t have enough interest in what they do. Never once did an Army Lawyer meet with me and the JBLM Main office even declined to support me, without explanation, after physically showing up to their office for a few consecutive days. They emailed me saying they couldn’t help me and referred me to the legal office on McChord, which only does telephonic as the time. My telephonic consultation with the McChord legal office lasted only about 5 minutes and the civilian lawyer kept saying “do not try to re-litigate this, just trying to ask the General for leniency in the filing of the GOMOR”. I’ve maintained my innocence in these matters the entire time and knew I had to seek legal help outside of the Military.
I contacted Mr. Harnish, a former Army JAG Officer, and looked up reviews for his service. I knew my best chance at showing the Army the truth was by hiring him to represent me. He immediately requested an extension and went over every detail in the investigation. He contacted several entities on post and “dug up” more information surrounding the case and even got evidence that I would’ve never been entitled to otherwise…. All of which pointed to the obvious answer: I was innocent the whole time. As new evidence was provided to him, he took meticulous time and effort to make sure no stone was left unturned and even asked for additional extensions so as not to rush through anything. My rebuttal was 112 pages long, packed with evidence and legal jargon that I honestly would’ve never been able to do with the on post legal help, let alone myself. Mr Harnish presented my case in an amazing fashion and the rebuttal was submitted well ahead of the deadline in NOV 2023.
In JAN 2024, the LTG that issued the GOMOR decided to withdrawal and destroy the document, effectively ending the entire ordeal. This would’ve been impossible if not for Mr. Harnish as I know that I would not have been able to construct a rebuttal, nor get the evidence to support it, if not for him. This lawyer is a good man and is worth every penny.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Hawkins Law! I head the pleasure of working with Brian and Kjirsten on an eviction case. Retained Mike to save my nephew and his career in Air Force. My Nephew had exceptional performance and commendations in Air Force for 15 years until he was injured overseas in line of duty. After his injury due to insurgents attacking his plane and explosion sending concrete hitting him in his chest fracturing his back. flight surgeon stated he likely just bruised his chest he was OK to proceed with mission. Upon his return to his base in WA he was having problems with his leg walking and pain. He went to medical they said he pulled a muscle gave him muscle relaxer. This went on for over a year until his leg gave out and he fell. He was taken by ambulance to hospital ER in excruciating pain in his spine where doctor advised his back was broken. It was determined his back was fractured in line if duty injury and over time in extreme pain and collapsing his back finally broke. A six hour surgery to repair and put a cage over the injured spine all this could have been avoided if he had had proper medical care at time of his injury. The ongoing pain from this injury my nephew was self medicating with alcohol his command told him to self report and he did and the campaign of harassment started. They immediately took away his responsibilities and his Stripe. Between the pain from his broken back and the harassment by his Command as well as humiliated at loss of his duties and stripe as he was pending going up for Master Sargent we were concerned at his drinking, depression , and he was placed on no less on 8 medications he should not of been on we feared he would take his life. I decided to get him an attorney to put a stop to this harassment that was unrelenting. By
grace of God I was referred to Mike he took the case and immediately put a stop to the Command harassment. The battle was just beginning the command then wanted to Court marshal my nephew. Mike went
before a Board and won case of the command harassment and improper procedures in treatment of my nephew. Then a new Commander took over took another stripe from my nephew and due to my nephews destroyed mental health and due to drinking was in liver failure locked him up in Brig for 6 months. Then proceeded with court Marshall. At this point my. Nephew was due to retire from military and was entitled to disability. Mike put up an excellent excellent defense at trial and my nephew was able to retire with general discharge snd collect his disability as he is not able to work due to his broken back. This was a long journey but Mike was there every step for my nephew and our family provided he always promptly answered our questions and concerns and checked on the well being of my nephew. His determination and knowledge of law is Extrodinary and his care as a human being for is clients and their families goes above and beyond.
