I was represented by Mrs. Lombardo in a Harris County CPS case. When it comes to any attorney this being my first court case ever, you have to give your attorney "something to work with." I asked Mrs. Lombardo to fight for me. She looked at me without hesitation and said, "Ok. We fight!" It was on then. She has a way of making you feel like it's you two against the world. Her personality is huge. Smart, personable and professional. She will explain the details and the court lingo. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have my children back. She investigated for the truth on the lies from CPS and when everyone 'CPS and other entities' were against family reunification she fought this battle with me and we won! I watched her not be punked around by the other attorneys to see to it that her voice was heard on behalf of her client. She has a way of listening and understanding which direction an argument could go based off of what she could say. I was honest with her and did all that was required of me and she stood up for me. I may not be the ‘most profitable client’ of yours due to my financial situation but I will confidently tell you this… I am your ‘most grateful client’ and that comes from my heart.

I was fraudulently accused of an assault on a peace officer. Emily took my case and was very thorough in requesting my video evidence, witness statements, and documentation that was pertinent in proving the charges were false. She always instilled confidence that she could get me the best outcome. Communication was excellent, she kept me informed of all proceedings through court appearances and the entire process. Anytime I had a concern or question about the case she would respond to my text messages instantly. Ultimately, she got the charges dismissed. Emily Detoto is at the top of my list if I ever find myself in another terrible situation! Thanks for getting my life back! I highly recommend her to anyone that wants the BEST criminal defense lawyer in Texas, contact “The Texas Warrior Lawyer” Emily Detoto.

I had the unfortunate experience of being charged with a second offense of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI 2nd) following a traffic accident that was witnessed by a police officer. Considering the high stakes of the case, including the almost certain loss of my career, I knew I needed the best legal representation available. At the outset, my case seemed pretty hopeless to me. I had refused all field sobriety tests, but a warrant was obtained, and my blood was taken. The test results showed a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) slightly above the legal limit at the time of booking into Harris County Jail. Fortunately, I immediately retained Emily Munoz Detoto as my attorney, which turned out to be the best decision I could have made. From the start, Emily displayed exceptional professionalism and dedication to my case, and it was evident that she was a seasoned criminal defense attorney. Though her legal advice was blunt at times, it was exactly what I needed to hear. Throughout the entire process, Emily was confidently on-point and kept me informed every step of the way. The attention paid to her by the court and prosecutors was reassuring, and I give her all the credit for the favorable outcome of my case. My initial hope was for her to negotiate with the DA to reduce my charges or secure a pre-trial intervention, but Emily went above and beyond my expectations. She reviewed the evidence with me and laid out a clear strategy that included best and worst-case scenarios. She reassured me that if necessary, she was prepared to hire experts and take the case to trial. Her commitment and attention to detail were outstanding, and she made sure I understood every step of the process. Ultimately, she got my case dismissed entirely without the need for a trial, probation, or job search. Overall, I highly recommend Emily Munoz Detoto to anyone in need of legal representation. She is a true professional who genuinely cares about her clients and is highly capable of achieving the best possible outcome for them. Emily gave me peace of mind throughout the entire process, and I am grateful for the exceptional service she provided. Thanks, Emily, for giving me my life back!

We hired Emily to represent my brother on a Capital Murder case. She was paid 50k. She made many promises and assured us that he was in good hands and that we had nothing to worry about at all. That she knew what she was doing. She visited my brother one time in jail since last year and has failed to communicate with us and him on what is going on. He was offered a plea deal that he had no idea about it what to do when he went to court. She has constantly threaten my family that she is removing her self off case cause she doesn’t like for us to ask questions. She thinks someone is always out to get her. Hiring her has caused more stress and worries than anything. She cant even remember a conversation we had the day before which makes us wonder what’s really going on. She constantly speaking down on us every chance she gets and blocks us for contacting her which is very unprofessional. At this point we don’t even know what she really had been doing on the case.

I was recommended Carlos by a close friend who set up an appointment for me at the firm. Upon meeting Carlos I felt extremely welcomed, even before payments we fleshed out my case and every possible scenario and route we could take. Carlos and team were all extremely patient and thorough with my case, it took close to 2 years to finally get a resolution but ultimately I left the courtroom happy. We were able to get my charges severely reduced and I was given my life back thanks to Carlos and the team, I can't begin to explain how relieved and happy I was when I was given my final paperwork and saw what they were able to do for me.

Carlos and team did for me in ONE court date what 4 other attorneys in almost 3 years could NOT do! I had 3 Felony / 3 Misdemeanors (2 A / 1 B) which combined could have resulted in a max of 32-33 years. Because of my situation with an ex-spouse known to be Spiteful and Manipulative of the system I was not going to give up. 4 of the 6 Charges were violations of a "settled" Protective Order whereby the courts found that there was no violence in the past, present or none feared in the future. The Ex knew how to manipulate the system as I was the 3rd husband that tried has to "kill her" or brutally abused her. Obviously a pattern here BUT in the State of Texas - Women are the Kings and if a female makes the same statements and claims as mine then you are Guilty until proven Innocent regardless of HER past and previous allegations against those poor souls before me. In short - no one wants to harm the Ex but only get as far away as possible from her and her illicit double life and thanks to Carlos 5 of the 6 charges were dismissed. After all of the facts were presented to the ADA by Carlos I walked out of the courtroom with deferred adjudication for 2 Years for one Class B Misdemeanor of "ATTEMPTED Violation of Protective Order" with no fines or penalties either. I am eligible in 8 months to have the case dismissed altogether and keep my clean record which is important as a corporate executive with global travel. He works at a busy law firm with difficult cases and that is what you want from an attorney - it's analogous to walking into a restaurant that is packed with people - the food is good as opposed to a restaurant that never has any people (always a Red Flag)! Please note that this website is a revenue site and a lot of attorneys on here with 5+ Stars have an upgraded membership and routinely manipulate the reviews in their favor. Do NOT be fooled by that as was I... Last - IF you are not happy with an attorney then you have the Legal Right to change - Carlos was my FIFTH attorney. Don't accept a judgement then "blast" the attorney online in a poor review!!

I was fighting a burglary of habitation case since January of 2018. Mr. Martin is a very busy attorney, but every time I called and left a messages he return my calls and gave me plenty of feed back on the case. He worked hard to fight this case for me, and had all the info needed to show that I was Innocent, and he use it. Especially after learning that this was the first time I ever been in any type of trouble. My case went for 6 long months with and offer to sign for a year probation. I kindly decline the offer, he went back in and came out with an better offer. I'm just gonna sum it up and say it's because of Mr. Martin's hard work and dedication that I was able to beat this case and have it dismissed in July of 2018. I walked out of the courts (the same way I walked in) with a clean record. I want to say thanks again Mr. Martin for all your hard work that you put into my case, and it's cause of you I'm back to my normal. You are a great and honest attorney!!! God bless you...

If you find this woman or are referred to her....run like the wind. I hired Joanne without doing the requisite due diligence. I don't know what I was thinking, other than I wasn't. Anger, stress, family problems....all were causing me to just "go" with the lawyer who appeared to have my best interest at heart. That was Joanne. She certainly can present as the caring, committed criminal lawyer. I can tell you that is a facade. I was charged with three felonies, and the case included a substantial issue regarding police misconduct. As an educated business owner, father, member of the community, I needed an aggressive lawyer who was uncompromising and could aggressively litigate my case. That meant going after the cops who fabricated a great deal of their "evidence." Joanne, I believed, was that woman. She sold me on her years as a DA (which I will discuss later), and apparently was the head of the local criminal defense bar (more on that later). However, when it came to working on the case, pressing the cops, addressing tough issues in court, I can describe her abilities as "tepid" at best. In short, she was completely ineffective, and I believe she chose to be so. And so, after having hired her having listened to her hard sell and experience, I concluded that she was a great sales person, but that's all. I made it clear from the beginning, that the cops lied. She wanted nothing to do with that issue AFTER she got my money. And so after my initial shock at the arrest and charging decision, and becoming disillusioned with her "tepid" defense in court, I did a little more investigation. I did not know it at the time, but her "partner" was her dad. He dad was a life long cop, turned criminal attorney in his old age. Not good. And so it began to gel. Joanne grew up in a house run by a cop, surrounded by cops. She chose to prosecute people and never had it in her to become a criminal defense lawyer. At the end of Dad's career, he saw dollar signs and he and his daughter went out on their own to "become" criminal defense lawyers. Got it. Therefore, the "tepid" defense in a police misconduct case. Had I know the extent of her law enforcement entanglements, I never would have hired her. She should stick to cases not involving allegations of bad police conduct. Ultimately, I hired a bulldog outsider lawyer - someone who wasn't raised in the law enforcement community of Houston, who warned me that the Houston Bar was far too intertwined and connected to cops and former DA's on the bench. I chose wisely. After much time, effort and aggressive advocacy from my outsider bulldog lawyer, I resolved my case for a misdemeanor. The comparison to Joanne's aggressive salesmanship in her office to her tepid advocacy in the courtroom, to my bulldog lawyer's "no bull" pitch at his office and aggressive advocacy in the courtroom is shocking. I made the right decision to end the relationship with the woman who grew up with Dad The Cop, surrounded by cops, working with cops, and prosecuting and then partnering with Dad The Cop. Never, hire this lawyer.

Mr. Jaworski handled a case for a close friend of mine, with excellent results. My friend insisted that I get in touch with Mr. Jaworski. At this point, I have worked with him on a limited basis, but have researched his advise and find him to be knowledgeable and on target. I have worked with several attorneys in the past and have found Mr. Jaworski to be personable, respectful and knowledgeable. He answers questions with patience as he tries to educate the client. He does not condescend or make the client feel rushed. After my previous experiences, he has quickly commanded (notice I did not say "demanded") my respect.

This attorney handled a custody case for me. He had no idea what he was doing and custody case went on for over a year. He did not know that mediation was required and had no knowledge of custody cases in general. The case dragged on while Mr. Jaworski collected money and did nothing. With 30+ years of experience in law, I thought I was getting an experienced, knowledgeable attorney. I was disappointed. After 1 year and no progress in the case, I hired another attorney and he got the job done in two weeks. I could not believe how quickly the process could have been. I would definitely not recommend Jaworkski. He might be a good criminal lawyer, but DEFINITELY avoid him for family law.

I hired Rolanda Dent to help me with a simple child support modification enforcement. I have a modification to my current child support and also back child support, referred to as arrears. All this was agreed upon in Mediation and signed by the court Judge James Lombardino. When my paperwork finally reached the enforcement division of the Attorney Generals Office of Child Support, they would only enforce the modified current child support, not the arrears portion or back child support that all parties had agreed upon. They told me it was worded wrong, my paperwork that is and I would have to go back to court to get it worded correctly to submit for enforcement. I talked to Miss Dent approximately three times over the phone and she told me it should be a simple fix to get my modification worded correctly to get the arrears submitted and start taking it out of my payroll check weekly. She only had time to talk to me while I was paying her $900 retainer fee !! The rest of the time I called for updates on my case I would get the answering machine or occasionally her secretary would take a message. This went on for about a YEAR, until I finally told her secretary I need to see her in person because did absolutely NOTHING to help me with this simple modification enforcement. I have given up trying to call this lady because frankly I don't think she ever cared about me as a person or a client and obviously now I know her specialty is not family law. Like I said at the start of my review, if you have a family law issue and you need real help with a real family lawyer, DON'T waste your TIME or your MONEY with this lady !!!!!!! What a Juvenile Law Lawyer Can Do for You

A juvenile law lawyer specializes in legal issues involving minors, including those facing criminal charges, child welfare matters, or status offenses (like truancy or curfew violations). Juvenile law lawyers aim to protect the rights of minors and advocate for rehabilitation rather than punishment in criminal cases. They also help families navigate child custody, abuse, neglect cases, and other legal matters involving children.

If your child is facing criminal charges, or you are involved in a child welfare case, a juvenile law lawyer can help protect your child’s rights and work toward the most favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Juvenile Law Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a juvenile law lawyer in the following situations where minors are involved in legal matters:

  • Juvenile criminal charges: If your child is accused of a crime, such as theft, assault, or drug offenses, a juvenile lawyer can represent them in juvenile court, advocating for leniency and alternatives to detention.
  • Delinquency proceedings: A lawyer can help navigate delinquency charges, defending your child’s rights and seeking rehabilitative outcomes like counseling, probation, or diversion programs instead of incarceration.
  • Status offenses: If your child has committed a status offense, such as truancy, running away, or underage drinking, a lawyer can help you resolve these issues in juvenile court, often focusing on rehabilitation rather than punishment.
  • School disciplinary issues: If your child is facing school suspensions, expulsions, or other disciplinary actions, a lawyer can help protect their educational rights and challenge any unfair or unlawful school policies.
  • Child protective services (CPS) investigations: If your family is being investigated by CPS for alleged abuse, neglect, or dependency, a lawyer can represent you and protect your child’s rights throughout the investigation.
  • Custody disputes: A lawyer can help in cases involving child custody or guardianship disputes, ensuring the child’s best interests are prioritized and advocating for the child’s rights.
  • Emancipation: If your child seeks legal emancipation from their parents or guardians, a lawyer can assist in navigating the legal process and help the child understand their rights and responsibilities.

Hiring a lawyer early in the legal process ensures that your child’s rights are protected and that the best possible outcomes are pursued.

What Does a Juvenile Law Lawyer Do?

A juvenile law lawyer provides various services to help minors and their families navigate the legal system. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing minors in court: A lawyer will represent your child in juvenile court, advocating for their rights and seeking rehabilitative outcomes rather than punitive measures.
  • Filing motions and legal paperwork: The lawyer handles all necessary legal filings, including petitions, responses, and motions to dismiss charges or suppress evidence.
  • Negotiating with prosecutors: In some cases, a lawyer can negotiate plea deals or diversion programs that prevent the child from having a permanent criminal record or serving time in detention.
  • Advising on rehabilitation programs: Juvenile law lawyers often focus on alternatives to incarceration, such as counseling, community service, or probation, helping minors avoid long-term legal consequences.
  • Handling CPS and child welfare cases: If your family is involved in a CPS investigation or child welfare case, the lawyer can advocate for your child’s safety and well-being, ensuring that their rights are upheld.
  • Defending minors against school discipline: A lawyer can help challenge unfair or excessive disciplinary actions taken by schools, ensuring that your child’s educational rights are protected.

  • Flat fee: For simpler cases, such as status offenses or school disciplinary hearings, a lawyer may charge a flat fee that covers all legal services related to the case.
  • Retainer: In more complex cases, such as defending against serious criminal charges or handling a long-term CPS investigation, a lawyer may require a retainer, which is an upfront payment billed against as they work on the case.
  • Sliding scale or pro bono services: Some juvenile law lawyers offer sliding scale fees based on income or may provide pro bono (free) services for families who cannot afford to pay full legal fees, especially in cases involving child welfare or delinquency.
