I first began using Keith Bowers Jr. & Associates services in 2003 for my clients real estate closings. Because of his professionalism, work ethic and honesty, I have continued to use Keith Bowers Jr. & Associates not only for my real estate clients, but also for my personal services in both my uncontested divorce and most recently to settle my mother's estate.
I will say that when Keith Bowers took on the county attorney position in Carter County I was worried his level of attention would drop of to my real estate clients, however I have actually found that with his well trained staff my work now seems to get done not only quicker than before, but more accurately than any other firms I work with. So don't be scared off thinking that Keith's firm cannot handle your small needs as well.
I will comment that I have referred several people to Keith Bowers Jr. & Associates in the past. Not only for real estate work, but for probate and estates, wills and divorces and have never had a single complaint come back to me from my "friends" I have sent there.
The addition of Tara Thomas to Keith Bowers Jr. & Associates has also been a welcomed blessing. Her knowledge of child custody, divorce and North Carolina law have now made her my #2 recommended attorney in the area.
As recent as this past year as an additional note, I know a former neighbor of mine who had used Keith for his real estate purchase was very complimentary of a return trip to Keith to do an adoption. While I've never worked directly with Mr. Bowers on adoptions, I have heard by 3 different people that he is exceptional in this line of work and that it may indeed be his most qualified field.
So if you want to deal with a firm that will get your work done and stay with you until your work is done and not stick you with left over pieces, then I strongly recommend Keith Bowers Jr. & Associates.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Wow!! This office is dedicated.. I’m Super impressed how fast they responded. I sent a email to request a consolation and Within 20 mins my phone rang...Mind you This is 7pm on a weeknight. Well AFTER offices hours... SO Amazing. I’ve been super stressed emotional , very overwhelmed with my situation.. The Issue is with my special needs child and her teacher/school. I was lost on what to do I didn’t know my rights.. Didn’t know what I could do next. Then I spoke with Mrs.Mumford. I couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience. Mrs. Mumford was wonderful so easy to talk too, Very sweet. I told her all the drama and I could hear her concern. I felt she whole heartily sympathized with me and genuinely cared. She didn’t rush me or make me feel dumb because I didn’t know or didn’t understand. Instead she explained it again. She Let me ask a millions questions. With so much patience. She Made sure I had a good understanding. She advised me with some things to do. Told me if I had anymore question or concerns about anything not to hesitate to call her back. Just WOW. Im truly blown away. I’m so very thankful for her kindness. And the respect she showed me tonight. I finally have some much needed understanding and relieved. I can’t say Thank you enough to The Mumford’s for their grade A+ services an for their time. I definitely will be using and referring for any legal issues I have in the future. I want to begin with saying Brandi Heiden is the Best Attorney I could have come across in the most devastating time of my life. In Sept. 2017 I was in a 6 year relationship & we had a 5 1/2 yr old son. We were engaged, but in no rush to get married. My Fiancé had a long time (20yr) drug addiction, that I was aware of when we began our relationship. However, I got pregnant within 3 months of us dating. I thought maybe between myself & the baby he always wanted, he would change. That was hopeful but very naive. We had many ups & downs; arguments and breakdowns. We separated 3-4 times in 6 years. One thing we did love more than anything and always put before “US” was our son. That’s what always kept us coming back together. He made a decision to quit the street drugs (EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE) & get on Methadone. He explained to me it was legal, given to him at a clinic, where he would have to go everyday to take, also have to take drug test to assure he wasn’t taking any other drug, & they also provided counseling. Plus it was $100 a week vs $600-$700 a week. Anyway, it changed him, his moods, his patience, he was always angry & mean. The emotional, mental, & verbal abuse I had gotten used to, got worse & one day the physical began. This had never happened, but to make matters worse my 5 yr old saw the entire thing, & my son was the one who knew to call 911. We were both scared. My fiancé was arrested & after a few weeks, we went to court and I allowed him to continue coaching my sons football team and visit him with my supervision. My In-laws began pushing & pushing for us to get married asap. Saying it be better for our son & look better for my fiancé in court. Well, we did. November 2017 we got married. Not even 3 weeks after, Dec. 2nd 2017 he shoved me through a bedroom door.. my heart broke, police came again & arrested him.
On Dec 7th 2017 I took my son to school & when I went to pick him up I was told he was already picked up & I could no longer come to the school. A world wind hit me. I didn’t know who, what, where my son was. Then I got a text from my mother in law, she was granted temp. guardianship of my son for Dependency & Neglect. I immediately called around & found out about Brandi Heiden. We met the next day & basically went over several false allegations against me that my mother in law had lied about. That’s when it hit me, she needed me to marry her son so she would have rights to try to take my son away, because she couldn’t accept what her son had been doing for so long. I was Lost. Now I wasn’t “innocent until proven guilty, I had to PROVE my innocence. I will NEVER forget the words Ms. Heiden told me that day; “ Do Exactly What I Tell You To Do, Everything, even if the judge does not order it, Do It, and You Will Get Your Son Back, I Promise”. So thats what I did. I took 12 classes on Abused Women. I took 30 (3hr) Drug & Alcohol classes, when I don’t use drugs & occasionally have glass of wine. I took 2 hair follicle drug tests where I watched them chop off 8 thick pieces of my hair, & took over 2 dozen drug/alcohol urine screens. EVERY single test came back Negative! All of this took precious time away from me w/my son. Days I would pull over & call Brandi (Ms.Heiden) crying that I missed him & needed him & was hurting; a piece of me was just gone. She would talk to me, remind me how good I was doing, how hard I was fighting & I am a good mother & will get him back. With over 15 court dates, I lost my job, my car, & my house. Now it really looked bad... if I did get him back how would I support him, where would we live.? I kept praying & An elderly man from church had lost his wife & offered 2 rooms in his house for me & my son a place to stay. Brandi said the state will help w/the rest. Brandi wkd hours on end for me. Finally Nov 19 2018 (11mo/12 days) the judge awarded Me FULL Custody!
I am FOREVER GRATEFUL & THANKFUL to Ms. Heiden! My Son is home w/me where He belongs; & I made a Friend 4 Life !!

I honestly don’t even know where to begin, Seth Lasater has been our attorney for going on 2 years and I will highly recommend him to anyone. We have had several different cases ranging from child custody to criminal where Seth has represented us, and I will have to say I do not have ONE single regret nor complaint about him. During all of our cases he has done all he can to make sure all bases are covered and takes the time to do any research that is needed. He is very knowledgeable about everyone of our cases and gives his legal opinion and recommendations on the best route to take on the case but will leave that final decision up to you if need be so that way you don’t feel pressured into having to go his route if you don’t feel confident in his decision and will take your opinions in consideration on anything you ask or think of but he gives you his insights and what the outcomes could be on each. I highly recommend Seth to anyone. When I say he does his research laws change all the time and not every case is the same they can be in the same category however be different incidents so yes research is needed to be 100% confident and successful and that would be for any attorney. However Seth makes sure you fully understand the circumstances and the possible outcomes of everything so you aren’t shocked if it doesn’t go as planned. You always hope for the best but it’s not always what you want and again that’s with any attorney, none of them can 100% guarantee you what the judges decision will
be. Seth is very knowledgeable of all the judges and can predict 90% of the time which route that judge will probably take but again does not guarantee anything. With that being said you know he is and has to be an amazing attorney for someone to keep the same one for so long if one is needed that long, that should be an eye opener there that we honestly can’t complain and honestly wouldn’t choose any other attorney. Seth will do everything in his legal power to make sure you get the desired outcome and will go completely at bat for you and defend you in every way possible and will listen and take in your thoughts and concerns regarding your case and give you any and all advice he can. Also with all this positivity and confidence in him being said isn’t because his fees are cheap of why I am writing this review because one his fees are pretty much average fees for an attorney there isn’t a shock to his fees due to his fees are straight across the board as pretty much any other attorney you will find and two I’m not being positive because he wanted me to be, this is all the 100% truth and coming from the heart. He is an amazing attorney and I promise you and I can guarantee you he will defend you 100% and do everything he has to do to make sure there isn’t any confusion along the way. He is very compassionate and easy to get in touch with and if he is out of the office he will get back with you in a timely manner. Lastly not to get too personal but it is public Seth lost his father a few weeks before one of our court dates and he still kept up with our court date and went at bat for us at court knowing what stress he had on him of losing a parent he still was very considerate of our case and we did get what we expected which is always a plus. So again I did this review because Seth deserves it and there isn’t enough words or reviews that I could say or leave that would amount to all the hard work and knowledge and help this man/attorney has done for our cases/family. I promise you will not be disappointed and regretful of choosing Seth Lasater as an attorney for divorce, child custody, criminal, family matters and etc. He does practice in a few more different types of cases but that is what we have had him for thus far. Hopefully not anymore cases but life happens. Again you will absolutely love him. Lanis Karnes was hired by my ex wife and that God forsaken mother of hers to terminate my parental rights. She filed a motion to cease my visitation with my child. I filed an 11 page response with exhibits to EE that literally destroyed ever facet of their case. Mainly because their entire case was based on conjecture, heresy and camp fire tall tales. I sent her exculpatory evidence for an allegation my XMIL made up. She had an ethical obligation to present the evidence to the judge. Instead she postponed court as my ex wife went on a desperate man hunt for someone, anyone willing to say anything negative about me. They had a woman pretend to be my girlfriend for a year so she could get close enough to have me arrested. Ms. Karnes concocted a a very complex plan requiring all 4 women performing different tasks to inevitably get me behind bars. All 4 women escaped unscathed by hiding behind the VAWA as I am accepting reality that I will never receive any justice not whip. I ever hear someone call me dad. People love to tell me karma will get them . I have to laugh because there ain’t enough karma. I reported her twice to the bar for ethics violations. That’s how I learned attorneys decide for themselves if they practice ethically.

Ive never needed a lawyer before. I live in East tn, and I suddenly found the largest, most powerful bureaucracies in the state, lined up against me with both barells! They acted as if they were above the law. I'm referring to child protective services. I went to them for help for a child in a bad situation as a mandated reporter. Then they turned on me like a pit bull. It was my worst nightmare. They just arbitrarily determined I was guilty of a crime based on the word of a derelict abusive parent. They never contacted me at all during their "investigation" of me. And they broke many more of their own rules and policies. No one would help. No one would listen to me. Family knew the truth but that didn't matter. I stood to have my name on a list, a publicly searchable database as someone who did something that never happened. They had NO CASE AT ALL but it never stopped them. I stood to be ruined by reputation, lose my ability to serve God in the capacity that I had for years. Then I found Ms. Lanis Karnes. A lawyer in the family had advised me to find one with experience in the area of administrative hearings for CPS. AND FALSE "indications" as they call them. Best advice ever. Over the months b4 hearing her staff and herself, walked me thru all that was needed, I sent them all the info and some q&a, but it was the best feeling in the world once the hearing started. All the months of worry and anger melted away as I watched her brick by brick destroy what passed as their case against me. Finally someone who was on my side (aside from witnesses and family) she was professional but tough as nails and prepared! She hit them figuratively speaking with a 10 lb hammer over and over till they had no choice but to dismiss b4 it ever even came to the point of mine and witness testimony. I just sat there in awe as she worked over this cps crew. They were stuttering and stammering and covering Their own tails. HIRE HER!

We have worked with Lanis, and she is knowledgeable, diligent and truly cares about the families with whom she works. Not only that, but as a family who has adopted 8 special needs children, she was instrumental in helping us deal with a recent situation we had with a child who ran away from home. I cannot think of an attorney that I would rather have helping me with a case involving child protective services.
