Jennifer Smart worked very hard on a old case of mine this year. She did a wonderful job to get my bond reduced. She was very patient with me and helped me get my case dismissed. I thank Jennifer for being clear with the things I needed to do, and how things were going to play out. I would recommend her to anybody who needs help and needs an Attorney.

On April 27th 2023 I visited Mr. Villafrancas office. He was representing my aunt martha cantu who was selling a family home with a unrecorded power of attorney (required by texas law 751.151). I tried to tell him about this law and that another power of attorney was recorded. He yelled and screamed at me to get off of his home property (which I thought was his place of business). Now Stewart title has admitted this was a mistake on their part. Mr. Villafranca withheld this information leading to a title dispute. He was determined to sell my dying grandfather's home!

I had the privilege of working with Victor as my attorney and I can confidently say that he exemplifies the pinnacle of professionalism and compassion in his field. Throughout our engagement, Victor’s unwavering dedication to my case coupled with his consistent and transparent communication left an indelible impression on me. His profound knowledge and unwavering confidence and his capabilities were instrumental in achieving the remarkable results he delivered. From the outside, Victor’s commitment to my legal matter was evident, even without any explicit promises made. His proactive approach, coupled with his adeptness and navigating complex legal nuances, solidified my decision, and choosing him as my attorney. Victor’s honesty and his ability to create a comfortable environment, further underscored his exceptional qualities. Without reservation, I wholeheartedly, recommend Victor to anyone, seeking legal representation, that combines expertise, integrity, and a client centric approach. Victor’s contribution to my case was invaluable, and I am truly grateful for his efforts. Thank you, Victor, for your remarkable service and for making a positive difference in my experience with the legal process.

This place is a joke. My case got passed off to three different lawyers from them “no longer being with our firm” and just found out today that the paralegal on my case is also “not with the firm”. I’m not sure why they can’t keep people there but somehow they have drained my entire $5,000 trust and I have absolutely nothing to show for it. I was given bad info and misled by 2 of the lawyers, 1 who also showed up to my court date late and giving me an attitude as is I wasn’t paying him to be there. Terrible experience, getting a lawyer did absolutely nothing for me. I wish I had read the reviews and spent my money elsewhere.

0/5 START TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE- Unprofessional and Incompetent Service I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from this attorney. My experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From the outset, it was clear that professionalism and competence were not priorities for this attorney. I wish I could find these reviews before signing a contract with these people. First, communication was abysmal. Despite numerous attempts to get clear and advanced updates on my case, my calls and emails were often ignored or answered with a vague and unhelpful response. The LACK OF TRANSPARENCY and accountability was incredibly frustrating and left me in the dark for 7 months. Additionally, the first attorney (I wasn't aware was someone different from Mr. Barina) seemed completely disorganized and unprepared. 5+ months later after I signed a contract with the attorney, I found out that the attorney running my case was no longer working in the office and whoever would be in charge of my case needed time to catch up on the case. Important deadlines were missed, and crucial documents were incorrectly filed. Their blatant disregard for detail and lack of diligence was appalling and severely jeopardized the outcome of my case. Overall, Bobby Dale Barina's office provided the worst legal service I ever experienced. Their unprofessionalism, incompetence, and lack of basic communication skills made an already stressful situation infinitely worse and incomplete. Hours before I got on a plane for military purposes, I found out that they were unwilling to represent me for my case due "absence of jurisdiction." Information that, they probably knew, for a long time ago and they held on shared with me. 7 months after I am in the same place where I started with the case, with $5,000 less in my bank account, and waiting to finish with my military obligations to go back to the States and restart the process due to their hiding of information. I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS FIRM TO LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR LEGAL REPRESENTATION. P.S. Incredibly diligent in replying to a bad review and remembering a client. For future reference, next time I suggest providing straightforward and consistent information from the beginning. This will ensure that new clients have clear and realistic expectations. This is crucial for foresting trust and confidence between both parties. CLEARLY, you didn't complete the task. As a result, of your performance, it hurts my trust in your competence and services.

This man is so incredibly rude. As a victim of domestic violence, I was referred to his office in an attempt to obtain a protective order for myself and my children. In the most patronizing tone I've ever heard, this man told me he declined my case because the abuse "wasn't bad enough" He said the judge wouldn't issue the protective order unless my spouse had "beat the brakes off of me". Completely unprofessional. This is exactly why domestic violence gets out of hand. People cannot get the help they need before it is too late. This man should lose his job. In no way is he an advocate for any victim of domestic violence.

One of the rudest most uncaring humans I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. His attitude is the worse. Mine is a domestic abuse case, that was picked up by the state of Texas, the judge ordered an emergency protective order. I wanted it extended. This man that beat me, broke my hand and finger. He beat me with a fan. Everything Soorholtz, was defending the jerk that hurt me. When he called me, the first thing he said to me was " so i hear you got the crap beat out of you a few weeks back. Completely unprofessional. If there was a 1/2 a star he would get that rating, he actually deserves NO STARS.

I am a civil rights activist in Amarillo Texas. I have lived here over 40 years. I have seen a lot of injustice towards black, white, and brown, at the hands of Amarillo police department. All you have to do is read Captain Poole’s book, cops are people too. It only tells half the story and I know Todd Hatter personally and have watched his work in the court room. I have seen him cause innocent people to be declared not guilty who otherwise would have languished in prison, but for him. We on the streets call him, the mad hatter, because he fights like a mad man for what is right. We need more men like him. P.S. Captain pool used to be a captain at the Amarillo police Department. Who would know better than him?

Mr.Hatter filed my divorce and managed my child custody hearing. All of the matters that we're important to me were also important to Mr.Hatter. He explained the law to me when my requests were unreasonable. He also explained to me the things that make some judges frown upon clients. The judge awarded me custody, and the lives of my kids have been peaceful and without incident. Thanks to my attorney for listening to my concerns regarding my kids and for advising me on specific protective measures that we're options to keeping my kids safe and for efficiently presenting the facts to the judge so that the protective measures could be inforced. Mr.Hatter is fair and honest. He helped us. We are so thankful.

Mr. Hatter has been my fathers attorney appointed by the state of Texas but has failed to do an adequate job of listening or even acting like he cares. I was recommended Carlos by a close friend who set up an appointment for me at the firm. Upon meeting Carlos I felt extremely welcomed, even before payments we fleshed out my case and every possible scenario and route we could take. Carlos and team were all extremely patient and thorough with my case, it took close to 2 years to finally get a resolution but ultimately I left the courtroom happy. We were able to get my charges severely reduced and I was given my life back thanks to Carlos and the team, I can't begin to explain how relieved and happy I was when I was given my final paperwork and saw what they were able to do for me.

Carlos and team did for me in ONE court date what 4 other attorneys in almost 3 years could NOT do! I had 3 Felony / 3 Misdemeanors (2 A / 1 B) which combined could have resulted in a max of 32-33 years. Because of my situation with an ex-spouse known to be Spiteful and Manipulative of the system I was not going to give up. 4 of the 6 Charges were violations of a "settled" Protective Order whereby the courts found that there was no violence in the past, present or none feared in the future. The Ex knew how to manipulate the system as I was the 3rd husband that tried has to "kill her" or brutally abused her. Obviously a pattern here BUT in the State of Texas - Women are the Kings and if a female makes the same statements and claims as mine then you are Guilty until proven Innocent regardless of HER past and previous allegations against those poor souls before me. In short - no one wants to harm the Ex but only get as far away as possible from her and her illicit double life and thanks to Carlos 5 of the 6 charges were dismissed. After all of the facts were presented to the ADA by Carlos I walked out of the courtroom with deferred adjudication for 2 Years for one Class B Misdemeanor of "ATTEMPTED Violation of Protective Order" with no fines or penalties either. I am eligible in 8 months to have the case dismissed altogether and keep my clean record which is important as a corporate executive with global travel. He works at a busy law firm with difficult cases and that is what you want from an attorney - it's analogous to walking into a restaurant that is packed with people - the food is good as opposed to a restaurant that never has any people (always a Red Flag)! Please note that this website is a revenue site and a lot of attorneys on here with 5+ Stars have an upgraded membership and routinely manipulate the reviews in their favor. Do NOT be fooled by that as was I... Last - IF you are not happy with an attorney then you have the Legal Right to change - Carlos was my FIFTH attorney. Don't accept a judgement then "blast" the attorney online in a poor review!!

I confidently recommend Titiana Frausto to anyone seeking legal council. We worked closely together over a two year period as she represented me throughout a child custody and adoption process. During that time she earned my greatest respect, admiration and confidence. She invests her time and energy and is extremely thorough in her due diligence. Her exceptional strong eye for detail, organization, enthusiasm, and communication skills gain her the upper-hand in the courtroom. Titiana’s dedication and sacrificial giving of her time, energy and expertise has forever changed our lives. Titiana’s knowledge of the law, ability to expose discrepancies and reveal the truth in the courtroom is truly incredible. She has helped change the future of our family. I expected alot more . My child was seriously burned multiple times. Judge said mediation was required apparently with little or no fight from her. Idk alot of law but if a child is burned on multiple occasions Id expect a little faster hearing or at least an attorney that wont take no for an answer for the safety of children. Had mediation she sat on her cell phone most of the time she interrupted one time to correct a lie my ex told thats about it. We had no planning or game plan for mediation I recieved a phone call the day before. Ive never been in mediation i dont know what to expect, but Her and the mediator while in MY mediation session were disussing other cases and discussing names in front of me. Very unprofessional imo and when i complained about her behavior the First thing i recieved was a bill. I called to say I've only recieved 2 statements the entire 6 months Next thing i recieve is a copy of the orders with the "wrong address". What a Juvenile Law Lawyer Can Do for You

A juvenile law lawyer specializes in legal issues involving minors, including those facing criminal charges, child welfare matters, or status offenses (like truancy or curfew violations). Juvenile law lawyers aim to protect the rights of minors and advocate for rehabilitation rather than punishment in criminal cases. They also help families navigate child custody, abuse, neglect cases, and other legal matters involving children.

If your child is facing criminal charges, or you are involved in a child welfare case, a juvenile law lawyer can help protect your child’s rights and work toward the most favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Juvenile Law Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a juvenile law lawyer in the following situations where minors are involved in legal matters:

  • Juvenile criminal charges: If your child is accused of a crime, such as theft, assault, or drug offenses, a juvenile lawyer can represent them in juvenile court, advocating for leniency and alternatives to detention.
  • Delinquency proceedings: A lawyer can help navigate delinquency charges, defending your child’s rights and seeking rehabilitative outcomes like counseling, probation, or diversion programs instead of incarceration.
  • Status offenses: If your child has committed a status offense, such as truancy, running away, or underage drinking, a lawyer can help you resolve these issues in juvenile court, often focusing on rehabilitation rather than punishment.
  • School disciplinary issues: If your child is facing school suspensions, expulsions, or other disciplinary actions, a lawyer can help protect their educational rights and challenge any unfair or unlawful school policies.
  • Child protective services (CPS) investigations: If your family is being investigated by CPS for alleged abuse, neglect, or dependency, a lawyer can represent you and protect your child’s rights throughout the investigation.
  • Custody disputes: A lawyer can help in cases involving child custody or guardianship disputes, ensuring the child’s best interests are prioritized and advocating for the child’s rights.
  • Emancipation: If your child seeks legal emancipation from their parents or guardians, a lawyer can assist in navigating the legal process and help the child understand their rights and responsibilities.

Hiring a lawyer early in the legal process ensures that your child’s rights are protected and that the best possible outcomes are pursued.

What Does a Juvenile Law Lawyer Do?

A juvenile law lawyer provides various services to help minors and their families navigate the legal system. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing minors in court: A lawyer will represent your child in juvenile court, advocating for their rights and seeking rehabilitative outcomes rather than punitive measures.
  • Filing motions and legal paperwork: The lawyer handles all necessary legal filings, including petitions, responses, and motions to dismiss charges or suppress evidence.
  • Negotiating with prosecutors: In some cases, a lawyer can negotiate plea deals or diversion programs that prevent the child from having a permanent criminal record or serving time in detention.
  • Advising on rehabilitation programs: Juvenile law lawyers often focus on alternatives to incarceration, such as counseling, community service, or probation, helping minors avoid long-term legal consequences.
  • Handling CPS and child welfare cases: If your family is involved in a CPS investigation or child welfare case, the lawyer can advocate for your child’s safety and well-being, ensuring that their rights are upheld.
  • Defending minors against school discipline: A lawyer can help challenge unfair or excessive disciplinary actions taken by schools, ensuring that your child’s educational rights are protected.
  • Advising families on legal options: A lawyer will explain the juvenile legal process to families, offering advice on the best legal strategies and what to expect during the case.

How Are Juvenile Law Lawyers Paid?

Juvenile law lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: Many juvenile law lawyers charge by the hour, with rates ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For simpler cases, such as status offenses or school disciplinary hearings, a lawyer may charge a flat fee that covers all legal services related to the case.
  • Retainer: In more complex cases, such as defending against serious criminal charges or handling a long-term CPS investigation, a lawyer may require a retainer, which is an upfront payment billed against as they work on the case.
  • Sliding scale or pro bono services: Some juvenile law lawyers offer sliding scale fees based on income or may provide pro bono (free) services for families who cannot afford to pay full legal fees, especially in cases involving child welfare or delinquency.

Discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to understand the total cost and payment options.

How Much Does a Juvenile Law Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a juvenile law lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer’s experience, and the time involved. General cost estimates include:

  • Juvenile criminal cases: Legal fees for defending a minor in juvenile criminal cases can range from $2,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on the severity of the charges and whether the case goes to trial.
  • Status offenses: For cases involving minor offenses such as truancy or underage drinking, legal fees typically range from $1,500 to $5,000.

How to Check the Credibility of a Juvenile Law Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable juvenile law lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and experience:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice law and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Look for juvenile law experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in juvenile law and have successfully handled cases similar to yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for client reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s professionalism and success rate in juvenile cases.
  • Ask for references: A reputable lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who have worked with them on juvenile law matters.
  • Check for certifications or memberships: Look for memberships in organizations like the National Juvenile Defender Center (NJDC) or certifications in juvenile law, which can indicate a lawyer’s dedication to representing minors.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with a juvenile law lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Court documents: Bring any legal documents related to your child’s case, such as summons, complaints, or court orders.
  • School records: Provide any relevant school records, including disciplinary reports, attendance records, and communications from school officials.
