The office staff was amazing, they clearly explained me the process and sent me necessary forms to be filled before reviewing with the attorney and was able to setup an appointment soon. The attorney that I worked with reviewed the forms prior to a phone consultation and only asked relevant questions and was pleasant to work with. The attorney clearly explained any doubts that I had. I had reminder calls from the office before the day of the appointment, which is really appreciated. They clearly inform the things needed on the day of the appointment. Since there is so much work and planning done before the appointment, the actual appointment and the paper work is just quick, easy and efficient. Highly recommend them for your will and trust related needs.

Love, Love Love this whole Law firm. Ashley is amazing, compassionate, thorough, and good at what she does. Her assistant Tanya is also the bomb. They got me a great settlement after my dog and I were attacked by 2 pitbulls. The whole process though long and difficult was made much easier by working with Tanya and Ashley. I tell everyone who will listen about them. I would recommend anyone who needs a lawyer to contact Ashley Armstrong immediately.

I contacted the office of Ryan, Montgomery & Armstrong, Inc after seeing them listed in a brochure from the Kitsap County Treasurer that listed them as a local law office that deals with real estate matters. Terre, the office administrator, was incredibly helpful, responsive and made the whole process quick and easy for me. I highly recommend them!

I worked with Preet and her team at Kode Law Firm on a unique case that lasted for a year and a half. From the beginning, Preet was kind, understanding, and straightforward. The case required several steps to occur for it to deliver in my favor, and Preet was knowledgeable and methodical as we moved through the process. Preet also made me feel empowered and informed and I feel fortunate to have had her on my side. The outcome reached meant a lot to my family and I, and I am forever grateful. I've hired Rob Bartlett to represent me in a real estate lawsuit. Rob has been truly amazing since day 1. He is transparent about pricing and the legal process, communicates with clarity and in terms that people don't need extensive knowledge in the field to understand. He is an expert and highly experienced in real estate litigations. Of course, he helped us win the lawsuit. I would recommend Rob and this firm to anyone who needs help with real estate litigations.

We hired this firm twice this year, to assist with a house purchase. This firm is in network with the legal plan associated with our employee benefits. I found the whole process very easy. Never have been addressed formally as ‘mister’ so much, and I think I like it. The lawyers and other staff were responsive and competent and patient with our many questions. They worked well with our real estate agent. Why would someone not want to hire a lawyer to help us navigate the biggest purchase of our lives? Five stars. Review updated 11/2022: We have continued to use this attorney office, this time for estate planning, last will and testament, etc. I have been very happy with them. As a xennial, my generation tends to not use lawyers much, but these folks make it super easy.

I recently attended Evergreen State in Elder Law at their free online workshop called “Estate planning 101: Everything you need to know to create a solid plan”. The instructor, Mirisa, explained about Wills, Trust,Power of Attorney,, and living Wills, and it was an incredible informative experience. Mirisa was clear, knowledgeable, and made complex topics easy to understand. The session covered everything from special needs trust to the importance of planning for the future, with helpful insights throughout. The Q&A at the end was especially useful. I highly recommend this company for anyone looking to better understand their legal Planning-needs — Definitely worth attending!

I've had the pleasure (or displeasure depending on how you look at it) for over 20 years. I had a pretty serious drinking problem and wracked up several DUI's because of it. Howard got me out of two DMV license suspensions for refusing to take a breathalyzer test (which is completely unheard of).On my most recent one, the prosecutor wanted my head on a pike and we were forced to go to trial. We lost (because I was guilty as sin), but not for lack of trying on Howard's part. He worked tirelessly preparing for it, and even shaved his beard off so he would look more presentable to the jury. What attorney does that?! And even though we lost, Howard got me 10 days of work release when the State was asking 200 days in jail. And even then, he apologized because he said he "didn't do his best". I tell everyone I meet that Mr. Stein is one of the most good-hearted, honest, and honorable men I've ever met, and I mean that.

I had a disappointing experience with Cara Starr as a lawyer. Unfortunately, I found that she lacked empathy and did not demonstrate strong customer relations skills to build trust. Throughout our interactions, she did not seem to listen to my concerns with a helpful or understanding attitude, which made the process more frustrating than it needed to be. I believe a lawyer should be both knowledgeable and compassionate, but sadly, I did not find these qualities in her approach.

By far the worst legal experience imaginable. If you are ever assigned them as a public defender do everything in your power to not have Mr. Lotskar or Deweirdt involved at any point and honestly I would ask for another law firm all together. These are the public defenders that are way to friendly with the prosecution and seem to advise clients in a way that benefits prosecution. They are extremely dense in terms of understanding what actual life is like for human beings outside of the court room after a decision has been made. They just want to process you and get you off of their books. By far the worst law firm I have ever worked with.

September 12th, 2022 police arrived at my door to tell me they were investigating sexual claims made against me, outlandish as they were I immediately panicked because as everyone knows, once these rise against you, you’re pretty much screwed. I immediately reached out to any attorney and was recommended Vindicate law, I spoke to the receptionist and explained the case and was assigned Carrie Fulton Brown. She accepted my case. The path to freedom was long and arduous. After the arraignment they told me I was facing 60 years in prison. Many continuations later, my anxiety and stress were at an all time high. Me and Carrie never really talked to each other about the case itself except a few times as my case was entirely hearsay, but because of the fact that it was from a minor the case was stacked against me 10 fold. Communication with Carrie was very rough, as most people sitting in the hot seat just want a shred or a glimmer of positivity but Carrie did NOT deliver on that front in the slightest. But that was okay, because she was dedicated to working against the state in a screwed up system. Most of the beginning of my case I knew most people and even Carrie didn’t believe me when I say I didn’t do it. Later on I passed 3 polygraph tests trying to prove I didn’t do it, and only after the 3rd one when I passed it with the actual prosecutor / State did Carrie tell me she strongly believes I didn’t do it. She gave me the best options to follow forward and going to trial with a minors words against mine was bleak, Carrie fought for the best outcome, I served 0 days in jail, no fees or Fines, Didn’t have to sign a sexual registry, all 4 counts were dropped to a Class C Abuse of a child. And 1 year of DOC Probation in which I spent 3 weeks on before the DOC discharged me from probation saying my crime didn’t fit criteria of having probation as I was a zero risk person and this was the only thing I’ve ever gotten on my record. All said and done, I’m glad Carrie pulled through for me and allowed me to stay out of prison and remain with my family and to continue working she’s a tough person to understand and rough around the edges when talking to her but she’s nothing but business which is what you want in an attorney. Thanks Carrie for giving me my life back! 60 years was a long time to be away.

I am absolutely appalled by the complete lack of professionalism and utter disregard for my situation shown by Carrie Fulton Brown from this Law Group. I entrusted her with my case, believing her promises of dedicated representation, and instead, I received nothing but empty words and an empty bank account. She happily accepted my retainer, and then proceeded to do absolutely nothing. During the 6 months period she was my attorney, before her withdrawal, phone calls went unanswered, meetings/appointments were canceled for no apparent reasons. No investigations were done on my case, she did not interview no witnesses, and the so called ”victim“. Furthermore, Carrie had the audacity to tell me I was borderline harassing her by calling her and her incompetent paralegal Lisa too much. She literally took my money and vanished into thin air. Carrie Fulton Brown is a trash of attorney. I suffered significantly due to her inaction, and I was left feeling completely abandoned and betrayed. I would strongly advise anyone considering hiring her to look elsewhere. Save your money, save your time, and save yourself the immense frustration and disappointment. She is a disgrace to the legal profession.

We needed a representative with extensive cannabis expertise because our business partners ended up being not so great partners. Since we couldnt use our previous business attorney, we asked everyone we respected in the industry and got several recommendations to go with Aaron. One recommendation came from a friend who, with Aaron's help, had just won a 2 year legal battle against his former partner for a large settlement. So it was pretty easy to trust Aaron's experience, and I had personally seen his success with my friend. Our situation was complex and layered. When we explained the circumstances, Aaron quickly and easily understood the complexities. He jumped in and took control of the communication with the other side. The previous partners legal representative was very combative and overly aggressive. They also had much deeper pockets than us, and were attempting to bully the situation to run up my legal bills. Aaron easily saw through this and was able to prevent them from dragging us into a deeper or ongoing situation. He was more clever and knowledgeable than their representation. His communications with them were firm, but not combative or retaliatory to their negativity. I think he had a great read of the circumstances and the people involved. And he maneuvered through the problems and communications excellently. He also helped give us better perspective of our situation as it dragged on. He helped us understand the need for our personal restraint, and made suggestions for how we could maneuver going forward for our personal and business success. In the end,we got out of the partnership, with minimal headaches, and are in a much better position now thanks to the advice and guidance that Aaron gave us. We would highly recommend to work with him if you are lucky enough to.

I’ve been working with Aaron since 2018. Each time we have worked together he is thorough, knowledgeable, and patient with a huge fire to achieve the goal. He also has always been realistic of what is possible and what is not. I appreciate that so much as some attorneys will only tell you what you want to hear. I always feel supported in my needs while also put at ease due to his complete understanding of the business and people he represents. The team he surrounds himself with are also all stars. Ted and Chris are awesome to work with as well. Each member of the team offers their own unique skill. Where this asset only makes Aaron stronger in representation of his clients. No stone unturned, Aaron GETS THE JOB DONE. I trust him with my life and freedom. 10/10 would recommend.

Communication via phone and email conveyed assertiveness and authenticity, which showed the traits of a genuine individual. From the outset, she made herself completely available to me and made sure to include me in every aspect of our process together. She advocated for me in a skillful and honest way, and because of her support, we were successful in closing the case within four months (granted my case was not a complicated one). I highly recommend Nicole for any case involving the DOH of Washington State. She is caring and personable, efficient and talented.

As a new business owner, I was looking for someone to help navigate the world of compliance in the therapeutic world. Nicole was both knowledgeable about the legal requirements for my business and mindful in her delivery of information and recommendations. Nicole became just as invested and enthusiastic about my business as me! She established an efficient communication system where we could easily brainstorm and share ideas about the business and update documents like client intake forms and policies. It has been a great partnership!
As my business grows, Nicole continues to be a wonderful and reliable source - from answering my business questions to helping create new documents and policies. I know that I can count on her for my business needs. Michele Owner, The Wanderers’ Nest www.twnfarm.com

We at the non-profit Yoga Collective of Yakima had such a great experience with Daniel Clark. And great results because of his knowledgeable information and assistance. We were able to confidently negotiate a new lease to our advantage using his guidance. And because we are a non-profit, he provided this free of charge. So thankful for his assistance. I appreciate his courteous nature and ease of communicating complex subject matter in a brief and efficient manner for the time constraint.

Alex represented our son in a civil and later criminal case. From the very moment we contacted him, he showed he cared for our son’s wellbeing & took charge of a very difficult case. We had no legal experience at all and he patiently & thoroughly explained things to us. He knew right away our son was suffering from an underlying medical condition & he knew we needed to get him home as quickly as possible. His expertise and professionalism were amazing. Alex represented our son at the preliminary hearing so well, the plaintiff didn’t show to the actual hearing. We were able to get our son home and the cases were later closed. I can’t say enough about Alex. He literally saved our son’s life! If you want the best of the best, you need Alex to represent you.

I got hit with a TPO full of false allegations in Kitsap County out of the blue stemming from a dispute with my HOA (ironically involving other false allegations). After hiring Alex, he immediately got to work and provided invaluable guidance every step of the way in getting the case together. By the time we got to court, we were so prepared that we never even got to testify, the judge threw the case out in our favor after the petitioner's story completely fell apart. I was almost disappointed to win so quickly, as we had so much more to go over! I had total confidence in him every step of the way. If you ever get in a situation like this, I would highly recommend his services.

I called Alexander's law office from the Sacramento airport while I was on a layover where I had to be in court in Seattle to respond to a legal matter. He only had about 18 hours to prepare and defend me, yet he did so in impressive fashion: CASE DISMISSED. He educated me on the what to expect in a legal process before we entered the courtroom and walked me through a mock Q & A scenario on what to expect at the time of my hearing. It was exactly as he described with the exception that I didn't have to do any talking at all because his explanation was so sharp and to the point that he blew the whole case apart in one session without dragging my dear friend into the case who was called as a witness when she did not want to be used as a scapegoat and set up to be embarrassed by questions unrelated to her. He really knows how to thread the needle to help protect everyone all while reminding you that YOU, THE CLIENT is always his main concern. No less important, his fee structure is extremely honest too. I was expecting to pay one amount much higher than what he actually retained from me, but actually ended up with money back that I had considered gone. Finally, after our victory, he sat with me for about 35 or 40 minutes and just gave me true down-to-earth legal counsel and advice on what to do moving forward to avoid disputes like mine all while telling me about alternative options if I ever need him again. Put this guy on retainer, it's a no-brainer in the adage when it comes to him.

I was facing TWO allegations in my Command which are 112a and 93. With 16 years in the Navy, I knew the Navy has ZERO tolerance when it comes to illegal drugs and I take it very seriously. I got so worried that my 16 long years I spent my life in the Navy would just flush thru a drain like waste. As soon as I found out about it, I didnt hesitate to call Mr White and he gave me some advises before I even hire him and met in person. The moment I met Mr White, I felt very comfortable and ease. He is so flexible that I can meet or call him almost anytime of the day to answer any questions and worries I had. I will never forget that time he told me that he will go to war for me to win this battle. The day of my Adsep board he truly proven me what he said by shutting down our opponents who tried to take me down. I highly recommend Mr Bruce White to anyone who is facing the toughest time in life.

I appreciate the passion, patience, and prompt attention my particular case received. My attorney, Thomas Jarrard was outstanding; he really showed full dedication towards getting me a quick and positive outcome on my case. He provided me with a sense of confidence after the Global law firm I previously worked at assigned a Partner in an attempt to deny me of my rights under USERRA. Thomas Jerrard is extremely knowledgeable, and reached a resolution, after a single phone call to said Partner at old firm, which ended in my favor and without needing to endure a trial. I would recommend anyone to this law firm and trust Mr. Jerrard and his team can handle any case or situation with total satisfaction.

If you are in the military/veteran having employment issues related to your service aka USERRA law violations then look no further—Thomas is the lawyer for you. Thomas is in a league of his own. He is talented, hardworking and an exceptional lawyer. He is extremely knowledgeable, candid, and efficient in his work. Thomas is an expert in USERRA laws, and get results quickly. Thomas immediately provided me with relief that I would receive a just outcome in my case; and outlined all the issues/case laws and claims they would proceed on. I already knew after my first ZOOM call interaction with him that I had secured a winning team. Thomas wins his cases, because he knows what he’s doing, and how to get it done. Thomas was responsive and throughout while handling my case. I am grateful for the times I would call him, and he could sense the urgency and anxiousness in my tone; and would immediately start sending out emails to get answers to my questions. Thomas gave me the confidence I needed that my case would be in good hands as I left for active duty orders — and he exceeded those expectations. Thanks to Thomas I was able to get a resolution beyond my wildest imagination before even returning home! I am forever grateful and indebted to Thomas for his help. This isn’t Allstate, but you’re definitely in good hands with Thomas. Thank you Thomas not only for your service to this country, but your continued service in representing military service members. You are appreciated.

I retained Harriet after hearing multiple times from others how my case could not be won. Harriet agreed that it was a difficult case but decided to represent me with my wrongful discharge tort claim from the State of Washington. To make matters more complicated, I was a probationary employee with no rights. I had only worked 4 months for my employer before they separated me from employment. I was impressed with the letters she wrote the opposing party arguing discrimination. They were, in essence, legal memoranda with the law cited and legal authority provided. At first, I thought that all I could get was the termination or separation removed from my file in exchange for a letter of resignation written by me to be placed in my personnel file. The bottom line was that due to Harriet's help, not only did they agree to change the separation to a resignation, they agreed to give me monetary compensation, provide neutral references if asked and to refer all future calls about my separation to the personnel office. All that after only 4 months of employment! Harriet literally worked magic!

Harriet was very effective for me. Not only did she help in a personnel hearing. She was very good at gathering information, researching, and advising me during the process. She pointed out the ups and downs of going into a hearing. It ended up going much as she suspected. The personnel hearing resulted in a favorable outcome. I was very satisfied with Harriet's efforts and would give her "high marks" regardless of the outcome.

I was on paid administrative leave for 10 months before hiring Harriet. My situation was very complex with hundreds of documents and emails showing what had happened. Harriet was able get her head around the situation in a short amount of time. Harriet understood school budgets and school laws. Within three weeks of hiring Harriet, she wrote a 16 page letter to the district and their attorney which convinced the district that they didn’t have a case. Harriet worked tirelessly on my behalf. I would get emails from her at all hours of the night and day. she was always available to answer my questions. She ultimately brokered an agreement that allowed me to return to work. Harriet isn’t much for pleasantries or small talk. If you are looking for an attorney that is going to counsel you and make you feel good, she probably isn’t for you. If you are looking for someone who knows the law and knows how to deal with employers and their attorneys, she is a great choice. I would wholeheartedly recommend Harriet.

Robert is the best attorney I have ever worked with. From our first meeting, he explained everything to me in terms I could easily understand and was always very responsive when I had questions outside of our meeting. He answered the phone when I called and always got back to my e-mails. He got some negative items off my credit and got my credit scores from the 500 to over 800 I can actually qualify for a home loan now. He even got me some money to help me pay for my sons collage I cant say enough about how he has changed my life! Robert is amazing and has the knowledge and expertise necessary to help you. He is fantastic at stopping debt collectors that are conducting intimidating and abusive tactics and performing illegal practices to collect consumer debt. I was injured in 2014, as a result I suffered a financial hardship and couldn't pay my creditors, I had lost everything by 2017, surrendering the last item I couldn't pay and was basically homeless staying with freinds. When I returned to work, working for financial recovery and to gain the basic necessities to survive I was defeated by an attorney of law representing a debt collector because I chose to go it alone without representation, that was in 2020. In 2021, a year later I was served again by the exact same attorney representing another debt collector. I could hardly believe what was going on and felt that the attorney was actively searching my name for debt and wouldn't stop until every penny I had would be theirs and i would be homeless. I had had enough, my only hope this time around would be representation. I called Robert Mitchell's office for help, Robert called me back immediately as he knew that there was no time to waste. He obtained information from me (plaintiff attorney, my credit report and state that debt originated) and a brief history of the debt, he then put my mind at ease and assured me he will be doing all he can to help me. Within a few days Robert found many problems  with the collection lawsuit against me and immediately launched an aggressive countersuit against the plaintiff which not only resulted in a dismissal of the case but a deletion of an erroneous account on my credit report with a substantial monetary settlement in my favor. I was amazed at what Robert accomplished in a short amount of time, as I had only expected a reduction, a wash or dismissal of the case.  In conclusion, i would like to say that if you are finding yourself in a similar situation or something in regards, please don't ignore or hide from it, don't get the feeling you have no where to turn to, I would recommend you call and consult with Robert immediately, he can be your only hope, the winning edge against the illegal practices debt collectors are resorting to.

What a Government Lawyer Can Do for You

A government lawyer specializes in legal issues related to government policies, regulations, and disputes involving public entities. Whether you are a private individual, business, or government agency, a government lawyer provides expert guidance on navigating the complexities of government law. These attorneys handle cases ranging from constitutional law, administrative law, regulatory compliance, and government contracts to defending or challenging government actions.

Government lawyers help individuals and organizations understand their rights and obligations under the law, represent them in disputes with government agencies, and assist in matters of government contracting, procurement, or public policy.

When Should I Hire a Government Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a government lawyer in several situations involving government regulations, compliance, or disputes. Common reasons to hire a government lawyer include:

  • Government contracts and procurement: If you are bidding for or negotiating a contract with a government agency, a lawyer can help ensure compliance with federal, state, or local contracting rules.
  • Regulatory compliance: Businesses operating in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, environmental sectors) often need legal guidance to comply with government regulations and avoid penalties.
  • Government investigations: If you're being investigated by a government agency such as the IRS, SEC, or EPA, a government lawyer can help defend you against allegations or negotiate settlements.
  • Challenging government actions: If a government agency has denied a permit, license, or benefit, a lawyer can help you appeal or challenge the decision in court.
  • Constitutional and civil rights issues: If you believe your constitutional rights have been violated by a government entity, such as in cases involving free speech or discrimination, a government lawyer can help you seek justice.
  • Public policy or lobbying efforts: If you are involved in lobbying or advocating for policy changes at the local, state, or federal level, a government lawyer can provide legal advice on compliance with lobbying laws and strategies for effective advocacy.

Hiring a government lawyer early in the process can help you navigate complex legal frameworks and avoid costly mistakes when dealing with government-related legal issues.

What Does a Government Lawyer Do?

A government lawyer provides a wide range of services that cover interactions between individuals, businesses, and government entities. They can:

  • Assist with government contracts: Helping clients navigate procurement laws, drafting contracts, and resolving disputes related to government contracting.
  • Provide regulatory compliance advice: Offering guidance on meeting regulatory requirements for industries subject to federal, state, or local laws.
  • Handle administrative law matters: Representing clients before government agencies, such as appealing administrative decisions, applying for permits, or defending against regulatory enforcement actions.
  • Challenge or defend government actions: Representing clients in lawsuits involving government agencies, including constitutional challenges, civil rights violations, or disputes over government decisions.
  • Negotiate settlements with government entities: If a government agency is pursuing legal action against you or your business, a lawyer can negotiate settlements to avoid costly litigation.
  • Advocate for policy changes: Advising clients on legal strategies for influencing public policy, including lobbying and drafting legislation.
  • Litigate constitutional issues: Handling cases related to the Constitution, such as First Amendment rights, due process violations, or unlawful government actions.

How Are Government Lawyers Paid?

Government lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the nature of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: For ongoing legal matters, such as regulatory compliance or government contract disputes, lawyers may charge by the hour. Hourly rates can vary depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as drafting a government contract or filing an administrative appeal, some lawyers charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: For clients who need ongoing legal support, such as businesses frequently interacting with government agencies, a lawyer may charge a retainer fee. This is an upfront payment that covers future legal services.
  • Contingency fee: In some cases involving litigation, such as civil rights violations, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case.

It’s important to discuss fee structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Government Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a government lawyer depends on the complexity of the legal issue, the lawyer's experience, and their fee structure. Here are some general cost estimates:

  • Hourly rates: Government lawyers typically charge between $150 and $500 per hour, depending on their experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Flat fees: For specific legal services, such as drafting a government contract, flat fees can range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the nature of the service.
  • Retainer fees: A retainer for ongoing legal work with government agencies can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the scope and frequency of the work.
  • Contingency fees: In cases where a lawyer works on contingency, their fee is usually a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or damages awarded if the case is successful.

Be sure to get a clear estimate of costs during your consultation to ensure that you understand the fees associated with your case.

Top Questions to Ask a Government Lawyer

When hiring a government lawyer, it’s essential to ask the right questions to ensure they have the experience and skills needed for your specific situation. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What is your experience with government law cases?
Make sure the lawyer has substantial experience in handling cases or issues involving government agencies, regulatory compliance, or constitutional law.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Ask how the lawyer charges for their services - whether by the hour, flat fee, retainer, or contingency fee - and request an estimate of costs.
  3. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your legal options and the likelihood of success based on your specific situation.
  4. How do you handle interactions with government agencies?
Ask about their approach to dealing with government entities and their experience with specific agencies relevant to your case (e.g., IRS, EPA, SEC).
  5. Have you handled cases like mine before?
Ask about their experience with similar cases and whether they have achieved favorable outcomes in the past.
  6. Who will handle my case?
Clarify whether the lawyer you are meeting with will personally handle your case or whether junior attorneys or paralegals will do most of the work.

How to Check the Credibility of a Government Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a reputable government lawyer, follow these steps to verify their credentials and reputation:

  • Check state bar association records: Confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice in your state and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Review their professional experience: Look for specific experience in government-related legal issues, such as regulatory compliance, government contracts, or administrative law, on their website or professional profile.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check online reviews and ratings on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to get insight into the lawyer’s reputation and track record.
  • Ask for references: Request references from previous clients who have worked with the lawyer on government-related matters to understand their experience and effectiveness.
  • Check for membership in relevant organizations: Look for memberships in professional organizations such as the American Bar Association's Administrative Law Section or the National Institute of Government Procurement, which can indicate the lawyer’s focus on government law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a government lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant information and documents. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Detailed description of your legal issue: Be prepared to explain your situation, whether it’s a regulatory compliance question, a government contract issue, or a dispute with a government agency.
  • Relevant documents: Bring any paperwork related to your case, such as contracts, permits, letters from government agencies, or notices of investigation.
  • A list of questions: Write down any questions you have about your case, including the legal process, potential outcomes, and costs.
  • Timeline of events: Provide a clear timeline of any relevant events, such as the issuance of government orders or interactions with government agencies.
  • Goals for the outcome: Be ready to discuss what you hope to achieve, whether it’s a favorable settlement, regulatory compliance, or overturning a government decision.

By being organized and prepared, you can help your lawyer understand your situation more quickly and give you the best legal advice moving forward.
